Abstract

Compost is organic materials like leaves, straws, reeds, grasses, and even the animal faces which have experienced decomposition process by micro organism so can be used to repair the nature of soils. The aims of this research are (1) Designing Temperature Controller system by using LM35 temperature Censor with Atmega8 microcontroller, (2) Designing and constructing software using C language program to control temperature automatically, (3) Testing temperature controller device at composting machine. Research parameters include censor calibrating, microcontroller testing, and whole device testing. The research conduction got the result for temperature sensor 1, 2, 3, and 4 used LM35 censor at range 25oC – 70oC. Linear regression for censor 1: y = 0.098x + 2.059 determination coefficient score is 0,996. Linear regression for censor 2: y = 0.101x + 0.876 determination coefficient score is 0,995 Linear regression for censor 3 and 4: y = 0.098x + 2.059 with determination coefficient = 0,996. From the whole device testing, first step intake of temperature data, 30 minutes interval for 3 days: deviation score 1st day = 0.98, 2nd day = 0.906, and 3rd day = 0.937. Controlled temperature composting needs less time and produce less stink than composting without temperature control.Keywords : composting, controlling, microcontroller, temperature.

Abstract

AbstractThe objective of present study was to investigate the effect of various sounds on the green mustard’s (Brassica Juncea) morphology characteristic and productivity. The plant has been subjected to three various sound, namely classical music (rhythmic violin music), machine and traffic noise, and mixed sound (classical music and traffic noise) with 70-75 dB sound pressure level, from germination to harvest for three hours (7-10 am.) each day. Six parameters, i.e. germination, plant height, leaf width, leaf lenght, total plant lenght, and fresh weight, related with growth and productivity of plant were been monitored on regular basis.The results showed classical music improves germination up to 15% for 36 hours, plant height 13,5%, leaf width 14,8%, leaf length 14,2%, and wet weight 57,1%. Abstract

Kesehatan ibu merupakan target dalam Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) atau tujuan pembangunan millennium. Poin kelima dari target tersebut adalah meningkatkan kesehatan ibu. Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) merupakan indikator untuk menilai tingkat kesehtaan ibu. Indonesia tercatat sebagai negara yang memiliki Angka AKI tertinggi di kawasan Asia Tenggara. Tahun 2003, Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) mencapai 307 per 100.000 kelahiran hidup. Angka tersebut telah turun menjadi 290,8 per 100.000 kelahiran hidup pada tahun 2005. Data terakhir pada tahun 2007 menunjukkan Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) sebesar 228 per 100.000 kelahiran hidup. Angka tersebut masih jauh dari target Millenium Development Goals (MDG’s) tahun 2015  yaitu 102 per 100.000 kelahiran hidup. Penulisan karya tulis ilmiah ini menggunakan studi literatur dengan memperoleh data-data dari referensi atau literatur yang kemudian dianalisis. Untuk menurunkan Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) di Indonesia dapat dilakukan sebuah upaya atau program yaitu Intensive Community Empowerment. Intensive Community Empowermet atau pemberdayaan masyarakat yang intensif merupakan suatu upaya yang intensif untuk membuat masyarakat menjadi lebih berdaya dan mandiri dalam memelihara kesehatannya.  Dengan kata lain Intensive Community Empowermet merupakan program yang berbasis masyarakat dengan langkah-langkah yang teridiri dari mapping strategy, penyuluhan intensif yang dilakukan oleh bidan dan tenaga kesehatan lainnya dan pemberdayaan dukun bersalin.

Abstract

Experimental Simulation of The Effect of Size and Location of Coolant Pipe Break inNuclear Reactor Using UUTR.Mod-l. Several experiments of LOCA with various break size andlocations have been conducted using UUTR.Mod-l testfacility. The break sizes studied are 2 mm, 5 mmand 10 mm, each at hot-leg and cold-leg side. The initial conditions ofthe experiment are 1 MWofpower,primary side pressure of 155 bar approximately, coolant flow rate of 9.8 kg/s and only accumulator isfunctioned as emergency coolant. Both at hot-leg and cold-leg, the break size of 2 mm showed slowerpressure decrease rate and the occurrence of temperature increase early after break. For larger breaksize, pressure decrease is faster and showed rod temperature excursion due to rod uncovering.Concerning the breaklocation, in large break area, cold-leg breakshowed heater temperature excursionearly than in case of hot-leg break. Size and location of break determine the timing of event and, asconsequence, different behavior of response system. In any cases to prevent the fuel temperatureexcursion, the addition ofautomatic depressurizationsystem and installation ofinjection system in upperhead ofpressure vessel have been consideredin the nuclearreactor design.

Abstract

Efficacy of selected Trichoderma isolate and organic matter to control foot rot of black pepper in the field. The objective of this experiment was to determine the efficacy of selected Trichoderma isolatand organic matter to control the disease. Dual culture method was used to select a Trichoderma isolate. The experiment to evaluate the efficacy of selected isolate consisted of control (no application of T. harzianum or organic matter), T. harzianum and rice straw, and T. harzianum and coffee husk. As starter, T. harzianum was grown in broken rice. Two liters of organic matter was infested with suspension of 10 g starter in 100 ml steril water and incubated for 2 weeks. The mixture was applied around the base of black pepper stem. The results showed that all plants treated with T. harzianum and organic matter did not show disease symptom. Ten percent of the control plants showed symptoms. However, statistical analysis showed that the occurrence of the disease was not significantly different between treatments. Applications ofT. harzianum and rice straw increased the density of Trichoderma for 1 and 2 months after application. T. harzianum and coffee husk increased the density of the fungus 1 month after application.

Abstract

The preventive control of white root rot disease in small holder plantation using botanical, biological, and chemical agents. A field and laboratory experiment were conducted from June 2008 to December 2009 in Panumangan, Tulang Bawang - Lampung. The  field experiment was intended to evaluate the effect of  botanical plants (Alpinia galanga, Sansiviera auranthii, and Marantha arundinacea), biological agents (organic matter and Trichoderma spp.), and chemical agents (lime and natural sulphur) on the incidence of white root rot disease and population of some soil microbes. The laboratory experiment was conducted  to observe the mechanism of botanical agents  in controlling white root rot disease. In the field experiment, the treatments were applied  in the experimental plot with cassava plant infection as the indicator. The variables  examined were the incidence of  white root rot and population of soil microbes. In the laboratory experiment, culture of R. microporus was grown in PDA containing root exudate of the antagonistic plant (botanical agent). The variable examined was colony diameter of R. microporus growing in the PDA plates. The results of the  field experiment  showed that planting of the botanical agents, and application of Trichoderma spp., as well as natural sulphur, decreased the incidence of white root rot disease. The effectiveness of M. arundinacea and Trichoderma spp. was comparable to natural  sulphur. The laboratory experiment showed only root exudate of  A. galanga and  S. auranthii that were significantly inhibit the growth of R. microporus.

Abstract

Saat ini, penemuan alat dan mesin pertanian berkembang pesat. Dimulai dari alat tradisional yang biasa disebut ani-ani yang hanya dapat memotong malai padi, sampai combine harvester yang memiliki beberapa fungsi seperti memotong, perontokan, hingga pengarungan gabah. Akan tetapi, tidak semua petani memiliki keuangan yang baik untuk membeli mesin yang tepat. Ditambah lagi, perbedaan luas lahan menjadikan beberapa mesin tidak dapat bekerja secara optimal. Demi memecahkan permasalahan itu, BBPMP (Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian. Departemen Pertanian) memodifikasi mesin mower konvensional menjadi “direct couple” mower Untuk menggantikan fungsi sabit. Namun, performansi mesin di lapangan masih belum diketahui. Disamping itu, tim dari Lab. Daya dan Mesin, Keteknikan Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya, juga melakukan modifikasi pada mower yang ada. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kapasitas kerja, kehilangan gabah saat panen (losses) dan biaya pemanenan. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan utama. Pertama, persiapan mesin dan lahan sawah di Kabupaten Sumbermanjing Wetan. Kedua, Pengujian performansi mesin dengan beberapa parameter yang akan diukur. Terakhir, analisis data kemudian didapatkan kesimpulan atas performansi mesin. Hasil Menunjukkan bahwa nilai rerata dari KLT sebesar 0.162 m2/s,  KLA sebesar 0.1565 m2/s,dan efisiensi sebesar 96.6% . Losses yang dihasilkan dari mesin hasil modifikasi Lab. Daya dan Mesin sebesar 22.425 kg/ha  dimana nilai kehilangan tersebut lebih kecil ketimbang penggunaan sabit (195-208 kg/ha) atau mower dari BBPMP (173.55 kg/ha). Kemudian, Nilai Break Even Point (BEP) mower adalah sebesar 19 ha dengan waktu 2.7 bulan untuk mencapai payback periode.

Abstract

Inovasi dan penggunaan teknologi rice transplanter berpeluang untuk mempercepat waktu tanam bibit padi serta mengatasi kelangkaan tenaga kerja tanam bibit padi. Pola tanam dengan produktifitas tinggi yaitu jajar legowo, untuk pola tersebut digunakan rice transplanter tipe indo jarwo. Kepadatan benih pada media persemian (dapok) yang optimal dibutuhkan untuk mendapatkan hasil panen yang baik, dan kesesuaian terhadap pengoperasian rice transplanter. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengamatan dan analisis pengaruh perbedaan kepadatan benih pada media persemaian dapok. Kepadatan yang digunakan yaitu 60 gram, 70 gram, dan 80 gram pada luas tiap dapok 1044 cm2. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga perlakuan kepadatan benih pada media persemaian dan pengulangan sebanyak 3 kali. Keragaman perlakuan dianalisis menggunakan analisis varians pada taraf uji F 5% dan 1%. Perbedaan rata-rata perlakuan diuji mengunakan beda nyata terkecil (BNT) 5%. Hasil penelitian didapatkan kepadatan benih pada media persemaian berpengaruh terhadap jumlah pengeluaran bibit per lubang, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan persemaian padi, kerusakan bibit, jarak tanam, kecepatan penanaman, dan efisiensi.

Abstract

The rapid development of current technology make school participate institution developedfollowing period. Especially in the Vocational High School (SMKN) 3 Sukoharjo. SMKN 3 Sukoharjostill using manual method in  data processing of data in particular student report cards. In this researchresearcher completed the application program processing of student report cards with the aim ofprovide a solution to undertake processing of them.The application processing of student report cards is divided into two actors are admin and user.Admin can access all the data while the user can perform maintenance access and print the value of thesubject value. The application processing of student report cards were tested using method of McCall to getquality value 77.2%. According to the test results expected report cards processing of applications usedand performance of employees and assist teachers in SMKN 3 Sukoharjo to minimize errors in data processing.
