#### Abstract

Absrtact: The aims of this research were: (1) to describe the Problem Based Learning process with using of Â the valid and practical scientific approach to the main subject of Â triangle for the VII degree of junior high school, (2) to describe the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning tools by using scientific approach which had been developed. This research run in two phases. The first phase was the process of the development of learning tools used 4-D model. This model consisted of four phases namely, (1) defined phase, (2) designed phase, (3) developedÂ  phase, and (4) disseminated phase. The second phase was the test of the effectiveness of the learning tools that has been developed using experiment method. The population was the students of the VII degree of Tasikmadu junior high school. The sampling was conducted randomly, the one was as the experiment class and the other was as control class. The results of this research were as follows. (1) The development of the learning tools conducted was valid and practical because the equipment that was developed based on the strong rational theory, it had internal consistency, and the learning equipment implicated in the learning process, (2) This learning used Problem Based Learning process with the scientific approach was better than the direct learning.Â Keywords: Development of learning, problem based learning, scientific approach

#### Abstract

Abstract:The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) which of the cooperative learning model of NHT type with open-ended approach, the cooperative learning models of NHTtype, and the model of conventional results in a better learning achievement in mathematics of the students; (2) which of the types of climbers, the campers, and the quittersresults in a better learning achievement in mathematics; (3) for each category of AQ of the students, which one results in better achievement in mathematics, cooperative learning model of NHT type with open-ended approach, the cooperative learning model of NHTtype, and the model of conventional; and (4) for each learning model, which one results in better achievement in mathematics, students who have climbers type, campers, or quitters.The type of this research was a quasi-experimental with research design which used factorial 3 x 3.The population of this research was the first grade (Class Ten) of Senior High Schools in Mataram. The sample of this research was 9 classes consisted of 3 experimental classes I, 3 experimental classes II, and 3 control classes. This research used stratified cluster random sampling technique.The results of the research are as follows: (1) the cooperative learning models of NHT type with open-ended approach results in a better studentsâ mathematics learning achievement than cooperative learning model of NHTand the model of conventional, and the cooperative learning model of NHTtype results in a better studentsâ mathematics learning achievement than the model of conventional; (2) studentsâ mathematics learning achievementwith the climbers type of learning gives the same mathematics achievement as the campers type, studentsâ mathematics learning achievement with the campers type of learning gives the same mathematics achievement as the quitters type, and studentsâ mathematics learning achievement with the climbers type of learning results in a better achievement than the learning achievement of the students with the quitters type; (3) for each category of AQ of the students (climbers, campers, and quitters), cooperative learning model of NHT type with open-ended approach results in a better studentsâ mathematics learning achievement than cooperative learning model of NHTand the model of conventional, and the cooperative learning model of NHTtype results in a better studentsâ mathematics learning achievement than conventional type; (4) for each learning model (NHT type with open-ended approach, NHT type, and conventional), studentsâ mathematics learning achievement with the climbers type of learning gives the same mathematics achievement as the campers type, and studentsâ mathematics learning achievement with the campers type of learning gives the same mathematics achievement as the quitters type, and studentsâ mathematics learning achievement with the climbers type of learning results in a better achievement than studentsâ mathematics learning achievement with the quitters type.Keywords: Learning model,NHT, open-ended approach, conventional, mathematicâs learning achievement.

#### Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of the research were to find out: (1) which one providing better mathematics learning achievement the cooperative learning model of the jigsaw type, TGT or direct learning model, (2) in the student mathematical reasoning abilities, which one having better mathematics learning achievement, the students with the high, moderate or low mathematical reasoning abilities, (3) in each learning models (jigsaw, TGT or direct learning model) which one providing better mathematics learning achievement, the students with the high, moderate or low mathematical reasoning abilities, (4) in each student mathematical reasoning abilities (high, moderate, or low) which one providing better mathematics learning achievement, the cooperative learning model of the jigsaw type, TGT, and the direct learning model. This research used the quasi experimental research. Its population was all of the students in Grade VIII of State Junior Secondary Schools in Metro City. The samples of the research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique and consisted of 243 students. The instruments to collect the data were test of Mathematics learning achievement and test of achievement in mathematical reasoning abilities. Technique of analyzing data that used was unbalanced two way analysis of variance. The results of the research were as follows. 1) The cooperative learning model of the jigsaw type results better Mathematics learning achievement than the cooperative learning model of the TGT type and the direct learning model, the cooperative learning model of the TGT type results better learning achievement in Mathematics than the direct learning model. 2) The students with the high mathematical reasoning abilities have better learning achievement in Mathematics than those with the moderate mathematical reasoning abilities and those with the low mathematical reasoning abilities, the students with the moderate mathematical reasoning abilities have better learning achievement in Mathematics than those with the low mathematical reasoning abilities. 3) In the cooperative learning model of the jigsaw type and TGT, the students with the high mathematical reasoning abilities have same achievement in Mathematics as those with the moderate mathematical reasoning abilities and those with the low mathematical reasoning abilities. In the direct learning model, the students with the high mathematical reasoning abilities haveÂ  better learning achievement in Mathematics than those with the low mathematical reasoning abilities. 4) In each of the mathematical reasoning abilities of students which are high and moderate, the cooperative learning model of the jigsaw type results same learning achievement in Mathematics as the cooperative learning model of the TGT type and the direct learning model. In addition, in the low mathematical reasoning abilities, the cooperative learning model of the jigsaw type results better learning achievement in Mathematics than the direct learning model.Keywords: Jigsaw, TGT, Direct Learning, and Mathematical Reasoning Abilities

#### Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this research are to describe the thinking process of junior high school students with type of climber, camper, and quitter in solving mathematics problems based on Polyaâs rule. This was a qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this research were taken by using a combined technique of stratified sampling and purposive sampling. The subjects of this research were three 9th grade student of SMP Negeri 1 Jaten Karanganyar regency, which consists of astudent with climberâs type, a student with camperâs type, and a student with quitterâs type. The data collection in this research was conducted through questionnaires and task-based interview technique whichwereused in the subject matter of two variable linear equation system.Thedata validationtechnique used triangulationof time andreferences. The data was analyzed by usingMiles and Hubermanâs concept, that was dataâs reduction, dataâs presentation, and conclusion. The result of this research showed that (1) climberâs student used assimilation thinking process in understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back the answer, (2) camperâs student used assimilation thinking process in understanding the problem, carrying out the plan, and looking back the answer, student used assimilation and accomodation thinking process in devising a plan, and (3) quitterâs student used imperfection assimilation and accomodation thinking process in understanding the problem, student didnât use assimilation and accomodation thinking process in devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back the answer.Keywords: thinking process, problem solving, Polyaâs rule, Adversity Quotient (AQ)

#### Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to describe the integration process and attitude assessment done by the teacher in mathematics learning process at seventh grade of SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi Solo. This qualitative research was a case study. The subjects of this research were a teacher and three seventh grade students of SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi Solo. The data of integration process was in the form of activity within mathematics learning process supported by the subjectsâ statement. Data analyzing process began by assessing all data available in the recorder, which includes the learning process and interview. There were three steps in analyzing the data: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. Information of attitude assessment was in the form of information gathering activity conducted by the teacher to the students. The data were obtained from the transcription of recorded interview and learning process. Validation techniques used were perseverance maintenance and time triangulation. The results of this research are as follows: 1) Integration process of attitude in mathematics learning at seventh grade of SMP Al Azhar Budi Syifa Solo based on Curriculum 2013. During observation learning process, the teacher asks the students to observe objects and events in daily life related to mathematics learning topic. During question and answer learning process, the teacher gives questions to the students and provides them chance to ask questions. During information gathering process, the students were asked to discuss a certain concept, to read a book and to discuss it, to examine, to explain, and to solve a problem. During associating learning process, the teacher asks the students to analyze, to associate, and to define in details the learning topic. Lastly, during communicating learning process, the teacher helps the students to summarize the material comprehensively. 2) Process of attitude assessment during mathematics learning at seventh grade of SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi Solo are: the process of curiosity assessment was conducted by the teacher when the students solved the problems related to the materials; the process of responsibility assessment was conducted by the teacher when the students solved the problems and when the students present the result of their discussion in front of the class. The assessment of curiosity and responsibility were conducted by giving checklist mark on the attitude observation sheet.Key Words: integration process of attitude, attitude assessment process, curiosity,responsibility, curriculum 2013

#### Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research was to describe male and female students creativity of class VIII SMPN 1 Arjosari District of Pacitan that has a Field Dependent and Field Independent cognitive style in solving space geometric problem. This was a qualitative research. These subjects were taken using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The subjects of this research were the students in the eight grade of SMPN 1 Arjosari. Data collection techniques in this research were GEFT, creativity test and interview. Techniques to validate the data were time triangulation. The data analysis technique used was the concept of Miles and Huberman consisted of data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The aspect of creativity in this research were consists ofÂ  four aspects, there were fluency,Â  flexibility, originality and elaboration. Students less creative if they do not meet the four aspects of creativity, quite creative if they meet one, two and three aspects of creativity and creative if they meet the four aspects of creativity. The results showed that male students that have Field Dependent in solving problems are quite creative because they meet one of the creativity aspects which is fluency. The male students that have Field Independent in solving problems are quite creative because they meet two creativity aspects which are fluency and elaboration. The female students that have Field Dependent in solving problems are quite creative because they meet two creativity aspects which are fluency and elaboration. The female students that have Field Independent in solving problems are quite creative because they meet three creativity aspects which are fluency, flexibility and elaboration. So the male and female students that have Field Dependent and Field Independent have a quite creative but it are different in each aspect of creativity.Keywords: creativity, problem solving, cognitive style, gender.

#### Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of learning model toward learning outcomes in mathematics viewed from the reasoning ability. The learning models of this research were cooperative learning model of the GI with scientific, the cooperative learning model of the TPS with scientific, and the classical learning with scientific.This research used the quasi experimental research method with the factorial design of 3 x 3. Its population was all of the students in Grade VIII of State Junior Secondary Schools of Karanganyar. The samples of the research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique. The samples consisted of 280 students. The instruments used to gather the data were test of learning outcomes in mathematics and test of reasoning ability. The proposed hypotheses of the research were tested by using the two-way analysis of variance with unbalanced cells. The results of the research were as follows. 1) The students instructed with GI with scientific had a better learning outcomes in mathematics than those instructed TPS with scientific and those instructed the classical learning with scientific. Furthermore, the students instructed TPS with scientific had a better learning outcomes in mathematics than those instructed the classical learning model with scientific. 2) The learning outcomes in mathematics of the students with the high and moderate reasoning ability had a better than that of the students with the low reasoning ability. In addition, the students with the high reasoning ability had the same learning outcomes in mathematics as the students with the moderate reasoning ability. 3) On model of the GI with scientific, the students with the high and low reasoning ability had the same learning outcomes in mathematics as the students with the moderate reasoning ability. Moreover, the students with the high reasoning ability had a better learning outcomes in mathematics than those the students with the low reasoning ability. On model of the TPS with scientific and the classical learning with scientific results in the same learning outcomes in each of reasoning ability. 4) The students with the high reasoning ability, GI with scientific and the classical learning with scientific results in the same learning outcomes in mathematics as TPS with scientific. Furthermore, GI with scientific results in a better learning outcomes in mathematics than the classical learning with scientific. The students with the moderate and low reasoning ability had the same learning outcomes in each of learning model.Keywords: GI with scientific, TPS with scientific, learning outcomes, reasoning ability.
