Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a standard for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. Due to the LTE standard covers a range of many different bands in each country, therefore an antenna with more than one frequency bands become one of the most important needs in LTE antenna. In this paper, a novel triangular dual band MIMO (2x2) antenna with coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed is proposed to be used for LTE application. The proposed MIMO antenna is able to work in dual frequency that will be implemented in Indonesia at 1.8GHz and 2.35GHz. To obtain the optimum design, the characteristic of proposed antenna are numerically investigated through the physical parameters of antenna. The results show that proposed antenna has a compact size and a bandwidth of 100 MHz which is suitable for LTE application

Abstract

This paper analyses the performance of the signalling network No.7, based on its Grade OfService (GOS). Computer software is designed and employed, based on Visual Basic 6.0 tosimulate the Signalling Network System which is based on CCS No.7. The facilities of thissimulation software is so designed as to enable the user to change inputs, using differentvalues: number of nodes, average traffic, internode distance, routing, transmission medium,number of channel. This in turn would make it possible to analyse the efficiency of thenetwork and, hence the optimum performance desired.Keywords: Grade of Service (GoS), Routing, Message Signal Unit (MSU)

Abstract

CDMA merupakan suatu metode akses yang digunakan oleh teknologi komunikasi. CDMAmenggunakan teknologi spektrum tersebar. CDMA sekarang ini tidak hanya digunakanuntuk komunikasi suara saja, tetapi juga untuk data. Untuk itu TCP throughput memegangperanan penting dalam hal ini. Tetapi banyak pula masalah – masalah yang muncul, yangpaling serius adalah menurunnya performa throughput dan ketidaksamaan tiap throughputyang diterima user karena perbedaan yang mencolok dari koneksi RTT (Round Trip Times)yang dishare pada jaringan wireless yang sama.Telah banyak solusi yang diusulkan untukmeningkatkan performa TCP throughput, tetapi solusi-solusi tersebut tidak cocok untukjaringan wireless karena masih menghasilkan rugi-rugi transmisi. Pada paper ini, akandidemonstrasikan bahwa masalah ketidaksamarataan throughput dapat dipecahkan melaluimanajemen power (power control) yang sesuai. Secara khusus untuk mengatasi masalahtersebut, dalam paper ini akan coba diusulkan cara dengan membiarkan koneksi denganRTT yang lebih panjang dan dengan power yang lebih besar. Dengan begitu, solusi inidiharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesamarataan throughput tiap user. Evaluasi dari performaakan dilakukan dengan NS2 Simulator. Secara khusus, dapat dibandingkan dengan solusisolusistandard wireless CDMA, solusi ini dapat menjamin lebih baik throughput TCP yangdihasilkan dan keseimbangan throughput tersebut.Keywords: Sistem Komunikasi, Jaringan Informasi, Analytical and Numerical Simulation

Abstract

The very high necessity of information force the development of information technologyespecially internet. Nevertheless, POTS still cannot satisfy their customers. The main factorwhich cause this problem is the internet access speed limitedness. Besides the telephone calland internet access must be used by turns. MMA offers high speed internet access by usingADSL lite technology and ATM to support various of multimedia applications. MMA alsoenable to use internet access and telephone simultaneously without need new customers’line.As a service which offers high speed internet access, so in this paper some experimentsof MMA access speed have been done. Abstract

The indoor penetration manifested as macro cell system which is the extension of outdoorsignalling into indoor premises, can be implemented both by High Speed Downlink PacketAccess (HSDPA) and Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) as well in thearea of 3.5G related application. The significant parameters being used in this researchwere Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) and Received Signal Code Power (RSCP).The results showed that for data down linking operation the EIRP 58 dBm and the RSCP -69.94 dBm for WCDMA, while the EIRP 56 dBm and the RSCP -71.64 dBm for HSDPA.Furthermore, the drive test results showed for HSDPA running File Transfer Protocol (FTP)application the RSCP -92.2 dBm with throughput ≈2,0Mbps, while for running Hyper TextTransfer Protocol (HTTP) application the RSCP -95 dBm with throughput ≈1.9Mbps. Abstract

Currently, Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology was not only utilize for voicecommunication, but for data communication too. TCP throughput get important role in thiscase. Frequently, performance and unfairness index throughput which is accepted user area serious problem in the CDMA network. This paper describe about solution of unfairnessthroughput’s problem. From simulation results, index fairness every user approach one (1)with let more RTT connection so long and power control. Abstract

Fiber attenuation caused by chromatic dispersion and modal dispersion is commonlyreferred to as a dispersion power penalty. In the wave transmitted by transmitter, dispersionoccurred, caused degradation of signal quality, so that the signal receiver is not as good aswhich is being transmitted. In this paper will be discussed about the impact of dispersionpower penalty in ring-1 STO Gatot Subroto area. Analysis was done to several factors thatcan cause dispersion power penalty, which are distance, wavelength, and data rate beingused. The calculation with available data and specification has been done, so that the routeswith the biggest and the smallest dispersion power penalty can be detected. The biggestdispersion power penalty happened in Palma Citra – Umawar route at distance of 9.387 kmwith  =1550 nm and data rate 622.08 Mbps. While the smallest was 1.221 7 10  dB,happened in Tifa – STO Gatot Subroto route at distance of 1.626 km with =1310 nm anddata rate 155.52 Mbps. All those calculations were still in permissible limit, not more than 2dB. Furthermore from some routes were obtained very small dispersion power penalty. Thebigger the fiber length and data rate, the bigger the dispersion power penalty is. Finally itcan be concluded that fiber length, wavelength, and data rate are equivalent to thedispersion power penalty.Keyword: fiber optic, dispersion, Synchronous Digital Hierarchy

Abstract

Abstract

Free Space Optics (FSO) as Data Communication System technology contribute positivelynot only to its users but also to its operators. It is regarded as the development of infraredcommunication that can overcome some drawbacks of wireless data communication such aslosses. This study concerns the implementation of Free Space Optics for cross connectedbuildings with the calculation of link margin factor to determine exactly the resultingperformance under different kinds of weather: sunny, moderate rain and heavy rain. Theresults shown are those for the distance of 35.66 m. The obtained attenuation factors are asfollows: -0.0078452 dB in sunny weather, -0.0156904 dB in light rain; and -0.1412136 dB inheavy rain. These results are still less than the link margin of 32.2228 dB, which means thatFree Space Optics is good enough to be implemented. The result also showed that for thedistance of 118.79 m, the attenuation factor is -0.4704084 dB in heavy rain and still lessthan the link margin of 22.5524 dB. It means that Free Space Optics can be implemented forline of sight communication.Keywords: Free Space Optics (FSO), link margin, weather, attenuation factor
