Abstract

Galing (Cayratia trifolia L.) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan liar yang mayoritas terdapat di Asia Tenggara, termasuk Indonesia. Galing secara empiris telah banyak digunakan untuk mengobati berbagai macam penyakit. Hampir semua bagian dari tumbuhan galing dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai obat tradisional. Beberapa penelitian telah dilakukan untuk membuktikan aktivitas farmakologis dari tumbuhan galing. Oleh karena itu, tinjauan ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan informasi mengenai tumbuhan galing, baik secara biologi, fitokimia maupun aktivitas farmakologisnya.Kata kunci: Herbal, galing, Cayratia trifolia, obat tradisional, farmakologi

Abstract

Mangrove areas of Jaring Halus village have the potential of fish resources. Fish found in mangrove ecosystems, both settled and just transit to spawning and nursery will increase biodiversity in these ecosystems. This study aims to determine the diversity of fish species found in the waters of the mangrove areas of Jaring Halus village Langkat District. Sampling was done 3 times in December 2016 - January 2017 with an interval of 2 weeks for a period of two months. Fish samples obtained by using nets to catch fish (Fixed Gill Net) that is attached to the stake. Total fish species were obtained as many as 19 species of fish belonging to the 8 orders, 14 families, and 16 genera. Fish from Family Mugilidae and Ambassidae and Gobiidae always found in every station and at every time of data collection. In station 1 found 12 species, station 2 found 10 species and station 3 found nine types. The first sampling was obtained 11 species of fish, the second sampling found 15 species of fish. In the third sampling found 14 species of fish. The fish was dominated seriding fish (A. buruensis) of family Ambassidae, anchovy spikes (S. heterolobus) of family Engraulidae, and mullets (V. Engeli) of family Mugilidae and Mudskipper (P. Kaloko) of family GobiidaeKawasan perairan mangrove Desa Jaring Halus memiliki potensi sumberdaya ikan. Ikan yang terdapat pada ekosistem mangrove, baik yang menetap atau hanya transit untuk melakukan pemijahan serta memelihara anakannya akan menambah keanekaragaman hayati pada ekosistem tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman jenis ikan yang terdapat pada perairan kawasan mangrove. Sampling dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali yakni pada bulan Desember 2016 – Januari 2017 dengan interval kurun waktu 2 minggu selama 2 bulan. Sampel ikan diperoleh dengan cara menangkap menggunakan jaring ikan (Fixed Gill Net) yang ditancapkan dengan pancang. Total jenis ikan yang diperoleh sebanyak 19 jenis ikan yang termasuk ke dalam 8 ordo, 14 famili, dan 16 genus. Ikan dari Famili Mugilidae dan Ambassidae serta Gobiidae selalu ditemukan pada setiap stasiun dan pada setiap kali pengambilan data. Pada stasiun 1 ditemukan 12 jenis, stasiun 2 ditemukan 10 jenis dan stasiun 3 ditemukan 9 jenis. Sampling pertama yang dilakukan diperoleh 11 jenis ikan, sampling kedua ditemukan 15 jenis ikan. Pada sampling ketiga ditemukan 14 jenis ikan. Ikan yang mendominasi adalah ikan seriding (A. buruensis) dari family Ambassidae, ikan teri paku (S. heterolobus) dari family Engraulidae, dan ikan belanak (V. engeli) dari family Mugilidae dan ikan gelodok (P. kaloko) dari family Gobiidae.

Abstract

Mutiara 88 beach is located in the Kota Pari village, Sub District of Pantai Cermin, Regency of Serdang Bedagai. Mutiara 88 beach is ± 43 km from the provincial capital city and ± 25 km from the district capital. This study aims to know potensial the Mutiara 88 beach, analyze the suitability index of Mutiara 88 Beach tourism and analyze the carrying capacity of the mutiara 88 beach for the beach tourism activities and to know the tourists and citizen’s perception about the ecological quality of the Mutiara 88 beach. This research used the Purposive Sampling and Accidental Sampling method. Mutiara 88 beach has the very suitable index (S1) for catagory swim, parasailling, expose, volleyball and recreation and for catagory banana boating and fishing has suitable index (S2). The beauty value of Mutiara 88 Beach is 62% (quite beautiful) and the comfort value of Mutaiara 88 beach is 64% (comfortable enough). The carrying capacity of the Mutiara 88 beach can accommodate 240 tourists every day. Abstract

Anchovy (Stolephorus spp.) is an abundant fishery resources in the watersof Indonesia. These fish include small pelagic fish. Until now, studies on thepopulation dynamics of anchovy is still low, especially in Belawan waters. Thisstudy aims to determine the aspects of growth and the rate of exploitation ofanchovy. Location of research conducted around Aquatic Belawan. Anchovytaken as much as 0.001% of catches depending on the abundance of each monthby taking 1-month intervals for 12 months. Analysis of data using a supportprogram Ms. Exel and software FISAT II Ver 1.1.0. The results showed that thelength of anchovy were captured during the study ranged 24.5-26.5 mm. Growthtype of anchovy is allometric positive. Factor in the range of conditions0.030396–0.318734. Alleged growth coefficient 0.890/year, maximum length(L∞) 39.18 mm and the theoretical age at the time of the fish length is equal tozero (t0) is -0.60. Total mortality 4.760, mortality catching 3.199 and naturalmortality 1.560. The rate of exploitation is 0.68 who is alleged to have occurredoverexploitation. This information can be used as the basis of the managementalternative arrangements fishing season, restrictions on catches, setting the meshso that the fish remain stable.Keywords: Anchovy, Pattern Growth, Exploitation, Management.

Abstract

The Siombak lake is an artificial lake that formed as a result of sanddredging activities. The Siombak lake is near with the coast and influencedby ups and downs. The purpose from this study is to known themorphometry aspects of Siombak lake and to known the condition of theSiombak lake waters. This study was conducted over three months themonth of May to July 2014 in the waters of the Siombak lake, Paya PasirWards, Medan Marelan sub district, Medan City. The methods of research indata collection of morphometry is decisive for retrieval. The dimensionalsurface measurement is done by surrounding the periphery of the lake byusing a GPS (Global Positioning System) device. The subsurfacedimensional measurement carried out by measuring the depth of the topeweight scale that helped with the small ship. In the water sampling donethree time at five stations. Based on the results obtained, the Siombak lakehas a surface area of maximum length (Lmax) 740,3 meters, maximumwidth (Wmax) 708,3 meters. The Siombak lake also have depth maximum(Zm) of about 4-5 meters at high tide and 3-4 meters at low tide. Abstract

Makrozoobenthos can be used as bioindicators as it can determine the condition of a bodywater. This study focused on community structure of macrozoobenthos and measurement ofphysical and chemical factors. This study was conducted in January until March 2015.Macrozoobenthos retrived done using Eckman grabb, samples sorted using the Hand sorting.Samples were obtained identified in the Integrated Laboratory of USU. The highest density ofspecies found in Bithynia tentaculata were namely 48 ind / m2 was found in station I and thelowest in Campeloma decisum species were namely 6 ind / m2 was found at stations II andIV. The value of the highest diversity (H ) contained in the station III were namely 1.09 andthe lowest at station IV were namely 1.04. Habitat Similarity between stations based onphysical parameters that are most similar water chemistry contained in the station I and IIIwere namely 94%. Habitat Similarity between species are most similar to the station I and IIIwere namely 92%. Based on a Pondok Lapan lake’s LQI value categorized into pollutedwaters being were namely 3 and based on the FBI Pondok Lapan Lake’s category rather poorwaters that have were namely 6.Keywords : Pondok Lapan Lake’s, Community Structure, Macrozoobenthos

Abstract

Morphometry and water quality are primary data to assessing the potential of the lake.Morphometry data of lake is need in determining the lake’s layers and also determine theability to use by people. Pondok Lapan Lake is an artificial lake which located in Langkat.The purpose of this study was to determine the morphometric of aspects Pondok Lapan Lakeand determine the capacity that might be. The research was conducted from January untilMarch 2015. Data collection were performed in this research that were depth, stream flow,and around the lake are processed using ArcView. From the results, the lake morphometricaspects of wide Pondok Lapan Lake is around 63.472,78 m², the maximum length of 548,28m, 220,23 m maximum width, circumference 2.200,83 m, maximum depth of 4.15 m, with asloping bottom waters and shape of the lake bottom surface is irregular. And the capacity ofthe Pondok Lapan Lake which can be used by the public is 153.484,43 m³ of water volume,stream flow around 12.963,456 m³/day-14.111,712 m³/day, Recidance time of water about11-12 days, the brightness of the water approximately 0,965 m – 1,056 m with a depth ofcompensation approximately 2,612 - 2,858 mKeywords : Pondok Lapan Lake, lake morphometry, lake capacity

Abstract

In aquatic ecosystems, plankton is a big role in the food chain. This is because therole of plankton as producers (phytoplankton) and first level consumer (zooplankton) in thewaters for other organisms that it can be used as a feeding including fish. This research isfocused on plankton for structure community and measurement of physical and chemicalfactors. This research was held in January-March 2015. The method of research is by usingpurposive random sampling to determine the stations for some intent and purpose. Thecarrying out of plankton did by using Van Dorn water sampler a modified water samplingand then filtered with a plankton net no. 25. The diversity of plankton in these watersclassified as the medium category with H 2.121 value. The types of plankton which found inhigh abundance is Scenedesmus, Chodatella and Ankistrodesmus. And from the types ofzooplankton are Cyclops, Branchionus and Nauplius. Based on its saprobic coefficient isknown that these waters classified as moderately polluted by 1,158 value and classified intothe phase of βmeso/oligosaprobik.Keywords : Pondok Lapan Lake, Structure Community, Plankton, Saprobik.

Abstract

Nekton is organism that can swim and move on their own accord with exampleamphibians and aquatic insect. This study aims to determine the structure of nektoncommunity and relation about physical and chemical conditions in the Lake Pondok Lapan .This study was carried out from January to March 2015. Data collection were nekton speciescomposition and abundance, as well as water quality data as a supporter. Nekton retrievalused fish nett and fishing rod. The results showed there were 5 of the Ordo, of which 4 ordobelongs to fish and 1 ordo of shrimp. Sepat rawa (Trichogaster trichopterus) was found to becaught at most in the amount of 141 and 56% relative abundance. Diversity nekton in PondokLapan lake including low at 1,95. General dominance index value approaching 0 is equal to0,23. It shows that almost no one species dominates. Value uniformity tends to 1. The figureshows the number of individuals of each type of deployment is the same. Pearson correlationanalysis results showed that temperature, depth, water transparancy, pH ,DO and COD has apositive correlation with the abundance of nekton while turbidity and COD have a negativecorrelation or do not have the relationship with the abundance of nekton.Keywords: Pondok Lapan Lake, Structure Comunity, Nekton.

Abstract

Pondok Lapan Lake is an artificial lake located in Dusun Pulka Desa Naman JaheKecamatan Salapian Kabupaten Langkat. Pondok Lapan Lake around palm plantations. Thelake was originally made for irrigation. However, the surrounding communities do not havethe will to farm, they prefer planting such as palm oil and rubber tree. The study focused onwater quality and pollution load. This study was conducted in January until March 2015.Water sampling is done by using a sampling below the surface of the water. Samples of waterwas analyzed in Balai Teknik Kesehatan Lingkungan dan Pengendalian Penyakit (BTKLPP)kelas 1 Medan. The study resulted by the status of water quality with storet method based onthe quality standard of Grade I and II, -17 in a polluted medium and 0 in good condition.Status of water quality with pollution index method based on the class I and II,1.024 and0.617 in lightly polluted and in good condition. Pollution load capacity that can get into thewaters of Pondok Lapan Lake is 1,984 Pa kg / year.Keywords: Pollution Load, Pondok Lapan Lake, Water Quality
