Abstract

This study was intended to find out how collaborative writing gives better effects to thestudent’s Japanese ability in writing. There were three aspects that investigated: (1) Teachinglearning process, (2) Learner and teacher finding problems in collaborative writing, (3)Student’s suggestion of collaborative writing. This study employed descriptive qualitativedesign by using classroom observations and interview method to collect the data. The majorfindings of this study are: (1) Collaborative writing enable student to practice and developwriting skills, however, the lack of grammar ability cause peer correction not appropriate, (2)Teaching learning sakubun becomes more various by using this technique.

Abstract

Learning kanji is generally difficult for the Japanese learners because its figure, stroke order, and pronounce (onyomi and kunyomi) are difficult to remember. Moreover, every object in the world is presented by kanji. Thus, practically there are large in numbers of kanji. Remembering all the kanji and also the jukugo is not easy. Most of the students may easily forget it soon after they learn it. Therefore, they have to find effective, fun, and easy learning methods to improve their ability in mastering kanji. The bottom line is that they must consistently review the kanji they have learned to ensure that they would never-ever forget them. Otherwise, no matter how memorable the kanji are, they make up its nature to start forgetting and lose track of them once they start learning their 500th kanji and beyond. Flashcards could be a good solution to overcome the problem. It could help students consistently review the kanji, especially the jukugo.

Abstract

Abstract   While learning the kanji, most of the students find difficulties in memorize its yomikata. The problems usually come into their mind when they have to remember lots of kanji along with its meaning and stroke order. Most of the students forget it very soon after they learn it. They have to find effective, fun, and easy learning method to improve their ability in mastering kanji. It could help students consistently review the kanji, especially the jukugo. Flashcard power point could be a good solution to overcome this problem. The result of the study shows that flashcard power point could enhance student’s skill in reading the kanji in a very short time. Key Words: kanji, flashcard

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aspek budaya masyarakat Jepang yangtercermin dalam dongeng Jepang (minwa) yang berjudul Tanishi Chooja (TC) melaluipenelitian antropologi sastra. Langkah analisis antropologi sastra ditetapkan sebagaiberikut: (1) Peneliti menentukan terlebih dahulu karya mana yang banyak menampilkanaspek-aspek etnogra!is (2) Meneliti pemikiran, gagasan, falsafah, dan premis-premismasyarakat yang tercermin dalam karya sastra (3) Memperhatikan struktur cerita (4)Menganalisis simbol-simbol ritual serta hal-hal tradisi yang mewarnai masyarakat dalamsastra itu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem mata pencaharian masyarakatJepang kuno adalah bertani, sistem kemasyarakatannya feodal dan mengenal pajakpertanahan. Sistem religinya percaya pada dewa-dewa yang dipercaya menguasai segalayang ada di bumi misalnya dewa air. Wujud kebudayaan sistem religi ini diwujudkan dalambentuk matsuri atau festifal yang diselenggarakan untuk menghormati dan menyembahdewa-dewa. Wujud kebudayaan !isiknya adalah tempat pemujaan dewa-dewa kamidana(altar) dan jinja (kuil). This research aimed to analyze cultural aspect of Japanese society reflected on Japanesetale (minwa) entitled Tanishi Chooja (TC) through literary anthropological research. Stepsof literary anthropological analysis were set as follows: (1) researcher determinedpreviously which literary works had perform ethnographical aspects; (2) researcherinvestigated thought, idea, philosophical value, and societys premises reflected on literaryworks; (3) researcher noticed structure of the story; (4) researcher analyzed ritualsymbols and traditions colouring the society in the literary works. Result of the researchshowed that old Japanese livelihood system was farming, feudal social system, and land taxacknowledgement. Their religious system believed to gods that were believed masteringall aspects on earth, like god of water. Their religious system was manifested in a form ofmatsuri or festivals held for respecting and worshiping gods. Their physical culturemanifestation was places for gods glorification such as kamidana (altar) and jinja(temple).

Abstract

AbstractJapanese character Kanji is difficult for the students who learn Japanese as a foreign language. Bacause Kanji has stroke order, and also Chinese and Japanese ways of reading. Moreover one character of kanji is presenting one meaning, thus the amount of kanji is massive. The informal interview conduct in some students on Semarang State University, Japanese Department, 2nd semester, reveal that students got problems in memorizing the meaning and also the ways of reading and writing kanji. They often find difficulties while combining two kanji characters become a word (jukugo). Some words they didn’t familiar with will cause any further problems such as they didn’t know how to apply it into the sentence. Actually, the text book they use has reading and writing practice sections which is enough and proper to learn by themselves. But sometimes students need to make they own sentences in order to make their memory of kanji more lasting. Since the students admitted that they lacks of practice making sentences, therefore, we conducted an experiment in a class, using kanji card in order to overcome the student’s problems mentioned above. The result shows that this technique is effective and encourages students to: produce jukugo, produce sentences which using the kanji, students feel fun in learning kanji. But, not quite suitable if we conduct it in a large class.

Abstract

多くの外国語学習のために、漢字には画数・部首・筆順、読み方などのユニークな特性を持っているので、学び、記憶するのことは難しい。スマラン国立大学の学生に観察とインタビューの結果に基づき、漢字を読み書き方や意味を記憶するが難しいである。その理由は授業で勉強した漢字が多すぎる。今まで漢字の授業では面白いメディァを使用しているが、漢字の読む練習に中心した。授業時間が足りないので書く練習は自分で自宅でさせる。一方、日本語文に漢字を応用するのはあまりしない。 上記の事実に基づき、著者は協同学習方法で漢字学習に関する研究を行った。本研究では代替の教育漢字を提供し、その結果、学生協同の能力を向上させることができ、漢字語彙(熟語)を習得する能力を向上させることができ、積極的に学習グループに関与していることが期待されている。テストの結果はそのメソッドが熟語習得を向上させることができ、日本語文に漢字を適用する学生の能力を向上させることができることを表す。

Abstract

Kemampuan seorang mencakup; kemampuan pedagogik, kemampuan kepribadian, kemampuan sosial dan kemampuan professional yang didapat melalui melalui pendidikan profesi. Kemampuan tersebut tertulis dalam UU No.14 Tahun 2005 pasal 10 ayat 1. Sama halnya dengan dosen maka guru sebagai pengajar/pendidik disebut profesianalisme, apabila telah memiliki kemampuan dalam melaksanakan Tri Darma, 1) guru harus terampil mengajar, 2) guru harus mempunyai kemampuan melaksanakan penelitian atau karya ilmiah, 3) guru harus memiliki kemampuan melaksanakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Sebagai guru yang memiliki tugas menyampaikan ilmu. Dalam menyampaikan ilmu, tidak hanya dapat dilakukan di dalam kelas, tetapi juga dapat dilakukan di luar kelas. Salah satunya, ilmu yang disampaikan oleh guru lebih bermanfaat apabila disampaikan melalui karya tulis ilmiah. Karya tulis ilmiah tidak hanya dapat dinikmati oleh peserta didik, tetapi juga oleh masyarakat luas. Karya ilmiah juga merupakan nilai profesionalisme dari seorang guru, karena kegiatan menulis karya ilmiah mendukung profesi guru, baik dalam proses belajar dan mengajar ataupun dalam berdiskusi untuk memecahkan masalah tertentu yang diajukan. Permasalahan yang diidentifikasi pada program pengadian kepada masyarakat ini adalah: 1) Pengetahuan dan pemahaman para guru tentang Penelitian Tindakan Kelas masih kurang, 2) Pengalaman guru dalam hal penelitian tindakan kelas masih kurang, 3) Pengalaman menyusun proposal masih kurang, 4) Budaya dalam hal kegiatan penelitian di lingkungan sekolah masih kurang. Hasil yang diperoleh melalui kegiatan ini yaitu terdapat peningkatan pemahaman para guru bahasa Jepang SMA/SMK dalam pelaksanaan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas se-Kota Semarang, peningkatan kemampuan para guru bahasa Jepang di SMA/ SMK dalam menyusun proposal Penelitian Tindakan Kelas se-Kota Semarang, dan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan para guru bahasa Jepang SMA/SMK seKota semarang dalam melaksanakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas.

Abstract

Japanese character (hiragana, katakana, kanji, and romaji) is difficult for the students who learn Japanese as a foreign language, especially the kanji. Kanji has stroke order, and also Chinese and Japanese ways of reading. Moreover one character of kanji is presenting one meaning, thus the amount of kanji is massive. The informal interview conduct in some students on Semarang State University, Japanese Department, 2 semester, reveal that they got problems in memorizing the meaning and also the ways of reading and writing kanji. The reasons are there are too many kanji character and kanji compound they had to memorize in a short time during the class. It was not easy for them to memorize all the kanji. It was like memorizing the new vocabulary. Some words they didn’t familiar with will cause any further problems such as they didn’t know how to apply it into the sentence. Sometimes they ask the teacher, sometimes they didn’t. If they ask to the peer, they didn’t get the answer because the peer didn’t know either. Actually, the text book they use has reading and writing practice sections which is enough and proper to learn by themselves. But sometimes students need to make they own sentences in order to make their memory of kanji more lasting. Since the students admitted that they lacks of practice making sentences themselves nor with their peer, inside or outside the class, therefore, we conducted an quasi experiment in a class, using roundtable cooperative learning technique combine with kanji card in order to overcome the student’s problems mentioned above. This technique encourages students to: produce sentences which using the memorized kanji, working together in groups, students feel fun in learning kanji. nd But, this technique not quite suitable if we conduct it in a large class.

Abstract

Memorizing the vocabulary is the important thing in learning Japanese. If the students couldn’t memorize it, it will make the learning process don’t run smoothly. This condition was found in SMAN 15 Semarang. The teacher use picture card to teach vocabulary, but the student still couldn’t remember all the vocabulary well. The memory story method will help students memorizing the vocabulary. The idea is, by making an imaginary story of each word, students will remember the vocabulary for a long time. This research was an experiment study. The purpose of this study is to find the effectiveness of memory story in enhancing the student vocabulary. The sample of the experiment class was 28 students from XII IPS 2, and the control class was 28 students from XII IPS 3. The data gathered by using a post-test. The result of pos-test shows that the average score of experiment class was 84.14, higher 4.71 points than the control class (which is only 79.43). The t-test result, prove that memory story was effective to enhance student’s ability in memorizing the Japanese vocabulary.
