Abstract

Unsur terbesar penyusun campuran beton aspal adalah agregat, sehingga kualitas campuranbeton aspal sangat ditentukan oleh kualitas agregat penyusunnya. Salah satu indikator kekuatanagregat adalah nilai abrasinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh nilai abrasiagregat terhadap karakteristik campuran beton aspal. Variasi nilai abrasi yang digunakan yaitu16,41%, 20,44%, 25,71%, 28,57% dan 35,86%. Diketahui bahwa semakin besar nilai abrasi agregatmaka stabilitas campuran semakin menurun. Nilai stabilitas tertinggi sebesar 1787,477 kgdiperoleh pada nilai abrasi 20,44%. Rentang nilai abrasi yang memenuhi seluruh parameterkarakteristik campuran beton aspal (VMA, VIM, VFB, Flow, Kepadatan, MQ dan Stabilitas) yaituantara 7,592% dan 64,98%

Abstract

Pavement Recycling as alternative technology in pavement construction and maintenance iscontinuously developed due to scarcity and highly cost of materials. The aim of this research is to modifyrecycled material by adding a polymer that is capable to improve the physical properties of bitumen andthe performance of recyled mixture. The asphalt mixture in this research is AC-Wearing Course (AC-WC)which contain Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), fresh material and asphalt Pen 60/70. Percentage RAPused is 20% and 30% to the total weight of mixture. Fatigue Performance of mixture was measured using 4-Point Bending Test Apparatus with strain control. The result from bitumen characteristic tests shown that RAPbitumen has lower penetration grade and higher viscosity value. Fatigue test shown that, rising thepercentation of RAP will increase the fatigue resistance of mixture by higher average number of cycles at30% RAP mixture (19307 cycles). Generally, the research shown that RAP can be used as alternativematerial to the pavement rehabilitation. In spite of that attention of maximum RAP percentation in mixtureand construction quality control should be taken into account.

Abstract

Increased population growth boosted road transport infrastructure. So it takes a good pavement structure. Efforts to increase the hot asphalt mix with the new specification implies the use of hydrated lime as an anti stripping agent in the mix asphalt. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of the use of hydrated lime as a filler that uses a mixture of asphalt with aggregate filler composition arrangement between a stone dust and hydrated lime on Asphaltic Concrete - Wearing Course (AC - WC). The composition is lime: stone dust is 0%: 100%, 25%: 75%, 50%: 50%, and 75%: 25%.  The results of this research indicate that the lime filler significantly affects the quality of the mix, the value of stability, flexibility, durability, density, VIM, VMA, VFB, and flow with the value of F table greather than F arithmetic based on Anova two factor analysis. From the research lime used 0%, 25%, and 50%, due to the variation of 75% lime can not set the value of the optimum bitumen content. Stability values obtained at optimum bitumen content in lime variation of 0%, 25% and 50% is 1114,862 kg, 1243,425 kg, and 1167,645 kg. And for Retained Marshall Stability value of 94,303%, 98.301% and 99.202%. The quality of the mix with hydrayed lime as a filler is better. Based on the value of Marshall Stability and durability, it can be stated that the addition of hydrated lime as a filler can improve the quality of the mix. Abstract

Nilai Indeks Penetrasi (PI) pada aspal, menunjukkan ketahanan aspal tersebut terhadap perubahan temperatur. Penggunaan perkerasan daur ulang (RAP) dalam hal ini aspal daur ulang, tentunya akan menurunkan tingkat ketahanan aspal terhadap perubahan temperatur. Makin rendah tingkat ketahanan aspal terhadap perubahan temperatur, maka makin buruk mutu dari aspal tersebut. Untuk itulah diperlukan modifikasi terhadap aspal daur ulang sehingga dapat memperbaiki tingkat kepekaannya terhadap perubahan temperatur. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan modifikasi aspal dengan tambahan polimer elastomer yaitu polimer Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) dengan persentase 2,5% dan 5% terhadap berat aspal. Dan bitumen daur ulang yang digunakan sebesar 30% dan 40% terhadap berat aspal. Dalam menentukan nilai Indeks Penetrasi digunakan berdasarkan persamaan Pfeiffer dan Van Doormall, yang merupakan hubungan antara nilai penetrasi dan titik lembek aspal. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh,  nilai indeks penetrasi tertinggi diberikan oleh campuran dengan kandungan RAP 0% dan SBS 5% yaitu sebesar -0,040. Dari hasil analisa terlihat bahwa penambahan polimer SBS dapat meningkatkan nilai indeks penetrasi (PI) yang berarti dapat menaikkan tingkat ketahanan aspal terhadap perubahan temperatur. Abstract

Pavement recycling is one of resources conservation and preservation methods. Using of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) can give contribution to pavement quality because its quality reduction possibility due to over load of vehicle in lifetime service. For that reason, RAP physical properties research would be taken. This research using aggregat and bitumen which is come from RAP extraction. Aggregat testing such as Impact Value (AIV) test, Aggregat Pressure Value (APV) test and Spesific gravity test. Bitumen testing are penetration test, softening point test and  Spesific gravity test. According to the research result, was found that RAP aggregat can be used as a pavement material. The fact can be figure out from AIV value is about 6,6% and ACV value is 20,4%. Otherwise RAP aggregat gradation is not fulfill the specification, so that gradation modified must be taken. RAP bitumen testing showing that penetration value is 21,6 dmm and softening point value is 57°C. It means that adding modifier or rejuvenating agent is necessary to do to increase quality of RAP bitumen   Keywords: RAP aggregate, RAP bitumen, recycling

Abstract

The aim of this study is to modify recycled material by adding a polymer that is able to improvethe physical properties and performance of asphalt and recyled mixture. Asphalt mixture used in this study was Aspahlat Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) containing Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), fresh materials, asphalt Pen 60/70, and SBS polymer. The proportion of RAP used was 20% and 30% of the total weight of the mixture. For each RAP variation, asphalt Pen 60/70 was mixed with 0%, 2.5%, and 5% of SBS polymer. MODULUS KEKAKUAN LENTUR DAN SUDUT FASE CAMPURAN MATERIAL PERKERASAN DAUR ULANG DAN POLIMER ELASTOMER

Abstract

Abstract Pavement Flexural Stiffness Modulus and Phase Angle tend to bend due to over load of vehicle. Using Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), in this case asphalt recycling will decrease deformation endurance of asphaltic mixture. The lower deformation endurance of asphaltic mixture, the worse asphaltic mixture quality is. Therefore modified of asphalt recycling, must be done to improve deformation endurance of asphalt. This research using Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) which is elastomer polimer as asphalt modifier. Variation of SBS polimer are 2.5% and 5% of asphalt weight and variation of RAP are 20% and 30% of mixture weight. The value of Flexural Stiffness Modulus and Phase Angle was determined by Fatique testing using Four Point Loading Apparatus. According to the result, the highest Flexural Stiffness Modulus is 5,763.67 MPa which found in variation RAP 30% and SBS 5%. This mixture composition also have the lowest Phase Angle that is 23.33°. The result showing that the stiffness will be increase by adding Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) and SBS Polimer. Keywords: Flexural Stiffness Modulus, Phase Angle, Reclaimed Asphalt Pevement (RAP), SBS polimer  Abstrak Nilai Modulus Kekakuan Lentur dan Sudut Fase campuran beraspal memperlihatkan kecenderungan material untuk mengalami deformasi akibat beban yang diterimanya. Penggunaan perkerasan daur ulang, dalam hal ini aspal daur ulang, akan menurunkan tingkat ketahanan campuran beraspal terhadap deformasi akibat beban yang diterimanya. Makin rendah tingkat ketahanan campuran terhadap deformasi yang terjadi, makin buruk mutu campuran tersebut. Untuk itu diperlukan modifikasi terhadap aspal daur ulang sehingga dapat memperbaiki tingkat ketahanannya terhadap deformasi yang terjadi. Pada penelitian ini digunakan modifikasi aspal dengan tambahan polimer elastomer, yaitu polimer Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene dengan persentase 2,5% dan 5% terhadap berat aspal. Kandungan material daur ulang yang digunakan adalah sebesar 20% dan 30% terhadap berat campuran. Nilai-nilai Kekakuan Lentur dan Sudut Fase diperoleh dari pengujian kelelahan campuran menggunakan Four Point Loading Apparatus. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa nilai Modulus Kekakuan Lentur tertinggi diberikan oleh campuran dengan kandungan material daur ulang 30% dan Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene 5%, yaitu sebesar 5.763,67 MPa. Komposisi campuran ini juga memberikan nilai Sudut Fase yang terkecil, yaitu 23,33°. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penambahan polimer SBS pada material daur ulang meningkatkan kekakuan. Kata-kata kunci: Modulus Kekakuan Lentur, Sudut Fase, material daur ulang, polimer SBS

Abstract

Abstract In this study, the mixture of Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) was examined, by modifying the asphalt using cellulose fiber in the form of viatop66 as additive materials. The addition of cellulose fibers is expected to increase the asphalt softening point so that the drain down of Stone Matrix Asphalt can be reduced. The results of this study indicate that the use of viatop66 succeeded in raising the softening point of asphalt and the drain down of the mixture of Stone Matrix Asphalt is reduced significantly. Keywords: softening point, cellulose fiber, drain down, stone matrix asphalt  Abstrak Pada studi ini diteliti campuran Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) dengan melakukan modifikasi aspal dengan menambahkan bahan tambah serat selulosa berupa viatop66. Penambahan serat selulosa ini diharapkan mengubah titik lembek aspal menjadi lebih tinggi sehingga menurunkan drain down campuran Stone Matrix Asphalt. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan viatop66 berhasil menaikkan titik lembek aspal dan sifat drain down campuran Stone Matrix Asphalt berkurang secara signifikan. Kata-kata kunci: titik lembek, serat selulosa, drain down, stone matrix asphalt

Abstract

Tadulako  University  as one of  the state  universities  in the province  of  Central  Sulawesi  has  experienced rapid  development.    Physical  growth  that  continues  to  grow  along  with  its  academic  development causes  the movement of traffics activity to participate in the increase. This can cause negative impacts such as high pollution levels, vehicle density and high accident rates often occur in the campus area. This  study aims  to analyze  the  transportation system within the Tadulako University Campus. It is expected that with this research it can be obtained the description of  traffic  problems  that  occurred  in  the campus of Tadulako University includes network system and  road geometry, parking  and  analyzing the  policies  of  traffic  that  is  currently applied  in  the  campus of Tadulako University. Traffic surveys show that motorcycle users account for 66.8% and automobiles 33.2%. Geometric survey shows that the road in the campus  is  relatively good because almost all  roads have been  structured with asphalt with one way road  system. Survey on parking location also indicate that arrangement of parking space at some faculty are required so that vehicle not parked at road body. Further research is necessary to calculate the need for parking space.
