Abstract

This study aims to determine : (1) Preparedness of individuals to tsunamis in Puring SubDistrict Kebumen Regency (2) Preparedness of school comunity to tsunamis in Puring Sub-District Kebumen Regency (3) Preparedness of government to tsunamis in Puring Sub-District Kebumen Regency (4) Efforts made by individuals, school community, and goverment to improve tsunami preparedness in Puring Sub-District Kebumen Regency. This study is a qualitative study using a spatial approach. A sampling technique that Area Probability sample. Data were analyzed using index formula guides sourced from LIPI (2006) and elaborated descriptively. The results showed that (1) Preparedness of individuals included in the category of ready with an average index value of 67.06. (2) School community preparedness included in the category of ready with an average index value of 68.25. (3) Government preparedness included in the category of ready with an average index value of 68. (4) The efforts made by individuals to improve preparedness by following the socialization and simulation. Schools apply knowledge of disaster in the learning material, whereas the government conduct socialization to the public and coordination with the relevant parties. Abstract

The research conducted in the watershed of Samin is aimed to find out the function of the land area, the exploitation of the land, and the compatibility of the function of the land area with its exploitation. The research method applied in this research was survey method, by using land unit as the analysis unit. The population was 152 land units. The samples were taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by direct field observation and from the documentation. The analysis technique of this research was descriptive qualitative.             The result of the research shows that the exploitation for rice field was 48,63 %, settlement was 25,02 %, plantation was 11,12 %, non-irrigated field was 11,07%, bushes was 3,90% and river was 0,23%. The function of the Samin watershed area land consists of 10, 05 % shelter area function, 33,44% local shelter area function, 5,03% buffer area function, 5,05% perennial plants cultivation area function, and 46,42% seasonal plants cultivation area function and settlement. The exploitations of the actual area of Samin watershed which were improper with the function of land area were 10,05% in shelter area, 33,44% in local shelter area, 3,82% in buffer area, and 4,32% in perennial plants cultivation area.

Abstract

Hutan mangrove pantai Pasuruan telah terdegradasi baik luasan maupun diversitasnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) faktor-faktor penyebab degradasi hutan mangrove di Pantai Pasuruan, (2) Persepsi penduduk pesisir terhadap hutan mangrove dan (3) menemukan model pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan dan pelestarian hutan mangrove di daerah penelitian. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut dilakukan tiga langkah penelitian, pertama wawancara mendalam dengan tokoh-tokoh masyarakat untuk menentukan faktor penyebab kerusakan hutan mangrove, kedua wawancara dengan penduduk pesisir untuk mengetahui persepsi penduduk terhadap hutan mangrove dan ketiga dengan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) untuk mencari model pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan dan pelestarian hutan mangrove di pantai Pasuruan. Sampel ditentukan di tiga wilayah yang mewakili pantai bagian timur, bagian tengah dan bagian barat. Masing-masing wilayah diambil tiga desa dengan ketebalan hutan mangrove yang berbeda-beda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Penebangan liar dan alih fungsi hutan mangrove menjadi tambak merupakan faktor utama degradasi hutan mangrove di daerah penelitian disebabkan oleh kemiskinan dan kebodohan (2) Sebagian besar penduduk memahami fungsi ekologis hutan mangrove tetapi kurang dalam ”rasa memiliki”, (3) model pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan dan pelestarian hutan mangrove yang paling baik di pantai Pasuruan adalah model ”Sosio-eko-regulasi” yaitu keseluruhan pengambilan keputusan ditentukan oleh kelompok, peran pemerintah sebagai pendukung dana dan penguatan dalam bidang regulasi.

Abstract

This research case aims to determine (1) The spread of floods in the city of Surakarta in 2016; (2) Uncertainty factors that causing floods based on community perception in Surakarta City; (3) Individual and household preparedness levels in dealing with flood disaster in Surakarta City; (4) Implementation of science as a teaching material of geography in grade XI Senior High School on basic material of natural disaster mitigation.The research was conducted in Western City of Surakarta. The area assumed in Western City of Surakarta are Banjarsari district, Laweyan District, and Serengan District. Eligible samples consisted of 11 villages affected by flood in 2016, sampling of administrative unit using purposive sampling technique. The sample has been taken is the number of individuals / households in each ‘RW’ affected by floods in each villages, the number of samples is using snowball sampling technique. Data collection was done by documentation study, interview, questionnaire, and interview. Data validity test is done by data triangulation method. Data analysis is using Likert approach and LIPI preparedness measurement framework - UNESCO / ISDR.The results of the research are as follows: (1) flooding spread in eleven sub-districts in West Surakarta City which is divided into 3 regions based on administrative unit of analysis. Banjarsari District having local flood characteristics and submissions with elevation and duration of time falling into the low category. Laweyan District areas have local flood characteristics and postings with elevation and duration of time that falling into the low category. Serengan District has local flood characteristics and post with elevation and duration falling into the medium category; (2). Factors causing high flooding, garbage disposal, and flood control building conditions; (3) Individual and household preparedness studies in all villages are in a ready category;

Abstract

The research was aimed to: (1) define the students and teachers’ need toward flood-disaster learning multimedia; (2) develop flood-disaster learning multimedia based on Geographical Information System (GIS), and (3) find out the effectiveness of the developed media in improving the students’ ability in flood-disaster mitigation. The research used Educational Research and Development with three major stages, namely: Define, Design, and Develop. Define Stage consists of literature study and need analysis. Design Stage consists of product specification, material collection, product designing, and product validation. Develop Stage consists of field testing and product experiment. The setting of the research was in Surakarta district. The result of the research were: (1) from the need analysis, it could be revealed that 72% of the students stated that Geography was a boring subject, 69% of the teachers did not have any experience dealing with multimedia for teaching, and 85% of the students needed a more innovative Geography lesson; (2) the flood-disaster learning multimedia was designed in a form of text, animation, film, and map. The novelty of the proposed product was that more than 75% of the material in the developed product was collected through live-field recording, while the text and animation was originally designed by the researchers. The product consisted of several parts, namely: introduction, flood-disaster cause factors, types of flood, flood spatial, flood-disaster effect, and flood mitigation; and (3) experimental test was done to find out the effectiveness of the designed product in improving the students’ ability in flood-disaster mitigation, and the result showed that the product was effective.

Abstract

In the current era of IT advancement, innovation in the field of learning needs to be done. Besides improving the quality of learning, the use of IT in education can increase student interest in the subjects. This research is the analysis stage of developing Geography e-learning for Senior High School in Sragen Regency using ADDIE model. Data collection was done by interview using questionnaires toward 20 teachers and 416 students in 11 public and private Senior High Schools in Sragen Regency.The results of the analysis of geography teachers respons indicate that most of the geography teachers in Sragen regency were well-informed and had utilized IT in classroom learning, adding learning resources from the internet and other sources, willing to teach using e-learning, expecting e-learning material equipped with maps, imagery, video and animation which was developed. From the analysis of the students respons, students argued that most of the geography teachers in Sragen Regency had utilized the learning resources and learning media from the internet and use varied learning models. Nevertheless, there are 36% who think that geography lesson was boring and most students agreed to use e-learning for geography lesson. The main obstacle in e-learning lesson in Sragen regency was the availability of computer facilities and internet network, especially in private schools.Keywords: e-learning, readiness, geography, Senior High School

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) the level of the flood vulnerability in Puring Subdistrict of Kebumen Regency. (2) Referral flood disaster mitigation in Puring Subdistrict of Kebumen Regency. The method that used on this research is a descriptive survey method with spatial approach. The population are the entire land units and individuals on the Puring subdistrict, as well as the Government. Samples of the research are the unit of land, individuals who were affected by flood at 12 northern parts of the village in Puring Subdistrict, and Disaster Relief Agencies of Kebumen Regency. The number of its units is 7. The sampling technique a population, purposive sampling, probability sampling. The data collecting techniques were interviews, observation, and documentation. Triangulation was used for the validity of the data. Used the overlay and skoring parameters of flood vulnerability level, i.e. land form, the slope of the slopes, soils, and land use for the data’s analyzing. Referral flood mitigation is determined based on the level of vulnerability and those type of flood. The results of these research are (1) the level of flood vulnerability in Puring consists of 3 classes, such as: (a) the Very Vulnerable class includes 12 villages in up to of 2,190.98 ha (80,43%) area; (b) Vulnerable Class includes 7 villages that’s covering of 530.67 ha (19,48%) area; (c) Less Vulnerable Class consists of 1 village in 2.57 ha (0.09%) of the area. (2) Referral flood mitigation is divided into 4 types, i.e. Type I for very vulnerable and the flood of submissions, Type II for vulnerable level and type of flood of submissions, Type III for vulnerable level and the type of local flood, Type IV class is for less susceptible level and flood of submissions type. Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) Determine the spatial distribution of shallow groundwater salinity in Subdistrict Puring, District Kebumen 2016, (2) Knowing the public perception of the groundwater condition in the District Puring 2016, and (3) know the implementation of research results for high school geography learning material grade X curriculum 2013 This study used a qualitative method with a spatial approach. The technique of taking research subjects in this study using Transect Line Plots. The technique of collecting data using interviews, observation and analysis of secondary data. Analysis of the data in this study using the analysis of matching, and scoring. The results showed that: (1) Spatial Distribution shallow groundwater salinity in the Subdistrict Puring concentrated in the south or near the beach, it means getting closer to the sea, the higher salinity value. (2) The public perception of the condition of groundwater in the Subdistrict Puring, included in the medium classification, it's means that people have started to know if they are a potential area groundwater in their wells polluted and have a fairly high salinity values. (3) Implementation of the results of this study are presented in the form of learning modules Geography class X High School Curriculum 2013, which contains material on groundwater and salinity. Abstract

This research aimed to (1) determine the students’ needs upon the learning media development of interactive multimedia-based E-Learning (2) develop the learning media of interactive multimedia-based E-Learning in the material of hydrosphere dynamics and its impact toward life (3) determine the appropriateness of the developed learning media of interactive multimedia-based E-Learning (4) determine the effectiveness of the learning media of interactive multimedia-based E-Learning to improve the students’ learning outcome and spatial thinking ability. The method used in this research was research and development method using the development model developed by Dick and Carey. The data collection techniques used were questionnaire/needs analysis questionnaire, validation sheet of material expert, media expert, teacher, students’ try out questionnaire, test, and documentation. The learning media product development of interactive-multimedia-based E-Learning used Adobe Flash program designed and interactively-presented (self-service) and equipped with supporting materials in the form of pictures, maps, videos, and texts. The learning media of interactive-multimedia-based E-Learning was categorized as appropriate based on the evaluation of material expert and media expert who gave the score of 5 (a very good category in the Likert scale), and also the evaluation from teacher and students’ try out which had the score of 4 (good category in Likert scale). The learning media of interactive-multimedia-based E-Learning was more effective to improve the students’ learning outcome and spatial thinking ability based on the class mean which was higher in the pre-test and post-test results which was improved from 65,8 to 78,4 compared to the Power Point media in which the class mean of pre-test result was 64,4 and the post-test result was 75,2 while the students’ spatial thinking ability was improved especially in the region aspect. Keywords : E-Learning, Interactive Multimedia, Spatial Thinking Ability

Abstract

The study aimed to make a drill shooting exercise tool. The subjects in this study were two media experts, two futsal experts, and 40 futsal athletes for product testing. The technique of collecting data uses interviews, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses choices with a 1-5 Likert scale, which is very less, less, sufficient, right, and very good. The product effectiveness test gets a 20% increase in shooting practice and a 28% increase in the number of goals, meaning that the product is used. The product trial on stage 1 media experts gave an average score of 3.35 including the "good" category, and stage 2 gave an average score of 4.55 including "excellent" category. Product testing on futsal expert stage 1 gives an average score of 2.9 including the "good" category, and stage 2 gives an average score of 4.45 including "excellent" category. Small-scale product trials get an average score of 4.56 including "excellent" category. Large-scale product trials get an average score of 4,403 including "excellent" category. This study concludes that ABS SN has produced as a tool for futsal shooting drill practice, ABS SN is feasible and effectively used as a tool for drill shooting training in futsal athletes in Wonosobo Regency.
