Abstract

Abstract

Kata kunci : Best Practice; Panduan Perancangan; Arsitektur Islam  Abstract_ Various disciplinary studies from the Islamic point of view have been widely practiced, including in the field of architecture. Various opinions about the form of Islamic architecture was much emerging, both of which looked at Islamic architecture from the physical typology, philosophy to sociodemographic conditions point of views. However, in todays modern and heterogeneous era how an architectural product can be categorized as an Islamic architecture is still a debate. The absence of a reference in justifying the form of Islamic architecture becomes a challenge for Muslim architects. This paper intends to conduct an early identification against various best practices design based on the Quran and Hadith, that can be used as the built environment design references. However, this identification is not intended to be an absolute standard, but rather as a tool that strongly influences various conceptual aspects in helping the process of prioritizing and also in decision making in designing. It takes a multidisciplinary collaboration to realize the guidelines of Islamic Architecture design. Keywords : Best Practice; Design Guideline;, Islamic Architecture.

Abstract

Among the various types of disasters, diseases outbreaks were categorized as a non-natural disaster. Similar with natural disasters, non-natural disasters also requires an early warning mechanism to anticipate outbreaks that can cause human fatalities. One of them is Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and considered as a disease with potential outbreak. Therefore, DHF required an early warning mechanism as an important step for decreasing the numbers of DHF victims. The emerging of DHF closely related to climates which will affect the vectors behaviors and life cycle as well as the setting of human body physiology itself. The routine observation, recording and even climates prediction becomes very important to be done considering climate information has great potential in providing an awareness signal against DHF incidence. The purpose of this study was to encapsulate climate information which consists of rainfall, temperature and humidity and observe its influence on the DHF incidence of dengue in Banjarbaru during the period 2004-2013. This is a quantitative research with time trend ecological study as the research design. The path analysis is used to explain the causal relationships mechanism between variables. The analysis showed that rainfall has the most dominant influence on the DHF incidence in Banjarbaru during the period 2004-2013 and can be predicted that by the time the rainfall has reached the range of 275.4 mm - 359.1 mm, 83.3% - 86.3% humidity and 26,8°C - 27,4°C of air temperature then this condition can be perceived as a signal againts the rise of DHF occurrence rises that led into an outbreak in Banjarbaru.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS has become a burden for health in with it sufferers has reached 39 million worldwide. Around 620 thousand PLWHA has been identified all over Indonesia, with Surabaya has been listed among the top five cities with the highest number of HIV / AIDS cases in Indonesia.  This study was to determine the correlations between the HIV / AIDS knowledge with the Surabaya college student’s attitude towards PLWHA. This study was observational analytic research with cross-sectional approach. A proportional sampling chose as the research sampling technique, with 250 college students became the respondents. Data were collected from the results of filling out the online questionnaire. A Contingency Phi was used to perform a statistical test. The results indicated only 41.6% of respondents had a good knowledge level about HIV/AIDS,  while 77% of the students have already shown a positive attitude towards PLWHA. Furthermore, it is known that there was a relationship between students' knowledge regarding HIV / AIDS and their attitude towards PLWHA with a p-value of 0,000. From these results, it is expected that there will be an HIV/AIDS socialization for college students to increase a more comprehensive knowledge about HIV/AIDS and PLWHA.

Abstract

A Virus is an individual that cannot be described as an animal or a plant. If animals and plants contain two nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), on the contrary, the virus only has one of them. These nucleic acids can stimulate a complete virus replication cycle. The virus can only replicate and live on a living host if the host is finally dead, then the virus will move on the cells that are still alive. The virus has genetic material which is a protective protein coat called a capsid. Viruses can infect various varieties of organisms, both eukaryotes (animals, plants, protists, and fungi) and prokaryotes (bacteria and archaea). The Virus infects bacteria known as bacteriophage (phage). The Virus can cause serious diseases for humans such as AIDS, HIV, rabies, etc. Dogs belonging to Canidae family are the sibling of wolves, foxes and raccoon dogs. Among all members of Canidae, dogs have the most closely related to wolves which are the ancestors of dogs. The Canidae family generally has a small elongated body, sharp ear and muzzle, sharp smelling, can run fast and can swim. Dogs are human best friends. While taking care of the dogs, they can be attacked by various diseases. The closeness of the relationship between humans and dogs raises the potential for disease transmission, especially zoonosis and pandemics viruses.
