Abstract

The  aim  of  this  experiment  was  to  analyse  chemical  composition  and  functional  properties  of  corn  starch  from various  corn  varieties  extracted  with  natrium  bicarbonat  solution.  Corn  kernels  of  N35,  Sticky  corn,  yellow  Srikandi  and yellow local varieties were processed into starch. The starch was extracted with 1% natrium bicarbonat solution (1:10 [w/v]).  Starch of commercial corn was used as a control. This experiment used Randomized Block Design with three replications. Results of this experiment indicated that the highest starch, amylose, fibre and free fatty acid contents were obtained at starch of yellow local variety; and the highest sugar, protein and lypide contents were found at yellow Srikandi variety, whilst the highest ash content was achieved at N35 variety. Starch of sticky  corn possessed the lowest amylose  content, but had the highest amylopectine content. The highest water absorbtion and solution rate were obtained at starch of yellow local variety.  Furthermore, the highest oil absorbtion rate was achieved at starch of sticky corn variety. Corn starch extracted with natrium bicarbonat solution had a lower quality compared to commercial corn starch, and therefore the corn starch recovered here apparently should not be recommended as a food source.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kondisi produksi likopen melalui proses perebusan dengan air bebas mineral atau aquades. Pencapaian tujuan telah dilakukan pemisahan likopen dari tomat afkiran menggunakan perlakuan pengaruh rasio air/tomat afkiran, pengaruh waktu, dan pengaruh suhu perebusan terhadap rendemen dan derajat kemurnian produk likopen. Derjat kemurnian likopen ditentukan menggunakan metode spektrofotometri.  Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan derajat kemurnian likopen dipengaruhi oleh rasio air/tomat afkiran, waktu dan suhu perebusan, sedangkan rendemen likopen hanya dipengaruhi ole h rasio air/tomat afkiran. Rendemen likopen tertinggi (2,91 %) terdapat pada penggunaan rasio air/tomat afkiran 1,5 : 1 (b/b), waktu perebusan 75 menit dan suhu perebusan 50 oC, sedangkan derajat kemurnian likopen tertinggi (68 %) terdapat pada  rasio  air/tomat afkiran  1,5 : 1 (b/b), waktu perebusan 75 menit dan suhu perebusan 80 oC

Abstract

This research aims to explore and determine the relationship between goods and services expenditures, capital expenditures,and equity funds. It also determines both simultaneous and partial impacts of goods and services, and capital expenditures on equity funds. Sample in this research consists of 33 governmental institutions in palu city, which is selected through purposive sampling technique, or selection based on ?jugment?. The data analyzed quantitatively with multiple linear regressions analysis. The result indicates that equity funds decreased due to spending on good and service and capital during one accounting period. Simultaneous test shows that good and service, and capital expenditure have significant  impact on equity funds in 33 govermental institutions. While partial test  evidences that espenditures partially have significant impact on equity  funds in 33 govermental institutions in palu. Coefficient determinant shows adjusted R-Square value of 0,782 that indicates that 78,20% of equity funds impacted by spending on goods and service, capital,  while the remining of 21,80% is impacted by other variables that are not studied.

Abstract

Biosurfaktan palmitin etanolamida diperoleh dari reaksi antara asam palmitat dan etanolamina dengan menggunakan katalis enzim lipase imobil getah pepaya dan pelarut organik n-heksan. Pengaruh enzim lipase dapat dianalisa dengan menggunakan katalis enzim lipase ekstrak getah pepaya yang telah diimobilisasi dan reaksi tanpa katalis sebagai pembanding. Telah dilakukan tiga variasi untuk mendapatkan kondisi optimum reaksi masing-masing adalah variasi waktu, konsentrasi enzim imobil dan rasio asam palmitat terhadap etanol amida. Dari ketiga variasi tersebut maka waktu 72 jam, 12,5% enzim imobil dan rasio 1 : 7 memberikan hasil yang optimal dan hasil dilihat dari besarnya bilangan ester yang diperoleh

Abstract

Research using maltodextrin as the coating in order to increase the shelf life of watermelon lycopene has been done. This study aims to estimate the shelf life of watermelon lycopene capsules in packaging with the addition of maltodextrin coating. Achievement of the goals has been the separation of lycopene from watermelon flesh, followed by drying the product of lycopene using solar dryers, extraction of pure lycopene lycopene separation using a solvent mixture of N coarse-Hekasana: Aceton with a ratio of 2: 1, followed by mixing pure lycopene with adsorbent maltodextrin with a ratio of 25: 75% and storage in an oven at 40 and 50oC. Lycopene levels are determined every 24 hours for 10 days using the spectrophotometric method. The resulting data is used to predict the shelf life of lycopene in capsule packaging. The results obtained indicate a shelf life of lycopene at 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60 ° C  are 631, 549, 478, 416, 362, 315, 276, 240, 209 and 181 days respectively.

Abstract

This research aim to determine rate of total phenolic and activity of antioxidant of ellipse and circular watermelon peel juice. Method which used in examination of rate total phenolic that is method of Folin_Ciocalteu and activity of antioxidant use method of DPPH. Result of which is obtained from examination rate of phenolic circularwatermelon peel heavily 1,4 kg is 18,702% and ellipse watermelon peel heavily is 1,9 kg is 19,168%. Activity of antioxidant with value of IC50 of circular watermelon 214,369 ppm and ellipse watermelon 376,266 ppm. Base on value of IC50, both of sample that mentioned appertained weak antioxidant.

Abstract

Study about the Utilization of corn cob waste (Zea mays) for Bioethanol production using immobilized yeast cells repeated used has been done. The aim of this research was to find both the ratio of sulfuric acid to corn cob wheat and the hydrolysis time in order to get the high sugars content, and to know the activity of the immobilized yeast cell for alkohol content during repeated use. It was done by apply  5 levels of surfuric acid (50%) ratio to corn cob wheat and 5 levels of hydrolysis. It was 1 : 1 (A), 2 : 1 (B), 3 : 1 (C), 4 : 1 (D), and 5 : 1 (E) based on v/b and 0,5; 1;  1,5;  2; and 2,5 hours respectively. The result showed that the best ratio of sulfuric acid to corn cob wheat was 5 : 1 (v/b), it produced the sugars content for about 41,63%. While the best hydrolysis time was 1,5 hours and it gaved 43,75% of sugars content. The sugar Fermentation was done in 48 hours. The activity of immobilized yeast cell using sulfuric acid hydrolysis product getting decreased in repeated used, and there was no alcohol producted at the fourth time of immobilized yeast cell used.

Abstract

The research about “The Production of Bioetanol in Corn cob waste (Zea Mays) of Resulting The Delignation Process”. The aim of this research  is to find out the highest weight of cellulose which contained in the corn cob waste. Then Cellulose which has been obtained, it was done on delignification process by using NaOH in variety of soaking time. To achieve the goal, then the application of the treatment effect of soaking time on corn cob waste powder on weight of cellulose was done. On the effect of soaking time on the powder of corn cob waste was applied   the six levels each 12 hours, 16 hours, 20 hours, 2 hours, 28 hours and 32 hours. Based on the result, it showed that the weight of cellulose is 5,729 g at 28 hours on soaking time. The use of soaking time which was applied for delignification process NaOH on the yield of cellulose. Cellulose of hydrolysis corn cob waste powder with H2SO4 10% and the result of fermentation of hydrolysis yeast cells immobilized. The level of glukosa is 43 % and 6 % for etanol. The result of sugar fermentation is done at the room temperature for 48 hours.

Abstract

This research was about the useofactive charcoal of the banana peel (Musa normalis) as adsorbent to degrade peroxide and free faty acid of the used cooking oil. The aims of thisresearch was to determine the best rasio of active charcoal of the banana peel as adsorbent, and the best concentration of NaOH as activator to reduceperoxideand free faty acid of the used cooking oil. This research used 5 level oftreatmentswhich based on CRD, the ratio variation were 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, 10.0 and 12.5 % and the concentrations of NaOH variation were 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1 and 2 N. The result showed that the best ratio was occurred in the 10.0 % and the concentration of 1 N NaOH. This value indicated that the banana peel was an adsorben, which can be used inincrease quality of the used cooking oil.
