Abstract

Plant inventory has been carried out in Tangale Nature Reserves in GorontaloProvince, North Sulawesi (2002). This area covers about 113 ha. About 250species have been listed from this area, and 72 species of them utilized by thelocal people who leave in its surrounding area as stuff food, fruit and vegetablesources, medicinal purpose, ornamental plant and for house building as well. From this activity, one new species of Oxalidaceae (Averrhoa leucopetala Rugayah & Sunarti) described, and two species of Euphorbiaceae (Mallotus griffithianus and M. macrostachys) informed as a new record for Sulawesi.

Abstract

Duku, kokosan dan langsat merupakan buah-buahan yang populer dan memiliki nilai ekonomi yang penting. Secara morfologi duku, kokosan dan langsat  hampir mirip satu sama lain sehingga menyulitkan dalam penentuan pada tingkat infraspesies bagi para pemulia tanaman. Berbagai pendekatan untuk penentuan morfologi ini telah banyak dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini menentukan status taksonomi duku, kokosan dan langsat pada ketegori infraspesies berdasarkan karakteritik makro dan mikromorfologi. Berbagai variasi duku, langsat dan kokosan dikoleksi dari beberapa pusat pertanaman di Indonesia, meliputi wilayah Sumatera, Jawa dan Kalimantan. Preparasi herbarium tumbuhan meliputi koleksi sampel, persiapan, penempelan dan identifikasi. Analisis morfologi menggunakan metode pengamatan dan deskripsi, pengukuran karakter morfologi dilakukan baik pada organ generatif dan vegetatif meliputi bunga, batang, biji dan buah, dan semua sampel didokumentasikan dengan menggunakan foto. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ditemukan 29 variasi dari duku, kokosan, dan langsat yang terdiri dari 19 duku, 2 kokosan dan 8 langsat dari semua wilayah. Hasil karakterisasi makro dan mikromorfologi menunjukkan duku, kokosan, dan langsat dari berbagai daerah di Indonesia dapat dinyatakan duku, kokosan, dan langsat merupakan marga Lansium, untuk kategori jenis adalah L. domesticum Correa dan pada kategori infraspesies dapat dibagi menjadi dua group yaitu group duku dan group kokosan-langsat.

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) determined the effect of BA concentration on the growth of banana seedlings origin hump cleavage. (2) determined the effect of different origin banana weevil seedling growth and tuber production of tillers. (3) determined the effect of BA concentration on the growth of seedlings and saplings of origin hump hump production. This research has been carried out in January 2013 to April 2013 in the Integrated Field Laboratory, University of Lampung, Bandar Lampung. The design of the experiment using a randomized block design with 3 replications were once created as a test group. Grouping is done based on the size of the hump and time of observation. Arranged in a factorial design of treatment (4 x 2) consisting of two factors; The first factor is the concentration of benzyladenine (BA) consists of 4 levels of concentration are: 0, 50, 100, and 150 ppm. The second factor is the hump that comes from plants that have been producing, and tubers of plants are still puppies. The results showed: (1). Use of BA with a concentration of 50, 100 and 150 ppm had no significant effect on all the variables of observation. (2). Type tuber production yield better growth than puppies hump seen from the variable leaf length, root length, leaf width, number of roots, and the girth so it better be made for seedlings compared with seedling tubers. (3) Pemberian BA with various concentrations of either the production or hump hump tillers showed no difference in the growth of shoots. Abstract

The research was conducted at the cutting red betel (Piper crocatum Ruiz and Pav.) to determined the effect of (1) the difference growth of cuttings of red betel which are given IBA and without IBA, (2) the concentration of NAA on growth of cutting red betel, (3) the concentration of NAA on growth of cutting red betel on each given IBA. The treatment was arranged in factorial (2 x 4) in randomized block design with three replication. The first factor were without IBA (a0) and the given of 1.000 ppm IBA (a1). The second factor were the concentration of NAA consists of: 0 ppm (b0), 1.000 ppm (b1), 2.000 ppm (b2), and 4.000 ppm (b3). The results showed that the NAA concentration of 4000 ppm produced the most number of roots on either at the node or at the base of cutting. Planting cutting red betel which given IBA 1.000 ppm was able to accelerated the time leaves open and increased the number of cutting which germinate. The mixtured of giving IBA 1.000 ppm and the concentration of NAA 4.000 ppm, produced the most number of cutting that germinated. Keywords : red betel, given IBA, dan concentration NAA

Abstract

Perbedaan pendapat tentang status kedudukan taksonomi Trichosanthes anguina sebagai jenis yang berbeda dengan T. cucumerina,maupun sebagai anak jenis T. cucumerina subsp. anguina atau varietas T. cucumerina var. anguina memerlukan data pendukung.Anatomi daun dengan sayatan paradermal menunjukkan bahwa keduanya mempunyai bentuk stomata dan sel epidermis yang sama,tetapi berbeda hanya pada ukurannya. Stomata Trichosanthes anguina berukuran 15-17.5 x 10-12.5 urn dan sel epidermis 22.5-31.25 x 12.5-20 m, sedangkan Trichosanthes cucumerina mempunyai stomata 10-12.5 x 8.75-12.5 um dan epidermis sel 15-25 x 10-15 um. Data tersebut mendukung dalam menetapkan T.anguina sebagai T. cucumerina var.anguina.

Abstract

In the revision of the cucurbitaceous genus Trichosanthes in Malesia by Rugayah & W.J.J.O. de Wilde (Reinwardtia 11(4): 262. 1999), the type of the proposed new species T. kinabaluensis Rugayah was erroneously indicated as consisting of two collections, viz. Chew, Corner & Stainton 2830 and De Wilde & Duyfjes SAN 139472. This latter appeared to be contrary to art. 37.3 of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (Tokyo Code, 1994), rendering the new species invalid. This species is validated below by indicating a single type. I am grateful to Dr. Dan H. Nicolson (US Washington), who kindly made me aware of the mistake.

Abstract

Trichosanthes (Cucurbitaceae) in Malesia comprises 5 sections with 39 species, here alphabetically arranged. Key to the sections, keys the species within the sections and eight regional keys are presented Twenty-five taxa are newly proposed: 1 section, 14 species, 1 sub species, 2 varieties and 7 forms.

Abstract

RUGAYAH & SUNARTI, S. 2008. Two new wild species of Averrhoa (Oxalidaceae) from Indonesia. Reinwardtia 12(4): 325 – 331. — Based on living collections cultivated in Bogor Botanical Gardens and several herbarium specimens kept in Herbarium Bogoriense, Averrhoa dolichocarpa Rugayah & Sunarti (from New Guinea) and A. leucopetala Rugayah & Sunarti (from North Sulawesi) are described as new species. They are compared with A. carambola L. and A. bilimbi L. the only other known species so far.

Abstract

ASTUTI, I. P. & RUGAYAH. 2016. A new species of Murraya from Cyclops Mountain, Papua, Indonesia. Reinwardtia 15(2): 111 –114. — A living collection of Bogor Botanic Gardens, planted in plot XXIV.A.192-192a and originated from Kemiri Said Nature Reserve, Cyclops Mountain in Papua collected by Lugrayasa (LG 1352), is described and illustrated as a new species, namely Murraya cyclopensis Astuti & Rugayah. The species is closely related to Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack, in vegetative and flower structures, but differ in the presence of indumentum on twig, rachis and petiole, smaller size of flowers, red globose fruits, and orbicular seeds covered by densely short hairs and red aril.
