Abstract

This study aims to explain how the values of Islamic education in the culture are found in the community of Lampung Pepadun. The implementation of the culture of Nemui Nyimah in the community of Tiyuh Panaragan is seen in hospitality activities, such as there are procedures or adab-adab visiting and receiving guests. Data analysis techniques used by researchers are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing / verification. The results of this study state that: The implementation of the culture of Nemu Nyimah in the Tiyuh Panaragan community can be seen in hospitality activities, such as adab-adab visiting and receiving guests in the community of Tiyuh Panaragan. Based on the results of the Nemu Nyimah Study, it is an explicit culture which means that it cannot be seen in any form, but the culture of Nemu Nyimah is always in any activity or event such as deliberation, forum mulei menganai, yasinan, ngakuk majeu (taking girls), and manjau debingei.

Abstract

ABSTRAK 1 Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) apakah pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan open-ended menghasilkan kemampuan berpikir matematis yang lebih baik daripada pendekatan konvensional pada materi trigonometri, (2) apakah siswa yang mempunyai respon tinggi mempunyai kemampuan berpikir matematis yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang mempunyai respon sedang, apakah siswa yang mempunyai respon sedang mempunyai kemampuan berpikir matematis yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang mempunyai respon rendah, dan apakah siswa yang mempunyai respon tinggi mempunyai kemampuan berpikir matematis yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang mempunyai respon rendah, (3) pada pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konvensional, siswa dengan respon manakah yang menghasilkan kemampuan berikir matematis yang lebih baik, sedangkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan open-ended, siswa dengan respon manakah yang menghasilkan kemampuan berikir matematis yang lebih baik, (4)  pada siswa yang mempunyai respon tinggi, apakah pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan open-ended menghasilkan kemampuan berpikir matematis yang lebih baik daripada pendekatan konvensional pada materi trigonometri, sedangkan pada siswa yang mempunyai respon sedang, apakah pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan open-ended menghasilkan kemampuan berpikir matematis yang lebih baik daripada pendekatan konvensional pada materi trigonometri, dan pada siswa yang mempunyai respon rendah, apakah pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan open-ended menghasilkan kemampuan berpikir matematis yang lebih baik daripada pendekatan konvensional pada materi trigonometri, (5) bagaimana tingkatan kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa berdasarkan pendekatan pembelajaran, (6) bagaimana tingkatan kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa berdasarkan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian eksperimental semu. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo tahun ajaran 2011/2012, yang terdiri dari 10 kelas dengan banyaknya siswa 318. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu 2 kelas dengan jumlah total siswa kedua kelas tersebut adalah 62 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan data yang berupa data nilai ulangan harian matematika Semester II Kelas X tahun pelajaran 2011/2012, metode angket untuk data respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dan metode tes untuk data kemampuan berpikir matematais siswa pada materi Trigonometri pokok bahasan aturan sinus dan cosinus. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis variansi dua jalan dengan sel tak sama. Sebagai persyaratan analisis yaitu populasi berdistribusi normal  menggunakan uji Lilliefors/kolmogorov-smirnov dan populasi mempunyai variansi yang sama (homogen) menggunakan uji F  untuk dua populasi dan menggunakan metode Bartlett untuk tiga populasi. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitianinimenggunakanmetode quasi-experimental yang bertujuanuntukmeningkatkansiswadalammenulisteks hortatory exposition. Dalampenelitianini, teknik Tree Diagram digunakanuntukmengetahuikeberhasilanteknikinidalammenulisteksargumen. Sampelpenelitianiniadalahsiswakelas XI IPA 4 yang terdiridari 38 siswasebagaikelompokekperimendansiswakelas XI IPA 5 yang terdiridari 38 siswasebagaikelompokpengontrol di SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Hasil dari t-test adalah t-value (10,5) lebih tinggi dari t-table (2,660).Effect size dari penelitian ini adalah “modest effect” dimana hasil dari penghitungan adalah (0,40). Oleh karena itu, dapat di simpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknik Tree Diagramdapatmeningkatkanpenulisanteks argument siswadalammengorganisirdanmengembangkan ide-ide.   Kata kunci: menulis hortatory, tree diagram, experimental   Abstract: This research used a quasi-experimental to improve students’ hortatory exposition writing.In this research, the tree diagram technique was used to find out the effectiveness of this technique in writing hortatory exposition text.The samples were observedin this research were students of class XI IPA 4 that consisted of 38 students as the experimental group and students of class XI IPA 5 that consisted of 38 students as the control group at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya.The result from t-test was that t-value (10.5) was higher than t-table (2.660). Abstract

This study aimed to describe resilience profile of mothers whose children are autistic.  Resilience Quotient (RQ) was developed by Karen Reivich and Andrew Shatte (2002), and consisted of 56 items measuring 7 factors in Likert Scale. Those factors are emotional regulation, impulse control, optimism, causal analysis, empathy, self-efficacy, and reaching out.  This research resulted in some findings concerning mothers being observed and interviewed. Those mothers —15 of them—have the same characteristic: they are able to accept and develop their children potent in maximum height.   They  have impulse control and high scale optimism that enable them to develop their children.  Kajian ini bertujuan menggambarkan profil ‘resilience’ pada ibu-ibu yang berputera autis di Bandung. Resilience Quotient (RQ) dikembangkan oleh Karen Reivich dan Andrew Shatte (2002), terdiri dari 56 item yang mengukur 7 faktor dalam Skala Likert. Faktor-faktor tersebut adalah regulasi emosi, kontrol impuls, optimisme, analisis kausal, empati, efektivitas diri, dan kemampuan menjangkau. Penelitian terhadap 15 ibu yang diobservasi dan diwawancarai menggunakan RQ memperlihatkan kesamaan karakteristik di antara mereka. Yaitu, sama-sama mampu menerima dan mengembangkan potensi anaknya secara maksimum. Para ibu ini juga memiliki kontrol impuls dan optmisme skala tinggi yang memungkinkan mereka mengembangkan anaknya.

Abstract

Abstract:The purpose of this research is to describe the effectiveness of the teaching the video “checking in hotel” to improve the students’ speaking ability. The subjects of this research are hotel students of SMA Cinta Bumi Khatulistiwa Pontianak in the academic year of 2012/2013. The method of this research is pre-experimental. The data analysis indicated that students’ speaking skill improved. The interval mean score of posttest and pretest is 4.68. It means that students gained better speaking skill using video “checking in hotel” score in posttest than that in pretest significantly. The teaching is statistically found effective to improve students’ speaking skill, which is not only can relax students’ mind, but also keep them active during classroom activity. Keywords: teaching, speaking skill.   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan video “checking in hotel” untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Subjek Penelitian ini adalah siswa jurusan perhotelan dari SMA Cinta BUmi Khatulistiwa Pontianak tahun akademik 2012/2013. Dalam studi ini, pra-eksperimental adalah metode yang diaplikasikan. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berbicara siswa meningkat. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh interval rerata nilai siswa sebesar 4.68 yang berarti siswa mendapatkan nilai yang cukup signifikan di posttest. Pelmbelajaranmenggunakanmetode inisecarastatistikefektifuntukmeningkatkankemampuanberbicaraparasiswa yang tidak hanya membuat siswa relaks, namun juga tetap aktif selama proses pembelajaran.   Kata kunci: mengajar, keterampilan berbicara.

A Comparative Study of the Effects of Vibration and Electrical Stimulation Therapies on the Acceleration of Wound Healing in Diabetic Ulcers

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetic ulcers accompanied by ischemia is difficult to treat. Such ulcers require therapy that can improve the blood flow. Previous studies have revealed that two therapies could improve blood flow and accelerate the healing of diabetic ulcers; vibration and electrical stimulation (ES). However, it is unknown which of these two therapies is best at accelerating wound healing in diabetic ulcers. The purpose of this study was to compare both therapies in relation to accelerating the wound healing of diabetic ulcers. Methods: This study was an experimental study involving diabetic rats. The rats were divided into two groups: vibration and ES. Vibration and ES were applied for 10 minutes per day for 7 days. Wound size, inflammation, intensity of fibroblast infiltration, area of necrosis and degree of re-epithelialisation were compared. The difference in wound size was analysed using an independent t-test, while the histological data were analysed using a Mann-Whitney U-test. Results: On day 5 onwards, there was a thin slough in the ES group which was not present in the vibration group. Day 4 onwards and the wound size was significantly smaller in the vibration group than in the ES group. The intensity of inflammation was significantly less, and the degree of fibroblast infiltration was significantly higher in the vibration group compared with the ES group. Re-epithelialisation was more advanced in the vibration group than the ES group. Conclusions: Our study revealed that wound healing in diabetic ulcers following vibration was better than after ES. We suggest that nurses should use vibration rather than ES in clinical settings.

Modification of Breast Pump as a Negative Pressure Wound Therapy for Accelerating Wound Healing of Diabetic Ulcer

Abstract

Introduction: Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) is considered as the best treatment for accelerating wound healing, including diabetic ulcer. However, this device is still not available in Indonesia. Therefore, the purpose of this study were to make NPWT by using modifi cation of breast pump, and to elucidate the effect of this device on acceleration of wound healing in diabetic ulcer. Method: NPWT was made by using digital breast pump. Wounds were divided into two groups; wound-treated by NPWT (experimental group) and wound-untreated by NPWT (control). The negative pressure used for this study was 85 mmHg. Rats were sacrifi ced on day 7, and wound samples and surrounding skin were stained with Hematoxylin and Eosyn. Infl ammation, intensity of necrotic tissue, and wound closure were observed. Result: The device could deliver a negative pressure at a range of 85–140 mmHg. Wound size in the experimental group was smaller than in control group. Infl ammation was also less in the experimental group than control group. Discussion: The modifi cation of breast pump could be used as a negative pressure therapy for wounds, and has effect on reducing infl ammation and necrotic tissue. Further study is needed to elucidate the effect of this device on human subject.Keywords: diabetic wound, breast pump, negative pressure, wound healing

Abstract

The study authors did in High School District of the City Bangkinang Kampar regency namely SMA SMA N 1 and N 2 Bangkinang Bangkinang. This study, entitled "Implementation of Family Function In Womens Work (Case Study High School Teacher) In high school SMA N 1 and N 2 Bangkinang Bangkinang Bangkinang District of Kampar regency". Topics focus of this research is how the division of time high school teacher in carrying out the role of housewife. In this study, researchers used informants through key informant research where researchers have understood the initial information about the object of research as well as research informants using Snowball Sampling. Informants in this study are high school teachers Bangkinang City District of Kampar regency as many as 11 people. The author uses qualitative descriptive method and the data was analyzed qualitatively. Data instrument is observation, interview, Library Studies and documentation. From research by the author. The authors conclude that the characteristics of the respondents work, more are dependents in the top 3 people in because of the distance the child of the other nearby, which make the cost of education and the need for more and more in day-to-day, on average, respondents had high school upwards, and that makes respondents work due to economic factors that are difficult at this time. Respondents are very big role in the family income, the income distribution of respondents 40% to help meet the needs of the family. The remaining 60% is still the husbands who find the money to meet the family economy. 7 functions of the family, only 5 function which is still on the run and held on a regular basis and by others, that the function of affect, socialization, status determination, protection and economic functions. while two other functions, namely: lack of sexual and reproductive setting run, this is due to the busyness of the respondents outside the home so that sexual and reproductive function did not go well.Keywords: A housewife and her role. Abstract

Problems in this study, namely lack of speaking skills group B TK Assalam. This study aimed to determine the effect of puppet figure media toward children speaking skills. The method  used Pre-experimental designed that describes the relationship between two variables, puppets figure and children speaking skills. The subjects of this study were 26 of B children group in Assalam kindergarten  Data were collected by observation and documentation, while analyzed by using cross table and simple linear regression analysis. The result showed  that there is an effect of puppet figure toward children speaking skills in B group, Assalam kindergarten. This was verified by the influence of puppet figure by 20.2% againts children speaking skill. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya keterampilan berbicara kelompok B TK Assalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aktivitas alat peraga gambar wayang terhadap keterampilan berbicara anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimental designs yang hubungan antara variabel aktivitas penggunaan alat peraga gambar wayang dan keterampilan berbicara. Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok B TK Assalam yang berjumlah 26 anak. Teknik penggumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis tabel silang, analisis uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya pengaruh aktivitas alat peraga gambar wayang terhadap keterampilan berbicara anak kelompok B. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan  adanya pengaruh sebesar 20,2 %. Kata Kunci : aktivitas, alat peraga gambar wayang, keterampilan berbicara
