Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan selama enam bulan dari bulan November 2002 – April 2003, dengan tujuan mengkaji menu makanan ikan tetet (Johnius belangerii Cuv.) di perairan pantai Mayangan. Penangkapan ikan contoh dilakukan sebulan sekali dengan menggunakan jaring insang dan jaring rampus dengan mata jaring 1,5 – 3 inci. Jumlah ikan yang dikumpulkan sebesar 1.548 ekor dengan kisaran panjang total 71- 225 mm. Kebiasaan makanan dihitung dengan metode indeks bagian terbesar. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwaPenaeus semisulcatus, Acetes, dan Clupea fimbriata merupakan makanan utama ikan ikan tetet. Tidak terjadi perubahan dalam variasi makanan, kecuali perubahan dalam proporsinya setiap bulan.Kata kunci: makanan, ikan tetet, indeks bagian terbesar, perairan pantaiThe research was conducted during six months from November 2002 – April 2003 in order to investigate the diet composition of belanger crokers (Johnius belangerii Cuv.) in Mayangan coastel waters. Fish samples were captured using gillnet and bottom gillnet with mesh sizes varying from 1,5 – 3 inch.The number of fish collected was 1,548 fish, which total length ranged 71-225 mm. For food habits analysis, the index of preponderance method was used. The result indicates that the main foods are Penaeus semisulcatus, Acetes, and Clupea fimbriata. Monthly diet shift change does not occur in organism, but their proportion.Key words: diet, belanger’s croaker, index of preponderance, coastal waters

Abstract

Pabean Bay is an estuary that has the potential of natural resources for fisheries.  One of the organisms that has an important role here is phytoplankton. This study aims to analyze spatially and temporally the composition of phytoplankton abundance as fish food sources in Pabean Bay waters, West Java. Phytoplankton and physics-chemical parameters were taken monthly samples (June 2016-March 2017). Data analysis included the composition and abundance of phytoplankton, one-way variance analysis based on time and zone, the relation of physics-chemical parameters of aquatic to phytoplankton abundance, and phytoplankton used by fish as food. The abundance of phytoplankton differs on a monthly basis, but is not different in each zone. The phytoplankton found in the Pabean Bay is dominated by the Bacillariophyceae class. The dominant type of phytoplankton feeds from some of the captured fishes is Nitzschia and Pleurosigma from the Bacillariophyceae class.

Abstract

Silurid catfishes O. miostoma (Vaillant, 1902) is an endemic species in Mahakam Watershed East Kalimantan. Biology reproduction aspect of this species is not yet known. The purpose of this study was to determine the stages of gonad maturation characteristics, egg size, and spawning type. Fish sampling conducted monthly from November 2013 to Oc-tober 2014, using many gears at four locations in Mahakam Watershed, i.e: Semayang Lake, Belayan River, Siran River and Tering River. To determine the stages of gonad maturation in silurid catfishes were carried out by morphologic and histologic examination methods. Spawning fish type was determined based on the distribution of eggs diameter. The results of this research showed that there are five gonad maturation stages of males and females of silurid catfishes. Dis-tribution of eggs diameter in gonad maturity stages ranges from 0.54 – 1.30 mm with simultaneous spawning type.AbstrakIkan lais O. miostoma (Vaillant 1902) adalah spesies ikan endemik di Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Mahakam Kaliman-tan Timur. Aspek biologi reproduksi ikan ini belum pernah diketahui. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan karak-teristik tahap kematangan gonad, ukuran telur, dan tipe pemijahan. Pengambilan contoh ikan dilakukan setiap bulan, dari bulan November 2013 sampai Oktober 2014 menggunakan berbagai jenis alat tangkap pada empat lokasi penelitian di DAS Mahakam yang meliputi: Danau Semayang, Sungai Belayan, Sungai Siran, dan Sungai Tering. Penentuan ting-kat kematangan gonad ikan lais dilakukan dengan metode pemeriksaan morfologis dan histologis. Tipe pemijahan ikan lais ditentukan berdasarkan sebaran diameter telur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada lima tahap kematangan gonad jantan dan betina ikan lais. Sebaran diameter telur pada tahap matang gonad berkisar dari 0,54 - 1,30 mm dengan tipe pemijahan serempak.

Abstract

The research was conducted in order to investigate condition factor, length-weight relationship, and reproductive aspect of Aphareus rutilans in Palabuhanratu Sea, Sukabumi, West Java from June 2005 to February 2006. Sample fish was captured by hand line. A total of 151 individuals were taken. The fish samples ranged from 245-830 mm in length. Length-weight relationship showed that fish had negative allometric growth type. Condition factor of male and female varied from 0.88 - 1.13 and 0.89 - 1.19 consecutively. Chi-Square test showed that sex ratio was unbalance. The stage of gonad maturity was found I, II, and IV for males and I - II for females.
