Abstract

The mangrove conversion become fish pond, bareland or others has an impact in water quality. One of water quality parameter is Total Suspended Solid (TSS), increasing TSS means the rising in pollution.  Landsat remote sensing data with multi channels used in studying the dynamic of mangrove – fishpond change and TSS along the Berau waters. Several regions with its variation are used in that dynamic studying.  The TSS algorithm for Berau waters is TSS (mg/l) = 3.3238 * exp (34.099*Red Band) , Red band=the atmospheric reflectance band 2 validated with field data. The result study is the conversion of mangrove become fish pond has the strong indication in the rising TSS .

Abstract

The study of landused change: forest area become coal industrial area and its impact in Total Suspended Solid is done by remote sensing data. The different combination channel of remote sensing data are taken to extract landuse and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) spatial information. The supervised classification is used for land used spatial extraction and otherwise for TSS, there is a specifict algorithm; TSS = 3.8926 * exp (31.417*Red Band). The result showed that there was the relationship between landuse change from forest into coal industrial, shrub, paddy field, bareland and settlement area and the dynamic change of TSS along Berau watershed Key word: Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Remote sensing

Abstract

Total suspended solid (TSS) is one of the water quality parameters and limiting factor affecting coral reef growth. In this study, we used the algorithm of TSS= 3.3238*e(34.099* Green band) (where green band is reflectance band 2) to extract TSS from Landsat satellite data. The algorithm was validated with field data. Water column correction method developed by Lyzenga was used to map coral reef. The result showed that the coral reef area in Berau waters decreased significantly (about 12,805 ha or around 36 % ) from the year of 1979 to 2002. The most coral reef reduced area was detected around Derawan Island (about 5,685 ha). Further, some areas changed into sand dune. TSS concentration around Delta Berau and Derawan Island increased aproximately twice from 15- 35 mg/l in 1979 to 20-65 mg/l in 2002. The increase of TSS concentration was followed by the decrease of coral reef area.

Abstract

Illegal fishing activities are basically not just done by foreign fisherman but also carried out by fisherman of Indonesia but they are using the size are smaller that is under 30 gross tonage. Due to the size a small fishing vessels are often allowed by the law enforcement officers due to the influence that is relatively small, whereas in the number of ships that are much smaller of course though its capacity would provide a major problem for the management of fish resources in Indonesia. Fishermen who settled in Brondong East Java is an example of illegal fishing activities as offeriders by loweinr the size of the ship that is lowering the gross tonage. These activities were carried out because the cost of maintaining a very troublesome permission and expensive.

Abstract

Sempor Reservoir is one of the reservoir in Central Java. This reservoir has primary function as irrigation and hydropower source. Beside, it also has some benefit for fisheries and tourism activities. Reservoir utilization which has not been optimum yet need some adjustments with water quality and aquatic trophic state in Sempor Reservoir. This study was aimed to determine water quality and aquatic trophic state of Sempor Reservoir. This study was conducted from January to March 2014 with monthly water sampling. Survey method to collect data with stratified random sampling was used for four represented station. Aquatic trophic state determination was based in Carlson Trophic State Index (TSI) measurement. This method used some represented parameters of physics, chemistry and biology such as water transparency, total phosphorus, and chlorophyll-a. The results showed that water quality of Sempor Reservoir was still good for fishery activities. Aquatic trophic state of Sempor Reservoir based on Carlson TSI was classified to low-medium in euthropic category ranging from 50.71-64.91. Inlet was the only area which had medium category of eutrophic due to highly nutrient content derived from anthropogenic activities nearby. Abstract

Agroindustri udang dihadapkan pada berbagai masalah yang kompleks dan rentan terhadap gangguan.Untuk dapat mengenali risiko masing-masing pelaku rantai pasok dan memilih tindakan berdasarkan prioritas diperlukan suatu model identifikasi dan evaluasi risiko.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan modelidentifikasidan evaluasirisikorantai pasok udang. Identifikasi risiko akan dilakukan dengan pendekatan what-if analysis dan evaluasi risiko yang dikembangkan menggunakan model fuzzy FMEA, dengan input data dari beberapa ahli dan pelaku rantai pasok udang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaku petani mempunyai risiko yang paling tinggi dengan probabilitas sebesar 0,45. jika dibandingkan risiko pada tingkat pedagang pengumpul (0,29) dan risiko agroindustri (0,18). Risiko dominan pada tingkat petani disebabkan oleh kegagalan panen akibat serangan hama dan penyakit. Pada tingkat pengumpul risiko dominan adalah keberadaan dan loyalitas pemasok.Sedangkan pada tingkat prosesor risiko dominan adalah keragaman mutu pasokan dan kontaminasi antibiotik pada komoditi udang. Secara keseluruhan model ini dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktorrisiko dan variabel pada tiap tingkatan rantai pasok serta memilih tindakan prioritas sehingga akan diperolehrekomendasi berupa tindakan yang tepat untukmengantisipasinya. Kata kunci: identifikasi dan evaluasi risiko, rantai pasok udang, fuzzy FMEA

Abstract

Seaweed cultivation is one of current coastal development activities in the west Sumbawa regency. Coastal region in the west Sumbawa regency that be used for seaweed cultivation was about 1,550 ha, however, its utilization was still limited of about 536 ha (34.58%). Seaweed farming activities were only carried out in some locations of the subdistrict of Taliwang and Pototano, west Sumbawa. Sustainability analysis of seaweed cultivation was done by Multidimensional scaling method using Rapid Appraisal Seaweed (Rapseaweed). Based on sustainability status of seaweed cultivation, the long line methods was less sustainable with sustanability index of 49.28 and the ‘anchored’ method produced better sustainability of 61.02 index value. A technological dimension is needed for seaweed farming development in order to produce better sustainability. Other dimensions for seaweed farming improvement are ecological, economic, social, and institutional. To reach a sustainable seaweed cultivation in the west Sumbawa regency, farmers and other stake holders should increase the utilization of available coastal region for seaweed farming activities by having the availability of the market and seeds, guarantees access to capital, increasing skills and knowledge of farmers, provide the drying and storage facilities, and  develop the seaweed processing industry. Abstract

This study aimed to assess the aquatic carrying capacity for extensive fishing. The study was conducted in Cilala Lake, Jampang Village, Bogor. The carrying capacity was determined based on primary productivity using the chlorophyll value, which is indicating the existence of phosphate in waters. The result showed that carrying capacity of Cilala Lake for extensive fishing was 3.51 tons/year. Tilapia was the fish which could be restocked, because it has high tolerance to waters condition and there’s not prey or predator for this fish. If fish for restocking was assumed about 25 g in size and would be about 250 g after 46 months (harvest size), then the maximum stocked was 15.602 fingerlings/year for two periods. The number of fish pen cage available on the lake should be considered in calculating the number of fish for restocking.

Abstract

Kondisi habitat dan eksosistem mangrove menjadi aspek penting dalam pengembangan usaha perikanan budidaya di wilayah pesisir. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji kondisi habitat dan ekosistem mangrove berdasarkan kualitas perairan, tanah, dan vegetasi mangrove serta kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat. Penelitian dilakukan di empat desa Kecamatan Simpang Pesak Kabupaten Belitung Timur pada bulan April – November 2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kualitas air seperti salinitas 28–30, suhu 27–36 oC, pH 7–7,5, kecerahan 50–70, TSS 11–85 mg/L dan kekeruhan 0,91–46,00 NTU, yang rata-rata tidak melebihi ambang batas baku mutu untuk tambak udang dan biota laut, sedangkan kualitas tanah yaitu tekstur tanah (liat berpasir), pH tanah 4,8–6,8 dan bahan organik tanah 9–13% juga menunjukkan nilai yang tidak lebih dari ambang batas yang ditentukan. Kajian lainnya yaitu kondisi mangrove dengan kisaran indeks nilai penting 0–300 menunjukkan mangrove yang berperan dalam ekosistem tersebut dan dalam status mutu baik yang didukung dengan kerapatan 460 pohon/hektar. Oleh karena itu, nilai kerapatan yang tinggi dapat mendukung kegiatan pengembangan tambak udang yaitu dengan konsep ramah lingkungan (silvofisheries). Selain secara ekologi, secara sosial masyarakat juga mendukung pengembangan budidaya tambak udang (wawancara) dengan menyediakan (sewa) lahan dan tidak mengabaikan kerusakan lingkungan yaitu tetap mempertahankan mangrove.
