Abstract

Amount of water that obtained soil depend on soil ability to quick absorp and continue water accepted from soil surface. Water holding capacity of soil are influenced by soil texture and organic matter. The purpose of th is research was to study soil water holding capacity on two textures of soils l.e. clay, and clay loam by organic matter application of chicken manure and compost. Those treatments were control, combined of chicken manure different texture soils, and combined of compost different texture soil. Chicken manure and compost application consisted of two levels of 30 9 5 kg-l soil texture and 50 9 5 kg-l soil texture, respectively. Soil texture consisted of two kinds l.e, clay, and clay loam. The research was analyzed according to descriftive method. Result of this research indicated that the highest available water capacity of 17.352 % was given by combined t reatment of 50 9 compost of 5 kg clay textured soils. The lowest evaporation rate had occur at clay texture soils.

Abstract

Cangkurawok Village is located in the outer of the Bogor Agricultural University area and does not have good sanitation facilities. Disposal of domestic wastewater directly discharges into drainage channels to river. Wastewater treatment plant design from toilets communal divides into three stages. The first stage is determining the location of toilets communal and excreta treatment plant. Location provided by the public is around 5 meters above the surface of the river water. The second stage is the determination of service areas. In this village consists of 70 heads of households as the basic criteria for determining the volume of septic tanks. The last step is determining the design of toilets communal and wastewater treatment unit. This stage requires t he unit options that fits on the selected sites, based on ease of maintenance and no need employ trained operators. Waste treatment facility consists septic tank and infiltration well planning. Septic tank volume is 26.5 m3 with the long dimension of 2.75 m, width of 5.5 m and height of 1.5 m plus 0.3 meters for free board. Septic tank serving four toilets communal is built above it, with the division of space for two men and two spaces for women. infi lt rat ion well constructed to absorb the waste liquid vertically through the soil pores. Layers of sand and gravel is spread throughout the wells to assist the flow pattern. Depth and diameter of infiltration well are 3 m and 1 rn, This wells should be placed lower than the drinking water sources and wells, with a minimum distance of 15 m.

Abstract

In most hydroponics farms, nutrient solution is distributed into individual crop through drip irrigation. The growers operate the pump manually according to weather condition. Under such manual control, losses of nutrient solution are often reported. An automatic control system based on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) has been developed to reduce the losses while accurately supply the nutrient solution needed by the crop. The control system was composed of water content sensor for growing medium, PLC, and electronic relay for nutrient solution pump. A computer program was written in ladder form based on an algorithm developed to control the pump. The computer program was installed into the PLC which was the main unit in the control system. Field test had been conducted to evaluate the performance of the system in controlling the supply of nutrient solution for cucumber and tomato crops. Results showed that the control system perform well in controlling the pump for nutrient solution supply. Abstract

The soil strength characteristic, which is usually e.xpressed bycohesion and internal piction, is as basic data for applying farmmachineries/equipments and farm structures. The objective of this research is to study the soil strength and density relationships of latosol and red yellowish podzolic soil. This research was conducted by standard compaction test and soil strength test (uniaxial, direct shear and triaxiul).

Abstract

Drip/trikle irrigation is an irrigation method, which gives high efficiency, high effectivity and assuraes high productivity/yield. This method, is often used for hortivulture and vegetable. The objectives of this research is to study the effect of drip irrigation by continuous water application using 1 and 2 emitters on water distribution and crop growth.The result show that irrigation water by using 2 emitter was spread horizontally more, gave taller crops and more leaves that that using 1 emitter. In general, the effect of continuous water application was beter than intermittent water application.

Abstract

Air merupakan elemen yang sangat penting bagi keberlanjutan hidup makhluk hidup setiap harinya. Air juga digunakan untuk irigasi pertanian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi air sungai di PG. Bungamayang PTPN VII, Lampung. Penelitian ini terbatas pada embung 190 PG. Bungamayang PTPN VII yang merupakan bagian dari DAS Tulang Bawang yang secara geografi terletak pada 104° 52' 07" BT dan 04° 35' 24" LS. Pada penelitian ini, analisis SWAT dilakukan menggunakan ArcSWAT 2012 sebagai plug-in pada ArcGIS 10. Pada simulasi ini, terdapat 4 tahapan proses, yaitu delineasi daerah DAS, pembentukan HRU, pengolahan data dan simulasi SWAT, serta proses visualisasi. Untuk proses validasi, digunakan perbandingan antara debit simulasi SWAT dengan debit observasi dari tanggal 20 Maret hingga 5 April 2014. Hasil simulasi SWAT menunjukan debit rata-rata sebesar 0.066 m3/s. Sedangkan untuk debit observasi, diperoleh debit rata- rata sebesar 0.043 m3/s dengan koefesien korelasi sebesar 0,897. Potensi air sungai dapat ditunjukan dengan debit rataan tahunan permodelan SWAT dengan debit rataan maksimum tahunan sebesar 0.143 m3/s pada bulan April and debit rataan minimum tahunan sebesar0.018 m3/s yang terjadi pada bulan Septembar sehingga diperoleh total potensi air sungai pada Embung 190 di PG Bungamayang PTPN VII, Lampung sebesar 2 373 950.55 m3 tiap tahunnya.Kata kunci: DAS Tulang Bawang, HRU, potensi air sungai, SWAT

Abstract

Regional development is targeted to make better growth in the rural area, by improving farmer’s welfare and minimizing the gap among the regions. In particular, the developement aims to increase farmers income percapita as an income indicators of developement in rural area. In the irrigation area, the regional development  can also increase the domestic revenue by providing value added program in this region. The existing regional plan (RTRW) of  Cianjur in 2013 –2031 a part of the study area (Cihea irrigation system) are planned to be converted in to  industrial area, it reaches 4209.903 ha. This research aims to provide an irrigation system based developement strategy for guiding to the implementation of the RTRW. In the irrigation system, there are water resources and agricultural activities, mostly in food comodities. These resources will be considered in the study in order to achieve the target of rural development as for the implemention of RTRW. In this research, it analyzed suply and demand of irrigation, based on water balance calculation and farm production, the prospective industrial area in the region for processing the  raw product of farming. As the result, The agricultural land convertion should be targeted into processing plant for rice and soy. By these scenarios, the water resources were able to irrigate area of 5484  ha with cropping pattern of rice-rice -secondary foodcrop as the minimum discharge occured in September its about 0.553 m3/second. The total production of this raw agricultural product  can be processed to rice snack and cereal beisde of rice, thus being able to gave rise in income of farmer to Rp2 461 706,- per planting season.based on spatial analyze, the area which is can be developed are Ciranjang, Sukaratu, Sindangjaya, Mekargalih, Bojongpicung, Kertajaya, dan Cibiuk.

Abstract

Penurunan ketersediaan air akibat perubahan penggunaan lahan telah terjadi di Kabupaten Konawe, sedangkan permintaan air cenderung meningkat. Dari segi keberlanjutan penyediaan air, hal ini cukup mengkhawatirkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis: (1) tingkat keberlanjutan, (2) faktor penting yang memengaruhi keberlanjutan, (3) peran kelembagaan dalam pengelolaan air baku berkelanjutan di Sub DAS Konaweha. Hasil analisis Multi Dimensional Scalling (MDS) dengan Rap-Konawe menunjukkan bahwa status keberlanjutan pengelolaan air baku di Sub DAS Konaweha kurang berkelanjutan dengan indeks 41,40%. Nilai indeks keberlanjutan diukur pada 5 dimensi yaitu ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, teknologi, dan kelembagaan dengan nilai indeks masing-masing secara berurutan 52,36%, 36,93%, 34,16%, 35,39% dan 35,39%. Hasil analisis Interpretative Structural Modelling (ISM) menunjukkan tiga unsur yang perlu diperhatikan yaitu kendala, kebutuhan, dan lembaga. Kendala penting yang dihadapi adalah penurunan fungsi daerah tangkapan air karena berkurangnya vegetasi dan kurangnya koordinasi pengelolaan sumber daya air antara para pemangku kepentingan. Kebutuhan program yang harus menjadi fokus perhatian adalah peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan personil kantor pemerintah, serta peningkatan kesadaran stakeholder. Adapun lembaga yang menjadi faktor kunci untuk program ini adalah BPDAS Sampara dan Dinas Kehutanan Kabupaten Konawe.

Abstract

Dalam tulisan ini akan dibahas tentang hasil-hasil eksperimental membajak tanah pada soil bin. Tujuannya adalah mencari besar dan frekuensi gaya potong tanah sehingga dapat dibuat pendekatan pendekatan model matematis dari gaya potong tanah. Hasil ini nantinya akan digunakan untuk merancang sebuah pegas elastis dari bajak getar jenis self excited vibration. Soil bin berukuran panjang 1.2 m, lebar 0.3 m dan tinggi 0.4 m. diisi dengan lapisan tanah jenis clay loam soil setebal 19-20 cm. Di dasar Soil bin dibuat lapisan hardpan setebal 10-11 cm dengan tahanan penetrasi sekitar 2.75 Mpa. Digunakan dua jenis chisel plough yaitu chisel plough dengan batang lurus tegak dan chisel plough dengan batang lurus miring. Kedalaman operasi diatur konstan sekitar 15 cm sedangkan tebal lapisan hardpan yang dibongkar adalah sekitar 5-6 cm Kecepatan membajak divariasikan pada kecepatan sekitar 0.108, 0.158, 0.212 dan 0.265 m/dt. Hasil-hasil menunjukkan bahwa chisel plough bekerja pada frekuensi pemotongan tanah yang rendah sekitar 1.45-2.0 Hz. Gaya potong tanah untuk chisel plough dengan batang lurus tegak lebih besar dibandingkan dengan gaya potong tanah untuk chisel plough dengan batang lurus miring.Gaya potong tanah semakin besar dan linier dengan semakin besarnya kecepatan membajak, sedangkan profilgaya potong tanahnya berupa fungsi matematiks yang stochastics dan dimodelkan sebagai fungsi periodik. Kata kunci: Draught force, Cutting frequency, Soil bin, Chisel plough
