Abstract

This research has been conducted in the city of Pekanbaru , on Juni until Juli 2012. Thepurpose of this study was to determine the condition of the air quality in the city ofPekanbaru and the relationship between the number of motor vehicles with airconcentrations of Co2 emissions in the city of Pekanbaru. Abstract

This study aimes of determine the effect of mutagen Ethyl Methane Sulfonate (EMS) on upland local rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties at generation M-1. This research has been carried out at the Department of Agrotechnology Greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, in November to December 2013. The research used factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of two factors, namely two local rice varieties and five concentrations of mutagens EMS and four replications. The mean deviation between treatments tested by Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Parameters observed were time of first tiller appeared, lamina length, midrib length, seedling height, number of leaves, number of tillers, number of life seedling, the number of variegate seedling. Results indicated that the mutagen EMS at a concentration of 1%, reduced the number of first seedling appear, decreasing plant height, number of tillers and total life seeds.   Keywords: Upland rice, Ethyl Methane Sulfonate.

Abstract

Sansevieria is potentially as ornamental plants, anti pollutants and medicinal plants which requires development through effort propogation. The aim of the research was to find out the effect of NAA and BA and the combination both of them for the success and bud growth on cutting Sansevieria. The research by giving NAA and BA was conducted at Green House of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau, started from September 2013 to March 2014. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) which consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment were: A = without hormone, B = NAA 1 mg/l, C = BA 1 mg/l, D = NAA    1 mg/l + BA 1 mg/l and D = NAA 0,5 mg/l + BA 0,5 mg/l. Parameters observed were the survival percentage, percentage of root cuttings, number of roots, root length, root volume, percentage of bud growth, number of buds, bud length, number of leaf buds and number of bud roots. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and further tested by using Duncan’s new multiple range test level 5%. The result showed that the growth of cutting Sansevieria not affected by NAA and BA either as singular or the combination. The growth of cutting Sansevieria affected by physiology and endogen hormone.   Keywords: Sansevieria, cutting, plant growth hormone, growth

Abstract

Urban agricultural expanding on empty farm near in settlement and society activityplace which utilized to fulfill the urban society food. Usage of chicken dirt manure,chemical manure, pesticide must be doing to have a high vegetables production so thatadvantage was reached. Usage an abundant of manure and pesticide can contaminatethe environment. The experimental has done to analyzed management of urbanagricultural environment, and impact of urban agricultural on environmental biofisic.Management of urban agricultural environmet was doing by farmers got by asking withquesioner in random sampling, analyzed water and soil to find biofisic aspect with apurposive sampling on three point of water sample and two point of soil sample. Thequality of water sample compared to Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 82 Tahun 2001,while two point of soil sample was comparing. The result of this study shown that: thefarmer never use an urban biomass, manure composit and vegetation pesticide; usageof chemical manure and pesticide increasing nitrat (NO3) contains on agricultural landwater haved passed away the boundary sill and a very low of pH value.Keywords: urban, agricultural, management

Abstract

Sansevieria is a horticultural plant species origin from Africa, Arab and Indonesia. Sansevieria has economic value and good prospects. These opportunities should must be balanced with plant propagation. Propagation by cuttings of plants with growth regulators to support growth. The research  aims is to know the effect of NAA, BA and both combination that supports the growth of Sansevieria aubrytiana cuttings. This research was conducted in the Screen House, Plant Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from September 2013 to March 2014. This research was conducted experimentally completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments, with 3 replications. Data were analyzed of variance followed by Duncans new multiple range test level of 5%. Parameters observed were percentage of live cuttings, rooted cuttings percentage, the percentage of cuttings formed tillers and number of tiller. The results showed no effect of growth regulators on the success of cuttings and seedlings growth of Sansevieria aubrytiana. Keywords: Sansevieria, Cuttings, PGR.

Abstract

This research was conducted from April to October 2015 and located in a new landfill in the District of Rumbai Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study is to analyze the parameters of the landfill site selection based on SNI 03-3241-1994 and feasibility (in the environmental, social, and economic) in District of Rumbai as substitute final waste processing site Muara Fajar. This type of research is descriptive and comparative survey method. Data needs, including primary data obtained through filling the questionnaire by respondents and secondary data. The amount of sample is 19 respondents who were around the new landfill. Data processing is divided into processing of quantitative and qualitative data were processed using descriptive method. The data analysis technique used in this research is the analysis of quantitative and qualitative with the analysis method of scoring. Tassel feasibility of a new landfill site as substitute final waste processing site Muara Fajar, based on the criteria of SNI and the results of a critical analysis of SK SNI is feasible

Abstract

The aims of these research are ; 1) to analyze the economic value of Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Syarif Hasyim, consist of : log value, carbon value and reducing soil erosion value. 2) to analyze some alternatives policies to meet the sustainable management of Tahura Sultan Syarif Hasyim, Pekanbaru. The research was held on Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Syarif Hasyim, Pekanbaru from August to November 2014. The methode of research is survey and the analysist methode is descriptive kuantitative analysist. The primary data are collected with line plot sampling and soil sampling. The results show that the economic value of 2,412 ha (the remaining Tahura area covered by forest) are: log value IDR 2,434,799,820.00 year-1, carbon value IDR 18,718,898,525.19 year-1 consist: carbon sink value IDR 5,919,446,552.45 year-1 and carbon saturation value IDR 12,799,451,972.74 year-1. The reducing erosion value IDR 83,349,849,057.00 year-1. To optimalize the economic value, the policies are: 1) To restore the Tahura area directly into conservation forest with forest cover. 2) To restore the Tahura area gradually into conservation forest with forest cover and 3) To restore Tahura by collaborating management.

Abstract

Work as a palm oil mill worker is a job at risk of exposure to noise that exceeds the threshold value. The purpose of this study was to measure the intensity of noise on the occurrence of hearing complaints, psychological disturbances and Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) on workers and analyze the relationship of worker characteristics; age, length of service, use of Ear Protective Equipment (EPE) and knowledge of hearing complaints, psychological disorders and NIHL disorders. The research approach used in this research is survey method using cross sectional analytic research design with sampling using purposive sampling technique as many as 40 workers. Data were collected by measuring noise intensity, questionnaires and audiometry inspection. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analyzes were processed using Spearman test. The result of the research shows that there is a considerable noise hazard in the work environment of PT. GBI, while the potential impact experienced by workers due to noise in low risk levels. The relation between factory noise intensity and worker characteristic; age, working period, knowledge and compliance of EPE usage in general have no significant relation to the incidence of hearing complaints, psychological disorders and NIHL disorders in workers, except in the variable level of knowledge with psychological disorders have a significant relationship.

Abstract

The research aims to study the effect and to obtain the best dose of rice straw compost on the growth of the cocoa seedling. The experiment has been conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. from July to October 2016. The experimental unit was arranged in a completely randomized design (RAL), consisting of 6 treatments: 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125 g/seedling and replicated 3 times. Each experimental unit consisted of 3 seedlings. Parameters observed were seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, the ratio of the canopy and root and dry weight. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and the mean of each treatment was compared by using Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at level of 5%. The results showed that the dose of  rice straw compost could improve the seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, ratio of the canopy and root and dry weight. The dose of rice straw compost at 125 g/polybag produced the best growth of cocoa seedling. Keywords: cocoa seedling, rice straw compost dose

Abstract

This experiment aims to observe the effect of mutagen concentration of sodium azide to the germination and seedling growth performance of upland rice varieties Kulit Manis generation M-1 and the difference in seedling growth of upland rice varieties in Kulit Manis on the generation M-1 by application Sodium Azide some mutagen concentration. The experiment was conducted in an area behind the of Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from May to July 2015. Research was arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design, which consists of 5 treatments concentration of sodium azide (SA), ie (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 mM). The mean deviation between treatments tested by Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Parameters observed were the first count test, the soil emergence test and the percentage of life seedlings. The result showed that the concentration of Sodium Azide significantly effected on the first count test, the soil emergence test and life seedling percentage. Sodium Azide at the concentration of 2.0 mM produce the first count test, the soil emergence test and the lowest percentage of life seedling.Keywords:Upland rice, Sodium azide, Concentration
