Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jumlah mata tunas dan media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan jarak pagar serta ada tidaknya interaksi antara kedua factor tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala Darussalam Banda Aceh yang berlangsung sejak 8 Oktober sampai dengan 8 Desember 2007. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial. Ada 2 faktor yang diteliti, factor pertama adalah Jumlah mata tunas (J) dan factor kedua adalah Media tanam (M) yang masing-masing terdiri dari 3 taraf dengan 3 ulangan. Pengamatan yang diamati adalah jumlah tunas, panjang tunas, jumlah daun per tunas, jumlah daun per setek, jumlah akar dan panjang akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah mata tunas berpengaruh sangat nyata pada pertumbuhan setek tanaman jarak pagar. Jumlah mata tunas terbaik diperoleh pada 12 mata tunas (T2). Komposisi media tanam juga mempengaruhi pertumbuhan setek tanaman jarak pagar dan media tanam terbaik dijumpai pada komposisi media tanam pasir : tanah : pupuk kandang : sekam (M1) dan terdapat interaksi antara keduanya  sedangkan kombinasi terbaik terdapat pada jumlah mata tunas 14 dengan media tanam pasir : tanah : pupuk kandang : sekam  (M3T1)Effect of  Buds and Composition of Planting Media to the Growth of  Jatropha Plants Cutting (Jatropha curcas L.)ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the influence of the  buds and growing media on the growth of Jatropha and the presence or absence of interaction between these factors. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture experiment station Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh Darussalam which lasted from October 8 to December 8, 2007. This research use randomized block design (RAK) factorial pattern. There are 2 factors studied, the first factor is the number of buds (J) and the second factor is the planting media (M), each of which consists of 3 levels with 3 replications. Observations were observed and the number of shoots, shoot length, number of leaves per shoot, number of leaves per cutting, number of roots and root length. The results showed that the number of buds very real effect on the growth of Jatropha plants cuttings. Number of best buds obtained at 12 (T2). The composition of growth media also affect the growth of Jatropha plantscuttings and the best growing media found on the composition of the planting medium sand: soil: manure: chaff (M1) and there is interaction between the two while the best combination found in the number of buds growing media 14 with sand: soil : manure: chaff (M3T1)

Abstract

Ketersediaan P tanaman yang rendah akibat tingginya jerapan P merupakan kendala utama pada Ultisol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemberian campuran abu terbang batubara-kotoran ayam (ATB-KA) terhadap perubahan jerapan dan ketersediaan P pada Ultisol. Perlakuan yang diterapkan pada percobaan ini meliputi dosis ATB-KA dengan komposisi 1:1 (b/b), yaitu 0, 15, 30,45, dan 50 ton ha-1, dan dosis pupuk P yang terdiri dari 0, 87, 174, 261, dan 348 kg P2O5 ha-1. Percobaan dilakukan menurut Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial dengan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dosis ATB-KA, pupuk P, dan interaksi keduanya berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap nilai titik muatan nol (TMN), pH, dan muatan negatif tanah. Campuran ATB-KA dapat digunakan sebagai amelioran untuk meningkatkan pH tanah dan muatan negatif tanah. Pemberian campuran ATB-KA dosis 30 ton ha-1 dan pupuk P dosis 174 kg P2O5 ha-1 dapat meningkatkan muatan negatif tanah yang lebih baik dibanding kombinasi perlakuan yang lain. Jerapan P minimum (127,07 mg kg-1) dan P-tersedia maksimum (102,21 mg kg-1) diperoleh pada dosis ATB-KA sebesar 42,64 ton ha-1 dan pupuk P dosis 261 kg P2O5 ha-1.

Abstract

The waste of sawdust ash available in Ternate, North Maluku Province, has the potential to be used as material for making asphalt concrete mixtures. In this study, the waste of sawdust ash was used to make a mixture of type B Hot Rolled Sheet Asphalt Concrete (HRS). The results showed that sawdust ash has the potential to be used as the filler material in the mixture of type B HRS. It was shown also that the voids in mixture of the type B HRS in this study were very high, which could reduce the durability of the mixture. The use of sawdust ash has also the potential to produce cheaper mixtures.Key words: sawdust ash, hot rolled sheet, voids in the mix, durability.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Peranan gambut terhadap lahan degradasi menjadi sangat penting dan bernilai dalam hal cadangan karbon karena berdampak terhadap hilangnya vegetasi akibat penggundulan dan kebakaran hutan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada lahan gambut pada agrosistem kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir, Sumatera Selatan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menduga cadangan karbon gambut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedalaman gambut berkisar antara 200 – 850 cm, bulk density antara 0,211 – 0,347 g cm-3 dan kandungan organik C sekitar 56,30 - 58,31%. Prediksi cadangan karbon adalah sebesar 1,675.361 - 9.055,922 ton C ha-1. The Prediction of Peatland Carbon Stocks in Oil Palm AgroecosystemsABSTRACT. The role of peat on degraded land becomes extremely important and valuable, for being the last carbon stocks because of the loss of vegetation due to deforestation and forest fires. This research was conducted in peatlands that have been used for oil palm agro-ecosystem, Ogan Komering Ilir District,  South Sumatra. The purpose of the study was to estimate carbon stocks in peatlands. The results showed that the peat depth ranged from 200 to 850 cm, the bulk density between 0.211 to 0.347 g cm-3 and the organic C content of approximately 56.30 -58.31%. The prediction of carbon stock ranged from 1.675,361 ton C ha-1 to 9.055,922 ton C ha-1.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian campuran abu terbang-kotoran ayam (ATB-KA) terhadap perubahan titik muatan nol (TMN) tanah dan dampaknya terhadap jerapan dan ketersediaan P pada Ultisol. Dua perlakuan yang diuji adalah ATB-KA (w/w 1:1) pada dosis 0, 15, 30, 45 dan 60 ton ha-1, dan pemupukan P pada dosis 0, 87, 174, 261 dan 348 kg P2O5 ha-1.  Perlakuan ini ditata dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi CATK untuk setiap dosis pemupukan P berkorelasi secara nyata dengan status tanah TMN, pH, muatan negatif, jerapan dan ketersediaan P. TMN berkorelasi positif dengan pH dan muatan negatif. Muatan negatif secara nyata berkorelasi negatif dengan jerapan P, dan berkorelasi positif dengan P tersedia. Modification of PZS of Soil With Variable Charge by Application of Coal Fly Ash-Chicken Manure MixtureABSTRACT. The objective of current research was to study the effect of coal fly ash-chicken manure mixture (FA-CM) on the changes on the soil PZC status and its impact on P sorption and availability in Ultisols. Two treatments - FA-CM mixture (w/w of 1:1) at the rate of 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 ton ha-1, and P fertilization at the rate of 0, 87, 174, 261 and 348 kg P2O5 ha-1 were tested.  These treatments were arranged according to Factorial Completely Random Design with three replicates. The results showed that the application of FA-CM for each dosages of P fertilizer correlated significantly with the status of soils PZC, pH, negative charge, P sorption and P-available. PZC has possitive correlation with pH and negative charge. Negative charge has a significantly negative correlation with P sorption, and posssitively correlation with P-available.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Changes in Point of Zero Charge and Negative Charge of Coal Fly Ash due to Chicken Manures Addition Fly ash, coal combustion residue of thermal power plants, has been regarded as a problematic solid waste all over the world. Due to the environmental problems created by large-scale fly ash generation, efforts are being made to recycle these materials, such as to improve soil fertility as an ameliorant. In the present study, the possibility to improving the status of point of zero charge (PZC) and negative charge in fly ash (FA) and chicken manure (CM) mixtures was investigated. Fly ash was mixed with chicken manure composition of 0, 25, 75, and 100 % FA (w/w basis) and incubated for 15, 30, 45, and 60 days. Treatments arranged in factorial completely randomized design with 3 replicates. The results showed that the compositions of FA-CM and incubation period significantly affect the status of TMN, negative charge, P sorption and available-P. The mix of 50% FA with 45 days incubation tend to have a lower PZC and P sorption and higher negative charge and P-available. This composition could be use as an amelioran to improve the soils chemical properties in terms to decrease PZC and increase negatif charge, and it is necessary for further research.   Keywords: chicken manure, coal fly ash, point of zero charge, negative charge

Abstract

Carbon emissions is one of the activities of agroecosystem impacts of oil palm on peat land as a result of the making drainage and plant growth. This research was conducted in the area of oil palm agroecosystem on peat land landscape, Ogan Komering Ilir District, South Sumatra with the aim of estimating reserves and carbon emissions on the land. Contribution of carbon emissions on the land with plant age 5, 3 and 2 years without drainage channels are respectively 12.027; 11.262 and 9.783 tons CO2/year, as well as plants age of 5 years with the drainage channel is 14.723 tons of CO2/year. Contribution of carbon emissions from the making drainage channel reaches 2,696 tons of CO2/ha/year and greater than the contribution of carbon emissions from the aging plant palm oil annually, amounting to 0.383 to 1.479 tons of CO2/ha/year.

Abstract

In general, the study emphasizes the importance of reliability and validity, including quantitative research (focus on post-positivism view). Reliability of a study of which can be determined by the appropriate selection of ingredients / materials and treatment of substance / material chosen, where one of the important things is that there is regularity in the manufacture of test specimens for their designated purpose. Preparation of the test object to the given will result in research that is not biased either on empirical research, manuals, analytical and validation with the program, which of course is the methodological side. While on the theoretical side of course is expected to occur before the development of the theory. It could even happen that the new theory and methodology.

Abstract

The Research has done on assessment ability plants of kale land root’s (Ipomoea reptans Poir) in absorbing metallic of mercury (Hg) on polluted soil. Methods of assessment done by complete randomized design (CRD) to determine the influence of plant age and concentration of the planting medium to large concentrations absorbed of mercury in plant roots. Age of planting consists of 4 harvest time, it is 2, 3, 4, and 5 weeks. The concentration of the cultivation medium is 25 ppm, 50 ppm, 75 ppm dan 100 ppm. The results of analysis variance test for the effect of cultivation age indicate the real difference (F calculation > F 5 %), where the test results of BNT 0,05 obtained in the third week is the maximum age of planting. The influence of concentration on analysis variance test and LSD analysis indicate the real difference, where F calculation > F 1%.Keywords: Absorption, Metal Mercury, Land Plants kale, Age of planting, growing media concentration.
