Abstract

Community empowerment is a concept that summarizes the economic development of social values. This concept reflects the new development paradigm, namely "people centered, participatory, empowering, and sustainable". This concept is broader than merely satisfy basic needs or provide a mechanism to prevent further impoverishment (safety net), whose thinking recently been developed as an effort to find an alternative to the concepts of growth in the past. Empowerment aims to encourage the community that is still below the poverty line by collectively involved in the decision-making process, including overcoming the unsatisfied condition that there are filled. Empowerment was also marked by the increasing capacity of the population collectively in managing development organizations independently

Abstract

Brucellosis adalah penyakit bakterial yang bersifat zoonosis berupa ganguan pada fungsi reproduksi hewan. Brucellosis disebabkan oleh Brucella abortus pada sapi, B. melitensis atau B. ovis pada ruminansia kecil, B. suis pada babi dan B. canis pada anjing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kejadian Brucellosis pada sapi bali di Timor Leste dengan cara pemeriksaan serologis. Metode pengujian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Rose Bengal Plate Test (RBPT) yang bertindak sebagai uji skrining. Jika hasilnya positif, penelitian dilanjutkan dengan uji Complement Fixation Test (CFT) sebagai uji penegak. Dari hasil pemeriksaan 60 serum sapi bali yang berasal dari distrik Dili, Suai, Maliana dan Lospalos ditemukan tujuh sampel positif, ketujuh sampel tersebut adalah Maliana (1), Suai (1) dan Lospalos (5), sedangkan sampel yang berasal dari distrik Dili negative. Masing-masing sampel yang positif menunjukkan hasil positif (++). Sampel yang positif RBPT selanjutnya diuji dengan uji Complement Fixation Test (CFT). Hasilnya adalah berupa rataan titer antibody untuk sampel Maliana, Lospalos, dan Suai berturut-turut adalah 128±0; 56±48; dan 16±0. Berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan tersebut bahwa status dari distrik Lospalos terinfeksi berat Brucellosis dan distrik Maliana dan Suai terinfeksi sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Brucellosis ditemukan di Timor Leste.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate antibody response of specific pathogen-free (SPF) chickens vaccinatedwith single inactivated Newcastle disease (ND) vaccine and combined inactive ND and avian influenza(AI) vaccines and to known the efficacy of both vaccines. The vaccines used were killed ND vaccine andkilled ND-AI vaccine produced by PT. Sanbio Laboratories Bogor, West Java. SPF chickens were vaccinatedwith 3 different doses. Antibody titer of SPF chickens against ND virus were determined byhaemagglutination inhibition (HI) test. As many as 130 two week old SPF chickens were used and theywere divided into 2 groups (A and B) consisting of 60 chickens and 10 chickens were used as control withoutvaccine. Group A chickens were vaccinated with ND-K vaccine and group B were vaccinated with combinedkilled ND-AI vaccines. Each group was further divided into 3 subsgroups (1, 2 and 3) consisting 20 chickens.Subgroups 1, 2 and 3 were vaccinated intramuscularly respectively with intramuskular 1, 1/10 and 1/100doses of each vaccines. Antibody response of chickens against ND virus was examined before vaccinationand every three week after vaccination and was expresses as geometric mean titre (GMT) HI units. Theresult showed that the titre antibody against ND increased at the second week following the vaccination.The antibody titer against ND virus of chickens vaccinated single killed ND at the second week in eachdose were 6.05 GMT HI unit, 4.05 GMT HI unit, and 0.9 GMT HI unit. The antibody titre at the third week were 7.90 GMT HI unit ,5.40 GMT HI unit and 2.20 GMT HI unit. The antibody titre against ND virus ofchickens vaccinated with combined ND-AI vaccine at the second week were 6.30 GMT HI unit , 4.15 GMTHI unit , and 2.05 GMT HI unit. At the third week, the antibody titre against ND virus of chickensvaccinated with combined ND-AI vaccine in each subgroup were 7.45 GMT HI unit, 5.60 GMT HI unit , and2.40 GMT HI unit . It showed that the antibody titers at single doses of killed ND vaccine (7.90 GMT HIunit) and combined ND-AI vaccine (7.45 GMT HI unit) at the third week after vaccination were both stilleffective as both titres were above standard protective titre.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh analisis jabatan, pengembangan karier, dan penempatan baik secara parsial maupun secara simultan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Politeknik Negeri Bali. Jumlah sampel yang diambil berjumlah 123 orang dari 178 orang keseluruhan populasi yang ada, dengan teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis regresi linier berganda. Data diolah dengan program aplikasi SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 17.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa: (1) analisis jabatan, pengembangan karier, dan penempatan secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Politeknik Negeri Bali, (2) Analisis jabatan, pengembangan karier, dan penempatan secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Politeknik Negeri Bali, (3) Pengembangan karier berpengaruh secara dominan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Politeknik Negeri Bali. Saran untuk meningkatkan kinerja: (1) Bagi institusi Politeknik Negeri Bali agar melaksanakan program pelatihan dan pendidikan yang disesuaikan dengan bidang tugas masing-masing, menempatkan pegawai sesuai dengan kualifikasi dan kompetensi; (2) Bagi pegawai, agar memotivasi diri dengan mengikuti pelatihan yang dilaksanakan oleh lembaga; (3) Diperlukan penelitian lanjutan tentang faktor-faktor lain yang berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Politeknik Negeri Bali.
