Abstract

Surface finish of machining product has many varieties is really depend on several factors which are involve during the process. Surface finish will affect the market ability of product of aiming the product should fulfil the minimum surface finish Requirement. This research intends to observe the surface finish of product proceeded by milling process. So the optimal process condition could be achieved in term to making the simplest way in planning. The result shows the relationship between spindle rotation cutting speeds for producing and the good surface finish of which is being machined by milling process Furthermore this result could provide accurate data for determination and setting of machining process.

Abstract

Temporary heat storage from heat air solar collector source has been studied in this experiment. Paraffin, as phase change material (PCM) is used as a working object in storage system. The heat air transfer is enhanced from the heat exchanger, a numbers of fin aluminum plates, which caused increasing of heat transfer. These varieties mass flow rates and some exchangers solar energy such as heater electric and solar energy, were examined by using power supply fan DC (3V, 6V, 7,5V, 9V), and heater (350W, 700W, 900W, 1600W). Storage system and channel are isolated by glass wool, so heat transfer to surroundings could be minimizes. Storage capacity PCM is by melting time is 4 hours and 28,2 minutes in temperature melting. Experimental data acquisition research shows that it’s have the same average temperature distribution. The PCM can be function about 5oC on source heater energy and about 1oC from experimental solar collector.  The average efficiency from solar collector storage system is about 16,39% and Coefisien of Performance is 1,13. So based on ths experiment,  storage PCM solar colector system can be used as heat storage by increased source heat air and restore on it, and can be used again  after heat air source decreased.

Abstract

The Gambier drying system of solar dryer has been studied. Solar Energy represent the source of energy, which is available in nature, unpollutive, free of charge and also continue all day long. The research Gambier drying was main problems. The Gambier drying has been conducted after cropping boiling and extortion of rubber of Gambier. The equipment absorber of zinc materials has solar radiation collector. It was used to removing heat into air emitting a stream of in it. This high temperature air has been flow through dryer room. Scheme of this appliance exploited situation of environment that is a designed house as solar dryer system. Result of research obtained air temperature in dryer room (T= 60oC,Tmean= 56,56oC) with cloudy weather condition. Drying area could been lessen by drying vertically. Distribution temperatures in dryer room earn uniform and could dry Gambier simultaneously. Temperature mean in every rack enough flatten except lowermost rack such as T1mean= 40,64oC, T2mean = 39,79oC, T3mean = 39,21oC, T4mean = 36,61oC, at cloudy weather condition

Abstract

Model Solar Chimney dengan ukuran 3x3 m2 luas atap rumah sebagai kolektor pelat datar telah dipelajari dalam penelitian ini. Udara panas keluaran sistem ini digunakan untuk pengeringan bahan hasil pertanian dengan sistem tray truck dryer telah dipelajari sebelumnya. Kedua sistem ini digabung untuk dijadikan terintegrasi pada daerah jalur khatulistiwa dimana membutuhkan pengeringan bahan hasil pertaniannya (contoh kulit manis, ikan, dll). Temperatur pengeringan bahan ini berkisar 41oC sampai dengan 80oC. Kondisi bahan ini dapat digunakan pada sistem pengeringan ini. Bahan yang dikeringkan berada pada temperatur pengeringannya akan menghasilkan jenis yang paling bagus dan maksimal, serta lebih bersih berada pada sistem tersebut.  Sistem ini menjadi alternatif pengeringan bahan pada daerah yang membutuhkan dijalur khatulistiwa yang masih belum memperoleh aliran listrik. Pemanfaatan energi surya secara langsung akan lebih optimal dalam kebutuhan sehari-hari masyarakat pada teknologi ini, sehingga ketergantungan dengan energi lain (minyak bumi, kayu, dll) berkurang dengan memanfaatkan sumber utama energi yaitu energi surya. Atap rumah sebagai kolektor pelat datar dan rumah pengering pada sistem solar chimney menjadi alaternatif energi untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari.

Abstract

The versatile tool from thermoelectric power supply has been made and has satisfied performance. The selection of material and tool is chosen based on the product availability in the market and the cooling device is selected based on the number of cooling load. Thermoelectric cooler is one of the electrical components that transfer a heat to another side by electric discharge. Cold temperature generated in the cold side is used to cooling the working fluid and the heat temperature is used to heating the water. The water is used as cooling fluid and used as much as 3L to cooling the room temperature where it is integrated by fan to either accelerate the heat absorption process or dispose the heat. Small heat exchanger is used to expand the heat absorption area in a cooling room. The results show that cooling element is capable to work constantly on the cooling power for one element by 37 W. Meanwhile in the tool characteristics, it is capable to produce low temperature of 13°C that begins in 40th minute. In addition, warm water temperature with volume of 30L is capable to produce 45°C. The maximum efficiency from cooling device is occurred when the different temperature in both side is nearly minimum. Coefficient of performance (COP) of cooling system is obtained at 0,58.
