Abstract

Pada kesempatan ini telah dilakukan penelitian dengan topik " Pengaruh kekasaran permukaan pada akurasi hasil uji kekerasan logam dengan metode lndentasi" meliputi tiga metode, yailu : Metode Brinnel, Metode Vickers, dan Metode Rockwell C. Secara umum kekasaran permukaan benda berpengaruh terhadap hasil uji kekerasan Logam, Pengaruh ini akan sangat terlihat pada pengujian kekerasan dengan menggunakan metode Brinnel dan Metode vickers. Pengaruhnya akan semakin kecil pada pengujian dengan Metode Rockwell. Tingkat akurasi yang tinggi akan dapat dicapai dengan melakukan pengujian kekerasan Logam pada tingkat kekasaran tertentu yang sesuai dengan metode pengujian.

Abstract

Mild stell is low carbon steel  contain 0,3 % carbon, for example ST 37. the mechanic properties hardness, tensile strength, tougness etc depend on carbon contain. In realty the weakness of ST37 are difficult to hardening. To increase hardness of mild steel are done heat treatment at 800 °C and 100 °C temperature. After that are hold for 30 minutes and then are quenched in oil SAE 10 and water for 15 minutes. For measuring hardnees of sampl are Brinell Methode. The result of testing the sample are obtained data like this, for heating 800 °C quench water the hardnees increase about 23,23 % and quench oil SAE the hardness decrease 28,54 %. When are heated 1000 °C the hardness both of sample decrease finally, in this experiment can be taken conclusion that mild steel are difficult to be hardening.

PLC (Programmble Logic Controllers) adalah suatu system elektronik yang dirancang untuk industri dengan menggunakan memori yang dapat deprogram sebagai penyimpan internal dari instruksi-instruksi untuk mejalankan fungsi-fungsi khusus logika, sequence, waktu (timer), pencacah (counter) dan aritmatika, untuk mengontrol berbagai jenis mesin atau proses melalui input dan output digital atau analog.

Abstract

Design clippers (punch) examination of strength shift plastical stuff to accuration result of examination has been studied in this experiment. This examination made making some types design clippers / crosscut side punch in with changing form punch and crosscut angel. Form designed from punching and clippers clearance influence accuration result of examination of strength shift plastic and determining accuration store level result of examination. Result of most precise examination and believe most appropriate is punching in with crosscut side form level off with crosscut angel corner 0º to horizontal line that owns highest truth store level (96,52 %)

Abstract

Occurrence  of  O-ring  seal  leakage  accumulator  Dump  Truck  steering  system  causes  the movement of components to be unstable and difficult to control. A series of tests have been conducted to determine the cause of leakage and mitigation efforts include: Visual testing,  Dimensional testing, Testing Physical and mechanical properties of materials. It was found that the O-ring  seal leakage caused  by overheating  due to excess hours of operation  that causes changes in the physical properties that impact on changes of mechanical properties by   increasing   tensile   strength   (79.92%)   and   reduced   elongation   (14.8%).   Reduced elongation ability would greatly influence the ability of O-ring seals as seals and to result leakage. It is necessary to note the working temperature of the fluid with respect to hours of operation of the unit as recommended by the manu facturer.

Abstract

This study focused on the design and   testing of   Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) for  wind  power  applications  as  an  alternative  solution  to  the  energy  needs  of  residential electric lighting, especially so far from the cities area underserved by the State Electricity Company in West Sumatra. The method used is the experimental method with the following steps:  1.  Designing  Wind  Turbine  2.  Make  Turbine,  3.  Testing  Laboratory,  4.  Field  Test. The results obtained are a wind turbine capable of filling Battery to generate 200 watts of electrical  energy,  can  operate  with  an  average  wind  condition  of  Indonesia,  design  and simple construction, can be created and operated by the community itself.

Abstract

Production process in transforming plastic sheet into various types of domestic equipment are monopolized by big Industries, Technically, this process can also be conducted by small industries/ domestic industries by applying Thermoforming process.  Regarding with this condition, an activity which includes Research, Designing, and constructing process for thermoforming machine has been conducted. The main objective of this activity is to construct simple with low cost investment of thermoforming machine which can be applied in domestic / small industries.  Method that is used in achieving this goal is by conducting research as supporting activity in designing and constructing a thermoforming vacuum machine and it will be followed with testifying process. This machine has been testified by using a piece of plastic sheet made of Polystyrene (HIPS) and Polyethylene terephtalate (PET) with following conditions : Temperature of heating process is 120 oC, time of heating process is 3 second, time for vacuuming and cooling process is 2 second, and pressing power in vacuuming process is – 0,05 Mpa. The good product and capacity of production that have been gained can be calculated as ± 720 piece/ hour. It means this thermoforming vacuum machine can be simply made applied in domestic/ small industries.

Abstract

Wind energy is one type of energy that is expected to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, which are increasingly reduced in number, in the utilization of wind turbine technology is required conformity with the characteristics of wind turbine where it is used. For it has been tested against U-type Savonius turbine with two blades and three rotor blades, to determine the effect of rotor blade against rotation and torque and power that is able to produce. Test results showed that: At no load condition, the rotor blades savonius two starts spinning at a lower wind speed (0.5 m / s) and has a rotational speed higher than the three rotor blades at the same wind speed. Three blade Savonius rotor was started generating torque and power at lower wind speeds (1.8 m / s) than the two rotor blades and produces more power at the same wind speed. Power that can be raised Savonius rotor diameter of 40 cm and a height of 60 cm on average wind speed - average Indonesia (<4.5 m / s) was very small and unable to produce the expected energy. To take advantage of wind energy as wind power plant with a Savonius rotor type N, it is suggested that using a rotor with larger dimensions and the number of blades is more, according to the diameter of blade.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk hormon tanaman unggul dan ekstrak rebung terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang panjang (Vigna sinensis L.). Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari - April 2017, di rumah kaca FMIPA Universitas Negeri Medan jalan Willem Iskandar pasar V Medan. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua faktor yaitu pupuk hantu (P) dan ekstrak rebung (R) masing-masing menggunakan 4 taraf perlakuan. Jumlah kombinasi perlakuan adalah 16 dengan ulangan 2, sehingga jumlah unit percobaan adalah 32 percobaan. Dengan menggunakan ANAVA hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata jumlah daun,luas daun, jumlah bunga,jumlah buah, dan berat buah memiliki hasil yang berbeda dari masing-masing perlakuan. Untuk jumlah daun rata-rata paling tinggi terdapat pada perlakuan pupuk hantu 3ml/1L air dan ekstrak rebung 15 ml (P3R3) dengan jumlah 25buah, luas daun rata-rata paling tinggi pada perlakuan pupuk hantu 1 ml/1L air dan ekstrak rebung 0 ml (P1R0) dengan luas 32cm2, jumlah bunga tanaman kacang panjang yang memiliki rata-rata paling tinggi yaitu pada perlakuan pupuk hantu 3 ml/1L air dan ekstrak rebung 15 ml (P3R3) dengan jumlah 6,5buah, jumlah polong tanaman kacang panjang yang memiliki rata-rata paling tinggi yaitu pada perlakuan pupuk hantu 3 ml/1L air dan ekstrak rebung 15 ml (P3R3) dengan jumlah 8buah, dan berat polong kacang panjang yang memiliki rata-rata paling tinggi yaitu pada perlakuan pupuk hantu 3 ml/1L air dan ekstrak rebung 10 ml (P3R2) dengan nilai 289,85gr. Hasil dari pemberian pupuk hantu dan ekstrak rebung tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah bunga, dan jumlah buah, tetapi berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap berat buah tanaman kacang panjang. Kata kunci : Pupuk Hantu, Ekstrak Rebung, Tanaman Kacang Panjang.

Abstract

Study natural enemy Spodoptera Exigua was condetd on onion agro ekosistem in farmers field Sungai Nanam Alahan Panjang West Sumatera from August to October 2009. Methode of the Riset was with sampling with out sprayed and sprayed insecticide of served with each week from plant age 20 days in one planting season. In land with out application insecticide and application insecticide there were no eggs and larva were paraside. The Natural enemy in land area with aut application insecticide and application lend. The bigger from dominand were from family Braconidae ordo Hymenoptera, followed by family Aracnidae ordo aracnida, family Forficulidae ordo Demaptera, family Coccinelidae Ordo Coleoptera, family Braconidae Ordo Hymenoptera dan family Tachinidae Ordo Diptera
