Abstract

Data compression can be very effective when we used and store a file while that file has an enormous size. Run-Length method is used in data compression which has repeated characters. Run-Length method is the most effective method used in compression especially for graphics files, which it has array contain the same length of the character. When the same character received three times or three times in the form of arrays, this algorithm compressing data in the form of three array characters.

Abstract

Development of image processing technology can be applied in fruit identification process which is implemented at fruit store and mini market. Initial process is taking pictures of fruit. The image retrieval results using the integral projection method for scanning the object and the process of identifying shapes, colors, size of the image shown by the graph of the histogram. The fruits arerecognized using the comparison method consists of comparing the features integral projections obtained compared with the projection integral features in the database. From these results will provide name of fruit, weight and unit price. Therefore, this system can be used as a system that facilitates the transactions at shops and mini market.

Abstract

Control systems in industrial process initially conventionally (using a relay /contactor), logic gates (logic 525), with the development of technology automation control system, so that made control equipment more efektih and better reliability is PLC (Programmable Logic Control). As the name implies, the PLC controls the process in accordance with the description by the program, if there is a change in job description of the process input and output circuit no change. Models controlling the Distributed Control System (DCS) is the development of PLC equipment where DCS is a control system operation can be performed at the center of the controller (sentralsisasi) and control units (decentralized). DCS operate more effectively than centralized or decentralized. DCS control model is not a good process control system because if an error occurs due to failure in the system, then the resulting system is the process of quitting. Stopping the process control system for a repair and replacement of components takes time and considerable financial losses. Therefore we need the concept of fault tolerant, which is a method for reducing the cessation of the system due to fault on the control component.In this study discusses the design of a model engineering, implementing and testing the concept of fault tolerant on DCS PLC-based control system for cement raw material transport in PT.Semen Padang. Changing the DCS to DCS fault tolerant by adding and improving hardware and software used in the system, so it can detect and replace major equipment work automatically when the failure occurred.Testing the concept of fault tolerant applications on DCS at PT. Semen Padang Indarung the continuity of the process that can reduce the cessation of work due to the fault system control components. Testing the concept of fault tolerant system also improves the reliability of DCS. DCS system reliability without fault tolerant1.421 x 10-23dan after using the concept of fault tolerant system reliability 1.454x10-19 with 10232.23% rise.

Abstract

Video coding technique is used to transmit video from transmitter to receiver with different applications and capacities. The chosen video coding system is using a standard video coding FGS (Fine Granularity Scalability) with spatial and temporal scalability. The algorithm of motion compensation is implemented for temporal redundancy. On the other hand, DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) algorithm and quantization are applied for spatial redundancy. Furthermore, the error transmission is used on temporal redundancy by implementing noise on motion vector. The simulation results provides the different levels of PSNR for bitrate in video coding compression system on layer base scalability and layer base + enhancement.  Layer base + enhancement has a higher PSNR than layer base.

Abstract

Handling uncompressed video digital data need a huge storage. In this research,an uncompressed video frame needs 1 MB for data storing, otherwise the storage capacity is limited. To compress a video surveillance, a method which was used in this research is Video Surveillance Compression Base on Edge Detection with Wavelet Transform. Firstly, at encoder side, the dominant edges of a frame were detected and decoded as information side. The good categorized decoders are one step decomposition and 64 for quantization value. If decomposition process go to next second step, then quality of reconstructed frame became worse visually with PSNR value 25,11dB. To obtain searched frame that should be compressed, the error values were used as video frames spatial different. The allowable of error values for succeeded compression are from 0,02 to 0,04 , meanwhile those bigger then 0,04 produced a few compressed frame with just a 1% compression factor. The compression factor which so low that it causes data lost of much information. To get encoding performance comparison based on edge detection and Discreate Wavelet Transform (DWT) standard, measurement of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) was employed. From the results obtained the applied methods was siutable to video  surveillance compression.

Abstract

VoIP ( Voice over Internet Protocol ) is a technology used for communication in the form of IP based voice media over long distances. The concept of a VPN (Virtual Private Network) in this paper makes a client that is on the public network can be connected to a LAN network. To use the VoIP server in the Linux operating system Trixbox,  whereas for the VPN server using ClearOS and X-lite is used as a softphone to make calls to the client. Of testing at 64kbps bandwidth using the G711 codec produces value performance (delay, jitter, and packet loss ) is not good, so that voice data delivered is less clear. Thus the choice of bandwidth for the G.711 codec 512kbps up is the best solution to get the value of the performance (delay, jitter, and packet loss) better . And a choice of 3 Greed (low, medium, high) on setting bandwidth, high is the best option. Because it can produce the best performance for VoIP VPN technology.

Abstract

Zimbra mail server is an open source software that distributed files or information in response to a request message is sent via email. Benefits from the mail server so that aninstitution or company has an email domain and mail server itself. The protocol used is SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is used to collect and distribute mail and POP3(Post Office Protocol v3) is used to allow users to retrieve and read email remotely. Email data sent from client A and processed into the systems mail server then checks ifthe email is still in its domain or not, if yes, an email message will be sent to the client B that still in the domain. This is because the mail server system that built within the localnetwork.

Abstract

Video transmission over the internet can be a great possibility of the existence of lost packets (packet loss) and load variations in a large bandwidth. This is a source of network congestion can interfere with the rate of data communication. In this paper the proposed planning optimal error control in scalable video transmission to a video coding technique FGS (Fine Granularity Scalability), which is an improvement on the MPEG-4 video coding, which has outputs are scalable base layer and layer Enhanchement that have different sizes and rates , which the application will be adapted to the transmission network conditions, the ultimate goal is to minimize any distortion from the source to the destination. In the simulation yields a value Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) on the base layer of 29, 683 dB and 78,917 dB enhancemenet layer and the base layer for the MSE of 69,998 dB and 0,000834417 dB  enhancemenet layer, Means Square Error (MSE) as the performance of the network system performance on video quality for both the base layer and layer Enhanchement

Abstract

Satelit LAPAN-TUBSAT yang merupakan satelit mikro pertama yang dibangun LAPAN Indonesia yang bekerja sama dengan Technical University of Berlin (TU-Berlin, Jerman), hingga kini telah dapat menghasilkan gambar video daerah-daerah diwilayah Indonesia sesuai misinya yaitu sebagai satelit surveillance yang mengamati permukaan bumi. Satelit LAPAN-TUBAT ini beredar pada orbit polar, bergerak dan melingkupi seluruh daerah di Indonesia dari timur ke barat seiring dengan rotasi bumi. Untuk memanfaatkan satelit ini secara maksimal maka perlu disiapkan stasiun bumi kendali dan penerima data payload (muatan) satelit terebut. Operasi satelit LAPAN-TUBSAT yang dilakukan melingkupi 2 (dua) hal pokok yaitu operasi pengamatan kondisi kesehatan satelit dan operasi muatan satelit dalam perolehan data video. Sementara fungsi dasar operasi satelit ini melakukan fungsi Telemetri Tracking and Command (TT&C) yaitu melakukan operasi Telemetri, penjejakkan (Tracking) satelit dan operasi pengiriman data komando (Command) ke satelit untuk melaksanakan misi operasinya.
