Abstract

Research was conducted in Gaung Anak Serka River Sub-Province Indragiri Hilir in Octobertill januari 2008 as a mean to know status of quality of territorial water of Gaung Anak SerkaRiver evaluated from physics and chemical parameter, and community structure ofmakrozoobenthos. The Method used of survey and intake of sampel taken twice, in each stationof sampel taken at 3 dots at random. Research station consist of; station 1 (GAS river estuary),station 2 (Teluk Pinang), station 3 (Dusun Murni), station 4 (Teluk Pantaian), Station 5 (SungaiIliran), station 6 (Teluk Sungka), station 7 (Tuasan), station 8 (Dusun Pergam), station 9(Sungai Empat) and station 10 (Rambaian). Data has taken of quality of water either throughphysics and chemical parameter and also makrozoobenthos. Data of Exsitu analysed inLaboratory Faculty of Fishery and Marine Science of Riau University. Quality of physics waterparameters (temperature, brightness, deepness, current flow) still normal in a conditionaccording to PP. 82. year 2001, except brightness for station residing in part of downstream(station 1-5) have passed normal sill. Chemical parameters (pH, DO. TSS. COD, BOD, Nitrateand Fospat) also stay in normal gyration. While, organism of Macrozoobenthos found in riverconsist of 6 set of relatives, 5 Class and 6 Ordo. Set of relatives consist of Tucideae,Chironomideae, Baetidae, Ctenodrillidae, Donacidae and Nassariidae. Class coversOligochaeta, Insecta, Polychaeta, Pelecypoda and Gastropoda. Ordo Nematoda, Doptera,Ephemerptera, Ctenodrilida, Veneridea and Neagastropoda. Types of Macrozoobenthos areTubifek sp, Sp Chironomous, Baetis Sp, Ctenodrillus Serratus and Cyclop neritea.

Abstract

Observation was conducted to analyze the different density of Diadema setosum urchin in theseveral condition of coral reef in Mapur Island of Riau Archipelago Province, from 16 until31 July 2010. The result showed that density of urchin increase by decreasing coral cover.Density of sea urchins Diadema setosum were found 8.8 ind/m2 in the highest percentagecoral cover, i.e. 84.62%, and followed by 22.46 ind/m2 urchin in 59.74 % coral cover, and32.06 ind/m2 urchin in the condition of coral cover 35.15%. The different results amongthree research station may be coused by available of D. setosum.

Abstract

Tanjungpinang city has developed so rapidly. This development is feared will give badimpact to the quality of the waters of Riau River Estuary because it deals directly with thevarious activities which taking place in the Tanjungpinang city. This research was carriedout by the method of survey in August 2011; aims to determine the potential and thedistribution of environmental pollution in the waters of Riau River Estuary. Identification ofpollution potential is sourced from marine (marine based) such as fisheries, ship traffic andmooring boats; and from land (land based) mainly urban waste, residential, hotel andrestaurant, tourism, agriculture, industry and mining. The majority of water quality ismeasured has exceeded the quality standard limit of waters Kepmen LH RI. 51/2004 inAppendix III (for marine biota life).

Abstract

The results showed that the soil type Latosol consist of 49 species, dominance of the highesttype for Forest Seedlings were Manggis Hutan (Garcinia parvifolia), saplings of Ludai(Sapium beccatum), poles of Mahang (Macaranga gigantea), tree of Sendok-Sendok(Endospermum javanicum). Soil type of Brown Forest Soil consist of 28 species, The highestdominance Seedlings type of Pulai Sudu (Kibatalia boornensis), saplings of Tempinis (Sloetiaelongata), pole of Terap (Artocarpus elasticus), tree of Mahang (Macaranga gigantea). Soiltypes of Organosol consist of 21 species, the highest level of dominance type seedlings KelatMerah (Sizygium cuminii), Kelat Putih (Sizygium subglauca), Kopi-Kopi (Randiaanisophylla), the saplings of Tenggek Burung (Evodia aromatica), the pole of TenggekBurung (Evodia aromatica), The tree of Mahang (Macaranga hypoleuca). The highestspecies dominance values index (1) at the level of tree on the soil type of Organosol andLatosol, while the lowest (0.0426) at the level of sapling on the soil type of Latosol. Thehighest of diversity value index (3.4837) at the level of saplings on the soil type of Latosol,while the lowest (0.0000) at the level of trees on the soil type of Organosol and Latosol. Thehighest of Similarity index (23.33) at the similarity between Brown Forest Soil and Latosol atthe level of saplings, while the lowest of similarity index (0.00) at the similarity betweenLatosol and Brown Forest Soil at the level of tree, Organosol and Latosol at the level ofpoles and tree, Brown Forest Soil and Organosol at the level of seedling, pole and tree.

Abstract

Survay and analysis of water quality has been carried and in several rivers to know the effectof coal mines in the district of Singingi, Regency of Kuantan Singingi Riau Province on Aprilto November 2011. Water samples were collected from location of the mines effluent atSingingi River tributaries namelySepuh river, Geringging river, Keruh river, Tapi river, flowintoSingingi river. The results of water quality compared with the Government Regulation no.82 year2001 and refers to the Ministerial Decree. 115 year2003 on water quality indexshown that Geringging river and Keruh river were heavily polluted, however Sepuh riverand Tapi river were moderate polluted.

Abstract

Formal environmental education can be obtained at the school, because the school which isinvestment values about the environment in order to enhance students´ awareness of theenvironment. This needs to be inculcated in the students because they are the youngergeneration as a determinant of the future of the nation. Formulation of the problem in thisstudy is (1) whether there is a relationship between parental employment and livingenvironment with concern for the living environment (2) Which factor is most associatedwith concern of Students Cendana Junior High School Pekanbaru to school environmentbased on parental employment and living environment.Concern for the environment isinfluenced by various aspects such as knowledge, attitudes and responsibilities. Researchwas conducted in Pekanbaru Cendana Junior high school through survey methods, arequired primary data were obtained from leaners by questionnaire and secondary datahave been available at the school. Data analysis used chi-square tests and multipleregression analysis with helping of SPSS program.The results confirm that the studentscaring view of working parents whether they are CPI and non-CPI. Their parents who arenot CPI employees care more than CPI employees . While the students caring view ofliving environment in the complex and the outside of the CPI complex, the students who liveoutside of the CPI complex are more concerned than they live in the CPI complex. Comparethe children of CPI employees who live in complex and outside the complex, the children ofCPI employees who live outside the complex more concerned than they live in the complex.Then from the three variables that concern affecting are knowledge, attitude andresponsibility, the more dominant influence learners concern is the aspect of knowledge.

Abstract

The activities of local Community such as river transportation, housing andagriculture around Riau River have been affected the water quality of Riau RiverEstuary. Survey Method was applied in this research to describe Chlorophyll-aconcentration and Phytoplankton structure at Riau River Estuary. The average ofChlorophyll-a concentration was 3.77 μg/L. Species composition and abundance ofPhytoplankton were recorded 22 species from Bacillariophyceae class and 3 speciesfrom Dinophyceae with 234.647 cell/L of abundance average. Based on Chlorophyll-a concentration and Phytoplankton abundance could be indicated that Riau RiverEstuary has been categorized into bad eutrophication.Keywords: chlorophyll-a, phytoplankton, Riau River, Tanjungpinang

Abstract

Coastal settlement region with all the uniqueness of nature, beauty and appeal is an idealarea for development of settlement activity. The fact that the population growth rate is highwill result in changes to the existing ecosystem. Environmental conditions of coastalSelatpanjang city not arranged properly, moreover high level of poverty is one of reason thedecent settlement have not been fulfilled. The purpose of this study is to identify thecharacteristics of the coastal settlement Selatpanjang city, analyzed the usefulness of physicalsettlement as a living space, to support social, cultural and economic activities and todetermine the management strategies of coastal settlement Selatpanjang city. This study isusing the method of survey research and to transform quantitative data into qualitative datause a Likert scale. The result of this study found that the characteristics of the coastalsettlements of Selatpanjang city is dominated by the use of land up the majority of populationis used as a settlement, settlement condition is largely a non-permanent settlements and semi-permanent, and not the presence of coastal buildings yet. Physical conditions compatibilitylevel of the settlement as a living space with a residential component of legality, buildingstructure, the living space per occupant, water supply, availability of bathroom facilities,trash heap services and the electricity grid was found that the condition of occupancy “LessUnder” as a living space, the next level of concordance as a means of supporting social,cultural and economic activities of coastal communities Selatpanjang city with assessmentcomponent of health, education, religious duties, government and public services, open area,trade and services obtained results “Less Under”, so it is necessary to repair or provision ofthe settlement. Strategic management of the coastal settlement Selatpanjang city to do withthe control of land use, increased as a function of residential living space, improving thequality of neighborhoods as well as the improvement of housing facilities and infrastructure.Keywords: Coastal Settlement Region, Compliance rate and Strategy Management

Abstract

The aims of this research to assess the environmental condition of the Senapelan river andSail river waters by the species abundance of epilithic diatom. This research identified 14genera of epilithic diatom. The abundance of epilithic diatom at Senapelan river 48.779cell/cm2 and Sail river 15.564 cell/cm2. The value of diversity indices (H ), Senapelan river(2.936) and Sail river (2.336), the value of equability indices (E ), Senapelan river (0.691)and Sail river (0.550), and the dominant indices (C), Senapelan river (0.187) and the Sailriver (0.336). Based on these indices Senapelan river and Sail river were included intomoderate polluted waters.
