Abstract

This research is intended to find the students´ skill, the differences in understanding the working tools, and the differences in the job outcomes using the job picture and job sheet in Basic Construction Technology (BCT) Subject. This research belongs to survey and comparative study. The research population was the Regular Program S1 students of 2008 of the Department of Education of Automotive engineering. The sample consisted of four out of six groups of students taken randomly. Each group consisted of seven students. The four groups were divided into two larger groups, namely the group treated with job picture and the group treated with job sheet in the job learning. The technique of data analysis was non-parametric statistics with Wilconxon Scale Number and Wilconxon Marked Scale. The research findings show that the students´ skill in BCT is good (scores: 68.7 and 77.5). There is a significant difference in the skill in using liquefied acetylene gas arc welding (Rhit = 118 < Rα:5% = 160), and job learning using job picture is higher than using job sheet. There is no significant different in the competence welding using electric arc welding electrodes encased liquid (Rhit = 255.2 > Rα:5% = 160). There is an increase from 38.7 to 77.5 in the skill in using acetylene gas welding arc liquid based on job picture (Rhit = 14 < Rα:1% = 16) and the increase from 41.2 to 69.3 based on job sheet (Rhit = 10 < Rα:1% = 16). The skill in the welding using electric arc welding electrodes encased liquid based on job picture increases from 59.9 to 76.3 (Rhit = 12 < Rα:1% = 16) and based on job sheet increases from 51.8 to 76.5 (Rhit = 7 < Rα:1% = 16). There is no difference in the competence to weld using both kinds of working tools (job picture and job sheet), Rhit = 182 > Rα:5% = 160 for liquefied gas arc welding and Rhit = 162.5 > Rα:5% = 160 for electric arc welding electrodes encased liquid. This implies that job sheet as a working tool in job learning for various kinds of competence in one subject must not be the same.

Abstract

INSTALASI SISTEM INSTRUMENTASI & KENDALI UNIT VAKUM MESIN BERKAS ELEKTRON 350 KeV/10 mA TIPE REMOTE MANUAL. Sedang diselesaikan instalasi Sistem Instrumentasi & Kendali (SIK) unit vakum Mesin Berkas Elektron (MBE) tipe remote manual. SIK ini terdiri dari bagian kendali manual jarak jauh dan bagian monitoring jarak jauh. Prinsip kendali manual jarak jauh (50 m) adalah dengan mengendalikan status on/off terminal sumber tegangan 220Volt untuk pompa dan valve. Pemilihan terminal 220 Volt untuk pompa dan valve diatur dari ruang kendali MBE (saklar penyedia daya untuk valve dan pompa diatur ON). Untuk monitoring jarak jauh tingkat kevakuman digunakan kamera CCT yang ditempatkan di depan pirani/penning gauge serta unit TPG.300 BALZER pompa turbo. Monitoring status valve terbuka/tertutup dilakukan dengan menarik kabel indikator LED dari setiap valve ke panel transrak 19 inchi di ruang kendali MBE. Pneumatic valve dilengkapi sistem pipa kompresi dengan unit kompresor dan tabung reservoir. Seluruh pneumatic valve (selain venting valve) dari tipe normaly closed. Sistem CCTV dilengkapi enam buah kamera, sebuah TV monitor dan unit multiplexer untuk memilih gambarnya. Salah satu kamera CCTV ditempatkan pada unit rotator, menggunakan kendali infra merah yang dapat diatur berputar ke kanan / kiri sesuai orientasi monitoring yang dipilih . Hasil uji coba awal menunjukan bahwa SIK tipe remote manual untuk unit vakum Mesin Berkas Elektron menunjukan kinerja baik.

Abstract

Expanded immunization program will result in a complete basic immunization coverage of all children, including those in the peripheral areas. However this goal could possibly be hampered by ineffective vaccine resulting from poor performance of the cold chain. To evaluate the effectivenes of this immunization programs a study was conducted on the protective level of antibodies in children who where immunized at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), puskesmas (health center) and posyandu (integrated health services post). The study was conducted from October 1989 through March 1990. A total of 164 babies, age 2-11 months were enrolled, and were devided into 3 groups; 48 babies from RSCM, 53 from puskesmas and 63 from posyandu. All enrolled children received 1 series of the Diptheria - Pertussis - Tetanus (DPT) vaccination of 3 injections with 1 month interval. Blood sample for level of antibody titer for all 3 groups was taken before the first vaccine dose given and 1 month after the last dose. The result showed that protective level for diptheria after completion of vaccination was found in 72,9% of vaccinées from RSCM, 81% from Puskesmas and 68,3% from Posyandu. For pertussis the level was 62,5% from RSCM, 71,7% from Puskesmas and 63,5% from Posyandu. The level for tetanus was 100% from RSCM, 98,1% from Puskesmas and 96,8% from Posyandu. No statistical significant differences were observed between those 3 groups of babies based upon their place of vaccination.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the results of the students self-evaluation on their retained competence. This survey belongs to descriptive, quantitative, comparative, and associative research. The subjects of the study are 34 students of Automotive Engineering, D3 Vocational Program of Engineering Faculty of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The data were collected by using questionnaire and documents. The data were analyzed with descriptive and non-parametric statistics. The result shows that the average score of the students self-evaluation on their automotive competence was 2.9667. Of the five groups of expertise, the motor group got the highest score (3.18), and the chassis group got the lowest (2.56). The students self- evaluation on automotive expertise has no correlation to their learning achievement in each final semester (thit = -0.6573 < ttab = 2.0336).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan model assessment as learning (model-AaL) untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa pada pembelajaran akuntansi di SMK. Pengembangan model asesmen ini mengadaptasi model pengembangan Hopkin & Clark, yang terdiri atas dua tahap, yaitu: (1) tahap penelitian, dan (2) tahap pengembangan. Tahap penelitian meliputi: penelitian pendahuluan, studi hasil penelitian, analisis komponen model, penyusunan prototipe model. Tahap pengembangan meliputi: validasi model oleh pakar dan praktisi, melatih guru menggunakan model, uji coba model terbatas dan diperluas disertai evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah guru akuntansi dan siswa kelas X kompetensi keahlian akuntansi SMK. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, kuesioner, pengamatan, dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis perkembangan (repeated measures analysis) dan paired samples t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa: (1) ada enam komponen yang harus ada pada Model-AaL untuk meningkatkan kompetensi akuntansi siswa pada pembelajaran akuntansi di SMK, yaitu: tujuan, tugas terstruktur, asesmen diri, asesmen teman sejawat, pengamatan aktivitas siswa, dan umpan balik; dan (2) model-AaL efektif dapat meningkatkan kompetensi akuntansi siswa pada pembelajaran akuntansi di SMK, dengan nilai p (Sig) < α (0,05). Kata kunci: model-AaL, kompetensi siswa, dan pembelajaran akuntansi  DEVELOPING A MODEL OF “ASSESSMENT AS LEARNING OF ACCOUNTING LEARNING” AT VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS Abstract The objective of this study is to develop model of assessment as learning (model-AaL) to improve the students’ competencies in the Accounting learning at Vocational High Schools. It adapted the model claimed by Hopkin & Clark, consisting of two phases, namely: (1) research and (2) development. The former included preliminary research, study of the research results, analysis of the model components, and the arrangement of model prototype. The latter, comprised model validation by experts and practitioners, teacher training for using the model, limited and extended model experimentations accompanied with evaluation. The subjects of the research were the Accounting teachers and the students in Grade X of the Accounting Expertise Program of Vocational High Schools. The data of the research were gathered through in-depth interview, questionnaire, observation, and test. They were then analyzed by using the qualitative approach with the descriptive analysis technique and the quantitative approach with the analysis techniques of repeated measures analysis and paired samples t-test. The results of the research show that: (1) the model-AaL consists of six components, namely: objective, structured task, self-assessment, peer assessment, observation on student’s activities, and feedback; and (2) the model-AaL can effectively improve the students’ competencies in Accounting learning at Vocational High Schools, with a value of p (Sig) < α (0.05). Abstract

Child neglect refers to failure to provide childrens fundamental needs. In contrast to child abuse, which implies active negative conduct, child neglect means something passive. Child neglect may take a variety of forms including medical, physical, safety, sexual, educational, and emotional neglects. The neglects may manifest themselves as conditions reflecting the improper provision of childs needs. It should always borne in mind that child neglect is almost invariably resulted from complex process which has been influenced by family history, individual characteristics of the parents and children, social and environmental circumstances, and medical problems. Its management, therefore, should be thoroughly administered, and should involve many aspects and all parties in a team effort. The prevention of child neglect should include formal and informal education of the rights of the child.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan kesulitan-kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan proyek akhir (PA), yang meliputi: menentukan judul/topik, proses bimbingan, prosespengerjaan, menulis laporan, serta menemukan solusi permasalahannya.Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang telah dan sedang mengerjakan Proyek Akhir pada tahun perkuliahan 2009/2010 dan Dosen Pembimbing PA jurusan Teknik Otomotif. Teknik sampling menggunakan ’incidental sampling’ yang didapat 55 mahasiswa dan 15 dosen pembimbing. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara sebagai pelengkap. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Kesulitan terbesar mahasiswa datang dari faktor internal, khususnya kejiwaan mereka yang meliputi aspek motivasi dan tanggung jawab mahasiswa menyelesaikan proyek akhir. Hambatan berikutnya berturut-turut: faktor instrumental, lingkungan dan kejasmanian; Hambatan mahasiswa dalam pelaksanaan Proyek Akhir adalah dalam menentukan judul, melakukan perhitungan dan pembuktian dan masalah plagiat. Solusi yang disampaikan adalah mahasiswa perlu memilih dan menentukan judul yang feasibel, menambah wawasan pengetahuan teknik dan aplikasi otomotif, melatih kreativitas dan inovasi, memperdalam materi metodologi dan proaktif terhadap kegiatan bimbingan, membuat jadwal penggunaan bengkel dan dosen pembimbing di bengkel.

Abstract

Studi ini telah dilakukan dengan mendesain sistem sirkulasi air panas otomatis dan rem haspel sebagai modifikasi pada mesin reeling sutera dengan tujuan untuk konservasi energi melalui peningkatan efisiensi proses. Pada mesin reeling konvensional dapat terjadi inefisiensi pada sistem penyediaan air panas manual yang menyebabkan pelepasan energi panas dan temperatur air yang tidak konstan, serta mekanisme penyambungan benang putus yang dapat mengurangi waktu operasional produktif dan meningkatkan biaya produksi. Metode desain dalam studi ini adalah modifikasi mesin reeling sutera konvensional melalui penambahan sistem sirkulasi air panas otomatis dan sistem pengereman haspel. Berdasarkan uji coba melalui pengoperasian mesin reeling secara kontinyu selama 20 hari, kedua sistem yang dirancang dapat beroperasi dengan baik. Hasil perhitungan analisis ekonomi berdasarkan waktu operasional selama 25 hari memperlihatkan bahwa mesin reeling yang telah dimodifikasi memerlukan biaya produksi benang lebih rendah dan pencapaian waktu break even point yang lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan mesin reeling konvensional. Aplikasi mesin reeling sutera yang telah dimodifikasi ini membutuhkan biaya investasi lebih tinggi, namun demikian produksi benang jauh akan lebih efisien sehingga biaya produksi dalam jangka panjang menjadi lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan mesin reeling konvensional.

Abstract

Prototip Mesin Non Woven Needle Punch yang ada di Balai Besar Tekstil selama ini masih belummemenuhi persyaratan, baik komponen mesinnya sendiri maupun hasil produknya. Untuk itu maka tujuan daripenelitian ini adalah melakukan pengembangan mesin tersebut dengan melengkapi beberapa komponen, yaitu satuset jarum dan komponennya, rol penyuap, dudukan lapisan dasar dan rol out put, serta meningkatkan kecepatangerakan dan penetrasi jarum dengan menyempurnakan gerakan eksentrik dan pulley eksentrik, sehingga diperolehpeningkatan kualitas hasil produknya. Dalam pengembangan mesin tersebut dilakukan dengan melengkapi 1 setjarum nomor 36 beserta dudukannya (needle board) yang dapat digunakan untuk proses serat rayon, meningkatkanputaran pulley dan eksentrik dari 150 rpm menjadi 500 rpm, menambah komponen-komponen tersebut di atas sertamembuat dinding penyekat untuk ukuran lebar kain. Dari hasil pengembangan mesin tersebut, maka prosespersiapan pemasukan serat /web dapat terukur dan kontinyu, sehingga meningkatkan homogenitas tebal kain,ikatan antar serat yang terjadi lebih kuat, karena gerakan jarum-jarum (needle punch) meningkat dan hasil produkkain nonwoven dapat digulung pada rol penggulung. Hal ini dapat diketahui dari hasil uji tebal kain, berat kain,kekuatan tarik, daya tembus udara, kekuatan jebol dan daya serap air, yang memberikan koefisien variasi relatifkecil dibandingkan hasil uji kain non woven pada mesin sebelum dimodifikasi. Demikian juga unjuk kerja mesinmenjadi lebih baik.
