Abstract

The purpose of this study were (1) describe the structure of drama texts Kau Tunggu Siapa Nilo Wisran Hadi work, (2) describe the symbols of the elements of literature contained in the text of the drama Kau Tunggu Siapa Nilo Wisran Hadi work, and (3) describe meaning of the symbols contained in the text of the drama Kau Tunggu Siapa Nilo Wisran Hadi work. The method used in analyzing the data are: (1) read and understand the contents of the text of the play in detail, (2) identify the structure of the text contained in the text, (3) inventarisation symbols contained in the text, (4) summarizes the symbols (symbol) and the meaning of the text contained in the drama. Based on data analysis, the conclusion that Drama Kau Tunggu Siapa Nilo Wisran Hadi works have text structure: (1) character, (2) events, (3) conflict, (4) flow, (5) and the background. There are some symbols found in Drama Kau Tunggu Siapa Nilo Wisran Hadi works with words and sentence structures that, if strung together would be similar to the shape of the structure of poetry. Symbols which are capable of clarifying the meaning of the text after the analysis using the approach that is research semiotik. Temuan symbols contained in the text of the drama.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the process and the resulting increase in the ability to write news VIII.1 grade students of SMP Negeri 20 Padang through concept maps techniques. The application of the concept map technique is expected to provide benefits to enhance the spirit of the students in writing news properly because of technical inquiry prefers a meaningful process rather than results. This research is action research, the research subjects were students of SMP Negeri 20 VIII.1 class Padang totaling 37 people, classroom action research is descriptive method research design class action include: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The data in this study in the form of a written test results of students, observation sheets, field notes and students´ questionnaire responses. Analyzing the data obtained by: (1) conduct preliminary observations on the ability to write news, (2) perform a test write news, and (3) complete a questionnaire. Furthermore, the data processed by classifying the qualitative and quantitative data and provide the results of student test scores. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded that the technique of concept maps in teaching writing can enhance students´ ability to write a story in class VIII.1 SMP 20 Padang with more than enough qualifications.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the form of inner conflict of main character in the novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye from the psychology of literature based on ego defense mechanism proposed by Ferdinand Zaviera, and (2) to describe the cause of inner conflict of main character in the novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye examined from the psychology literature. In this data of this research are forms and causes of inner conflict of main character in novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye. Sources of this research data was a text that describing inner conflict of the main character from novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye published by Republika Puslisher, 11th prints 11 November 2011 in Jakarta.

Abstract

Specifically, purposes of the research were: (1) to describe the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension without using the point strategy technique, (2) to describe the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension by using the point strategy technique, (3) to analyze the effectives of the point strategy technique in to the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension. The type of the research was quantitative research by using experimental method. Research findings provides that learning by using strategy point in experimental classroom was effective with average 70,4 in qualification more than enough. In contrast, control class in average 63,7 in qualification enough.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the results of the following descriptions. First, the ability to read critically VIII Junior High School students in grade 3 Pariaman. Second, the ability to write arguments class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman. Third, the relationship of critical reading skills with the ability to write arguments class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman. Data of this study, namely the ability to read critically VIII Junior High School students in grade 3 Pariaman and the ability to write arguments VIII Junior High School students in grade 3 Pariaman. The research data obtained through the test of critical reading skills and the ability to write arguments class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman. Data was collected using correlational research methods. The study´s findings that there is a significant relationship between critical reading skills with the ability to write arguments class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman. Difference is seen in the 0.05 significance level with degrees of freedom n-2 that is obtained is tcount ttable = 3.9832 and 1.70 in the sense tcount greater than ttable.

Abstract

The article aims to describe the use of different languages​​ by presenter infotainment Indosiar terms of accuracy and suitability choice of words. The research datais an extract speech language diversity in the television presenter infotainment KISS Indosiar, while that will be thesource ofthe data is KISS on television infotainment Indosiar. Data collected by recording technique andrecord engineering. The findings ofthe studyare, (1) variety of languageused by the presenter infotainment KISS in Indosiar are various casual, (2) appropriate selection of words seen by the useof synonyms, words of his own creation, and foreign words, (3) the suitability of the choice of words seen by the use of popular words, words of jargon and slang words.

Abstract

The purpose of research is to describes: (1) semantic competenty, (2) writing short story ability, and (3) the relationship between semantic and students class X SMAN 1 Lengayang, regency ability in writing short story. This research is quantitative research by using descriptive method. Population in this research is class X SMAN 1 Lengayang about 290 students. Sample is 15% from 290 students is 42 students by using random sampling technique. Based on the result of the research can be concluded: (1) semantic competency 66-75 % is more than enough. (2) writing short story ability about 66-75 % is more than enough. (3) there is positive relationship and significant between semantic competency and students ability in writing short story of class X SMAN 1 Lengayang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to (1) describe song spiritual structures indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu describe song spiritual structures indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman and (2 ) describe song physical structures indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. This observational type is observational kualitatif by methodics descriptive. Descriptive method to be utilized to describe song lyric structure indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Observational data collecting tech utilize recording tech to get song lyric indang . Besides recording tech also utilizes tech to note to describe of recording language goes to language to write. Base observational result get as follows been concluded.  First , Spiritual structure. Spiritual structure that exists in song lyric indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, which is theme, feel (feeling ), tone, and mandate.  Both of, physical structure. Physical structure that is revealed in song lyric indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, which is diction, imagination, say konkret, and figuratif´s language.

Abstract

The article aims to describe two things, which is: (1) reflection of social relationship inter figure in novel Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata, and (2) reflection of social relationship inter figure and other society in novel Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata. The data of this article is collected by read and mark that refers to reflections of social relationship interfigure in novel Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata. The results of this article are: First, the reflection and Social relationship among figure and other figure in novel Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata, which is (1) the social relationship between Ikal and A Ling ( coorporation), (2) the social relationship between Ikal and his Father (contradiction), (3) the social relasionship between Ikal and Enong (coorporation), (4) the social relasionhip between Ikal and Detective M. Nur (coorporation), and (5) the social relasionship between Ikal and Zinar (competition). Second,the reflection and social relationship inter figure in other society in novel Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata is relationship of coorporation.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explain the process and the improvement of learning outcomes argumentation writing skills aided brainstorming class X.1 SMA Negeri 2 Tebo that is viewed from four argumentation writing assessment indicators, that are make sure the reader, proof the turth, change the mind of reader, and show the fact. Based on the research’s results it can be concluded that the application of brainstorming can improve the process and learning outcomes argumentation writing skills of students of class X.1 SMA Negeri 2 Tebo. It can be seen in the significant average of mark. In preliminary observations (pre-cycle) the average is 39,16% then in first cycle is 52,67%, the second cycle is 75,67%.
