Abstract

Problem this study is focused on the noise produced by the silencer of vehicle which can be very dangerous for our health especially  for the health  of those who live in urban areas. There have been many studies on  how to  reduce the noise of produced  by the silencer of vehicle conducted by the experts using various research methods such as by changing the construction form or by changing the material that can be  used  to  reduce  the  noise produced  by the silencer of the vehicle. In  this research,  the writer conducted a  study on how to reduce the noise produced by the silencer of a vehicle using of composite silencer of the same size and standard in reducing the noise produced by the silencer of Toyota Kijang 7K. The composite was  made  of  the Rockwool fibers and polyester resins (thermosetting) using the hand-lay up   method. The study was conducted in a laboratory using the laboratory equipment such as sound  pressure  level meter ,engine  tune-up  tester  (Okuda Koki ea-800a). The data of this study (the noise) was obtained through the hemispherical method with the distance of one meter from the silencer and divided into four point. The noise  measurement was done in the pivots of X+, X-, Y+ and Z- at each point by Sound Pressure  Level  Meter.  The  other data taken  were the temperature  and  the  velocity  of exhaust gas  flow on all of the  four  point. The data  obtained were analyzed  through  the software  of  Microsoft Excel. The result of this study shows the highest reduction of noise level (0.93 % = 0.18 dB).

Abstract

Topics problems in this study focused on dental materials grain thresher who frequently suffered damage to the grain thresher machine (power thresher). Thresher teeth made of steel (KSTY) will be treated hardening (pack carburizing). Many studies have been conducted by researchers about how to obtain a surface hardness of the iron Benton. And already there are many research methods that have been taken include changing the form of heat treatment, holding time of carbon and so forth. However, no one has applied to the tooth thresher grain (power thresher). This study, the authors conducted research on how to obtain the material hardness thresher teeth using a cheap iron KSTY concrete more resistant. This research is to find how much iron concrete surface hardness by varying holding time for estimating the time of carbon retaining suitable for metal surface hardening process of concrete KSTY. The method I use is the reset method by comparing the hardness of steel with a hardness standard KSTY iron that has been treated of carbon (pack carburizing) for variation of carbon different holding time. The anded replace the power thresher teeth. The research using laboratory test equipment such as Spectrum metrics (micro test structure) and Frank fin no test (Vickers hardness). Micro-structure of the test data were extracted using standard SNI 07-0308-1989, surface hardness using Vickers method. Test data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel software. The results of data processing can be concluded, that the process of carbon pack carburizing with detention time of three hours and followed by quenching process is very suitable for use to increase the surface hardness (HV) = 3178.45 N/mm2 on dental materials thresher power (iron concrete KSTY) with an average 46.22% increase in violence.

Abstract

There  have  been  many studies on  how to  reduce the noise of produced  by the silencer of vehicle conducted by the experts using various research methods such as by changing the construction  form  or  by  changing  the  material  that  can  be  used  to  reduce  the  noise produced  by the silencer of the vehicle.  In  this research,  the writer conducted  a  study on how  to  reduce  the  noise  produced  by the silencer of a  vehicle using  magnet force and  to examine the ability of magnet force to reduce the noise produced by the silencer of Toyoto Kijang  7K  by  comparing  the  ability  of  magnet  force  to  that  of  composite  silencer  of  the same size and standard in reducing the noise produced by the silencer of Toyota Kijang 7K. The composite was made of the Rock wool fibers and polyester resins (thermosetting) using the  hand-lay  up  method.  The  study  was  conducted  in  a  laboratory  using  the  laboratory equipment such as sound pressure level meter, engine tune-up tester (Okuda Koki ea-800a), Flux  meter  and  Multimeter.  The  data  of  this  study  (the  noise)  was  obtained  through  the hemispherical method with the distance of one meter from the silencer and divided into four point. The noise measurement was done in the pivots of X+, X-, Y+ and Z- at each point by Sound Pressure Level Meter. The other data taken were the temperature and the velocity of exhaust  gas  flow  on  all  of  the  four  points.  The  data  obtained  were  analyzed  through  the software of Microsoft Excel. The result of this study shows that magnetic field can influence the level of the noise produced by a standard-type silencer. The highest reduction of noise level  (3.99  %  =  1.14  dB)  occurred  in  a  standard-type  silencer  by  using  a  one  ampere electric  current  when  the  position  of  magnet  was  on  selected  point  (in  let)  silencer. Magnetic field installed in the composite silencer did not reduce the noise level.

Abstract

The research of disign and produce of coconut milk machine with combining of scrapper unit and squeezer that work together, was be done in the workshop of Politechnic machine in UNP. Then was done the testing technique through machine to know the macnine operation some turning Variation. The purpose of this research are to produce a prototype of coconut milk machine in a squeezer unit and scrapper to do the technique testing and economic analyze to know how much the pays of squeezer operation the method that use in this reseach are manufacturing prototype and machine testing operation. The result of machine operation at coconut milk process can be got the average the squeezer capacity. They are at the slots distance about 0,3 mm with capacity 85 kg/hour, 0,5 mm with capacity 79,2 kg/hour. 1 mm with capacity 78,96 kg/hour and 1,5 mm the capacity 57,2 kg/hour. The weigh of coconut milk that produce about 15 coconut at slots of distance 0,3 mm is 2,68 kg, 1,5 mm with the weigh 1,44 kg from those economic analysis car get the pay at milk machine operational about Rp 76 / kg scrapper coconut.

Abstract

This study focused on the manufacture of grain drying equipment was needed by farmers. Much research has been done by previous researchers about how to drain the rice in a relatively short time. And already there are many methods and tools of research that has been done including changing the form of construction, replacing the material in order to produce a good quality grain drying. In this paper, the authors conducted a study on how to make grain dryers and do research drying system. This research looks at how adaptable it’s in drying grain. The method I use is the reset method by comparing the natural drying and drying device made. Research using laboratory test equipment such as Airflow, digital scales and thermometers. Test data taken (values drought grain) using measurement methods directly on objects. Test data was analyzed using Microsoft Excel software. The results of processing these data it is concluded that the optimum conditions for drying grain with it’s that are made are in position 1, the air temperature is 420C grain drying, grain flow rate 0.1 Lt / dt, hot air flow rate 0.68 m / dt, grain drying value 1060 gr/lt.

Abstract

Subject matter of this research is focused on the manufacture and research tools husk furnace fuels are useful for generating hot air speed that is used to replace electric heating element before. The flow of hot air coming from the furnace will be used to dry husks of grain. Many previous researchers who have made a husk furnace with a variety of methods and construction, replacing the material in order to produce an optimal temperature. In this paper, the authors conducted a study about how to make tools husk furnace and do research on the tool. This research looks at how adaptable tool to generate a stream of hot air. The method I use is the reset method to find the amount of insulation needed to achieve the speed of air drying temperature. Research using laboratory test equipment such as Airflow meter and thermometer. Test data is retrieved (the speed of air temperature and the amount of insulation required). Measurement methods performed directly on the object of research. Test data were analyzed by using the software Microsoft Excel. The data processing results obtained that the most optimum conditions for temperature 42.60 C, the rate of air velocity of 2.84 m/s with number five bulkheadd.

Abstract

Model Solar Chimney dengan ukuran 3x3 m2 luas atap rumah sebagai kolektor pelat datar telah dipelajari dalam penelitian ini. Udara panas keluaran sistem ini digunakan untuk pengeringan bahan hasil pertanian dengan sistem tray truck dryer telah dipelajari sebelumnya. Kedua sistem ini digabung untuk dijadikan terintegrasi pada daerah jalur khatulistiwa dimana membutuhkan pengeringan bahan hasil pertaniannya (contoh kulit manis, ikan, dll). Temperatur pengeringan bahan ini berkisar 41oC sampai dengan 80oC. Kondisi bahan ini dapat digunakan pada sistem pengeringan ini. Bahan yang dikeringkan berada pada temperatur pengeringannya akan menghasilkan jenis yang paling bagus dan maksimal, serta lebih bersih berada pada sistem tersebut.  Sistem ini menjadi alternatif pengeringan bahan pada daerah yang membutuhkan dijalur khatulistiwa yang masih belum memperoleh aliran listrik. Pemanfaatan energi surya secara langsung akan lebih optimal dalam kebutuhan sehari-hari masyarakat pada teknologi ini, sehingga ketergantungan dengan energi lain (minyak bumi, kayu, dll) berkurang dengan memanfaatkan sumber utama energi yaitu energi surya. Atap rumah sebagai kolektor pelat datar dan rumah pengering pada sistem solar chimney menjadi alaternatif energi untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari.
