Abstract

TITLETHE DIFFERENCE IMPACT of  INDEPENDENT UKGS BETWEEN SD ANTONIUS II AND SD PETRA SEMARANGABSTRACTOral Health Program for School Children (UKGS Program) has been implemented by Community Health Center since 1951 but the result isn’t satisfied yet. National research of Health 2013 has found that the dental caries prevalence among children in Indonesia has increased 13,7%. DMF-T index among 12 years old children has increased from 0.91 to 1.4. It means that there are 140 decays among 100 children nowadays. Due to this condition, Dental Nurse Department (JKG) Poltekkes Semarang had tried to implement improvized UKGS Program to a school independently. This study wanted to know the impact among students of SD Antonius and SD Petra which has implemented independent UKGS.This was quantitative descriptive research with cross sectional approach. The samples were 10% of total students of SD Antonius II and SD Petra – 38 students for each school – taken randomly from class I to VI. The data were analyzed by Mann Whitney and Independent T-test.The result showed that non clinically, there was no significant difference on students knowledge (p value 0.697 > 0.005) but not on Attitude and Action (pvalue 0.024 and 0.000 < 0.005). Clinically, the significant difference could be seen on OHI-S Index ( p value 0.046) but not on DMF-T and deft Index (p value 0.430 and 0.345). It’s suggested that this research had to be continued to find out the influence of Independent UKGS Program with students satitsfaction.

The second is the attitude of dental nurses (p = 0.037) with 7.104 points odds ratio, which means that dental nurses with good attitude have the possibility to sterilize 7 times better than those who show a less good attitude. Variables that do not affect the practice of sterilization is the level of education, availability of sterilization, age, gender, years of service, rules relating to sterilization.

Abstract

This study was aimed at knowing the availability of Klungsu (Tamarind seed) as remover and cleaner for dental calculus. The study followed Completely Randomized Design with three treatments and tested with Ftest and Duncan Multiple Range Test. The availability was studied by soaking the calculus and enamel at two concentrations (0 and 25%) of Klungsu and one group without soaking (dry group). The results showed that soaking in Klungsu solution significantly decreased (p<0.05) the strength of dental calculus, but no significantly differences (p>0.05) were found for enamel. The conclusion could be drawn from this study was klungsu could be used as an alternative cleaning material for removing dental calculus and safe for dental enamel.

Abstract

Transmission of infection can be occured  from the use of instruments that are not sterile, to break the chain of transmission of the infection, it is necessary to carry out the sterilization of medical devices with the correct procedures such as sterilization by dry heat or infrared can also with other methods. The purpose of this study to know the number of microorganisms and decrease the effectiveness of both the sterilization sterilize dental instruments. The reacherd was conducted in the laboratory using the method of experimental research, design research is one group pretest-posttest. The data have been acquired and processed statistically tested by Paired T-Test and Independent Test.Based on the results, the data is a decline in the number of bacteria in the infrared sterilization, but still found breeding of bacteria in sterilized tools. Decline in the number of bacteria in dry heat sterilization and no breeding of bacteria in all the tools are sterilized. The results of statistical tests Paired T-Test were both obtained p value = 0.000, so it can be said that the infrared sterilization and dry heat sterilization is effective in reducing the number of bacteria on equipment in dentistry. The statistical result obtained Independent T-Test p value: 0.626, which means there are no significant differences between the infrared sterilization and dry heat sterilization in killing microorganisms.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that the teachers have not carried out any independent action research to improve the learning quality and promotion. The purpose of this research is to analyze the actual model of classroom action research training for senior high school (SMA) teachers that have been carried out for years, to analyze the hypothetical model of an E-Module-based classroom action research training for high school teachers, and to analyze the final model of the E-Module-based classroom action research (CAR) training for SMA teachers. The method used in this study was research and development. The data were collected using interviews, documentation, observation, questionnaire, and test. The research results indicate that the final model of the E-Module-based classroom action research training is highly effective. The results of the extended trial show that the E-Module-based classroom action research training is able to properly facilitate teachers to implement and write a CAR research report independently and easily. E-Module-based CAR training assists teachers in understanding the CAR. This is understandable because E-Module-based CAR can be accessed anywhere and anytime through the Internet. The conclusion of this research is that E-Module-based CAR training makes it easy for teachers to conduct classroom action research because participants can access the E-Module via the browser.

Abstract

TITLEEffectiveness of breadfruit leaf extract water stew to colony growth of Streptococcus mutansABSTRACTBreadfruit leaf flavonoid compounds useful as antimicrobial function kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms. Breadfruit leaves also contain other compounds, namely saponins, polyphenols, tannins, hydrocyanic acid, acetylcholine, riboflavin, and phenols The aim of research was effectiveness results boiling breadfruit leaf extract on growth colony of bacteria Streptococcus mutans. This type of research used experimental method or experimental. In this research study is the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria colony before and after given the results boiling breadfruit leaf extract at a concentration of 10%, 20%, 40%, 60%. The design of the research is a pre-test-post-test with control group. In  this research used two repetitions. The results of the research show that breadfruit leaf extract effectively inhibits the growth of bacterial colonies of Streptococcus mutans. Results boiling breadfruit leaf extract at a concentration of 60% of the most effective at inhibiting the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria colony than the concentration of 10%, 20%, 40%.  Chemical compounds contained in the leaves of breadfruit namely polyphenols which have properties as an antimicrobial against bacteria and fungi. Not only that, the breadfruit leaf also contains flavonoids that have powerful antimicrobial properties. An antimicrobial agent serves to kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms.  Flavonoids are polyphenolic compounds that have chemical properties that are slightly acidic phenols that can be dissolved in alkaline. Flavonoids are also contains hydroxyl groups that are generally soluble in polar solvents such as ethanol, methanol, butanol, acetone, and water. Key words : Breadfruit Leaf Extract, Streptococcus  mutans
