Abstract

Abstract. Management of marine and fisheries resources should consider the carrying capacity and assimilation capability of marine and fisheries resources. The minister regulation Number 1 year 2009 concerning the division of fisheries management zone into 11 zone (WPP) is an effort in managing of marine and fisheries resources. This study was aimed to: (1) Update base map and information at WPP and (2) Aplication of WebGIS technology to manage marine and fisheries resources. The collection data as spatial database, Geographic Information System was used to analyze the data and the presentation of information as Web GIS format. The Results of this research was data and information associated with fishing management zone (WPP) in the form of spatial database in WebGIS format.Keywords: WPP; Marine and Fisheries Resources; Web GIS

Abstract

Abstract. Wakatobi Regency with its capital Wangiwangi Island has a great potential of natural resources, i.e.  sloping white sandy beach which strategically stretched out from north to south. The purpose of  this research is to identify beach type, to make a map of beach type in Wangiwangi island  and to identify potential of object tourism.  The metodology of this research is using field observation and the Geographical Information System (GIS). The field obervation was used to measure the beach’s width, length and slope.  The tools used in research are geological compass and applicable measurement equipment. The result of field obervation was used to make spasial analysis to get Map of beach characteristic. Processing of beach map characteristic using ARC GIS 9.3. The lithology of Wangiwangi island beach is limestone, its morphology is of high relief and low relief and there are three types of its characteristic, (they are); sandy beach, sandy beach with fragment coral and cliff beach. The locations of sandy beach are at waha and cemara beach. The location of Sandy beach with fragment coral are at Wapia beach, in Patuno island, in Matahora island and for cliff  beach are at Weki beach, in Kapotan island, at Buni beach and Batutobengko beach. The sandy beach and sandy beach with fragment coral are suitable for coastal tourism such as swimming, sunbathing and fishing.Keywords: Geographical Information System (GIS); beach characteristic; Wangiwangi Island; coastal tourism. Abstrak. Kabupaten Wakatobi dengan pusat pemerintahan di Pulau Wangiwangi memiliki sumberdaya alam yang sangat potensial dengan pantainya yang landai dan berpasir putih, membujur dari utara ke selatan dan posisinya sangat strategis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasikan jenis pantai di Pulau Wangiwangi dan memetakan kondisi pantai di Pulau Wangiwangi serta mengidentifikasikan potensi wisatanya . Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode observasi langsung dan analisis spasial. Pengamatan observasi langsung diterapkan untuk mengukur lebar pantai, panjang pantai dan berm menggunakan alat ukur meteran, sedangkan kemiringan pantai dengan kompas geologi. Hasil dari pengamatan pantai digunakan untuk membuat  analisis spasial sehingga diperoleh Peta jenis karakteristik pantai. Proses pengolahan mengunakan ARC GIS 9,3. Kondisi  pantai  Pulau Wangiwangi berdasarkan geologi (litologi penyusun)  didominasi oleh Batu Gamping Koral (Limestone), morfologi terdiri atas Relief Tinggi dan Relief Sedang sedangkan karakteristik pantai Pulau Wang-Wangi  terdiri dari  Pantai berpasir,. Pantai berpasir bercampur fragmen karang dan. Pantai bertebing karang. Lokasi Pantai Berpasir di Pantai Waha dan Pantai Cemara. Pantai Berpasir bercampur fragmen karang berada di Pantai Wapia, Pantai Patuno, Pulau Matahora, sedangkan Pantai bertebing karang tersebar di Pantai Weki, Pulau Kapotan, Bungi dan Batutobengko. Potensi wisata pantai dapat diusulkan pada jenis pantai berpasir dan pantai berpasir bercampur fragmen karang. Objek wisata antara lain berenang, berjemur dan memancing.

Abstract

Coral reefs contribute significant benefits in coastal area in Wangi-wangi Island, Wakatobi in terms of their ecological functions to marine biota and socio-economical services to local coastal communities. Therefore, it is importance to observe coral reef condition and its spatial distribution around Wangi-wangi island waters, Wakatobi. In this study Point Intercept Transect (PIT) and GIS tools were used to observe and analyze coral reef condition in Wangi-wangi island waters, Wakatobi. The results showed that coral reef condition in Wangi-wangi island waters can be categorized into moderate and good conditions with coverage percentage ranging from 28 ? 60%. Based on spatial analysis non-acropora coral was found in greater cover percentages in Waha village, Sombu village, and Kapota island than other locations. Soft coral cover percentage was also found in larger cover percentage in Waha and  Sombu regions than other locations. Keywords: coral reefs, geographic information system (GIS), Wangi-wangi Island

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi terumbu karang pasca tsunami sebagai langkah awal dalam upaya rehabilitasi terumbu karang. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan membandingkan kondisi terumbu karang tahun 2002 sebelum tsunami dan tahun 2009 pasca tsunami menggunakan citra satelit Landsat ETM7 melalui analisis Lyzenga. Pengamatan langsung di lapangan menggunakan metode LIT (Line Intercept Transect) dan pengukuran kualitas perairan. Lokasi pengamatan berada di Ujung Seurawan,  Sea Garden di Pulau Rubiah,  Sea Garden 1, Rubiah Channel 2 dan  Loh Weng. Kondisi terumbu karang yang berada di Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Pulau Weh ini berada pada kondisi yang buruk sampai baik. Terumbu karang kondisi baik terdapat di lokasi Sea Garden 1 (54,26 %), kondisi sedang di Rubiah Channel 2 (26,32%) dan Sea Garden 2 (39,5%) sedangkan kondisi buruk terdapat di Ujung Seurawan (19,28 %) dan Loh Weng (15,14%). Bentuk kerusakan terumbu karang antara lain patah, terbalik dan hanyut. Jenis terumbu karang yang rusak terdapat di sebelah timur Pulau Weh yaitu sekitar Pulau Rubiah dan sekitar Teluk Loh Pria Laot. Kisaran kondisi perairan berupa pH, salinitas, suhu dan DO menunjukkan bahwa kualitas perairan berada pada kondisi baik untuk perencanaan kegiatan rehabilitasi terumbu karang.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengembangan pariwisata bahari berbasis masyarakat di Pulau Kaledupa dan sekitarnya, Kabupaten Wakatobi, Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Oktober – November 2014. Penelitian menggunakan metode analisis prospektif partisipatif, wawancara, analisis pengaruh antar-variabel kunci, membangun skenario, dan analisis implikasi strategis dan aksi antisipatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga variabel utama yang harus dititikberatkan dalam pengembangan wisata bahari di Pulau Kaledupa dan sekitarnya, yaitu informatif, koordinasi antar instansi, dan sumberdaya alam. Penitikberatan pada ketiga variabel tersebut diharapkan dapat menghilangkan kesalahpahaman dan kesalahpenafsiran atas informasi yang diberikan sehingga dapat menunjang hubungan yang harmonis antar pemangku kepentingan pengembangan wisata bahari. Koordinasi yang harmonis diharapkan dapat mensinergikan antar perencanaan, pengembangan dan pengelolaan. Diharapkan pula sumberdaya alam yang ada berkesinambungan tanpa mengurangi dan merusak kualitasnya.ABSTRACTThe research on community based marine tourism development at Kaledupa island has been conducted on October – November 2014. This research used participatory prospective analysis, interview, Influence Analysis of inter key variables, scenario building, and Analysis of Strategic Implication and Anticipative act. The result shows that there are three key variables that should be focused on marine tourism development at Kaledupa island i.e informative, inter-institutions coordination, and natural resources. These variables should be focused in order to relieve misconception and misinterpretation on information which is given, so that it can support harmonic relationship between marine tourism stakeholders. The synergy of planning, development, and management can be expected from harmonic coordination. It is also expected that existing natural resources are sustainable without reducing and damaging the quality.

Abstract

Wakatobi Regency has a huge capacity in natural resources with its beautiful and pristine coastal ecosystems that host 25 coral reefs species in diverse forms. The regency is considered as the world’s best biosphere and frequently visited by local and international tourists for diving/snorkeling. The objectives of this study are to determine the role of marine tourism in Wakatobi’seconomy and formulate an appropriate and strategic policy for its marine tourism development plan. Methods used in this research are theLocation Quotient (LQ) analysis to determine the relative ability of a sub-area to a wider area in the specific sector, and theProspective Participatory Analysis for preparing the marine tourism development plan. The LQ analysis for the marine tourism (trade, hotels, and restaurants) sector based on GDP data from 2004-2007 shows values ranging from 0.808-0.881, which indicate poor potential and low contribution of this sector toWakatobi’s economy. TheProspective Participatory Analysis involving 18 variables related to marine tourism development indicates that Wakatobi Regency has four key variables. These are:community behavior towards environmental protection, community character, human resources andmotivation. These variables would play an important role in preparing and implementing marine tourism development plan in Wakatobi Regency.

Abstract

Healthy coral reefs depends on the quality of the waters , so that research and monitoring of water quality becomes important. This research attempt to asses marine waters quality at kaledupa island and it’ s surrounding waters on October and November 2014. 33 In-situ samples were collected using multiparameters tool purposively which are categorized into  physical parameters (temperature, turbidity and clarity), and chemical parameters (DO, salinity and pH). Waters quality defined by STORET method based on Ministry of Living Environment decree number 115 year of 2003. Analysis geographically has been conducted to describe distribution of waters quality spatially. The result shows that Kaledupa waters has sustain slightly pollution, especially on DO, turbidity, temperature and salinity parameters which have deviated from standard values. The light pollution in Kaledupa waters is suspected caused by the entry of abundance organic matter and shallow bathymetry.

Abstract

Penerapan konsep eco fishing ports bertujuan untuk menstandarkan pelabuhan perikanan yang sesuai dengan ISO 14001 sehingga produk perikanan secara standar internasional (standar Uni Eropa) dapat diterima. Salah satu indikator penerapan eco fishing port adalah dilakukannya pengukuran parameter kualitas air. Paper ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep eco fishing port berbasis kualitas air di salah satu pelabuhan pendaratan ikan (PPI) di Kabupaten Bintan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di PPI Barek Motor, Kabupaten Bintan. Pengamatan kualitas air menggunakan alat multiparameter SONDE EXO-1 dalam kurun waktu 6 bulan dari Desember 2015 – Mei 2016. Parameter kualitas air yang diamati meliputi temperatur, konduktivitas, oksigen terlarut (Dyssolved Oxygen/DO), pH dan turbiditas. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan Microsoft excel 2010 untuk memperoleh indeks pencemaran (IP) dan status mutu perairan melalui analisis Storet. Standar baku data kualitas air mengacu pada Kepmen Lingkungan Hidup nomor 115 tahun 2003. Hasil menunjukan bahwa perairan sekitar PPI Barek Motor tergolong tercemar sedang. Pengelolaan yang berlandaskan pada eco fishing port belum mengena pada standar mutu produk perikanan yang didaratkan, namun lebih kepada kondisi fisik perairan. Dalam kasus ini, parameter turbiditas merupakan penyumbang pencemaran tertinggi akibat pengaruh antropogenik yang terbawa oleh sungai di sekitar area penelitian. Dihasilkan pula fungsi fisik pelabuhan sebagai hasil dari penilaian terhadap komponen fisik dan ekologi, yang kemudian dapat dijadikan sebagai komponen pendukung dalam mengkuantifikasi eco fishing port.

Abstract

Kepulauan Karimunjawa yang terletak di lepas pantai Kabupaten Jepara, Provinsi Jawa Tengah, merupakan gugus pulau-pulau kecil yang terdiri dari 27 pulau. Sebagian kawasan Kepulauan Karimunjawa seluas 1.116,25 km2 telah ditetapkan sebagai Taman Nasional Karimunjawa. Secara geografis wilayah kepulauan Indonesia, termasuk Kepulauan Karimunjawa, berada pada kawasan rawan bencana, dengan potensi tinggi terjadinya berbagai bencana hidrometeorologi, seperti gelombang ekstrim dan abrasi. Kepulauan Karimunjawa rawan bencana terutama karena kondisi alam dan geografi setempat. Gelombang ekstrim dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya gelombang pasang dan abrasi Kepulauan Karimunjawa. Mengukur tingkat ancaman gelombang ekstrim dan abrasi di pesisir pantai merupakan bagian dari suatu kajian risiko bencana di daerah rawan bencana. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kepulauan Karimunjawa menggunakan metode penghitungan indeks ancaman gelombang ekstrim dan abrasi berdasarkan Peraturan Kepala Badan Nasional Penangulangan Bencana No. 2/2012 tentang Pedoman Umum Pengkajian Risiko Bencana, dengan parameter tinggi gelombang, arus, tutupan vegetasi, bentuk garis pantai dan tipologi pantai, difokuskan di daerah sempadan pantai. Proses analisis data menggunakan perangkat lunak keruangan ArcGIS dan ER Mapper. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat tiga kelas ancaman gelombang ekstrim dan abrasi di daerah sempadan pantai di lokasi studi, yaitu rendah (0,01%), sedang (19,33%) dan tinggi (80,67%). Penggunaan lahan yang terkena ancaman gelombang ekstrim dan abrasi yaitu perkebunan (48,33%), hutan mangrove (23,28%) dan vegetasi (13,05%).
