Abstract

Students’ understanding of mathematis concept in mathematic lesson become the background of this research, many students don’t yet real material of the lesson at home and the students are least responsible toword assignment that are gave by the teacher. The purpose of this research is to know: 1) Resitasi method is effective that is used in mathematic lesson, and 2) Students’ understanding of mathematic concept at class of XI IPA SMAN 2 Lengayang which use resitasi method is more  good than students’ understanding of mathematis concept by using convensional learning. Based Questionnaires that is gave for 26 students’, so it can be seen that resitasi method is verry effective which is used in mathematic lesson, because the analysis of quetionnaires are very effective criteria 77,88%. To see students’ understanding of mathematis concept is done hyphotesis test by using uji t one step. In bnefly, it is got hyphotesis are 0,043 with P-value . In summary, Students’ understanding of mathematis concept uses resitasi method which is more good than students’ understanding of mathematis concept by applying convensional learning.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the phenonema indicating  that the students understanding of mathematical concept have still low, that can be seen from the completion percentage of I-semester point of VII-grade students of SMPN 28 Padang. This was because the students do not concern with learning. The purpose of this research is to know whether the student understanding of mathematical concept by using the active learning strategy with Guided Note Taking (GNT) type was better than the student understanding of mathematical concept by applying the conventional one of VII-grade students of SMPN 28 Padang. This was experimental research. The population in this research  the VII-grade students of SMPN 28 Padang of the year 2013/2014, and they consist of seven classes with random sampling technique. The selected classes are VII.8 class as an experimental class and VII.5 class as a control. The instruments used in this research was final tests. The form of tests provided was essay with the number of 8 problems with reliability of 0.918. From the results of hypothesis analysis, it is obtained that P-value is 0.001 so that the hypothesis is accepted on the real level of α = 0.05. It can be summarized that the students understanding of mathematical concept by applying the active learning strategy with Guided Note Taking (GNT) type was better than that by using the conventional one for the VII-grade students of  SMPN 28 Padang.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the fear of asking students and issue an               opinion on the matter is not yet understood and a low student comprehension of mathematical concepts. This study aims to assess the development of the math concept comprehension and determine whether the student math concept comprehension  by applying strategies active learning type Giving Question and Answer Getting accompanied quiz better math concept comprehension that students using conventional teaching class XI Tourism student of SMKN 6 Padang. This type of research is experimental research. The population in this study were students of class XI BU1, XI TKK, BO2 XI, XI PH2 listed in the Academic Year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling, which was chosen as the experimental class XI BU as a control class XI TKK. The instrument used is the final test learning in the form of essays. The data analysis technique used is the t-test of the parties with MINITAB software. Based on the analysis of data obtained with P-value less than 0.015, the research hypothesis is accepted so that we can conclude the development of students math concept comprehension better by applying strategy active learning type Giving and Getting Answers Question with quiz and students math concept comprehension by implementing strategies active learning type  Giving Question and Answer Getting a better math concept comprehension students with conventional learning at the level of 95%.

Abstract

This research is supported by conventional learning process, so that students learning styles are less accommodation. In fact, the students understanding of mathematical concept are very low. It seems from the results of grade nine at junior high school 35 Padang. The purpose of this research is to know students understanding of mathematical concept by applying Genius Learning Strategy is better than students understanding of mathematical concept by applying conventional learning. The kind of this research isnexperimental research by designing randomized research to subject. Form of test used is a form of essay with a reliability test is . The data analysis technique used is the one party t test with the help of MINITAB. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at              and the results obtained from testing the hypothesis P-Value  means less than , then the hypothesis in this study received. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts that apply Genius Learning strategies are better than student understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning grade nine junior high school 35 Padang .

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe background of this research is because the low understanding in mathematics of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 4 sutera. The purpose of this study was to determine how the development of students understanding of concepts during the learning of mathematics with a “Bisnis Berisiko” with quis and find out if the students understanding of mathematical concepts Junior High School VII SMP 4 Sutera that uses techniques” Bisnis Berisiko” Quiz with a better understanding of the mathematical concepts students with conventional teaching junior High School VII SMP 4 Sutera. This is the kind of experiment research, with the subject random. The population of this research is all of VII grade students SMP Negeri 4 sutera that consists of and clasres. The sample is taken randomly and VII.1 as a experiment class and VII.2 as a control class. The instrument of this research is the quizzes to check progress of students concepts and find test with indicator consept understanding and sclaring based on analytic “rubric”. The form of test is a essay concept with reliable test  is 0,873. The analysis data used is the test of t with MINITAB software. Based of result in analysis data found that two sample classes are distributed normally and having the homogeny variation in a level 95%. The hypothesis testing find P-value = 0,006 and it’s smaller than at  = 0,05. So, it’s can concluded that the student’s concepts understanding by using “Bisnis Berisiko” technique is better than the conventional learning in VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 4 sutera.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was background by learning activity and mathematics conceptual understanding the students still low where students more understood explanation their friends than teacher. This research was aimed to description development of mathematics students activity and to knew whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students by using Reciprocal Teaching approachment better than that of students by using the conventional learning in class VIII of MTsN Model Padang. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The data analysis using t-test assisted with MINITAB was found that  greater than and P-value less than α value. This result signified that H0 was rejected. Thus, it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students by using Reciprocal Teaching approachment better than that of students by using the conventional learning. Whereas the development of mathematics students activity using Reciprocal Teaching approachment as generally was increased in each meeting.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research based on lowest of students understanding of mathematical concept, the fear of them to give their opinion or  answer the teacher’s questions. Also, students do not active in learning process in class VIII SMPN 38 Sijunjung. The purpose of this research is to know student’s understanding of mathematical concept by using learning active guided teaching is better than using convensional strategy at students class VIII SMPN 38 Sijunjung. Kind of this research is experiment by using random research about subject instrument used in this  with research is test understanding of mathematical concept concept. Kind of the test is essay reliabilitas of test 0,7. Based on result of data analized knowed that sample class are normal and homegenous. The result of hyphotesis test is p-value is smaller than α, so the hyphotesis is acceptance.it was that the mathematical conceptual understanding of the students taught by using learning active strategy guided teaching is better than using convensional  learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted based on the phenomena indicating that the students tended to be noisy during the learning process and they got low understanding on mathematics concept. This research aimed to reveal whether the use of MURDER technique of cooperative strategy collaborated with Number Heads could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of conventional technique. This was an experimental research. The data gotten then was analyzed by using t-test assisted with software MINITAB. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that P-value was 0.019 which was smaller than α = 0.05. This result indicated that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using MURDER technique of cooperative strategy collaborated with Number Heads was better than that of students taught by using conventional technique in which the level of the reliability was 95%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the phenomena showing that the students’ understanding on mathematics concept was still low and they had less attention to the teacher’s explanation. This research was designed for revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Listener Team active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 26 Solok Selatan registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. By using random sampling technique. The instrument of the research was a post-test. The data collected in this research was analyzed by using t-test. The result of data analysis showed that the value of tcalculated was bigger than ttable. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Listener Team active learning strategy.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis research was conducted due to the student’s low understanding on mathematics concept. This was aimed at revealing whether the use of Trading Places active learning strategy could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of the conventional one in class XI IPS of SMA PGRI 1 Padang. This was an experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class XI registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. The instrument of the research was an essay test whose reliability was 0,836. The result of data analysis indicated the average score of the students’ understanding on mathematics concept in experimental class was 60,04 and in the control class was 48,96. As the result of hypothesis test showed that P-value < α, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, the use of Trading Places active learning strategy could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of the conventional one in class XI IPS of SMA PGRI 1 Padang.
