Abstract

Ever since the concept of Quality of Work Life (QWL) was first used over 30 years ago, arrange of definition and theoretical constructs have succeeded each other with the aim of mitigating the many problems facing the concePT  This study was aimed to improve employees motivation by implementing QWL programs in the cattle fattening industry as a case study.  The research showed that according to Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), priority of main factors are: (1) participative job design; (2) democratic supervision; (3) participation on profit sharing; (4) quality circle; (5) participation in decision making process. Results of this analysis indicated that the formal program was suggested as a strategic alternative in implementing QWL. This finding contributes to operationalization of the QWL theory. Drawing on the dependent nature of employees and organizations, the implication are that the organization must provide support structures, such as employee development and career advancement opportunities, when seeking to transform the QWL. In this way, it can improve working conditions, achieve higher motivation from individual employees, and thus improve the performance of the organization.Keywords: Proses Hierarki Analitik, Job Design, Motivasi, Partisipasi, Quality of Work Life, Quality Circle.

Abstract

The agricultural potential in Indonesia still becomes the excellence because Indonesia is the agrarian country. The role of agricultural sector in the national economy is empirically proven to be real enough both in quite normal economy and when the economy facing the crisis. This is seen from two important indicators i.e. the contribution to the sector of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and the labor absorption that always dominates in the agricultural field.This is caused by the lack of competence of farmer to be able to develop in the agricultural sector. With this is needed the farmer competence in forming the farming capacity building so the farmer can play the role in the community and can compete in the current globalization era. Based on the above problem, the research aims to: (1) analyze how the competence is owned by the farmer in Sumatera, (2) obtain the picture of farmer superior competence model in Sumatera to form the capacity building of highland vegetable farmer, and (3) give any solution which should be done in order to be able to increase the farmer competence in Sumatera. In this research, for analyzing the farmer superior competence and the making of superior competence model in forming the capacity building of highland vegetable farming in Karo District, it is used the ISM, AHP, and IPA.

Abstract

Activities of tourist visit provide opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to stand, making the city of Bogor as one of the city that has an increasing number of SME’s. Failure to exploit the potential of the center to develop its organization and social capital owned SME’s indicate that SME’s still face problems of low quality human resources. SME’s mostly poorly educated human resources with technical expertise, competence, entrepreneurship and management are modest. On the other hand the knowledge inherent in members of an organization need to be updated and transferred to still have a value that is integrated with the vision and mission of the organization. On the basis of need, there is a knowledge management approach known as knowledge management.This study aims to (1) analyze the characteristics of social capital owned SME’s organizations Bogor, (2) analyze the characteristics of knowledge management in Bogor SME’s organization, (3) analyze the contribution and role of social capital on organizational knowledge management implementation, (4) analyze the relationship between social capital variables with the variables of organizational knowledge management practices of SME’s Bogor. This study used structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis.

Abstract

Abstract: Employees are the most valuable asset in every organization. The purpose of this study is toanalyze and determine the dominant factors that affect employee performance. Latent variables in this study are individual factors, psychological factors, and organizational factors as exogenous variables as well as performance of the employee as the endogenous variable. The results obtained from Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis suggest that employee performance is determined by creativity and innovation. Employeeperformance is influenced by individual factors and psychological factors. Individual factors that influence employee performance are reflected by indicators of ability and skill. Psychological factors that directly affect performance of the employees are represented by the learning process. While organizational factors reflected by leadership, job design, and, supervision do not affect employees performance. Abstract

The decrease layur fish export in Pelabuhanratu. The roof of the problems are human resources or human capital, performance and supply chain problems. The purpose of this study is formulating the strategy of increasing fisherman performance strategy in ribbon fish supply chain through develop human capital. The increase of fisherman performance is got from the observe activity depth interview with the people who are related to and fishbone chart analized to identify problems which happened in fisherman that cause decreasing fish export and analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is used for the strategy to get a strategy which is suitanable with the fisherman. From the analyze result that we have done with strategy wisdom we are got is increasing training strategy which is adapted with the requirements we hope that it can increase fisherman performance, we hope that the welfare of fisherman will increase.

Abstract

Agricultural sector, especially in highland vegetables are considered to have the potential and prospects to support diversification. It should have a comparative value advantage. Comparative advantages are obtained with supply chain management and risk management therefore needs a model of optimization. But often the common agricultural activities appear particularly at risk of supply chain distribution channel. Risk management is essential to minimize the risks and part of the supply chain management. The purpose of this study are (1) analyze how the supply chain flow in highland vegetable Agam District, West Sumatra and Karo District, North Sumatra, (2) knowing the model optimization and risk management in the vegetable supply chain distribution channels in Agam District, West Sumatra and Karo District Karo, North Sumatra, and (3) analyze how to minimize risk in the highland vegetable distribution channels in Agam District, West Sumatra and Karo District, North Sumatra. In analyzing the model optimization and risk management in the supply chain distribution channel highland vegetables in Agam District, West Sumatra and Karo District, North Sumatra used AHP (Analysis Hierarchy Process) and for risk minimization used the ISM (Intrepretive Structural Modeling). The results of the study will provide a model optimization and risk management in the supply chain distribution channel highland vegetables in order to have a comparative value.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pelaksanaan Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA) akan dimulai pada awal 2016 sesuai dengan kesepakatan yang ditandatangai oleh semua Kepala Negara ASEAN. Salah satu kesepakatan dalam MEA adalah aliran bebas tenaga kerja ahli dan trampil termasuk di bidang jasa Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia (MSDM). Praktisi MSDM di Indonesia tidak sepenuhnya siap menghadapi persaingan yang semakin terbuka ini. Kompetensi praktisi Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia (MSDM) di Indonesia perlu diteliti secara mendalam untuk mengetahui keberadaannya dilihat dari sisi praktisi MSDM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metoda statistik deskriptif untuk memetakan pendapat, persepsi, dan opini praktisi MSDM tentang kompetensinya. Responden yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini meliputi praktisi MSDM di Jabodetabek serta kota-kota besar di pulau Jawa, sesuai dengan lokasi utama organisasi/perusahaan swasta. Kerangka sampling yang dipergunakan adalah purposive non random sampling yang ditujukan pada anggota Perhimpunan Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia (PMSM) Indonesia melalui studi kuisioner secara online. Responden yang telah mengisi kuisioner secara lengkap sebanyak 250 orang. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa latar belakang pendidikan yang berkarir di MSDM beragam dari berbagai lulusan dan didominasi dari Jurusan Manajemen, kemudian disusul Psikologi, Teknik, dan Hukum. Evolusi profesi MSDM di Indonesia menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar praktisi MSDM Indonesia (35%) masih terlibat dalam aktivitas administrasi dan Hubungan Industrial, sebanyak 21% sudah terlibat dalam pengambilan keputusan yang strategis, dan 20% sudah bertindak sebagai mitra strategis dan agen perubahan. Standar kompetensi praktisi MSDM beserta program pengembangan dan sertifikasinya dipersepsikan sangat penting serta memiliki urgensi yang tinggi untuk dikembangkan, walaupun pemerataan kesempatan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi tersebut tidak merata di seluruh Indonesia. Organisasi/perusahaan telah memberikan penghargaan yang signifikan pada profesi MSDM dengan 34,8% posisi tertingginya berada di level direktur, 14% berada di posisi general manager, dan 32,4% di posisi manajer. Lebih dari setengah responden menyatakan kurang siap menghadapi Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA), sehingga proses percepatan pengembangan kompetensi praktisi MSDM di Indonesia perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan daya saingnya dalam kompetisi regional dan global.Kata kunci: Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN, kompetensi, praktisi Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia Indonesia, purposive non random sampling, statistik deskriptif.Abstract. ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) will be implemented at the early 2016 referred to the agreement signed by all ASEAN countries leaders. One of the agreement content is the free flow of skilled labor including Human Resources (HR) professional. Indonesias HR practitioners are not fully ready to face this upcoming more open competition. HR professional competency in Indonesia needs to be examined deeply to find its existence to be seen from HR practitioners point of view. This research uses descriptive statistic method to map ideas, perceptions, and opinions from HR practitioners pertaining their competencies. Respondents come from Jabodetabek area and the big cities in Java Island due to the main location of private companies. Sampling frame is purposive non random sampling to cover members of Indonesia HR Management Association via online questionnaire study. There are 250 respondents who filled the questionnaries completely. Research findings show that the educational background of Indonesias HR practitioners is various and dominated by Management, then followed by Psychology, Technic, and Law. HR evolution in Indonesia indicates mostly being exposed in administration dan industrial relations (35%), 21% has been involved in strategic decision making process, and 20% has demonstrated as strategic partner and change agent. HR competency standard and its development and certification programs are perceived very important and urgent to be developed further, although the uqualization of development opportunity is not well distributed across Indonesia areas. Organization/company has already showed significant recognition to HR profession by giving the highest position at director level (34,8%), General Manager (14%), and Manager (32,4%). More than half respondent stated not ready to face the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), however the acceleration process of HR practitioners competency development program needs to be done in order to enhance the competitiveness in regional and global competition.Keywords: ASEAN Economic Community, competency, descriptive statistic, Indonesias Human Resources practitioner, purposive non random sampling.

Abstract

Fish processing is an important role in post-harvest activities, because fishery products are perishable goods. Therefore we need a fast and precise handling to maintain its quality before it reaches the consumer. There are many kind of fish processing, both traditional and modern such as salting, boiling, and smoking. Entering of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, fishing industries is not less important than other sectors, quality of fishery products and competitiveness is very necessary. To improve the quality of fishery products is should be control the processing and apply of food safety management systems such as Integrated Quality Management Program based on the concept of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP). One of fish processing units was existing in Bogor is Cindy Group (Small Medium Enterprises), they are producing preserved fishmilk. The purposes of the study are: (1) to analyze the level of implementation of the basic eligibility (GMP and SSOP) at Cindy Group, (2) to analyze the suitability of each characteristic quality of product against the requirements of SNI 2717: 2009. The study was conducted at Cindy Group SMEs located Bogor regency. The research method is descriptive with 30 respondents by purposive sampling. The results showed that based on the assessment of the level of implementation of the basic eligibility (GMP and SSOP) using UPI Assessment questionnaire published by Directorate General of the processing and marketing of fishery products, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) showed that SMEs Cindy Group obtained SKP the feasibility value "B" consisting of 4 minor irregularities, 2 major irregularities, and 1 serious irregularities. In quality, preserved milkfish products based on the results of testing Organoleptic and chemical have good quality according to SNI  2717: 2009. The results of organoleptic test using hedonic test showed an average value over than 7 (7 is minimum figure in SNI), indicates that the product can be accepted by consumers. Overall, the level of implementation of the basic eligibility processing program on processing of preserved milkfish in Cindy Group has been quite good, percentage rate of application of the basic feasibility is 92%. This product can be registered to BSN to get the registration number of SNI and feasible to labeled SNI on product packaging.

Abstract

Abstract: The success of SMEs could be seen from their performance. However, until now theperformance measurement still use the traditional way in which views the performance onlyfrom the financial perspective. Therefore, it needs a new performance measurement systemwhich is balance scorecard. Based on the problems, this study aimed at designing a performancemeasurement in SMEs with balance scorecard approach as an attempt to develop thehuman capital and to improve the SMEs’ performance. The study was conducted in BogorSMEs. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling. The samples ofthis study were SMEs owner, related official, and the expert of SMEs and BSC. The datatabulation and analysis were used literature study, focus group discussion, and in-depthinterview. Abstract

Abstrak. Tingkat kecelakaan kerja di Indonesia masih tinggi dan cenderung meningkat setiap tahunnya. Faktor yang paling dominan sebagai penyebab terjadinya kecelakaan di industri berisiko tinggi adalah rendahnya perilaku keselamatan kerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada karyawan Stasiun Pengisian Bulk Elpiji (SPBE) di Wilayah Bogor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model perilaku keselamatan kerja karyawan pada industri berisiko tinggi. Beberapa faktor yang memiliki pengaruh terhadap perilaku keselamatan kerja antara lain: gaya kepemimpinan safety, iklim keselamatan kerja, kepuasan kerja, kelelahan, dan motivasi keselamatan kerja. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh karyawan SPBE di Wilayah Bogor. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik multy stage cluster random sampling dua tahap. Tahap pertama SPBE dipisahkan berdasarkan cluster lokasinya; Bogor Barat, Bogor Timur, Bogor Utara, dan Bogor Tengah. Tahap kedua karyawan SPBE dipisahkan berdasarkan stratifikasi lingkungan kerja; kantor dan lapangan. Sebanyak 100 kuesioner disebarkan, 92 yang kembali dan 69 yang dianalisis. Data responden dianalisis dengan SEM-PLS menggunakan software smart PLS. Model yang terbangun menggambarkan bahwa kepemimpinan safety dengan gaya participating dan delegating memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap iklim keselamatan kerja dan perilaku patuh terhadap prosedur keselamatan kerja, motivasi keselamtan kerja memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap perilaku keselamatan kerja, sedangkan motivasi keselamatan kerja karyawan dipengaruhi oleh iklim keselamatan kerja.Kata kunci: gaya kepemimpinan safety, iklim keselamatan kerja, kecelakaan kerja, motivasi keselamatan kerja, perilaku keselamatan kerja.Abstract. Workplace accident rate in Indonesia is still high and likely to increase each year. The most dominant factor which causes accidents to happen in high-risk industries is because of the low behaviour of the workers safety work. The research was conducted on the employees of LPG Bulk Filling Station (SPBE) in Bogor Region. The aim of this research is conducted to develop a model of the workers safety behavior on high-risk industries. Some of the factors that have an influence on the safety behavior, among others: safety leadership style, safety climate, job satisfaction, fatigue, and safety motivation. The population of this research is all employees of SPBE ini Bogor region. The samples were taken by using multy stage cluster random sampling technique with two stages. The first stage, SPBE separated by location, and the second, employees is separated by working environment; office and field. A total of 100 questionnaires were distributed, of which 92 were returned and 69 were analyzed. Respondent data were analyzed by SEM-PLS using smart PLS software. The resulting model showed that safety leadership by participating and delegating style has a positive effect on safety climate and workers safety behaviour. Workers safety motivation has a positive effect on workers safety behaviour, and workers safety motivation affected by the safety climate.Keywords: safety climate, safety leadership, safety motivation, safety behaviour, workplace accident
