Abstract

This research aimed to know the application and the influence of learning model fishbowl toward students communication ability to environmental pollution concept at SMAN 18 Kabupaten Tangerang. The method in this research is quasi experiment by research design randomized control group only. The sample were students of class X-3 as experiment class and X-4 as control class which were selected by random sampling. The collecting data using a written communication ability test, observation paper and. Analysis of hypothesis using U-Mann Whitney in the signification α=0.05. The result of the research obtained score signification is 0.000 < 0.05 for oral communication ability and written communication ability obtained score signification is 0.007< 0.05, can be conclude that the use learning model fishbowl influenced toward students communication ability to environmental pollution concept at SMAN 18 Kabupaten Tangerang both orally and in written. The analysis to observation result showed of criteria the student was interest used of learning model fishbowl with average score 69.9% in enough criteria.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the quality of water by using water physics-chemical parameters and BMWP-ASPT index in Besar River Banjarbaru City.  Determination of water quality was using macroinvertebrate. Organisms found then calculated by BMWP-ASPT scoring, based on the score of tolerance on each of family types.  The water  quality measurement of Besar River was determined by  using physics-chemical parameters, diversity index, dominance, and ASPT BMWP score.  The water quality of  Besar River Banjarbaru based on physics-chemical factors tends to decrease from the upstream to downstream, the Besar River’s water quality based on the diversity of macroinvertebrates was moderate-severe.  And based on the BMWP-ASPT score of the macroinvertebrate, both of sampling 1 and 2 were polluted with the category of medium and severe dirty.  In general, the decreasing of water quality of  Besar  River was due to anthropogenic activities, so that the intolerant macroinvertebrates could not survive in polluted waters while the tolerant ones can adapt well to the polluted aquatic environment.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh field trip dengan pemanfaatan rumpon buatan terhadap keterampilan proses sains (KPS) dan sikap ilmiah siswa di SMP Satu Atap Pulau Tunda, Kecamatan Tirtayasa, Kabupaten Serang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian weak experiment, karena tidak adanya kelas kontrol. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMP Satu Atap Pulau Tunda yang dipilih secara purposive sampling, karena kelas X hanya ada satu kelas saja. Data diperoleh dari soal KPS, lembar observasi KPS dan sikap ilmiah selama pembelajaran, dan lembar wawancara. Hasil uji T menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0.00 < 0.05, menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode field trip dengan pemanfaatan rumpon buatan terhadap keterampilan proses sains (KPS) dan sikap ilmiah siswa di SMP Satu Atap Pulau Tunda. Aspek KPS yang memiliki persentase tinggi yaitu menggunakan alat dan bahan, dan interpretasi. Sikap ilmiah yang tertinggi yaitu rasa ingin tahu. Saran dari hasil penelitian ini agar KPS dan sikap ilmiah siswa dapat ditingkatkan lagi yaitu dengan cara kepala sekolah serta pemerintah daerah  berperan serta untuk memberikan  pelatihan bagi guru terkait model pembelajaran, KPS, dan sikap ilmiah.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the content of heavy metals mercury contained in the fish Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus L.) aquaculture cages around the Riam Kanan reservoir and compare it with quality standards based on the Decree of the Head of BPOM No. HK.00.06.1.52.4011 about the maximum limit of metal contamination in food, especially in fish. This study was conducted from September to December 2011. Sampling was conducted at three stations covering the village of Tiwingan Baru, Tiwingan Lama dan Aranio in the Aranio district. Sampling was done by purposive sampling method or sampling intentionally with certain considerations that are considered important. Mercury analysis performed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) instrument. Result showed that the average content of mercury in sediment samples at the first station of 0,0262 mg/kg; the second station of 0,1489 mg/kg and not detected at the third station, the content is still below the set threshold. The content of mercury in water samples of Riam Kanan reservoir at all stations are still below the threshold of water quality standards according to Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001. Result on the mercury content of Tilapia fish meat samples at all stations are still below the standards threshold based on the Decree of the Head of BPOM about the maximum limit of metal contamination in food, especially in fish.

Abstract

This research aims in descripting Science Process Competence (KPS) and student scientific behavior at SMP I Atap Pulau Tunda, Tirtayasa Region, Serang Regency.  This research was an introduction research  /observation to determine the study method or model  that can elevate KPS and student scientific attitude.   The research sample was students of SMP I Atap Pulau Tunda selected by purposive sampling.   Data was collected from KPS test, observation sheets of students scientific behavior during learning process,  interview sheets, and learning rank by the teacher.  This research result shows that the Science Process Competence and the scientific behavior of the students were still low.  Some of the reasons were the learning process was still ‘teacher centered’,  the teacher knowledge related to KPS and the scientific behavior  was still not adequate,  and the training experience was still not maximum.  Trainings given to teacher related to learning method and model, seminars about KPS and scientific behavior,  and facilitation given by of the headmaster and the government  are hopefully can elevate Science Process Competence and the scientific behavior at SMP I Atap Pulau Tunda.  Key Words: Science Process Competence, Scientific Behavior, and Science

Abstract

This research was aimed to know the creativity and understanding profile on sub concept of animal and plant organelle cells at class XI SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon. Method used in this research was a descriptive method. The research population was 24 students of Class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The instruments used in this research were creativity grading sheets, creative product grading sheets, and multiple choice questions. The result shows that the students’ creativity in the creativity process was categorized as “good” with average score of 78,69 and for creative product created by the students was also categorized as “good” with average score of 80,7. As for the concept understanding of the students, was categorized as “good” as well with the average score of 74,8.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the students critical thinking competence, and metacognitive competence based on genders through the learning model of problem based learning on the concept of environmentpollution at grade X of SMA 3 Kota Serang. The poppulation of the research was all students grade X MIPA, and the sample were 40 students at X MIPA 5 SMAN 3 Kota Serang City. This research used purposive random sampling technique. The instrumen used to essay test, kuesionerand observation. Based on result of this research, there is no impact between gender difference on critical thinking competence and metacognitive competence. Critical thinking aspect of male students belongs to equals category in 64,2, critical thinking of female students belongs to equals category in 61,6.  Metacognitive competence of  male students to high category in 141, and metacognitivecompetence of female students to high category in 137. The percentage of total critical thinking competence of all students using PBL model in good and excellent category is 51%, while the percentage of students' metacognitive competence in high category is 91%.

Abstract

Wastewater sources in Banjarmasin include institutional sources consisting of industrial activities, hotels, hospitals, and domestic wastewater. To the present, the amounts of pollutant load, type of source water contaminants in Banjarmasin are not yet inventored and properly identified. The purpose of this study was to inventory and identification of pollutant sources of water in an attempt to control water pollution in Banjarmasin. The research methods refer to Permen LH no.01 of 2010 on the governance of water pollution control. Based on the governors quality standards. No. 36 of 2008 of South Kalimantan, the study showed the greatest pollutant load of liquid waste was generated by restaurants, followed by hotels and hospitals.  As for the river, when viewed based on BOD and DO, river water in Banjarmasin at each sampling points showed the river water quality was in the level of  class III - IV.  The study also showed that Load of pollutants in the waters of the river in Banjarmasin has exceeded the value of Pollutant Load capacity.

Abstract

Masalah korosi pada pipa di kilang minyak sangat bervariasi tergantung padajenis minyak mentah yang di proses, atau karena kondisi lingkungan. Salah suatucara untuk mencegah agar pipa tidak terjadi korosi yaitu dengan sistem proteksikatodik untuk mengendalikan korosi pada permukaan logam dengan menjadikanpermukaan logam sebagai katode dari sel elektrokimia. Dari data pengamatanpanjang pipa adalah 28.000 m dan diameter pipa 8 inch dengan anoda yangdipakai adalah anoda magnesium 32 lbs. Hasil dari perhitungan untuk proteksikatodik adalah luas permukaan pipa sebesar 19261,074 m2, total kebutuhan arusproteksi 10,593 A, tahanan anoda yang dipasang horizontal 0,882 ohm, keluaranarus anoda per batang 0,567 A, total kebutuhan anoda 122 batang dengan umuranoda 26,349 tahun. Dari hasil evaluasi menunjukan bahwa pipa keseluruhan yangterproteksi dalam kondisi baik.Kata Kunci : Anoda, Korosi, Permukaan logam, Pipa, Proteksi Katodik.

Abstract

This research aimed to observe the influence of learning model Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) type towards students communication ability (written and oral) of urinary subconcept class XI. The method used quasi-experiment with randomize control group only research design. This research was held in MA class XI 2nd-semester academic year of 2017/2018. The sampling technique used in this research was random sampling with class XI IPA 3 as experiment class which  Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) was implemented and class XI IPA 4 as control class. Students’  written communication ability on experiment class with good category (71,4 %), control class with enough category (58,67 %) and students oral communication on experiment class with good category (68,67 %) and on control class with enough category (59,1 %). The result of hypothesis test analysis by using Z test on significant level α = 0.05, significance value result was (0.000) < 0.05 Ho rejected  for written communication ability and significance value result was (0.002) < 0.05 Ho rejected for oral communication ability, therefore it can be concluded that there was influence of learning model Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) towards communication ability (oral and written) of urinary subconcept class XI in MA. Keywords: communication ability, Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL), students oral communication
