Abstract

In the globalization era, the mastery of foreign language especially English as an international language is compulsory. Nowadaysin Indonesia, English is taught at primary Scholl or even in the kindergarten. The objective of this paper is to discuss the children’slearning, particularly from the side of cognitive psychology in learning English as a second language. The phenomena are theadvantages and disadvantages of children who do not learn and learn English as a second language or called monolinguals vs.Bilingualism. The method used library study and the data collected was analyzed descriptively. It is important to note that (1) theelementary school childrens cognitive development is suitable for language learning, (2) There is the advantages to study foreignlanguage at the primary school.(3) The bilingual person is more advantageous than the monolingual person. It is expected that thispaper could be as an insight to see that there are phenomena behind the facts, as a reference to be used as an alternative.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop sex education books that have valid, feasible, and effective criteria used to convey sex education. The book development model uses the Borg and Gall development model, namely information gathering, planning, development of initial product drafts, expert testing, small scale testing, field testing, and dissemination and implementation. Based on the test of media, material, and psychologist experts, it was concluded that the sex education book fulfilled valid criteria. Then in the small-scale test it was concluded that the sex education book could be accepted and changed the way students view sex education. Sex education books can be used in field- scale tests with more populations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of sex education in learning to the sexual violence behavior of students in 6th grade at SDN Utan Kayu Selatan 23 Pagi, East Jakarta. This research includes quantitative research. The population of this research is 30 students of 6th grade. The sample of this study were taken using a saturated sampling technique. Data collected by questionnaire. The data were analyzed using product moment correlation test and significance test. Through product moment correlation test obtained r value of 0.29. It can be stated that the relationship between sex education and the sexual violence behavior of students has a positive but low relation. The coefficient of determination obtained from the calculation is r2 = 29%. This shows that sex education variable contributes 29% to sexual violence behavior in 6th grade students of SDN Utan Kayu Selatan 23 East Jakarta, while 71% is contribution from other factors such as home environment. From the calculation of significance test coefficient obtained tcount> ttable (1.759 > 1.697), it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between sex education on sexual violence behavior.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model Brain Based Learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Metode penelitian adalah quasi eksperimen dengan Posttest-Only Control Design Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas V sebanyak 60 siswa yang terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa kelas control. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh.. Analisis data menggunakan Uji T. Sebelum uji hipotesis dilakukan uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Hasil kedua uji tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kelas control dan kelas eksperimen terdistribusi normal dan homogeny. Berdasarkan hasil uji T dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengarus Brain Based Learning model terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa.

Abstract

MEREDUKSI MISKONSEPSI MAHASISWA MATERI OPTIK GEOMETRI MAHASISWA MELALUI PENERAPAN POGIL (PROCESS ORIENTED GUIDED INQUIRY LEARNING)AbstractMisconception becomes one of the causes of understanding students' concepts to be incompatible with scientific concepts. The purpose of this research is to know the application of POGIL model (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) in reducing misconception of PGSD UHAMKA student in optical geometry subject. The design of this research is experimental research in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this research is 3rd year PGSD UHAMKA students who follow the course of physics basic concept. The sample of this research is taken by using purposive sampling as many as 34 students. Data were collected using a written test. The written test used is a multiple-choice, three-tiered diagnostic test. The data of this research were analyzed by analysis of test scans, interpretation analysis of diagnostic tests, misconception rate analysis, and analysis of misconception reduction. Misconception level analysis uses percentages that fall into low, medium, and high categories. The analysis of misconceptions decreased by using the comparison test of student misconceptions scores on pretest and posttest. The highest misconception experienced by students is 49% medium criterion and occurs in indicators understand the process of refraction of light and associated magnitudes. The lowest misconception of 21% with low criterion occurs in the indicators to understand the process of shadow formation in a concave mirror. The mean decrease in misconception of PGSD students after POGIL learning was 8.954%. These results indicate that POGIL can reduce student misconceptions although it is in small category. AbstrakMiskonsepsi menjadi salah satu penyebab pemahaman konsep mahasiswa menjadi tidak sesuai dengan konsep ilmiah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan model POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) dalam mereduksi miskonsepsi mahasiswa PGSD UHAMKA materi optik geometri. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen berupa One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PGSD UHAMKA Semester 5 yang mengikuti mata kuliah Konsep Dasar Fisika. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dengan meggunakan purposive sampling sebanyak 34 mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes tertulis. Tes tertulis yang digunakan berupa tes diagnostik pilihan ganda tiga tingkat. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis penskoran tes, analisis interpretasi tes diagnostik, analisis tingkat miskonsepsi, dan analisis penurunan miskonsepsi. Analisis tingkat miskonsepsi menggunakan prosentase yang termasuk dalam kategori rendah, sedang, dan tinggi. Analisis penurunan miskonsepsi menggunakan uji gain perbandingan skor miskonsepsi mahasiswa pada pretest dan posttestnya. Miskonsepsi tertinggi yang dialami oleh siswa sebesar 49 % berkriteria sedang dan terjadi pada indikator memahami proses pembiasan cahaya dan besaran-besaran yang terkait. Miskonsepsi terendah sebesar 21% berkriteria rendah terjadi pada indikator memahami proses pembentukan bayangan pada cermin cekung. Rata-rata penurunan miskonsepsi mahasiswa PGSD setelah pembelajaran POGIL sebesar 8,954%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa POGIL dapat mereduksi miskonsepsi mahasiswa meskipun tergolong kecil.

Abstract

One of the basic abilities in learning mathematics is the ability of students to understand mathematics. Mathematical comprehension ability will develop other mathematical abilities, including communication, connection and problem-solving abilities. To be able to hone students 'mathematical abilities, a learning model is needed that is appropriate to the students' character and the material being taught. One learning model that can improve student learning outcomes is the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Subjects in this study were fifth grade in Elementary School. The instruments used in this study were tests and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. Based on the analysis of research data, it is concluded that CTL can improve the ability of mathematical understanding of fraction concept for elementary students. Thus, the use of CTL learning models can be used as an alternative learning to be applied to learning mathematics in elementary school especially on learning concept of fractions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar mata kuliah Konsep Dasar IPA 1 materi Fotosintesis pada tumbuhan dalam bentuk m-learning berbasis Android untuk mahasiswa PGSD, serta mengetahui kualitas produk ini yang telah dihasilkan sehingga layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran mata kuliah Konsep Dasar IPA 1. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan dua tahap, yaitu observasi dan metode Research and Development (R&D). Metode observasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran di dalam kelas dan penggunaan smartphone mahasiswa saat di dalam kelas. Metode (R&D) atau penelitian dan pengembangan yang diadaptasi dari model pengembangan ADDIE digunakan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi m-learning. Aplikasi ini diujicobakan kepada 71 mahasiswa PGSD semester II FKIP UHAMKA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar Fotosintesis dalam bentuk m-learning berbasis Android yang telah dikembangakan berdasarkan ahli materi didapatkan skor persentasi sebesar 80,95% dengan kategori baik, selanjutnya hasil validasi oleh ahli media didapatkan skor persentase sebesar 77,94% dengan kategori baik. Uji coba dilakukan pada mahasiswa PGSD UHAMKA yang pertama pada kelas 2D didapatkan hasil kualitas media pembelajaran sebesar 90,54% dengan kategori sangat baik. Selanjutnya di kelas 2E didapatkan hasil kualitas media pembelajaran sebesar 94,73% dengan kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil perolehan data menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan bahan ajar Fotosintesis dalam bentuk m-learning berbasis Android layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar mahasiswa PGSD.
