Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this research is to develop teaching media for mathematics specifically for materials on trigonometry using GUI Matlab. This media can be used as teaching and learning aid for students at senior high school, grade XI in the first semester. This learning media consists of instructions on how to use the media, learning materials, exercises and profile. The trigonometry materials which are discussed in this learning media consist of the sum and difference of two angles. The limitation on the angles that can be used are special angles in the interval -360o £ a,b £ 360o. The special angles are 0o, ±30o, ±45o, ±60o, ±90o, ±120o, ±135o, ±150o, ±180o, ±210o, ±225o, ±240o, ±270o, ±300o, ±315o, ±330o, and ±360o. The trigonometry functions such as sinus, cosine and as well as the operation addition (+) and subtraction (-) can be selected by hitting the appropriate button. Within each step, there is a check button and a next button to check the input true or false. If the value that entered incorrectly then the next step will not displayed and warning box will appear to report the location of error. Users have to fix the error in order to continue to the next step.  Keywords: teaching learning media, trigonometry, GUI Matlab

Abstract

Abstract. Science and technology have been rapidly evolved in some fields of knowledge, including mathematics. Such development can contribute to improvements on the learning process that encourage students and teachers to enhance their abilities and performances. In delivering the material on the linear equation system with two variables (SPLDV), the conventional teaching method where teachers become the center of the learning process is still well-practiced. This method would cause the students get bored and have difficulties to understand the concepts they are learning. Therefore, in order to the learning of SPLDV easy, an interesting, interactive media that the students and teachers can apply is necessary. This media is designed using GUI MATLAB and named as students’ electronic worksheets (e-LKS). This program is intended to help students in finding and understanding the SPLDV concepts more easily. This program is also expected to improve students’ motivation and creativity in learning the material. Abstract

Information Technologi Balanced Scorecard (IT BSC) merupakan salah satu kerangka kerja untuk menilai dan mengukur kinerja teknologi informasi dari empat perspektif  yaitu perspektif kontribusi organisasi, orientasi pengguna, penyempurnaan operasional dan orientasi masa depan. literatur membuktikan metode ini dapat memberikan hasil pengukuran yang berimbang mengenai kinerja teknologi informasi yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi, oleh sebab itu timbul keingintahuan kami untuk studi lebih lanjut bagaimana menerapkan kerangka kerja ini untuk mengevaluasi kinerja sistem informasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan kerangka kerja IT Balanced Scorecard untuk mengevaluasi kinerja sistem informasi akademik (SIAKAD) pada Universitas Serambi Mekkah (USM). SIAKAD dipilih berdasarkan pengalaman sehari-hari dari operator sistem bahwa sistem mengalami beberapa masalah, masalah ini termasuk kinerja dan integrasi, sehingga terganggunya aktivitas pelayanan akademik, selain itu manajemen USM mengalami kesulitan untuk mendapatkan informasi kinerja sistem informasi yang ada. Penggunaan metode ini diawali dengan menyusun sejumlah indikator kinerja sistem yang diturunkan dari empat perspektif IT BSC dan menyesuiakan dengan tujuan strategis institusi sehingga melahirkan sekumpulan paket kuesioner untuk mengukur kinerja sistem, pengukuran dilakukan berdasarkan pandangan operator sistem dan tenaga IT di USM. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kinerja SIAKAD masih dibawah target berdasarkan indikator efektifitas pelayanan administrasi akademik, kepuasan operator sistem, peningkatan kompetensi operator sistem, kualitas sistem dan peningkatan keahlian staf IT. kami juga berhasil mengidentifikasi tujuan strategis yang memainkan peran paling penting dalam pengukuran kinerja sistem informasi secara keseluruhan. Hasil analisis dapat kami simpulkan bahwa metode ini dapat mengungkap kinerja sistem yang berkontribusi untuk organisasi saat ini dan menjawab tantangan masa depan. Hasil akhir menawarkan alat yang berguna bagi para pengambil keputusan di USM untuk mengevaluasi dan meningkatkan kerja sistem informasi akademik.

Abstract

Program International for Student Assessment (PISA) merupakan program penilaian tingkat Internasional yang diselengarakan setiap tiga tahun sekali yang bertujuan untuk meneliti kemampuan siswa usia 15 tahun dalam literasi membaca, matematika, dan sains. Hasil PISA tahun 2009 dan tahun 2013 menunjukkan bahwa prestasi siswa Indonesia pada literasi matematika masih berada pada level 2. Rendahnya prestasi tersebut tidak terlepas dari proses belajar di sekolah, salah satunya siswa belum dibiasakan menyelesaikan soal-soal yang menuntut kemampuan siswa untuk menganalisis, bernalar, beragumentasi, merepresentasikan permasalahan dalam berbagai situasi, dan memecahkan masalah yang berhubungan dengan masalah kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk itu perlu dikembangkan soal matematika setara PISA yang sesuai dengan konteks siswa Indonesia yang dapat digunakan guru sehingga literasi matematika siswa dapat meningkat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk menghasilkan soal matematika setara PISA pada konten shape and space dan change and relationships untuk siswa SMP yang valid dan praktis dan (2) untuk mengetahui level siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika setara PISA pada konten shape and space dan change and relationships. Penelitian ini menggunakan alur pengembangan instrumen oleh Tessmer. Subjek penelitian adalah 36 siswa kelas IX-5 MTsN Model Banda Aceh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) diperoleh perangkat soal matematika setara PISA pada konten shape and space dan change and relationship sebanyak 12 butir yang valid dan praktis dan (2) rata-rata pencapaian level siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika setara PISA masih berada pada level 2.Kata kunci: penelitian pengembangan, soal PISA

Abstract

Dalam mengatasi multikolinearitas pada suatu data, ada beberapa metode yang dapat digunakan,diantaranya yaitu metode Partial Least Square (PLS) dan metode regresi komponen utama (RKU).Data yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah data sekunder yang diperoleh dari JurnalTechnometrics (Naes, 1985). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa metode PLS lebih baik dari pada RKUberdasarkan nilai koefisien determinasi (R2) yang tinggi, nilai Mean Square Error Prediction (MSEP)dan nilai Root Mean Square Error Prediction (RMSEP) yang minimum.

Abstract

Introduction. UPT Unsyiah Library is one of the facilities in Syiah Kuala University which provides book lending service to users.The library collects all information and has expanded a big data of book lending.Data Collection Method. This research aims to determine the relevance pattern between the book subject and the borrowers program of study, and to determine the pattern of book borrowing based on books that are often borrowed simultaneously. The pattern can be found using one of the methods of data mining that is the association rules mining with Eclat algorithm. Eclat algorithm uses vertical format of dataset to intersect TID list between items in determining support count so that the process of searching frequent itemset is faster.Analysis Data. There are 122.945 book lending data from 2007 to 2015 used in this study. These data show the borrowers’ behavior pattern of book lending behavior in UPT Library Unsyiah, especially the borrowers who are student of this university. Results and Discussions. The Eclat algorithm produces the most frequent and repeatable pattern of book subjects and program of studies from several years of research data, which are Accounting book subjects with its program of study (S1) and Chemistry book subjects with Chemistry Education program of study (S1).Conclusions. The analysis result for the book subject pattern and program of studies shows that the habit of Unsyiah students in borrowing books from the library is accordingly to their program of studies. As for the patterns between books, Eclat algorithm found linkage between books and most often repeated from several periods of years of research data is the book code of 12311 (Fundamentals of educational evaluation) with 42265 (Introduction to evaluation of education).

Abstract

Creative thinking ability of students is still low and less attention in the implementation of the learning of mathematics. Some efforts are needed to foster creative thinking ability because of lack of creative thinking ability in the learning of mathematics. One of effort is applying Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model. The purpose of this research was (1) to describe the creative thinking ability of students during the learning process with PBL Model, and (2) to determine the increase of the creative thinking ability of students after implementation of PBL model. This research used mixed methods with concurrent triangulation strategy. Samples were selected by random sampling from all grade 8 students from one of junior high school at Banda Aceh, those were 28 students in class VIII-3. The instrument used to obtain data of the creative thinking ability of students after learning with PBL Model was test and observation. The instrument used to obtain data to determine the increase of the students’ creative thinking ability after learning with the PBL model were pretest and posttest. Test and observations were analyzed by using an assessment rubric of creative thinking abilities with descriptive qualitative method. The result of pretest and posttest were analyzed by statistical tests using t-test. The results showed that the students were creative in solving problems during the learning process with model of PBL. There was increasing creative thinking abilities of students after learning with PBL Model. The implication of this research indicates that creative thinking abilities of students increase through PBL model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah media pembelajaran fisika pada pokok bahasan fluida statis yang dapat digunakan pada perangkat mobile berbasis android untuk menunjang pembelajaran siswa di dalam kelas. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam penelitian Research and Development (R &D) yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk tertentu dan mengkaji permasalahan produk tersebut. Pembuatan aplikasi tersebut menggunakan perangkat lunakAndroid Studio versi 1.5. yang dijalankan pada sistem operasi Windows 8.1. Selanjutnya pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara terhadap evaluator dan dilanjutkan dengan mengisi angket heuristik untuk menemukan severityratings sesuai dengan 10 prinsip heuristik Nielsen. Evaluator sejumlah 30 orang berasal dari kalangan guru 80%, dosen 17% dan praktisi IT 3%, yang mengerti dan terbiasa menggunakan perangkat mobile berbasis android. Hasil dari evaluator menunjukkan bahwa hanya terdapat permasalahan minor pada kategori helpanddocumentation sehingga hanya perlu sedikit perbaikan dan penambahan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the learning outcomes of junior high school students to Geometry that Flat SideSpaceBuild (BRSD) and the students' response to e-learning based learning. Subjects in this study were students of class VIII-2 SMPN 9 Banda Aceh totaling twenty-two people. Data collected through observation during the implementation of learning and test that consists of an online quiz at each meeting and tests at the end of the implementation of learning to determine the ability of students to understand and master the material BRSD. The result was that 73% of students scored in the top of 60, while a value above 70 was only ten students (45%). Of the whole matter, it turns out there were some students have difficulty in linking formula surface area or volume formula to obtain the value of one unknown. In addition, students still have difficulty in understanding the material prism and pyramid. This was because both of these materials have many kinds. Because of this, e-learning based learning was apt used as one method to improve understanding and learning outcomes of students in mastering the subject matter, especially mathematics. Besides being attractive, e-learning-based learning can help students in mastering the use of computers.
