Abstract

Development of E-learning sites and their materials make it is necessary to help users finding the desired materials. Context-based search engine will help users for the finding task. However that kind of searching can only be done for learning materials that have been semantically signed or annotated. Annotation is given for the article’s content or the article’s image within. There are many constraints for manually providing annotations to the learning articles such that automatic metadata or annotation generating method is needed. This paper discusses about annotation generating system with two subsystems: annotation recommender for learning material using contextual analysis and image metadata generator. The methods for contextual analysis are Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) and WordNet-lexical dictionary usage. Our experimental results showed that subsystems can be used to generate annotation for articles and images in the articles though we have not done combination of two subsystems.

Abstract

ABSTRACT In the implementation of the powers, duties and functions of the Notary, as the an authentic documents maker, trouble reading, and signing of deed by the parties have expressly provided for in Article 1 of Law Number. 2 of 2014 on amendments to the law No. 30 of 2004. But in practice, sometimes the signing of the Notary deed after reading is not always immediately signed by both parties, for reasons of time efficiency, the parties are running an emergency business, conduct meetings with shareholders for example. This was possible if the agreements have been executed by the parties and the Notary Public knows well with both the appear before. It needs to underline that signing the deed was done on the same date. Meanwhile, if carried out on different days, with minimized risk and legal consequences in the future should be given power of attorney specified in the deed or the deed attached to produce minutes, so the signing of the deed immediately after the reading of the deed. If not then the deed is made cannot be as valid evidence and irrevocable due to non-fulfilment of the terms subjective and objective of a treaty. For Notary as public official, he should consider tha provision of Article 16 of UUJN.Problems in the study include how the implementation of the provisions regarding the time of the deed signing by the penghadap [~ who appear before], witnesses and the Notary according to UUJN No. 2 of 2014 on amendments to the law No. 30 of 2004 in the practice and Notarial position upon deed is not done at the same time of its signing by the appear before.

Abstract

The peat water has low pH and it can be improved by adding bentonite and lime. The use of lime, however, produced relatively large amount of sediment. To understand the effectiveness of combined bentonite and lime in osmofilter paper package to increase the pH, a study has been conducted on May- July 2016. Combination of 1,7 g bentonite and 1,7 g lime were wrapped using osmofilter paper and were immersed in 2 L of different pH (2,3,4,5 and 6) peat water. After being kept for 45 minutes, the water quality was checked. Results shown that the package of bentonite and lime was effective to improve the pH. In all treatments, the pH increased, ranged from 7 to 9, but the treated water has relatively high colour and organic matter solid.   The treated water was use to rear Cyprinus carpio seedlings. By the 4th day, the survival rate of these fish was 90%. Based  on data obtained, it can be concluded that the use of combined bentonite, lime and osmofilter paper is effective to improve the quality of peat water, but is may not effective in reducing the colour and organic matter. Keyword : Peat Water, Osmofilter paper, Bentonit and Lime

Abstract

Primary flight control pada pesawat udara terdiri dari aileron, rudder dan elevator, Secondary flight control terdiri dari  flaps,  slats, spoiler dan  trim tab. Pesawat sebelum terbang harus dipastikan semua flight control dalam keadaan balance. Jika tidak, maka flutter akan terjadi ketika pesawat tersebut mengudara. Flutter adalah salah satu fenomena aeroelastisitas, yaitu fenomena getaran yang mengakibatkan  sayap   pesawat   terbang  â€œmengepak”  seperti   sayap   burung.  Hal   ini   diakibatkan karena kombinasi efek kekakuan struktur sayap, aerodinamika serta inersia (berat) dari struktur. Untuk menghindari terjadinya flutter harus dilakukan balancing flight control, salah satunya pada Tab Elevator. Tab elevator sering disebut dengan trim tab pada elevator. Trim Tab tersebut melekat pada elevator yang terletak pada horizontal stabilizer. Meskipun trim tab merupakan secondary flight control, harus tetap dipastikan balance. Cara balancing tab elevator adalah dengan metode jig procedure, dimana tab harus dilepas terlebih dahulu. Balance atau tidaknya tab elevator ditentukan dari nilai Tab Assembly Moment (TAM). Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah 15.22 lbfinch dan tab dikatakan balance, karena menurut Structural Repair Manual (SRM) Boeing 737-800 range maksimal nilai TAM adalah 15.48 lbfinch. Jika pada penelitian didapatkan hasil lebih dari 15.48 lbfinch, maka tab harus dikembalikan ke paint shop untuk dilakukan pengelupasan beberapa lapisan catnya agar mengurangi beban tab tersebut. Apabila pengurangan beban pada tab tidak bisa dilakukan lagi, maka Tab tersebut dianggap reject (tidak layak) dan harus diganti dengan yang baru.

Abstract

 The objective of this study was trying to analyze the impact of using video game in developing student’s vocabulary mastery. The method of this study was quantitative. The design of the research was based on the experimental study. Pre-test and post-test was given to 37 students of class H fifth semester of Sorong Muhammadiyah University. Score of the test was divided into five categories, they were very good, good, fairly, poor and very poor. The mean score of pre-test was 6, 51 in fairly category and the mean score of post-test was 8, 5 in very good category. It showed that the mean score of test after given the treatment was higher than test before given the treatment. The result of the t-test showed that played video games gave a significant effect on the students’ vocabulary mastery. The result of t-test was higher than t table (8, 96 > 1.68830).

Abstract

Abstract This research was conducted to find out whether or not The Use of Contextual Teaching and Learning Method was Improve Students’ Understanding on The use of Relative Clause at Sorong Muhammadiyah University. The research method employed was quasi experimental groups. The population of this research was conducted at fifth semesters on English Education Department at Sorong Muhammadiyah University. The sample was chosen by applying stratified sampling technique. This research assigned two groups namely control and experimental groups. Each group consisted of 20 students.. Instrument of this research was test. The research gets the result that Contextual Teaching and Learning Method was effective to improve students’ understanding on the use of Relative Clause. The result of test showed that there was significant progress in students. The results of the research showed that mean score posttest of the experimental group was 84 and the control group was 80. It means that the result of the mean score posttest of experimental group is higher than control group. By using the degree of significance 5% or 0.05 in the t-table it was gotten 2.021. So that t-test value was more than of t-table value (H1: 5,31 > 2.021), So that alternative hypothesis is accepted, while Null hypothesis is rejected (Ho: 5,31 < 2.021). It can be proved that there was a significant on Contextual teaching and Learning method to improve students’ understanding on the use of relative clause. Key words: Relative Clause, Contextual Teaching and Learning.

Abstract

Penggunaan minyak goreng bekas tidak baik untuk kesehatan karena minyak telah mengalami kerusakan, dimana minyak lebih kental, berbusa, warna coklat dan bau yang tidak disukai. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya usaha efesiensi pengolahan minyak goreng bekas, diharapkan agar dapat digunakan kembali. Proses utama dalam penelitian ini adalah adsorbsi dengan bentonitPada penelitian ini dilakukan proses adsorbsi dengan mengunakan bentonit. Variabel bebas yang digunakan yaitu temperatur dan persen bentonit sedangkan variabel tetapnya adalah waktu operasi dan berat minyak. Untuk analisa digunakan analisa FFA, pH, angka asam, kadar air, peroksida, densitas dan viskositas (kualitatif) serta bau, warna dan endapan (kuantitatif).  Dari hasil penelitian didapat kondisi operasi yang baik pada percobaan ini adalah temperatur 900C dengan  20 % bentonit.

Abstract

This article aims at providing students’ oral communication in speaking class. There were two specific purposes to gain the data namely to find out the effects of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in teaching oral communication especially in speaking ability and to disclose the responses of students in the learning process by using Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). In order to obtain the comprehensive data, the writers used performance test and questionnaire with 32 respondents on speaking class. This research was applied in quantitative method. The writers used the design of interact group comparison. The result showed that there was a significant effect on the use of CLT approach. It was proven that t observation was bigger than   t table; t observation was 2.98 while t table was 2.021 (2.98> 2.021). Most of the students  agreed if CLT was applied in teaching-learning activites, especially in speaking class because it could help them in improving their ability in oral communication. The results of their opinion towards the application of CLT were expressed by chosing option 4 (agree) and 5 (strongly agree) in every indicator. For indicator 1 and 10, students tent to choose option 5 (strongly agree) with the percentage of 56.3 and the mean of 2.8. In indicator 2 and 4, the students tent to choose option 5 with the percentage of 59.4 and the mean of 3.0. In indicator 3 and 7, the students tent to choose option 4 (agree) with the percentage of 62.5, and mean score of 2.5. For indicator 5 and 6, the students chose option 5 with the percentage of 50.0 and mean score of 2.5. For indicator 8 and 9, most of the students tent to choose option 5 (strongly agree). The percentage and mean score were different. In indicator 8, the percentage was 56.3 with the mean score of 2.3 whereas in indicator 9, the percentage was 68.8 which the mean score of 2.8 more of the respondents were strongly agree with the application of CLT approach in speaking class. It made the students interestend in following  speaking class and the students have confidence to speak with other friend or lecturer inside or outside the classroom.

Abstract

Mosquitoes are animals that are very often found in everyday life. Starting from the home environment, to the school environment. Mosquitoes are also animals that can carry various diseases. The FMIPA UNY Biology Garden Laboratory is overgrown with trees and there is a pool of water from several ponds that are deliberately made. That is what makes mosquitoes like the environment that is included in their habitat. At the UNY Biology Garden Laboratory, which is one of the student learning locations, mosquitoes are found flying and sometimes disrupting learning activities because they can stab and cause itching. The disturbance is feared to cause mosquito-borne diseases in students who are active in biology gardens. So that mosquito traps are made that are modified and adapted to the needs and location of the target. The tool made is a simple mosquito trap that utilizes a pool of water from a fish pond and a net from mesh or paranet cloth. The target place is the FMIPA UNY Biology Garden Laboratory, especially the pool area. While the target is the larvae or seeds of mosquitoes left by the mother. It is expected that the mosquitoes will perch on the paranet to lay eggs, then the eggs will fall down and will be eaten by fish. This is in addition to reducing the growth of mosquitoes, it can also be used for alternative food for fish, which can reduce spending to buy fish feed. Key words: mosquitos, trap
