Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari efek interaksi perlakuan kompos dan dolomit terhadap kadar Ca dan Al dapat ditukar, dan P tersedia(P-Bray II) dalam tanah. Percobaan dilakukan di rumah kaca, analisis tanaman dan tanah di laboratorium sentral  Fakultas Pertanian USU Medan.  Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok faktorial dengan dua faktor dengan tiga ulangan. Faktor perlakuan pertama adalah pemberian kompos sebanyak  lima taraf, yaitu 0 g (C0), 12,5 g (C1),25,0 g (C2), 37,5 g (C3), dan 50 g kompos/5kg tanah (C4), faktor kedua adalah pemberian dolomit tiga taraf,  yaitu  tanpa dolomit (L0), 50 g (L2) dan 50 g dolomit / 5 kg tanah(L2). Kompos berasal dari kulit durian yang dikomposkan selama 75 hari dengan nisbah C/N = 12,2.  Tanah sebagai media percobaan berasal dari koleksi lapisan tanah atas (0-20 cm) pada area Ultisol; tanah dicampur rata, dikeringudarakan, diayak dengan ayakan 2 mm, kemudian ditimbang seberat 5 kg setara berat kering tanur sebanyak 45 unit. Masing-masing unit diberi pupuk dasar berupa 1,667 g Urea, 2,778 g SP-36 dan 1,667 KCl, kemudian diasamkan dengan memberikan satu liter H2SO4 1N sehingga pH mencapai di bawah 4,0. Setelah seminggu dianalisis pH tanah, kadar C dan N total tanah. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh beberapa kesimpulan, yaitu efek interaksi perlakuan kompos dan dolomit terjadi pada P tersedia tanah. Tidak terjadi efek interaksi antara perlakuan kompos dan dolomit terhadap kadar Ca-dd dan kadar Al-dd. Peningkatan kadar Ca-dd tanah dominan akibat perlakuan bahan kapur dolomit, sedangkan perlakuan kompos tidak berpengaruh pada kadar Ca-dd. Penurunan Al-dd terjadi akibat perlakuan dolomit, sedangkan perlakuan kompos pada taraf tertentu dapat menurunkan kadar Al-dd tanah. Perlakuan dolomit sampai tingkat sedang (50 g dolomit/5 kg tanah) meningkatkan P tersedia tanah. Kata kunci: kompos, dolomit, tanah masam, Ca dan Al dapat ditukar, P-Bray II

Abstract

ABSTRACT Enrichment of rice straw with rock powder as biofertilizer to supply nutrient for a vegetable (Brassica juncea L) to organic agricultural. The aim of this research is to determine the potention enrichment of rice straw with rock powder as biofertilizer to supply N,P,K nutrient for a vegetable (Brassica juncea L) to organic agricultural. This study used a Randomized Blok Design with ten treatments and three replications. The treatment consists of OO (control), KJ (aplication of compost without enrichment), KD (aplication of compost enrichment by 175 g dolomite), KP (aplication of compost enrichment by 175 phosphate ), KZ (aplication of compost enrichment by 175 g zeolite), KS (aplication of compost enrichment by 175 g river’s rock), KD1 (aplication of compost enrichment by 350 g dolomite), KP1 (aplication of compost enrichment by 350 g phosphate), KZ1 (aplication of compost enrichment by 350 g zeolite), KS1  (aplication of compost enrichment by 350 g river’s rock). The results showed that administration of rice straw compost which increase with rock powder after incubation significantly increased pH of  soil, N soil, and K- exchange at treatment of compost that increase with dolomite docage 350 g and P-available at treatment of compost that increase with fosfate docage 350 g. Compost of straw rice which increace with rock powder significantly increased of vegetable growth at treatment of compost that increase with fosfate docage 350 g. Keywords : compost of straw rice, rock powder, vegetable (Brassica juncea L) ABSTRAK Pengayaan kompos jerami padi dengan bubuk batu sebagai sumber hara untuk tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.) pada pertanian organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi kompos jerami padi yang diperkaya dengan tepung batu sebagai pupuk alami dalam menyediakan hara N, P, K untuk tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.) pada pertanian organik. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak  Lengkap dimana perlakuan terdiri atas OO (Kontrol), KJ (50 g aplikasi kompos tanpa diperkaya), KD (aplikasi kompos diperkaya 175 g dolomit), KP (aplikasi kompos diperkaya 175 fosfat ), KZ (aplikasi kompos diperkaya 175 g zeolit), KS (aplikasi kompos diperkaya 175 g batu sungai), KD1 (aplikasi kompos diperkaya 350 g dolomit), KP1 (aplikasi kompos diperkaya 350 g fosfat), KZ1 (aplikasi kompos diperkaya 350 g zeolit), KS1  (aplikasi kompos diperkaya 350 g batu sungai). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kompos jerami padi yang diperkaya tepung batu setelah inkubasi nyata meningkatkan pH tanah, N-total, K-tersedia pada perlakuan aplikasi kompos diperkaya dolomit dosis 350 g dan P-tersedia pada perlakuan kompos diperkaya fosfat dosis 350 g. Pemberian kompos jerami padi yang diperkaya tepung batu nyata dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman sawi pada perlakuan kompos diperkaya fosfat dosis 350 g. Abstract

The objective of this research is to evaluate the land  suitability for Apple Trees at Sihiong Village,Bonatua Lunasi Subdistrict, Toba Samosir District. The results of this study showed that 11 soilmap units found based on the map of soil and the map of topography, and than it makes to overlay.The evaluation of land suitability  classes based on the criteria given by Resesarch Center,IPBBogor  1983 and the evaluation method  is limitation method based on FAO 1976. The results ofthis research showed that  the highest actual of land suitability classes is land mapping unit two (S3nr,eh) and the highest potential of land suitability classes is land mapping unit 1,3,5,7,8,10,11 (S1)Keywords: land suitability evaluation,apples, sihiong village

Abstract

Field research was conducted applied Agrosil as silicate material and Phosphorus fertilizer forpotato plant to determine the changes of chemical characteristics of Andisols and yield of potato.This research used Factorial Blocky Randomized Design with treatment Si dosage 0 kg SiO2/ha(S0), 750 kg SiO2/ha (S1), 1500 kg SiO2/ha (S2), 2250 kg SiO2/ha (S3), and P fertilizer dosage 0 kgP2O5/ha (P0), 90 kg P2O5/ha (P1), 180 kg P2O5/ha (P2), 270 kg P2O5/ha (P3), so there are sixteencombination and three blocks, so there are fourty eight units treatments. This result showed thatapplied Agrosil could increase soil pH, SiO2 available and decrease P retention. Applied Agrosilcould increase weight and amount of class A tuber(> 100 g/tuber) with the best dosage 1500 kgSiO2/ha at S2 treatment. Abstract

Land capability evaluation is an evaluation of land potential for use of various farmingsystems in general without specifying the allocation to certain crops and management actions. Theresearch was conducted in April of 2012. The purpose of this study was to determine the landcapability class on Sihiong, Sinar Sabungan and Lumban Lobu Village Toba Samosir Distric withthe method of limiting factors and matching according to land capability class Arsyad (1989).Analysis of the soil such as soil texture, permeability, bulk density, salinity and organic material areconducted in the Laboratory of Research and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University ofNorth Sumatra and field observations such as slope, erosion factors, soil depth, drainage, gravel /rock and inundation / flood hazard. The results showed that areas Sihiong, Sinar Sabungan andLumban Lobu has actual land capability class is the same class III (es), Class III is in which landcan be used for the production of crops and forests, (es) an limiting factor on erosion and the depthof the root zone or soil (solum). Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this research is to know the effect of the application of organic matter and kinds ofwater used on the physical characteristic of Ultisol and growth of Rosella plant(Hibiscus sabdariffa L). The research was conducted at compost centre, the screen house, and atChemistry and Fertility Laboratory, Research and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture,USU Medan from May until November 2012. The design used was randomized block design(RBD) which consits of 2 (two) factors, Factor 1: Organic Matter (M) with 4 types: M0 = control,M1 = Ultisol 90% + shell 5% + compost of dust 5% , M2 = Ultisol 90% + shell 5% + compost ofstubbles 5% , M3 = Ultisol 90% + shell 5% + compost of corn 5%. Factor 2: Kinds of water used(A) with 3 (three) levels: A0 = water, A1 = the iron of water, A2 = urine, and 2 (two) replication tomeet 24 experimental units. The result of this research showed that organic matter decreased bulkdensity, increased of growth plant but did not effect the content of soil water level and productionof Rosella plant, kind of water increased soil water level but did not effect descrease bulk density,growth and production of Rosella plant and interaction of both treatmets increased growth of plantas 3 MST but did not affect physical characteristic of Ultisol and production of Rosella plant.Keywords: chemical property of ultisol, organic matter, kind of water used, and productionof rosella plant

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the interaction effects of Silicate and Mycorrhizaapplication to Andisol on the phosphorus and maize growth. The experiment was conducted at thescreen house, at Laboratory of Chemistry and Soil Fertility, and Research and TechnologyLaboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatera, Medan from July until December2012 . Andisol soil was taken from horticultural farms at Kuta Rakyat Village, Naman Teran Subdistrict, Karo District. The design used was Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replicationand 2 (two) factors, namely Silicate (Si) consists which of 5 level: Si0(control), Si1(0.89 g/4 kg soil)Si2(1.78 g/4 kg of soil), Si3(2.67 g/4 kg soil), Si4(3.56 g/4 kg soil) and Mycorrhiza factor (Mi),which consists of three levels, that is: Mi0 (0 g/4 kg soil), Mi1(15 g/4 kg soil) Mi2(30 g /4 kg soil)and 3(three) replication to meet 45 experimental units. Abstract

The Objective of this study is determine the effect of rice straw compost and rice ash on somechemical properties of Ultisol and its effect on the growth of corn plants. The research was done ingauze house and Research and Technology Laboratory, Agricultural Faculty, University of NorthSumatera, Medan from May until July 2013. The study used randomized block design consits of twofactors with three replications. The first factor are rice sraw compost consist of four dosage level(g/5 kg dry oven soil weight) : K0 (0), K1 (25), K2 (50), K3 (75) and the second factore are rice ashconsist of four dosage level (g/5 kg dry oven soil weight) : M0 (0), M1 (10), M2 (20), M3 (30).Theresults showed that the effect of aplication of rice straw compost significantly increased soil Corganic,P-available, plant height, dry weight of a plant, plant N uptake, and plant P uptake but notsignificantly effect the soil pH and N-total of soil, aplication of rice ash significantly increased soilC-organic and plant N uptake but not significantly increased the soil pH, P-available, N-total of soil,plant hight, dry weight plant and plant P uptake.Keyword: ultisol, rice straw compost, rice ash

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to find out the land suitability classes in Petuaran Hilir villagePegajahan sub district Serdang Bedagai Regency for cassava. Obtained by 2 SPT (set of land) whatis determined by pursuant to map of land and ground type, map of inclination of slope fromtopography map with the scale 1 : 5000, is later conducted by overlay. Assessment of landsuitability pursuant to staff criterion center the research of land of bogor (1993) using landevaluation method with comparing (matching). The result of analysis showed the unity of allthe sample has appropriate class of land actual at set of land (SPT) 1 is S3(nr) and class of landpotential is S2 (rc). Abstract

This study aims to examine the fertility of the soil in the Sihiong Village, Sinar Sabungan Villageand Lumban Lobu Village, Bonatua Lunasi Subdistricts, Toba Samosir District. This research wasconducted in Sihiong Village, Sinar Sabungan Village and Lumban Lobu Village, SubdistrictsBonatua Lunasi, District Toba Samosir and Laboratory analysis of samples carried out in Researchand Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. The method used in thisstudy is a survey method to make observations on the soil profile and on each layer of the soilhorizon to compare the soil fertility.The soil in the village Sihiong have a somewhat acidic soil pH,organic matter content is moderate, moderate cation exchange capacity capability, very low basesaturation while high levels of total soil ferrum. The soil in the Village Sinar Sabungan have acidicsoil pH, organic matter content is moderate, the ability of the cation exchange capacity of themedium, which is very low base saturation while high levels of total soil ferrum. The soil fertility inthe village of Lumban Lobu have acidic soil pH, organic matter content is moderate, the ability ofthe cation exchange capacity of the medium, which is very low base saturation while high levels oftotal soil ferrum.Keyword: Sihiong village soil profile, Sinar Sabungan village soil profile, Lumban Lobu villagesoil profile
