Abstract

Indonesia sangat kaya akan sumber daya obat yangberasal dari alam yang sampai saat ini belum seluruhnya diteliti dengan tuntas untuk dapat memenuhi berbagai persyaratan dan kriteria bahan obat yang dapat menjamin kebenaran khasiat, keamanan dan mutu obat yang dapat digunakan untuk pengendalian penyakit baik untuk manusia ataupun ternak.Soekaryo (1989) berpendapat sampai saat ini kebanyakan pemanfaatan obat bahan alam di Indonesia masih tradisional alam arti pemakaiannya terutama sebagai obat tradisionil atau jamu yang masih jarang dan belum diterima oleh para tenaga kesehatan dan institusi kesehatan sebagai obat pada pelayanan kesehatan formal.

Abstract

Among 78 native chicken from Bogor and its surrounding districts, only  4 (5.1%) with mean dressing weights of 1250 ± 29 g were free from parasiric worms. The other 74 chicken found infected with nematodes [mean nematode numbers (mn) = 24]. Cestodes (mc = 45) and trematodes (mt = 7). Single parasite class infections of nematode (mn = 18) and of trematode (mt = 96) were each one sample (1.3% with mws 1250 and 1180 g, respectively); single parasite class infections of cestode (mc = 47) were 15 (19.2% wit mw = 1145 g). Total single parasite class infections were 17 (21.8%). Mixed nermatode (mn = 29) + castode (mc = 50) were 41 (52,6%; mw = 1056 g), nematode (mn = 4) + trematode (mt = 28) were 2 (2.6% mw = 1225 g) and cestode (mc = 44) + trematode (mt = 6 - were 2 (2,6%; ws = 975 g). Total two parasite class infections were 45 (57.7%). Mixed infections of nematode (mn - 45) + cestode (mc = 44) + trematode (mt = 27) were 12 (15,4%; mw = 1034 g).

Abstract

Ascaridiosis yang disebabkan oelh Ascaridia galli merupakan penyakit parasitik internal yang penting pada peternakan unggas. Di Amerika Serikat, cacing in merupakan parasit yang sangat banyak menyerang ternak ayam (Wehr, 1972). Di Bogor penyakit ini menduduki urutan ke 6 dari penyakit unggas (Gordon dan Poernomo, 1974) dan di Indonesia sendiri kejadiannya sebanyak 14.3% (Ginting, 1986).Penularan penyakit umumnya terjadi secara langsung yaitu dengan menelan telur cacing  yang infektif (Tugwell & Ackert. 1952). Perkembangan dari infeksi A. galli dipengaruhi oleh nutrisi, mineral dan suhu (El Tomi, Aziz, Kader dan Wahab, 1974, Reddy dan Ratman, 1985).

Abstract

Abstract: The stability of check-dam in arboretum of Sumber Brantas village. Sumber Brantas water sources area is arboretum territory which has to be maintained as conservation either for technical or vegetation (plants cover) by sustainable development. Arboretum territory is made as asylum in irrigation system district of Brantas River. This research discusses technical conservation activity to build the check dam in conserving the area. Check dam is built dimensionally by using HEC-RAS Program to get safe and stable dimension for rolling, shifting and piping of Sf > 1.5, and based on hydrologic analysis to get maximum flood discharge of 48.01 m3second-1. Hydraulic analysis is used to get water level profile and pressure for the dam body. Stability of the structure will be controlled by construction load (weight of check dam) and its fully sediment storage condition. The result of this research shows that the safe and stable dimension for check dam are as follows: 28 meter of width; 3 meter of main height; 1.5 meter of sub-height; 10 meter of stilling basin length (Main Dam?Sub Dam).

Abstract

Waduk Penjalin terletak di wilayah Kabupaten Brebes, Provinsi Jawa Tengah, dibangun sekitar tahun 1930 –  1934. Waduk  Penjalin hanya dipergunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air irigasi seluas 29.000 Ha. Sumber airnya selain dari Kali Pemali juga berasal dari air hujan yang jatuh di Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Waduk Penjalin dan yang jatuh langsung ke waduk. Curah hujan tahunan rata-rata di daerah ini berkisar antara 2.750 mm. Pemeliharaan Waduk Penjalin belum dilaksanakan secara serius oleh pengelola. Sejak dibangun tahun 1934 hingga sekarang, baru dilakukan dua kali pemeruman untuk mengontrol perubahan Waduk Penjalin, sehingga perubahan secara perodik tidak bisa dideteksi. Dengan kata lain, apabila terjadi perubahan tidak bisa dilakukan tindak lanjut secara berkala. Volume efektif waduk pada awal mula beroperasi sebesar 9,5 juta. Setelah beroperasi selama 76 tahun diperkirakan volume Waduk Penjalin kurang dari 50%, terbukti dari volumenya sudah tidak dapat lagi mengairi irigasi seluas 29.000Ha. Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengelolaan proses belajar mengajar, aktivitas siswa, hasil belajar siswa, serta responsiswa dan kendala yang ditemui setelah diterapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada kelas XI SMA Wahid Hasyim IV Waru Sidoarjo dengan menggunakan metode penelitian one shot case study. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, didapatkan hasil yang sangat memuaskan. Pengelolaan proses belajar mengajar dengan pada semua aspek berlangsung dengan baik, dilihat dari hasil pengamatan pengelolaan pembelajaran dengan skor tertinggi didapat pada aspek persiapan, yaitu sebesar 3,50. Aktivitas siswa selama KBM lebih dominan menekankan pada proses belajar siswa, aktivitas afektif dan aktivitas motorik siswa. Hasil belajar kognitif siswa tuntas 100%, respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru sangat baik dan siswa sangat menghargai apa yang guru lakukan untuk siswa.  Sedangkan kendala yang ditemui selama pembelajaran adalah kurang mampunya guru dalam mengelola waktu selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Kata Kunci: deskriptif, STAD, penerapan, tumbukan.   Abstract A study on the application type STAD cooperative learning in order to describe the learning outcomes of students after implementation type STAD cooperative learning in class XI High School Wahid Hashim IV Waru Sidoarjo using the one shot case study research. Based on the research conducted, the results obtained are very satisfactory. Management of the learning process in all aspects went well, judging from observations of learning management with the highest score obtained in the aspect of preparation, that is equal to 3.50. Activities of students during a lecture more dominant emphasis on student learning, affective activity and motor activity of students. Cognitive learning outcomes of students completed 100%, student response to learning that teachers do very well and the students really appreciate what teachers do for students. While the obstacles encountered during the study was an unqualified teacher in managing time during the lesson. Keywords: descriptive, STAD, implementation, impact.

Abstract

Microbial fuel cell (MFC) merupakan salah satu pembangkit energi listrik terbaharukan dan ramah lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan bakteri E. coli yang banyak terdapat di alam. MFC dapat digunakan secara langsung untuk membangkitkan energi listrik dari bahan organik, tetapi tegangan yang dihasilkan tipe biasa hanya berkisar 0.6 V. Masalah ini dapat dipecahkan dengan memodifikasi sistem menjadi susunan banyak cell yang terhubung secara seri dan paralel. Tahapan penelitian yang yang dilakukan meliputi penanaman bakteri E. coli, pembuatan sistem MFC, pengukuran tegangan dan arus dan penyimpanan energi ke baterai. Setelah pengujian dilakukan diperoleh data yang menunjukkan bahwa MFC tipe gabungan dapat menghasilkan keluaran tegangan dan arus yang lebih besar dibandingkan MFC tipe biasa. Hal ini dikarenakan MFC tipe gabungan memanfaatkan karakteristik hubungan seri dan paralel dimana nilai tegangan dan nilai arusnya adalah akumulasi dari total semua sumber tegangan dan sumber arus yang ada. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tipe seri keadaan berbeban dapat membangkitkan tegangan maksimal sebesar 576 mV, rapat arus maksimal 91,29 mA/m² dan rapat daya maksimal 27,802 mW/m2. Bila.menggunakan MFC tipe paralel didapatkan Voc maksimal 305 mV, rapat arus maksimal 303,25 mA/m2 dan rapat daya maksimal 20,596 mW/m2. Sedangkan MFC tipe seri-paralel didapatkan Voc maksimal 563 mV, rapat arus maksimal 246,17 mA/m2 dan rapat daya maksimal 33,195  mW/m2 Kata Kunci : microbial fuel cell, E. coli, open circuit voltage, tegangan, baterai.

Abstract

Background: Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) are pathogenic microorganisms causing inflammation and imbalanced gut microflora that may result in diarrhea. Pediococcus pentosaceus (P. pentosaceus) isolated from “dadih” (milk curd) are used as probiotics containing lactic acid bacteria (LAB), which are useful to improve the balance of intestinal microflora and inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. This study was aimed to recognize the effect of P. pentosaceus supplementation on stool frequency, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and gut microflora balance in experimental mice with EPEC-induced diarrhea. Method: The study was conducted in 60 white mice (Mus muscullus) at Biomedical Laboratory, Biotechnology/Production and Animal Husbandry Technology Institute, University of Andalas, Padang in April 2012. The frequency of stool, TNF-α level and microflora balance of the mice were measured before and after the EPEC-induced diarrhea and following the administration of antibiotics. Statistical analysis was performed using ANOVA and Duncan test. Results: The highest mean stool frequency was found in positive control group, i.e. 55 times, which was reduced significantly after 12-hour P. pentosaceus supplementation in a dose of 2 x 108 cfu/g into 18 times. The mean TNF-α level in positive control group was 128.17 pg/mL that lowered significantly to 48.0 pg/mL. The highest mean total number of LAB was 97.0 x 107 cfu/g, which was significantly different from positive control group of 7 x 107 cfu/g. Conclusion: P. pentosaceus supplementation in a dose of 2 x 108 cfu/g may reduce the stool frequency, lower TNF-α and improve the gut microflora balance following 12-hour supplementation in diarrhea-induced mice. Abstract

Jragung irrigation Area is located in Demak Regency has decreasedin its performance. The result of existing analysis showed that there is an imbalance of irrigation water within it. Based on its performance analysis taken from regulation of the ministry of public works No. 32/PRT/M/2007, Jragung Irrigation area has been classified as poor and requiremore attention with 66.95% working performance only. Efforts to increase its performance is by rehabilitation priority scale with following the AHP (Analytical Hierarcy Process) methods. With its main priority is Jragung Dam and Main Canal of Jragung, subsequently Teluk Secondary Canal, Sugihwaras Secondary Canal, Jragung Secondary Canal, Karangsono Secondary Canal, Ngumpul Secondary Canal, Pamongan Secondary Canal and Panjen Secondary Canal respectively. Efforts to overcome the imbalance of irrigation water is by the alteration of cropping periods from November to December and conventional cropping methods to SRI (System Rice Intensification) methods could save 53.25 % of irrigation water. Abstract

This research is for finding the suitable the synthetic data generating model for daily rainfall in the region of Middle Brantas River Basin in the East Java Province. There are 7 models being considered, 4 models for single-site generation, (1) the two-part, model group, (2) the transition probability matrix model group, (3) the resampling model group, and (4) the time series model group, and 3 models for multisite generation, (5) the conditional, model group, (6) the extension of single site Markov chain model group, and (7) the random cascade model group. All of the time-series produced by the daily rainfall synthetic data generation are then tested statistically. The results show that statistically the differences between the historical time series and the synthetically time series are not too significant. It turn out that the multisite model have produced better synthetic time series compared to those which have been produced by the single-site models.Keywords: generating model, synthetic data, daily rainfall.
