Abstract

The essential matter of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is how to build an entity that mimics human intelligence in the way of learning of a phenomenon in a real life to gain knowledge of it and uses the knowledge to solve problems related to it. Based on the findings of intelligenct characteristic displayed by the human brain in growing and generating new knowledge by fusing information perceived by sensory organs, we develop brain-inspired Knowledge-Growing System (KGS) that is, a system that is capable of growing its knowledge along with the accretion of information as the time passes. The essential matter of KGS is knowledge-growing method which is based on a new algorithm called Observation Multi-time A3S (OMA3S) information-inferencing fusion method. In this paper we deliver the development of KGS along with some examples of KGS application to a real-life problem. Based on the state-of-the-art of AI and approaches to construct OMA3S method as KG method as well as validations to assess the system performance, we state that brain-inspired KGS is a novel field in AI.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the international world impacts to the use of cyberspace which covers all aspects of national life. Faced to this condition, Indonesian government needs to understand the state of cyber security and build it so that able to address any kind of threat which comes through cyberspace. In addition to internal conditions, the scope of the external noteworthy to be considered due the nature of cyber threats are transnational, cross the line of sovereignty, and has been seen as a common threat by the countries of the world. ASEAN has become a forum for Indonesias to achieve national interests in order to support national security in the cyber field. Through the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) on cybersecurity initiatives, defense diplomacy strategy directed to increasing mutual trust (confidence building measures) between states and reduce any potential threats that may result from the external sphere. Those efforts, resulted in an agreement in the form of point of contacts between states and a shared vision for continuous training of cybersecurity in the form of seminars and workshops to build the capacity of human resources. Strategies and efforts are analyzed through a qualitative approach and primary data were collected through interviews with 15 informants from various government agencies. In addition, literature, journals, and related documents are also used as supporting data.

Abstract

Business Process Management (BPM) menggunakan Teknologi Informasi (TI) sebagai salah satu sarana dalam merealisasikan tujuannya. Aktivitas BPM yang berlangsung dalam cyberspace selain memberikan keuntungan yang banyak, juga berdampak pada munculnya kerentanan-kerentanan dan ancaman-ancaman cyber dalam keamanan informasi BPM itu sendiri. Prosedur Mission Assurance dibutuhkan untuk menjamin keamanan informasi dari ancaman cyber yang bersifat dinamis dan terus berkembang. Dalam kajian ini diidentifikasikan peranan Mission Assurance dalam memberikan tingkat jaminan yang memadai untuk keberhasilan misi BPM. Identifikasi jaminan dan analisis dilakukan menggunakan Mission Assurance Category (MAC) dan Mission Assurance Analysis Protocol (MAAP). Hasil kajian menunjukkan Mission Assurance dapat memberikan pengukuran untuk menjamin misi dari BPM tercapai. Mission Assurance juga dapat mencegah dan mereduksi dampak-dampak dari serangan-serangan cyber yang kemungkinan dapat dialami oleh BPM.Kata kunci—Ancaman cyber; Business Process Management; Mission Assurance; Mission Assurance Analysis Protocol; Mission Assurance Category

Abstract

Quick-and-accurate decision is a primary requirement for achieving a mission’s successfulness in many organizations whether they are militaries or civilians.  The larger and more complex the scope of a mission the longer the time will be needed to perform decision-making. A complex mission such as retaining a sustainable mission of aircrafts deployed in certain remote bases will require a 24-hour of standby on-site or off-site maintenance teams. The most common problem arisen from humans in such situations is the fatigue that can occur anytime to any of them during a continuing mission and of course, it can affect the continuity of the mission and delay or disappoint the mission achievement. In this paper we address the concept of the utilization of Multiagent Collaborative Computation (MCC) paradigm in supporting the decision-making process in aircrafts maintenance during a sustainable mission in remote bases. The ultimate goal of the MCC-based aircraft maintenance system is comprehensive information regarding the maintenance procedures in order to keep the aircrafts serviceable during the mission implementation. In this paper we also present the technique to obtain the comprehensive information as the basis for decision-making called A3S (Arwin-Adang-Aciek-Sembiring) information-inferencing fusion method

Abstract

Proyek kolaborasi pengembangan Korean Fighter Experiment/Indonesian Fighter Experiment (KFX/IFX) Joint Development antara Indonesia dan Korea Selatan dibangun atas dasar keinginan Korea Selatan dan Indonesia untuk membangun kemandirian industri pertahanan di tengah keberadaan negara-negara besar dalam laju pengembangan alat utama sistem persenjataan dunia. Proyek ini pada prosesnya mengalami hambatan dan tarik ulur di antara kedua negara. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bagaimana hambatan tersebut dapat terjadi. Artikel ini menggunakan kerangka teoretis ekonomi kolaborasi dalam proses akusisi pertahanan secara makro. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif untuk menganalisis secara deskriptif relasi Military-Industrial Complex (MIC) dalam proyek KFX/IFX. Hasil yang dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah pemetaan relasi antara Indonesia-Korea Selatan-Amerika Serikat sebagai segitiga besi pertahanan internasional dalam proyek KFX/IFX.

Abstract

This paper discusses the design of the architecture of an information fusion processor. This processor emulates the way of human thinking, namely by drawing conclusions from the obtained collection of information. Architecture design for this processor is based on Knowledge Growing System (KGS) algorithm. KGS is a novelty in Artificial Intelligence field. Compared to other AI methods, KGS focuses on the observation of the process of the knowledge growth within human brain based on information received from the surrounding environment. By using KGS algorithm, this processor works by receiving inputs from a set of sensors and possible hypotheses obtained after the processing of the information. The processor generates a value which is called as Degree of Certainty (DoC), which show the most possible hypothesis among all alternative ones. The Processor Elements which are used to perform KGS algorithm is designed based on systolic array architecture. The design of this processor is realized with VHSIC Hardware Design Language (VHDL) and synthesized by using FPGA Quartus II.13.1. The results show that the data path which has been design is able to perform the mechanism of KGS computation.
