Abstract

In a product design and development process, a designer faces a problem to decide functional requirement (FR) target values. That decision is made under a risk since it is conducted in the early design phase using incomplete information. Utility function can be used to reflect the decision maker attitude towards the risk in making such decision. In this research, we develop a utility-based model to determine FR target values using quadratic utility function and information from Quality Function Deployment (QFD). A pencil design is used as a numerical example using quadratic utility function for each FR. The model can be applied for balancing customer and designer interest in determining FR target values.

Abstract

Designing of pattern at iron ductile product later on machinery process, it can be comprehend that correctness of workpiece dimension made at coran with acute angle which difficult to make. Other consideration is media weared in moulding. Workpiece dimension that made have to can eliminate the occuring of air bubble, holes tail and can improve the nature of mechanical. Mould pattern require to be performed by treatment to prevent the occuring of inappropiate among small radius and wide radius that to be made sufficiently to guarantee influence of addition. Machinery process represent final solution process before painting is conducted. Scheduling of machinery become compulsion for work which do not permit the existence of interupting

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the probability of customer to switch from one brand of motorcycle to another. In this research, Markov Chains is used to analyze the switching probability. This research begins with identification of the initial marketing variables. In order to analyze brand loyalty with Markov Chains, three types of motorcycle from economic under-bone class (110-115cc) have been selected namely Absolute Revo, Vega ZR, Smash Titan and other types outside the class are used as comparison. Mann Whitney U Test is used to examine whether there are differences on marketing variables between men and women when selecting their motorcycle. The result of this research shows that the most loyal customer is in the type of motorcycle outside the economic underbone class. The most affecting variables that determine the existing motorcycle preferences is the availability of spareparts and the number of authorized service center for Absolute Revo, comfortable while driving for Vega ZR, and reliability motorcycle engine for Smash Titan and other types. The most variables that determine switching to another type of motorcycle is the product innovation. The results of Mann Whitney U test show that there are significant differences in marketing variables between male and female in existing motorcycle preferences which are motorcycle design and engine specifications.

Abstract

Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Solo selain memberikan pelayanan air bersih juga memberikan pelayanan pengelolaan air limbah rumah tangga, instansi, dan komersial. Pelayanan pengelolaan air limbah tersebut dilakukan oleh PDAM menggunakan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL). Lumpur buangan hasil pengolahan limbah tersebut belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pemanfaaatan limbah lumpur IPAL PDAM sebagai campuran pembuatan lapisan atas paving block. Metode Taguchi digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menentukan setting faktor optimal yang mempengaruhi karakteristik kualitas paving block. Berdasarkan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) No. 03-0691-1996, terdapat tiga karakteristik kualtas paving block yaitu kuat tekan, daya serap air, dan laju keausan. Selain itu, digunakan response surface methodology (RSM) untuk membantu menentukan hubungan antara karakteristik kualitas dengan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan setting level optimal diperoleh pada faktor ukuran maksimum agregat 10 mm, faktor air semen 0,3 dan 0,35 serta jumlah persentase lumpur yang digunakan sebesar 10%. Pemanfaatan lumpur IPAL PDAM Semanggi Solo dapat menghasilkan paving block dengan kualitas C Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) No. 03-0691-1996 untuk kuat tekan dan mutu A untuk segi serapan air dan laju keausan.

Abstract

There are three aspects of competitive strategy that can be applied by manufacturing companies: quality, cost, anddelivery time. Actually, it is hard to produce high quality poducts in low manufacturing cost and on time delivery. Hence, a process selection is needed to integrated the three aspects above in order to meet a customer requirement. This research develops a process selection model to minimize manufacturing cost, quality loss cost, and lateness cost considering component spesification, delivery time, production capacity, and customer order. A numerical example is given to show the application of the model using an assembly product that consists of three components. Three machines are used to produce all of the components. Each machine has different characteristic in manufacturing cost, tolerances, and processing time. Total cost that used to produce 100 unit assembly product is Rp5.390.970,00.

Abstract

This research uses genetic algorithm for no-wait flowshop scheduling problem. The shop requires the condition that each job be processed without any interruptions on all m machines and between two consecutive machine. This means that the start of processing a job on a given machine may be delayed in order to make the completion of the job on the machine coincide with this beginning of processing the job on the subsequent machine. The objective for the model is to minimize total actual flow time accommodating the condition that job to be processed arrive at the shop at any times when needed and the condition that the completed job be delivered at a common due-date. Genetic algorithm is randomly and structured search to find optimal solution. Numerical experience shows that for a given scheduling problem, genetic algorithm solution better than before (Yuniaristanto, 2001)

Abstract

Most of the workers work without pay attention to their body posture. This is caused by lack ofknowledge and awareness about the importance of education. As result, health problem occurs among the workers that might causes injuries. Reba is one of the method that has been used to score/inspect body posture related to health problems among the workers. There are some steps to calculate Reba Score such as shooting stage, stage of determining the angles of worker posture, weight determination, and data processing Reba .Processing stage takes a long time because the user should see a table reference in calculating REBA score. Therefore we need a tool to calculate the Reba score. Designing tools to facilitate calculation REBA scores made on Android-based HP. As a result, when calculating scores Reba with the tools to save time 62% of the manual count

Abstract

Oyster mushroom is one of the most popular mushroom consumption cultivated in Indonesia. The cultivation process of oyster mushrooms is relatively easy , and also marketable because it has the nutrients and good nutrition. Oyster mushrooms is perishable foodstuffs. A few days after harvesting, oyster mushrooms will be amended, color changes to brown, becoming soft texture, and appeared unpleasant aroma. To overcome this, it is necessary to oyster mushroom processing innovation into alternative food products that have high sales value and longer shelf life. One alternative diversification of processed fresh oyster mushrooms is powdery mildew . To cultivate oyster mushrooms into powdery mildew, in this study focus to design a dryer oyster mushrooms with solar energy ( Solar dryer) and applying the grinder. Drier and grinder oyster mushrooms  was tested in groups of oyster mushroom farmers in the Tambak village Boyolali . Solar drier, can drying fresh oyster mushrooms with a capacity of 10 kg within a period of 50-72 hours. Oyster mushrooms grinder can be used with a capacity of 120 grams with a flouring 180 seconds

Abstract

This research is aimed to to identified customers’ needs in LBPP LIA Surakarta. Based on theseidentified customers’ need then the pre-concept of quality improvements in LBPP LIA Surakarta is made. Model that is used to identified customers’ needs is SERVQUAL while the methodology that is used to form the deployment is Quality Function Deployment (QFD), beside the use of factor analysis to identify factors which are influenced the quality service in LBPP LIA Surakarta.
