Abstract

The research aims at reviewing the symbolic violence in mass media. The aspect of symbolic violence to be reviewed includes (a) the forms, (b) strategies, and (c) effects of symbolic violence to the reader. The research uses critical discourse analysis  design  developed  by Fairclough.  The  result  of data  analyses  found  the realization of symbolic violence in the news text, in form of (a) blurred meaning, (b) bias logics, and (c) bias value. The blurred meaning, bias logics, and bias value as form of bias information in news text. The strategies of symbolic violence found in this research are (a) the softening of information, (b) information reasoning (logic), and (c) creating positive information. The effects of symbolic violence to the readers is seen in receptions of the information from the mass media includes (a) reception based on prejudice attitude and view and (b) reception based on neutral attitude. Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain the 4 years 6 months—6 years children’s acquisition of Indonesian phonem,that are phonem characteristic and distribution of phonems. This study used qualitative research method to approach language acquisition and used cross sectional models. The result of this study are (1) children pronounce vowel [a, i, I, ǝ, e, ɛ, o, O, u, U] and stop consonant [p,b,t,d,k,g,ʔ], nasal [m,n,η,ň] , fricative [s, h], africative [c,j], liquid [l, r], dan glide [w,y] well, (2) children can not pronounce fricative [f], [v], [z], [š], dan [x] well, and (3) children can pronounce vowel and consonant in many distribution as well as adult.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pemerolehan fonem bahasa Indonesia anak usia 4 tahun 6 bulan—6 tahun, yaitu karakteristik fonem dan distribusi fonem pada anak. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus model cross sectional.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) anak menguasai vokoid [a, i, I, ǝ, e, ɛ, o, O, u, U] dan kontoid hambat [p,b,t,d,k,g,ʔ], nasal [m,n,η,ň] , frikatif [s, h], afrikatif [c,j], lateral [l], tril [r], dan semivokoid [w,y]  (2) anak belum menguasai kontoid frikatif [f], [v], [z], [š], dan [x], dan (3) anak telah menguasai distribusi fonem bahasa Indonesia seperti pada tuturan standar bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to develop media for learning of fable story wiritng for junior high school students that contain materials, examples, and exercises to achieve the indicators and learning objectives and to describe the feasibility of media for learning gained from expert judgement and field testing. Media for learning developed using macromedia flash program. The development model used was adapted from Borg and Gall development model. Aspect of the assessment in the media for learning is in terms of (1) content, (2) language, and (3) the display. From the results of the expert judgement and field testing, the overall product of learning media has been feasible to be implemented after going through revision stages.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran menulis teks fabel bagi siswa SMP yang berisi materi, contoh, dan latihan untuk mencapai indikator dan tujuan pembelajaran serta mendeskripsikan kelayakan media pembelajaran menulis teks fabel bagi siswa SMP yang diperoleh dari uji ahli dan uji lapangan. Media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan menggunakan program macromedia flash. Model pengembangan yang digunakan diadaptasi dari model pengembangan Borg dan Gall. Aspek yang menjadi penilaian dalam pengembangan produk media pembelajaran adalah dari segi (1) isi materi, (2) bahasa, dan (3) tampilan. Dari hasil validasi dan uji lapangan, secara keseluruhan produk media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah layak untuk diimplementasikan setelah melalui tahap revisi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) obtain learning data for writing  Indonesian child stories based on character education, (2) develop a learning model for writing child stories based on character education, and (3) disseminate learning models for writing Indonesian child stories based on character education to support the creative industries in grade 5 of Elementary School with lesson study. These goals are achieved through the development of research methods (Borg & Gall) lesson study. To achieve these objectives, the first phase or the first year I will do theoretical studies and surveys about the learning data writing childrens stories Indonesia-based character education. Stage III or the third year will be conducted in the form of dissemination of learning model writing childrens stories Indonesia-based character education to support the creative industries in grade 5 of Elementary School with lesson study.

Abstract

The aims of the research and development consist of (1) developing teaching material based on multimedia integration for exposition text and manual book for teachers meeting up standard of feasibility in all of aspects content, sequencing, graphic, and language (2) describing the effectiveness of its teaching material. Production of multimedia packages (Ghislandi, 1996:222) was adopted in reaching these aims. The result of validation test states that both of products are up standard of feasibility for all of aspect, content, sequencing, graphic, and language. Furthermore, statistic test shows there are significant excalation in mastering exposition text before and after implementation of product.Tujuan penelitian pengembangan ini, yaitu (1) menghasilkan produk berupa bahan ajar multimedia untuk teks eksposisi dan buku petunjuk penggunaan dalam pembelajaran yang memenuhi kelayakan dari aspek isi, penyajian, desain grafika, dan bahasa dan (2) mendeskripsikan keefektifan produk. Dalam upaya mencapai tujuan itu, digunakan model produksi paket multimedia (Ghislandi, 1996:222). Hasil penelitian pengembangan berupa berupa bahan ajar multimedia untuk teks eksposisi dan buku petunjuk penggunaan yang memenuhi kelayakan dari aspek isi, penyajian, grafika, dan bahasa untuk diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran. Hasil uji statistik juga menunjukkan bahwa implementasi produk meningkatkan penguasaan teks eksposisi secara signifikan.

Abstract

Keyword cognitive strategies are the ability to remember and use a word that can represent concepts, ideas, reading content, and post content. Writing is one of different skills with other language skills. Writing has a distinctive character that sets it apart from other skills. The active, productive, and stringing of words in written form, provides a distinctive feature of the language, medium, and variety of languages it uses. Keyword cognitive strategies used by students in writing text description appear in the process of writing and the results of his work. Description text as one of the pouring container ideas in the form of process of writing and writing works of students who use keyword cognitive strategy in writing description text.Strategi kognitif kata kunci merupakan kemampuan mengingat dan menggunakan sebuah kata yang dapat mewakili konsep, gagasan, isi bacaan, dan isi tulisan. Menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang berbeda dengan keterampilan berbahasa yang lain. Menulis memiliki karakter khas yang membedakannya dari keterampilan lain. Sifat aktif, produktif, dan merangkai kata dalam bentuk tulisan, memberikan ciri khusus dalam hal kecaraan, medium, dan ragam bahasa yang digunakannya. Strategi kognitif kata kunci yang digunakan siswa dalam penulisan teks deskripsi tampak pada proses menulis dan hasil karyanya. Teks deskripsi sebagai salah satu wadah penuangan gagasan dalam bentuk proses menulis dan tulisan karya siswa yang menggunakan strategi kognitif kata kunci dalam menulis teks deskripsi.

Abstract

This research aims to media games imajination learning to write poems free to grade X SMA. A model used in this research is model Borg & Gall research. A product produced form games imajination accompanied by teaching guidebook and LKPI. According on the tests conducted to media experts learning literature, expert learning literature, practitioner, and used media product is feasible and can be implemented.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media permainan imajinasi dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi untuk siswa kelas X SMA. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model penelitian Borg & Gall. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa media permainan imajinasi yang dilengkapi oleh buku panduan mengajar dan LKPI. Berdasarkan hasil uji yang dilakukan kepada ahli media pembelajaran sastra, ahli pembelajaran sastra, praktisi, dan pengguna produk menyatakan bahwa produk media layak dan dapat diimplementasikan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the increasing of writing skills and learning quality with pemodelan strategy class 9th Senior High School Bina Karya Atambua. This research has been conducted in two cycle. In cycle I, the students have reached the KKM contains 6 student (40,00%). In other side, the students have not reachedthe KKM contains 9 student (60,00%). In cycle II, the students have reached the KKM contains 12 student, while the students haven’t reached the KKM 3 students. In cycle 1, the increasing of learning quality has not been reaching the target. In cycle II, the increasing of learning has been reaching the target. The results show that pemodelan strategy has effect to increasing student writing skills and the learning quality.Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan menulis cerpen dan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran dengan strategi pemodelan untuk siswa kelas XC SMA Bina Karya Atambua. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Siklus I siswa yang berhasil mencapai KKM ada 6 siswa (40.00%). Siswa yang belum berhasil mencapai KKM 9 siswa (60.00%). Siklus II siswa yang berhasil mencapai KKM ada 12 siswa (81.6%). Siswa yang belum berhasil mencapai KKM 3 siswa (13.6%). Siklus I peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran belum berhasil mencapai target yang ditentukan. Siklus II peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran berhasil mencapai target yang ditentukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan menulis dan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran pada siklus I dan II mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

Reading-writing can be used as a tool to deepen and master the subject matter to achieve the competencies set. The learning experience answers the challenges of learning in the 21st century because it conditions students to develop their thinking skills. Reading-writing should be synergized for all subjects to support learning across the curriculum. The results of this study are presented in four major themes, namely (1) conceptual relationship of reading-writing and learning method, (2) principles of reading-writing utilization as learning method, (3) procedure of reading-writing utilization as learning method, (4) educational advantage of reading-writing utilization as a learning method.Membaca-menulis dapat dijadikan alat untuk mendalami dan menguasai materi pelajaran menuju tercapai kompetensi yang ditetapkan. Pengalaman belajar tersebut menjawab tantangan pembelajaran abad ke-21 karena mengondisikan siswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikirnya. Membaca-menulis harus disinergikan untuk semua mata pelajaran untuk mendukung pembelajaran lintas kurikulum. Hasil penelitian ini disajikan dalam empat tema besar, yakni (1) hubungan konseptual membaca-menulis dan metode belajar, (2) prinsip-prinsip pemanfaatan membaca-menulis sebagai metode belajar, (3) prosedur pemanfaatan membaca-menulis sebagai metode belajar, dan (4) keuntungan edukatif pemanfaatan membaca-menulis sebagai metode belajar.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the level of syntax errors that include aspects of phrases and sentences on writing personal experience grade X SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Stella Gratia Atambua. This research uses qualitative research designs with the kind of descriptive research. The results of this study indicate that many students make a mistake on a sentence structure that covers ten aspects. These findings prove that students pay attention to the use of grammar in writing, lack of vocabulary which belonged to the students, the influence of the use of local languages, and teachers less use of grammar in writing.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kesalahan tataran sintaksis yang meliputi aspek frase dan kalimat pada penulisan pengalaman pribadi siswa kelas X SMA Stella Gratia Atambua. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa banyak melakukan kesalahan pada struktur kalimat yang meliputi sepuluh aspek. Temuan tersebut membuktikan bahwa siswa kurang memerhatikan penggunaan tata bahasa dalam menulis, minimnya kosakata yang dimiliki siswa, pengaruh penggunaan bahasa daerah, dan guru kurang memerhatikan penggunaan tata bahasa dalam menulis.
