Abstract

Malodorous gases emitted from natural rubber industries. At crumb rubber plant, leum storage emits high concentration of  ammonia that strength odor and dangerous to healthy workers. This research occurred to remove ammonia from leum storage using biofilter coloum 23L packed with mixed of top-soil, peat-rubber leaves and sludge. The result shows that this biofilters can remove ammonia  from inlet concentration at 4 - 20 ppm to  outlet concentration less than 4,7 ppm (average of 1,1ppm below regulation limit of 2 ppm). The biofilter packed with top soil performs  to ammonia removal efficiency average of 89% and ammonia-removal capacity at 0,36 g-N/kg-dry-material/d. The biofilter packed with mixed of top soil and rubber leaves performs  to ammonia removal efficiency average of 85% and ammonia-removal capacity at 0,60 g-N/kg-dry-material/d. The biofilter packed with mixed of top soil and sludge performs  to ammonia removal efficiency of 99% and ammonia-removal capacity at 0,36 g-N/kg-dry-material/d. The biofilter packed with mixed of top soil and sludge indicated the most stable on ammonia removal capacity and the lowest oulet ammonia at an average of 0.1 ppm.   Keywords:. Abstract

Langsat merupakan salah satu buah tropis yang bersifat klimaterik sehingga memiliki umur simpan yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi edible coating dengan penambahan ekstrak lengkuas merah pada karakteristik fisik kimia buah langsat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode dekstriptif dengan mengamati karakteristik fisik dan kimia buah langsat dengan edible coating meliputi warna, laju respirasi, total asam tertitrasi, tekstur, analisis total mikroba dan analisis susut bobot. Analisis karakteristik fisik hasil susut bobot menunjukkan bahwa dengan pelapisan edible dapat mengurangi terjadinya penurunan susut bobot, dapat mempertahankan tekstur buah dan pada warna buah yang dilapisi dengan edible dapat menghasilkan buah yang memiliki warna yang lebih gelap. Analisis karakteristik kimia buah langsat, bahwa pelapisan yang dilakukan pada buah langsat dapat mengurangi penurunan asam tertitrasi dan juga dapat menekan proses laju respirasi. Pada total jumlah mikroba pelapisan edible dapat meminimalisir kontaminasi pada kulit buah. Berdasarkan penelitian bahwa pada hari ke-6 terjadi respiraasi anerob yang menyebabkan tingginya laju respirasi, kadar TAT dan juga tingginya kelunakan yang terjadi pada buah yang tidak dilapisi dengan edible.

Abstract

PT Bimandiri Agro Sedaya is a non- manufacturing company ( services ) which operate in the field of trade as a supplier of fresh vegetables to retail. In December 2013, the fulfillment of the demand of red paprika, yellow paprika dan green paprika are 70,09 %; 70,24 %, 73,95 % respectively, so we need a method of accurately forecasting demand to estimate the demand of paprika early. The data is demand of red, yellow and green paprika commodities during September to December 2013. The results of pattern data analysis by least squares method and autocorrelation function shows that data have stationery pattern so used moving average method, single exponential smoothing and ARIMA. The result of MSE shows ARIMA metohd has the lowest MSE value for whole paprika. ARIMA method for red paprika, yellow paprika and green paprika are ARIMA (1,1,2) with MSE of 434,7;ARIMA (2,1,3) with MSE of 164,4 and ARIMA (1,0,1) with MSE of 321,9 respectively
