The research in this thesis was done to examine the model of traffic flow of volcanic disaster evacuation path for uphill and downhill roads. The assessment was focused on the area of disaster evacuation path from the Pante Raya Bener Meriah intersection to Takengon. This model is assessed for two different types of time when which a disaster occurs; the disaster occurred at night and the disaster occurred during the day, especially during peak hours (working hours). The model was developed with attention to the exixtence of inflow and outflow along the evacuation route. Furthermore, the model obtained is solved numerically by using finite difference method. The chosen approach of this method is upwind scheme with time and space steps using forward difference and backward difference. The solution of this model in the form of simulated vehicle density along evacuation pathways. The research conducted is in the form of a model of traffic flow on evacuation paths and restricted to the inflow and outflow without alternative path as well as the conditions of the road which are uphill and downhill, showed a high density of vehicles either at night or during the day. Uphill road conditions resulted in decreased vehicle speed and vehicle density will increase, while downhill road conditions resulted in increased vehicle speed and vehicle density will decrease, meaning that the road conditions which are uphill and downhill will greatly affect the process of evacuation. Degree vehicles of evacuation efficiency occuring at night without an alternative pathway produces a high efficiency so that it can be interpreted that the evacuation process in the evening was successful and runs better than the evacuation process during the day, and this is caused by the existence of vehicles on the roadÂ evacuation process started thus affecting the efficiency levels.Â Keywords : Traffic flows, finite difference method, upwind scheme method, forward difference, backward difference, greenshield method, uphill road, downhill road.

The mathematical ability that should be owned by the students as stated by the NCTM, namely (1) learn to communicate; (2) learn to reason; (3) learn to solve problems; (4) learn to associate ideas; (5) learning to represent ideas. By having the ability mathematical understanding, students are able to explain the relationship between concepts and is able to communicate ideas with symbols, tables, diagrams, or other media to clarify the issue and was able to solve the problems. It is thus necessary that the proper application of learning models to improve the understanding and communication of mathematical students is one model of cooperative jigsaw. This study aims to determine the increase in the ability of students mathematical understanding and communication that derive jigsaw cooperative learning with students who received conventional teaching students to be reviewed as a whole and by the beginning of students mathematical abilities. This research used experimental design with pretestposttest control group design. Samples selected by random sampling consisted of two classes, namely classes and class XMIA5 XMIA2. Collecting data using test instruments mathematical understanding and communication capabilities that pretest and posttest in the second grade. hypothesis testing using ttest, t test "and Mann Whitney test with a significance level of 0.05. Based on the results of data analysis is concluded that, overall, students increase their understanding and mathematical communication abilities of students who obtain a type of cooperative learning jigsaw better than students who received conventional learning. Judging from the initial ability of students mathematical (a) Increasing the ability of understanding mathematical group students of high, medium and low gain type of cooperative learning jigsaw better than a group of students of high, medium and low who obtain conventional learning, (b) Improved communication capabilities mathematical student group medium and low gain type of cooperative learning jigsaw better than a group of students of high, medium and low who obtain conventional learning.

Abstract. To increase and improve PISA rankings (Programme for International of Student Assessment) of Indonesian students not only starts from the students, but also teachers and prospective teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students as prospective teachers to solve problems of highlevel PISA (most difficult) is level 5. This study was a descriptive study using a qualitative approach to describe the ability of each student in solving PISA question. The subjects were students taking the Teaching Mathematics I course of Mathematics Education Program FKIP Unsyiah. Data analysis in qualitative research based on the results of the data collection process in the form of field notes, documentation, and interviews. Assessment conducted on students ability to solve problems using the PISA assessment rubric. Furthermore, the score obtained is converted into the interval level of ability. The results showed only one student (14,28 %) of the seven students who have an excellent ability to resolve the matter appropriately. Meanwhile, three students (42,85 %) experienced only a mistake on the problems at the problem of the distance down. However, the ability of the three students vary based on the accuracy of the analysis in solving aspects. For the third ability of other students (42,85 %) were still low due to the settlement of questions that do not quite right with the ability to be at sufficient levels. Based on the results of this study are expected each faculty can use international issues as a matter of PISA in learning, so that students get used to solve the problems of nonroutine to improve their ability to understand and solve problems, which can contribute to the future of teaching practice.Â Keywords: PISA, most difficult level, students as prospective teachers

This paper discuss the impact of dispersion and nonlinear terms combinations the surface wave equation particularly on the peaking phenomena of the wave water that initially in the form of a bichromatic wave. The study for both of these terms are focused on the position where the bichromatic wave experience its highest peaking and its related bichromatic amplitude amplification. In the previous study, the position where the bichromatic wave experience its highest peaking is of orderÂ Â and its bichromatic amplitude amplification is of order , where Â and Â are the amplitude and frequency of the bichromatic wave envelope, respectively. This result is based on the fifth order Korteweg de Vries (KdV) equation and the quantity that obtained is called Maximal Temporal Amplitude (MTA). However, despite the the position where the bichromatic wave experience its highest peaking suits the resultÂ of Stansberg experiment and the result of numerical calculation using HUBRIS, its related bichromatic wave amplitude amplification is not close enough. The source of this discrepancy is suspected from the dispersion and nonlinear terms of the KdV equation used. This study shows that the existence of the dispersion and nonlinear terms influences the position ofÂ Maximal Temporal Amplitude (MTA) and its bichromatic wave amplitude amplification.Â For the coefficient of dispersion term of 1.0065 andÂ nonlinear term of , the position of MTA and bichromatic wave amplitude amplification suits the result of Stansberg experiment and the result of numerical calculation using HUBRIS

This study aims to determine solution of Boussinesq equation which is approximated by using asymptotic expansion method. Nonlinearity of Boussinesq equation causes the solution is not easily determined, so the solution is approached through its linearity. This method is in the form of power series expansion up to thirdorder, where each term of the series is linear. Furthermore, the finding solution is compared with the solution that was found by Mohyud in previous study. The result of this comparison showed that there were similarities of the two solutions. However, differences occur in phase as modeled in the solution of each method

The ability of representation is one of the important components to develop students thinking skills, because this capability is instrumental in helping students to transform abstract ideas into real idea and it can train students to improve problem solving skills with a variety of forms including pictures, diagrams, mathematical expressions, or words or written text. One model of learning that increases the ability of the mathematical representation is a learning model of problembased learning. This research aims to: 1) determine a mathematical representation increased ability of students taught with problem based learning models 2) the interaction between the learning model of problembased learning and grouping of students to increase the ability of the mathematical representation. This research is a quantitative research with an experimental method, that has pretestposttest group design. The population was all students of class X SMA UnggulPidie Jaya by samples of two classes, namely class X3 as an experimental class and class X2 as the control class. The data collection was done by using test. Then analyzed by t test and ANOVA at the 0.05 significance level after testing prerequisites are met. Based on the analysis we can conclude that: 1) to improve the mathematical representation of students who applied learning model of problem based learning is better than an increase in the ability of the mathematical representation of students who received conventional learning. 2) there is no interaction between the learning model and grouping of students to increase the ability of mathematical representation.

Mathematical reasoning ability and selfregulated learning is one of the objectives of the mathematics learning that should be owned by the students. It is needed relevant learning approaches to develop and improve mathematical reasoning ability and selfregulated learning. One of the learning approaches is Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The purpose of this study was to determine: the improvement of mathematical reasoning ability and selfregulated learning of students who obtain CTL approach and students who receive conventional learning. This study was an experimental research study designed by pretestposttest control group design. The population of this study was all students of class VII MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh. While the sample was composed of two classes, namely the experimental class and control class taken by random sampling. The instruments used to obtain research data were the form of mathematical reasoning ability tests and questionnaires of students learning independence. To see the difference in mathematical reasoning ability and selfregulated learning between CTL approach classesand conventional classes used the ttest at the 0.05 significance level. Based on this research, it was known that 1) the improvement of mathematical reasoning ability of studentsacquire learning CTL approach better than students who received conventional learning approaches; 2) the improvement of studentâs independence learning gained CTL approach better than received conventional approaches. CTL approach in learning can affect the better ability of mathematical reasoning and selfregulated learning, in terms of quality there was a significant difference between students who are learning using CTL approach and using conventional learning.

Abstract. Communication skills and mathematical reasoning is one of the objectives of the study of mathematics. Communication is defined as the ability to write, read, listen, examine, interpret, and evaluate ideas, symbols, terms, and mathematical information. Mathematical reasoning is a habit when the brain is well developed and consistent will facilitate the mathematical communicate both written and oral. Therefore, the necessary relevant learning models to optimize, improve, and develop communication and mathematical reasoning abilities of students. One of the cooperative learning models is Teams Games Tournament (TGT). The aim of this study to determine: (1) Is the increase in communication and mathematical reasoning abilities that students acquire learning with cooperative learning model TGT better than students who received conventional learning approaches, and (2) What is the attitude of students towards learning mathematics learning gain with cooperative learning model TGT. This research was experimental research design with pretestposttest control group design. The population in this study was all students of class XI MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar, which consists of five classes. While the sample was composed of two classes of experimental classes and control classes were taken by random sampling. The instrument used to obtain research data communications test and mathematical reasoning ability, and attitude scale questionnaire. The statistical test used for the data mengalisis increase communication skills and mathematical reasoning was two lanes ANOVA test, while the attitude scale questionnaire was calculated based on a percentage. The results showed that the overall improvement of communication and mathematical reasoning abilities that students acquire learning with cooperative learning model Teams Games Tournament better than students who received study with conventional approaches. From the results of student questionnaire concluded that in general the students had the positive attitude towards learning mathematics using cooperative learning model TGT.Key Word: Learning TGT, Communication, Reasoning

The purpose of this study was to determine between increased ability to think creatively and mathematical communication students who take the learning projectbased learning and students who received conventional learning. The research sample was taken randomly. The instrument used was a test form of essay questions given in pretest and posttest to see an increase, as well as about the student activity sheet that would be a reference in the debate. Based on statistical data analysis using ttest showed that the increase in the ability to think creatively and communication students acquire mathematical learning projectbased learning was better than students who received conventional learning. Based on the analysis statistical data by using the TwoWay ANOVA showed that there was no interaction between the model of learning by the students ability level to increase the ability of creative thinking and mathematical communication students

The low achievement on studentsâ mathematical comprehension and reasoning was still low due to the informational pattern of material in mathematics has been delivered to students informatively which means students get the information only from the teacher, so studentsâ mathematical ability also low. The purpose of this research was to examine the differences of comprehension ability and mathematical reasoning between students who learned mathematics through contextual learning and students who learned through conventional approach. Design for this research was pretestposttest control group design. To obtain the research data, comprehension ability and mathematical reasoning test were used as the instrument. This research conducted at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Model Banda Aceh. The population of this study was all students at grade VIII while samples were chosen from 2 of 11 of grade VIII by purposive sampling. The data analysis was done quantitative way. Quantitative analysis conducted on the normalized average gain between two samples by using ttest. The result showed that overall learning mathematics by using contextual learning treatment can encourage students; comprehension ability and mathematical reasoning ability. Learning mathematics by contextual learning approach significantly better in encourage the studentsâ comprehension ability and mathematical reasoning than using conventional approach. Learning by contextual approach can be a good alternative learning approach that can be implemented in Junior High School
