Abstract

Every language may have some entities which may not be owned by another language. The uniqueness of a language is strongly influenced by the culture of its native speakers. Therefore, languages vary cross-culturally. I strongly believe that the way the Javanese people (one of the Indonesian ethnic groups) express politeness is also influenced by the Javanese culture. This article tries to examine the reflection of some concepts of Javanese cultures such as: tata krama, andhap-asor, and tanggap ing sasmita (the language styles, humbling oneself while exalting others, and being able to catch the hidden meaning). The approaches used in this study are based on politeness theory, e.g. Brown and Levinson (1987), Leech (1983), Grice (1975, 1981), and Lakoff (1973, 1990). Finally, this study proves that the forms and the politeness strategies used in Javanese are really bound by the Javanese concepts. As a result, it is almost impossible to conduct politeness in Javanese without comprehending and applying those cultural concepts.

Abstract

The study were investigated antibacterial activity of liquid smoke from coconut shell and its applications of fishball at room temperature (27-28°C) and refrigeration temperature {4±1°C). The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of liquid smokel against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus were determined using broth or agar dilution methods. liquid smoke showed bactericidal effects with P. aeruginosa than S. aureus. MIC of liquid smoke was 0.40°/o against S. aureus and 0.22°/o against P. aeruginosa. Trial in fishball, showed that boiling in 2.5% liquid smoke and storage at 27-28°C and 4±1°C were inhibited the growthof total bacteria and increased shelflife 16 hours and 8 days than no treatment (based on SNI 01-3819-1995), respectively, and retarded the increased in pH and moisture content after storage. The results indicated thatliquid smoke was an effective inhibitor of fishball spoilage.Keywords: antibacterial activity, fishball preservation, liquid smoke, MIC valueKeywords : Garlic, herbal, imunomodulator, phagocytosis, turmeric, zinc.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the sequence of welding and the consequences that occur when the sequence of welding / welding sequence without a supported method of anticipating the occurrence of the pull of welding, the following ways to overcome it. All welding procedures have been implemented, but if not followed by the installation of equipment / tools that support the construction of certain sections, there will be pull welding of large, considering the construction of this very vulnerable Bracket I pull the weld. The position taken by the pull of welding, the center of I Bracket less to the left, less right, less rise, and less down. From the results of this study can be obtained data about the sequence of welding, welding method of the right to obtain maximum results for First Bracket construction welding jobs, find ways to overcome / cope in the event that lead to I pull welding Bracket less to the left, less right, less go up, less down, and get the alignment deviation according to the rule that conditioned. Results deviation below the alignment of the top 0.00 mm, bottom 0.15 mm, left 0.15 mm, right 0.17 mm.

Abstract

An investigation was conducted on Bacillus thuringiensis H-14 local strain grown in coconut water media and Tryptose Phosphate Broth (TPB). The two media were tested against Anopheles aconitus and Culex p. quinquefasciatus mosquito larvae in the Vector Control Research Station laboratory and in Sentinel traps village Kauman Kidul pool, Salatiga. The pathogenicity test on B. thuringiensis H-14 local strain grown in coconut water and TPB against An. aconitus and Cx. p. quinquefasciatus larvae in the laboratory was done according to WHO procedure. This was conducted to determine the LC50 and LC90 which is counted according to the probit analysis. The pathogenicity test result of B. thuringiensis H-14 local strain cultured in coconut water against An. aconitus and Cx. p. quinquefasciatus larvae at 24 hours of exposure, showed the LC50 were 0,04 ml/100ml and 0,10 ml/100ml with LC90 were 0,15 ml/100ml and 0,20 ml/100ml respectively. The pathogenicity test at 48 hours of exposure showed the LC50 were 0,01 ml/100ml and 0,02 ml/100ml with LC90 were 0,04 ml/100 ml and 0,13 ml/100 ml respectively. The pathogenicity test result o/B. thuringiensis H-14 local strain cultured in TPB media against An. aconitus and Cx. p. quinquefasciatus larvae at 24 hours exposure, showed the LC50 were 0,05 ml/100 ml and 0,06 ml/100 ml with LC90 were 0,20 ml/100 ml and 0,15 ml/100 ml respectively. The pathogenicity test at 48 hours of exposure showed the LC50 were 0,02 ml/100 ml and 0,03 ml/100ml with LC90 were 0,10 ml/100 ml and 0,08 ml/100ml respectively. The field trial showed the patogenicity test result of B. thuringiensis H-14 local strain cultured in coconut water media against An. aconitus larvae at Sentinel trap in r icefield pools, showed a mortality of more than 50% for 4 days at the 0,15 ml/100 ml (LC90) aplication dosage. The pathogenicity against Cx. p. quinquefasciatus larvae at Sentinel trap was more than 50% for 3 days at the 0,20 ml/100 ml (LC90) aplication dosage. However B. thuringiensis H-14 cultured in TPB against An. aconitus larvae at a dosage 0,20 ml/100 ml and against Cx. p. quinquefasciatus larvae at a dosage of 0,15 ml/100 ml showed a mortality of more than 50% for 3 days. The coconut water is suitable as a local media for culturing B. thuringiensis H-14.

Abstract

Serology test study of 20 Bacillus thuringiensis bacteria isolates and its pathogenicity against vector mosquito larvae last instar III, on samples from various soil habitate was done in Salatiga municipal, Semarang regency, Purworejo regency and East Flores regency. The method used in this study (to determine Bacillus thuringiensis isolate serotype) was based on H-antigen (flagela) which is used as a movement organ of the bacteria. The twenty Bacillus thuringiensis isolates which were tested, can be grouped to 11 serotype (serotype H-3, 14, 43, 10, 8, 24, 11, 6, 23, 28, 13 and 11). H-14 serotype is the dominant serotype (3 isolate) followed by H-3, 43, 10 and 23 serotype are 2 isolate respectively and H-8, 24, 11, 6, 28 and 13 serotype are 1 isolate respectively. The pathogenicity test of 3 Bacillus thuringiensis isolate H-14 serotype against Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito larvae, showed that 3 isolates (100%) has pathogenecity at 82.7% - 94.7% and 64.0% - 93.3% for 24 hours of exposure respectively. In 48 hours of exposure, using the same test, results showed that 3 isolates (100%) have a pathogenicity at 84.0% - 98.7% and 81.3% - 96.0% respectively.

Abstract

A study was conducted anticipating vector control for the control of Dengue Haemmoraghic Fever (Aedes aegypti), malaria (Anopheles aconitus) and filariasis (Culex quinguefasciatus) using a local strain of Bacillus thuringiensis H-14 grown in local media (coconut water and soybean infusion). Tryptose Phosphate Broth chemical media (standard media) was used as a comparison to the media under investigation. Good growth was obtained in all media (local media and standard media) and local strain of B. thuringiensis H-14 was effective against the three mosquito larvae. The local strain of Bacillus thuringiensis H-14 cultured in coconut water media, killed 50% of the third instar larvae of Ae. aegypti, An. aconitus and Cx. quinquefasciatus at concentrations of 13 x 105, 31 x 10-5 and 10 x 10-5 concentrations for 24 hours of exposure respectively and 13 x 10-5, 9 x 10-5 and 7 x 10-5 at 48 hours exposure. Meanwhile when B. thurigiensis H-14 were cultured in soybean infusion media, they killed 50% of the third instar larvae of Ae. aegypti, An. aconitus and Cx. quinquefasciatus at concentrations of 5 x 10-5, 7 x 10-5 and 4 x 10-5 for 24 hours of exposure respectively and 3 x 10-5, 5 x 10-5 and 3 x 10-5 at 48 hours exposure. However when they were cultured in TPB media, they killed 50% of the third instar larvae of Ae. aegypti, An. aconitus and Cx. quinquefasciatus at concentrations of 12 x 10-5, 15 x 10-5 and 3 x 10-5 for 24 hours of exposure respectively and 12 x 10-5, 15 x 10-5 and 2 x 10-5 at 48 hours exposure. This investigation shows that the local strain of B. thuringiensis H-14 has potential as bioinsecticide agent.

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan sebagian dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di Jember, Jawa Timur, tentang kepaduan konteks situasi dan konteks budaya pada teks khotbah Jumat. Yang menjadi fokus artikel ini adalah teknik-teknik retorika persuasi yang digunakan khatib untuk mempengaruhi jamaah pada ritual khotbah Jumat. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan merekam suara khatib melalui observasi partisipasi, kemudian data lisan ditranskrip ke dalam teks lisan-tertulis. Kalimat-kalimat yang mengandung unsur persuasif dianalisis guna mengidentifikasi teknik-teknik persuasif yang digunakan khatib untuk mempengaruhi jamaah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa retorika persuasi dalam khotbah Jumat diterapkan melalui berbagai teknik, seperti: teknik persuasi langsung dan tak langsung, penggunaan majas, acuan, ceritera, analogi, dan teknik hubungan sebab akibat.

Abstract

The studyofdistribution and risk factorsofleptospirosis was conductedin Bonang Sub district,Demak Regency in May - July 2006. This study aimed to discover the distribution and risk factorsofleptospirosis incidence using cross sectional approach. The leptospirosis cases were determinedbyperipherbloodtest using leptotek lateral flow, while leptotek dri-dotwasusedto test rodent blood.Thedistributionsofcases andleptospires reservoirwereanalyzedby amappingprogramGISand thecharacteristic ofleptospirosis cases were identified using questionnaire. The result showed thatleptospirosis cases spread randomly along Tuntang Lama River and cored in Bonang sub district(Tridonorejo and Gebang villages). The distance betweenleptospires buffer zone and river was about< 50 meters (21 cases), 50 - 100 meters (8cases) and 100 meters(4 cases). The leptospirosisincidence more prevalent in man (74,8%) than woman (25,2%>). The leptospirosis cases were 15 yearsold or more (87,4%), their occupationwere farmer orfisherman (52,6%), housewife(36,2%) andseller (20%). Their house were easy enteredby rats 74,6% (RR; 23,6-33,2).Thepeoplewho gotleptospires common using water from the river for their daily activities 83,2% (RR; 15,4-17,6) andthey have not any cattle 82,5%)(RR; 1,6-4,7). During the survey was found 57 rats, such asRattustanezumi 36 rats,Norwayrats, R. norvegicus21 rats and theinsectivore Suncusmurinus15 rats. Karakteristikkasus leptospirosis dikajidenganmenggunakankuesionerterstruktur. Hasilpenelitianmenunjukanbahwaleptospirosis tersebar secara random di sepanjangtepi sungai TuntangLamadanterfokus diKecamatanBonang (DesaTridonoredjo,danGebang).Buffer Zonekasus leptospirosis dansungaiberjarak < 50 m (21 kasus), 50 - 100 m (8 kasus) dan > 100 m (4 kasus). Kasus leptospirosis berjeniskelamin laki-laki (74,8%) lebih banyak daripada perempuan (25,2%). Kelompokumur kasusleptospirosis >15tahun (87,4%), pekerjaan petani/nelayan 52,6%, ibu rumah tangga 36,2% danpedagang 20%. Kasus leptospirosis pada umumnya rumah tidak rapat tikus 74,6% (23,6 - 33,2) danmemanfaatkan air sungai di depan rumahnya83,2%>(RR ; 15,4 - 17,6), dan tidak mempunyai hewanternak 82,5% (RR; 1,6 - 4,7). Abstract

Penelitian ini berhubungan dengan pengembangan model pembelajaran bilingual di Pilot Sekolah Standar Internasional (PSSI) SMK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan establishing the bilingual teaching model model pembelajaran bilingual di SMK di Yogyakarta. Tempat penelitian adalah SMKN Depok 1, SMKN Depok 2, dan SMKN 1 Kalasan. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 6 guru dan 90 siswa SMK. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas angket dan lembar observasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan perekaman. Teknik observasi digunakan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan model yang dikembangkan. Perekaman digunakan untuk merekam model yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model imersi parsial adalah model yang paling sesuai bagi SMK di Yogyakarta sehubungan dengan keterbatasan penguasaan bahasa Inggris guru dan siswa.
