Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted based on the fact indicating that the students’ understanding on mathematics concept was`stiil low, and the students had less concern on the teacher’s explanation. This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of Listening Team active learning strategy could give better effect on the students’ understanding on mathematics concept than that of the conventional learning in class XI IPS SMAN 2 Bayang. This was an exsperimental research which used random sampling technique. In this research class XI IPS.3 was`chosen as the experimental class, and class XI IPS.4 as the control one.the instrument of the research was a post-test. The test was in the form of essay whose r11 was 0,819. The data gotten was analyzed by using t-test assisted with MINITAB. Based on the result of hypothesis test, it was found that P-value (0,000) was smaller than α (0,05) indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Thus, it was concluded that the use of Listening Team active learning strategy could improve the student’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of the conventional learning in class XI IPS of SMAN 2 Bayang.

Abstract

Abstract. To increase and improve PISA rankings (Programme for International of Student Assessment) of Indonesian students not only starts from the students, but also teachers and prospective teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students as prospective teachers to solve problems of high-level PISA (most difficult) is level 5. This study was a descriptive study using a qualitative approach to describe the ability of each student in solving PISA question. The subjects were students taking the Teaching Mathematics I course of Mathematics Education Program FKIP Unsyiah. Data analysis in qualitative research based on the results of the data collection process in the form of field notes, documentation, and interviews. Assessment conducted on students ability to solve problems using the PISA assessment rubric. Furthermore, the score obtained is converted into the interval level of ability. The results showed only one student (14,28 %) of the seven students who have an excellent ability to resolve the matter appropriately. Meanwhile, three students (42,85 %) experienced only a mistake on the problems at the problem of the distance down. However, the ability of the three students vary based on the accuracy of the analysis in solving aspects. For the third ability of other students (42,85 %) were still low due to the settlement of questions that do not quite right with the ability to be at sufficient levels. Based on the results of this study are expected each faculty can use international issues as a matter of PISA in learning, so that students get used to solve the problems of non-routine to improve their ability to understand and solve problems, which can contribute to the future of teaching practice. Keywords: PISA, most difficult level, students as prospective teachers

Abstract

Abstract: General purpose of this research is to get information about mastery of mathematics concept and improvement the ability of senior high school 11 in Banda Aceh student in creative thinking with Problem Posing model. Understanding the concept is the ability of students to repeat and link the concept that has been studied with the material being studied. Creative thinking is the ability to reason organically and evaluate the quality of a reason systematically. Problem Posing learning model is one form of cooperative learning model that emphasizes the participation and activities of students to find their own material (information) lessons to be learned through the materials available. This research was conducted in senior high school 11 in Banda Aceh especially class XII-IPA1 as experiment class and XII-IPA2 as sample class. The research type is experiment with quantitative approach. Instrument test in the form of a description of 4 questions with the highest value of 100 and the lowest 0. The instrument is used to determine the ability mastery of concepts and creative thinking of students. Before being used to test the students 'creative thinking ability in the implementation of the research, the test questions are tested to other schools to know the validity, reliability, power of the pretest and posttest. Technique data processing is analyzed with quantitative statistics tests students' creative thinking ability. For data processing researcher using SPSS 17.0. Normality test results can be seen the value of pretest class expression and control class sig. = 0.300; 0.120> 0.05 means both classes are normally distributed. Based on the calculation, the value of sig (2-tailed) = 0.002 / 2 = 0.001 shows that sig. (1-tailed) <0,05 so it can be concluded that the improvement of concept comprehension and creative thinking of experimental class students is better than improvement of student's creative thinking conventional class.Keywords : Mastery of Mathematical Concept, Concept Understanding, Creative Thinking Ability, Posing ProblemAbstrak: Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang penguasaan konsep matematika dan peningkatan kemampuan siswa  SMA 11 Banda Aceh dalam berpikir kreatif dengan model Problem Posing. PEmahaman konsep merupakan kemampuan siswa mengulang kembali dan mengaitkan konsep yang sudah dipelajarinya dengan materi yang sedang dipelajari. Berpikir kreatif adalah kemampuan memberi alasan secara terorganisasi dan mengevaluasi kualitas suatu alasan secara sistematis.  Model pembelajaran Problem Posing merupakan salah satu bentuk model pembelajaran kooperatif yang menekankan pada partisipasi dan aktivitas siswa untuk mencari sendiri materi (informasi) pelajaran yang akan dipelajari melalui bahan-bahan yang tersedia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA 11 Banda Aceh khususnya kelas XII-IPA1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XII-IPA2 sebagai kelas sampel. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrument tes berbentuk uraian sebanyak 4 soal dengan nilai tertinggi 100 dan terendah 0. Instrumen tersebut digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan penguasaan konsep dan berpikir kreatif siswa. Sebelum digunakan untuk menguji kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada pelaksanaan penelitian, soal tes dilakukan uji soal ke sekolah lain untuk diketahui validitas, reliabilitas, daya yaitu preetes dan postes.Teknik pengolahan data dianalisis dengan statistik kuantitatif tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Untuk pengolahan data peneliti menggunakan bantuan SPSS 17.0. Hasil uji normalitas dapat diketahui nilai pretes kelas ekspeimen dan kelas control sig. = 0,300; 0,120 > 0,05 berarti kedua kelas berdistribusi normal. Berdasarkan perhitungan diperoleh nilai sig.(2-tailed) =  0,002 / 2 = 0,001 menunjukkan bahwa sig.(1-tailed) < 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari peningkatan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas konvensional.Kata kunci : Penguasaan Konsep Matematika, Pemahaman konsep, Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif, Problem Posing.
