Abstract

In the crystallization process for manufacturing of cooking oil, there are two products will beproduced, namely liquid phase (cooking oil) and solid phase (stearine). In general stearin produced fromMini Plant Polytechnic Kampar usually just put the sector in a vessel and allowed to stand in an infinitetime, resulted in a bad odor of cracking oil. This study aim to produce a solid soap with compose anappropriate stearin, and meet criteria of SNI 06-3532-1994 on soaps. Parameters determined were thepercentage of stearin, the water content, the number of Alkali-free as NaOH, the amount of fatty acid,free fatty acid and mineral oil. The results show that solid soap was relatively good quality and met theISO, standard which is composed up to 15% of stearine. The solid soap also contained saturated fattyacid of less than 70%, moisture content of 14%, saturated fatty acid content of 54.34%, the alkali contentof 0.03%, FFA levels of 0.33% and no mineral oil found.

Abstract

Pembuatan kompos dari tandan kosong kelapa sawit sudah banyak dilakukan dengan metodesederhana. Beberapa penelitian yang dilakukan untuk mempercepat waktu pengomposan dilakukanoleh Baharuddin et.al (2009) yang mengembangkan teknologi thermophillic in vessel dan windrowssystem yang dapat meningkatkan komposting dari tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan palm oil milleffluent (POME) pada skala industri. Pembuatan kompos dilakukan dengan open windrowcomposting antara tandan kosong kelapa sawit yang sudah dipres dengan memberikan POME.Melalui inovasi teknologi nano kompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit diharapkan dapat menjadi solusiaternatif dari permasalahan karena tingginya harga pupuk non organik, peningkatan kualitas pupukorganik dan dalam rangka mewujudkan industri PKS tanpa polusi limbah padat.

Abstract

Clay bath is where the separation of the shell, core nucleus intact and broken. The process of separation occurs because of differences in density between the core with the shell with the help of a solution of CaCO3. Core with a lighter density in the solution of CaCO3 floats and shells with a greater specific gravity settle to the bottom. This process is carried out in a cone-shaped vessel is equipped with a pump to circulate CaCO3. The existence of the circulation of fluid motion will bring the kernel into the sieve vibration to be cleaned and then sent to the kernel in the Kernel Wet Fan heading to Kernel Shiloh to the heat. This reseach compared the performance of the solution with a solution of Na2CO3 and CaCO3 in their shells and kernels, seen from the solubility rate between kalsim carbonate and sodium carbonate in water
