Abstract

The effects of current globalization bring people of Indonesia lost their identity. Character education is the key to the progress of a nation. This research discussed the implementation of the internalization characters in a study at school.The objectives of this research are: (1) to know the implementation of the internalization characters in a study of IPS, (2) to know problems were encountered and also the way to overcome, and (3) to know the result of implementation of the internalization characters in a study of IPS.This research was conducted in SMP N 2 Sidoharjo, Wonogiri in 2012. Methods used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Sampling using purposive sampling because it adapted to the purpose and to identify problems. The data were colleceted using observation technique, interview, questionnaires, and document analysis. The data validation used triangulation of sources and triangulation of techniques.The results of research were analysed using data analyzed technique by : data collecting, data reduction, data presentation, then conducted by data analysis and got the conclusion that (1) the implementation of the internalization characters in a study of IPS at SMP Negeri 2 Sidoharjo, Wonogiri in 2012 has walked but it was not maximal yet, (2) the problems are lack of allocation of fund for the implementation of the internalization characters, lack of teacher’s comprehension toward character-based learning model and there was no policy about assesment toward the internalization characters in the teaching-learning, (3) the result of implementation of the internalization characters generally were visible however specially there is no reference of permanent assesement yet.To overcome the problems, school has done the following efforts : (1) offering of fund to the goverment and school commitee, (2) performing the socialization of the charactered-education, workshop the method and model of character-based learning and also the way of assessment and the instrument.Keywords : internalization, value characters, study of IPS

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a disease that can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure that can lead to death. Someone who has a risk factor for hypertension must be more vigilant and earlier in conducting prevention efforts. Prevention is to control the blood and improve the understanding of hypertension through health education in order to identify and reduce risk behavior hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect health education program 0n health behavior in patients with hypertension.Subjects and Method: This was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest and control design. This conducted in Purwo Bakti Husodo, Purwodiningratan and Mojosongo integrated development post Pos Pembinaan Terpadu (Posbindu). A total sample of patients with hypertension as many as 30 people the treatment group and 32 control group. Data analysis using paired sample t-test or Wilcoxon and using independent sample t-test or Mann Whitney.Results: No effect of hypertension health education to the knowledge of hypertension (p<0.001). There is an effect on the attitudes of health education hypertension patients with hypertension (p=0.014). Health education hypertension influence the change risky behavior is a history of smoking (p=0.005), eating salty foods (p=0.008) and frequency of exercise (p  0.001), while health education hypertension had no effect statistically significant to change risky behavior that is stress (p=0.322) and BMI (p=0.502).Conclusion: Health education about hypertension effect on knowledge, attitudes, smoking, eating salty foods and exercise while no effect on stress and Body Mass Index (BMI).Keywords: health education, knowledge, attitudes and behavior of hypertension risk.Correspondence: Nur Haryani. Abstract

This research produce a product model of internalization of the character in learning history through Value Clarification Technique as a revitalization of the role of social studies in the formation of national character. In general, this research consist of three levels : (1) doing  pre-survey which identified the current condition of  the learning value of character in ​​in learning history (2) development of a model based on the findings of  pre-survey, the model used is the Dick and Carey Model, and (3) validating the models. Development models implemented with limited trials and extensive testing. The findings of this study lead to the conclusion that the VCT model is effective to internalize the character value in learning history. VCT models effective for increasing the role of learning history in the formation of student character. It can be concluded VCT models effective for improving the quality of processes and products of learning character values ​​in social studies SMP especially in Surakarta Keywords: Internalization, the value of character, Model VCT, learning history, learning social studies Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan suatu produk model internalisasi nilai karakter dalam pembelajaran IPS melalui Model Value Clarification Technique sebagai revitalisasi peran pembelajaran IPS dalam pembentukan karakter bangsa. Secara garis besar tahapan penelitian meliputi (1) prasurvai untuk mengidetifikasi kondisi pembelajaran nilai karakter pada pembelajaran  IPS Sejarah SMP yang sedang berjalan, (2) pengembangan model berdasarkan hasil prasurvai, model yang digunakan adalah model Dick and Carey, dan (3) vaidasi model. Pengembangan model dilaksanakan dengan ujicoba terbatas dan uji coba luas. Temuan penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa model VCT efektif  menginternalisasi nilai karakter dalam pembelajaran Sejarah. Model VCT efektif untuk meningkatkan peran pembelajaran Sejarah dalam pembentukan karakter siswa yang pada gilirannya dapat meningkatkan pembentukan karakter bangsa. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan model VCT efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses dan produk  pembelajaran nilai karakter pada mata pelajaran  IPS Sejarah SMP  khususnya di Solo Raya. Kata Kunci : Internalisasi, nilai karakter, Model VCT, pembelajaran Sejarah, IPS.

Abstract

Background: Pregnancy yields happiness to pregnant women and their husbands. But it can worry them. The support of family gives pregnant women composure, secure feeling, and comfort thereby reducing pregnant woman’s anxiety. This study aimed to determine the effect of family support and parity on anxiety level among third trimester pregnant women in dealing with delivery. Methods:This analytical observational study usedcross sectional design. The reference population was third trimester pregnant women visiting HarapanBunda Maternal Clinic, Surakarta, from June to July 2012. The independent variableswere family support and parity. The dependent variable was anxiety. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression model. Results:There were statistically significant effects of family support (b = -0.48; p = 0.017) and parity (b = -3.40; p = 0.007) on pregnant women’s anxiety in dealing with delivery. Conclusion:Family support and parity reduce anxiety among pregnant women of trimester pregnancy. The stronger the family support the lower is the anxiety of pregnant women. Multipara, on the average, had lower anxiety than primipara. Key words: Anxiety, family support, parity, pregnant woman

Abstract

Background : Regularity of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment are affected by many factors such as knowledge, attitudes of patients, and family support.This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes of patient, andfamily support, and regularity of tuberculosis treatment. Methods : This was an analytic observational study using a cross sectionaldesign.A sample of 57 pulmonary tuberculosis patients who had been undertaking anti-tuberculosis direct observed treatment short course in Klatendistrict, Central Java, for the past two years were studied. The data on the independent variables including knowledge, patient attitude, and family support, were collected using questionnaire. The secondary data on regularity of tuberculosis treatment were taken from the reporting and recording system at health center and district health office. The relationshipbetween knowledge, patient attitude,and family support and regularity of treatment were analyzed using multiple logistic regression model. Odds Ratio and its 95CI% were estimated. Results : Tuberculosis patientswho had high tuberculosis knowledge had four timeshigher probability to undertake regular treatment than those with low knowledge(OR =4.40 ; CI 95 % = 1.08 to 17.89 ; p = 0.030). Patients with good attitude had three timeshigherprobability to undertake regular treatment than those with poor attitude (OR = 3.67 ; CI95 % = 1.02 to 13.42 ; p = 0.043). Patients with strong family support were twice more likely to undertake regular treatment than those with weak family support (OR = 2.22; CI 95 % = 0.54 to 9.14; p = 0.261). Conclusion: There is a positive relationship between knowledge, patient attitude, and  family support, and regularity of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment. Abstract

The efforts to improve quality of history learning and to answer the global demand can be carried out by utilizing technology. One of them is by developing the virtual class in history learning. These research and development are intended to produce a collaborative model of history virtual class in order to improve the critical thinking ability on the history values at the students of Senior High School. The research is conducted at a Senior High School in Solo Raya in the year 2014.  This research is designed to apply the development research pursuant to the opinion of Borg and Gall. The data are collected by using the techniques of observation, interview, document analysis, FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and questionnaire. The methods applied to analyze the data are the qualitative analysis using interactive model, evaluative and comparatives analyses. The finding of this research produces a conclusion that the model of history virtual class is effective to improve the critical thinking ability on the history values.  The collaborative model of virtual class is effective to improve the role of history learning in stimulating the critical thinking ability of the students which in turn will be able to improve competence of the students.Key words:  History Virtual Class, Critical Thinking Ability, Collaborative Model.Upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran sejarah dan untuk menjawab permintaan global dapat dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi. Salah satunya adalah dengan mengembangkan kelas virtual dalam sejarah pembelajaran. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini dimaksudkan untuk menghasilkan model kolaboratif sejarah kelas virtual untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada nilai-nilai sejarah di siswa SMA. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Senior di Solo Raya pada tahun 2014. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk menerapkan penelitian pengembangan sesuai dengan pendapat Borg dan Gall. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, analisis dokumen, FGD (Focus Group Discussion) dan kuesioner. Metode yang diterapkan untuk menganalisis data adalah analisis kualitatif dengan model interaktif, evaluatif dan analisis komparatif. Temuan penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa model sejarah kelas virtual yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada nilai-nilai sejarah. Model kolaboratif kelas virtual adalah efektif untuk meningkatkan peran sejarah pembelajaran dalam merangsang kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang pada gilirannya akan dapat meningkatkan kompetensi siswa.Kata kunci: kelas virtual sejarah, kemampuan berpikir kritis, model kolaboratif

Latar belakang: Pemantauan pertumbuhan balita selama ini belum berjalan seperti yang diharapkan, karena kesadaran masyarakat akan keberadaan posyandu masih jauh dari harapan. Masyarakat belum menyadari sepenuhnyabahwa posyandu milik masyarakat yang harus dikembangkan, karena pemberdayaan posyandu merupakan daridan untuk masyarakat setempat. Petugas kesehatan atau pihak puskesmas diharapkan mampu mengembangkanposyandu karena mereka menjadi pendamping yang akan memberikan motivasi masyarakat untuk pelaksanaankegiatan posyandu.Tujuan: untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengawasan, evaluasi, hasil yang dicapai dan kendalayang dihadapi di Posyandu Harapan Pertiwi di Dusun Druwo Desa Bangunharjo Sewon Bantul Yogyakarta.Metode: Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus yang bersifat deskriptif.Unit Analisis adalah Posyandu Harapan Pertiwi di Dusun Druwo Bangunharjo sewon Bantul Yogyakarta. Data diambil secara purposive sampling melalui wawancara mendalam dengan checklist observasi. Analisis data denganexplanation building yaitu tehnik penjelasan hasil wawancara dan analisis checklist hasil observasi serta penulusuran dokumen.Hasil: menunjukan bahwa perencanaan kegiatan Posyandu Harapan Pertiwi di Dusun Druwo Bangunharjo SewonBantul Yogyakarta sudah tersusun dengan baik mengikuti aturan perencanaan, melibatkan seluruh komponendan menghasilkan dokumen perencanaan. Struktur organisasi pelaksana Posyandu merupakan organisasi yanginformal di masyarakat.Simpulan: Bahwa perencanaan, struktur organisasi, pelaksanaan, pengawasan dan evaluasi kegiatan PosyanduHarapan Pertiwi sudah sesuai dengan peraturan dari dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Bantul. Abstract

Abstract:  This study aimed at describing the usage of smartphone and internet in the community of college students which can be the basic on the development of an application. This qualitative-descriptive study was conducted through interviews with teacher staff and surveys with 54 students of History Education Study Program in the Teacher Training and Educational Sciences Faculty. The study result shows that: (1) 47 students (87%) owned Smartphone of their own, while the rest of the students as much as 7 persons (13%) do not have Smartphone, (2) 42 students (87%) stated that they  have Smartphone which connected to internet all the timet, while the rest of the students as much as 6 persons (13%) stated the vice versa, (3) Smartphone application which can be developed is the multi-platform semi-online application with  HTML5 base.   Key words: smartphone, history learning media, and multi-platform Abstrak:  Penelitian ini berusaha untuk menggambarkan tentang penggunaan smartphone dan internet di kalangan mahasiswa yang dapat dijadikan dasar dalam pengembangan sebuah aplikasi. Penelitian kualitatif-deskriptif ini dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan staf pengajar dan survei terhadap 54 orang mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sebelas Maret. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat 47 orang (87%) telah memiliki smartphone pribadi, sedangkan sisanya sebanyak 7 orang (13%) tidak memiliki smartphone, (2) terdapat 42 orang (87%) menyatakan bahwa mereka memiliki smartphone yang selalu terhubung dengan internet setiap saat, sedangkan sisanya sebanyak 6 orang (13%) menyatakan tidak, (3) Aplikasi smartphone yang dapat dikembangkan adalah aplikasi multi-platform semi-online berbasis HTML5.   Kata kunci: smartphone, media pembelajaran sejarah, dan multi-platform

Abstract

The learning process cannot be separated from the use of teaching materials that play a role to achieve the competencies that must be achieved by the learners. The purpose of this research is to identify the developmental stages of Predict Observe Explain (POE)-based thematic teaching materials, quality, and effectiveness of teaching materials to improve the learners' learning outcomes. This is a research and development technique. The development of this product is done through the design model of ADDIE learning system, i.e. (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, (5) and evaluation. The results show that the POE-based thematic teaching materials has excellent quality on aspects of graphics and material with the score 4,52 and score 4,75 respectively from the aspects of readability, linguistic, and presentation according to the learners as the users of the product. Furthermore, the effectiveness test results show that the average class score that does not use POE-based thematic materials is 75,72, whereas that using POE thematic materials is 82,08. Therefore, the average score in the experimental class is higher than the control one. The Sig. shows 0,010 &lt;0,05, then H0 is rejected and H1 accepted. It is concluded that there is a significant value difference between the control and experimental class.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran metode ceramah plus dan drill terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada kompetensi dasar efisiensi penggunaan tempat tidur rumah sakit pada mahasiswa Prodi D3 RM STIKes Mitra Husada Karanganyar. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment pretest posttest group design. Data diolah dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan paired t-test dan independent t-test. Keseluruhan subjek penelitian adalah 118 mahasiswa. Hasil Penelitian berdasarkan hasil uji Paired Samples Test menunjukkan bahwa semua pasangan variabel pair 1, pair 2, pair 3, pair 4 mempunyai nilai p atau sig = 0,000 (<0,05) maka h0 ditolak . Hal ini berarti terdapat perbedaan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah pemberian metode pembelajaran melalui metode ceramah plus dan metode dril, sehingga metode pembelajaran melalui metode ceramah plus dan metode dril dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar responden. Hasil Uji Independent Samples T Test menunjukkan bahwa variabel motivasi belajar mempunyai nilai p atau sig = 0,000 (<0,05), maka Ho ditolak atau motivasi belajar responden melalui metode pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah plus dan metode dril benar-benar berbeda. Pada variabel hasil belajar mempunyai nilai p atau sig = 0,000 (? <0,05), maka Ho ditolak. Hal ini berarti terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar melalui metode pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode ceramah plus dan metode dril. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran Ceramah Plus dan Metode Dril terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar sangat berbeda. This means that there are differences in learning motivation and learning outcomes before and after giving a lecture mode of learning methods and methods plus drill, so the method of learning through lecture method plus and drill method can increase learning motivation and learning outcomes of respondents. Independent Test Results Samples T Test showed that the variables of learning motivation or sig has a value of p = 0.000 (<0.05), then Ho is rejected or motivation to learn the respondent through the method of learning by lecture method plus and drill method is completely different. On learning outcome variable has a value of p or sig = 0.000 (? <0.05), then Ho is rejected. This means that there are differences in learning outcomes through a learning method using plus lecture and drill method. Concluded that there are differences in the effect of Learning Method Lectures Plus and Method Dril toward learning motivation and learning outcomes are very different. Drill method is better than the lecture method plus.
