Abstract

Gula merah tebu dihasilkan dari proses pengentalan nira tebu dengan cara pemanasan. Pemanasan ini penting karena dapat menentukan kualitas dari gula merah. Pembuatan gula merah secara tradisional memiliki kelemahan dalam proses pemanasan, sehingga menghasilkan kualitas gula merah yang tidak baik. Evaporator vakum double jacket tipe water jet adalah mesin yang mampu membuat gula merah yang lebih baik di banding pengolahan secara tradisional. Pengoperasinya evaporator vakum membutuhkan energi untuk menghasikan panas. Sehingga diperlukan evaluasi terhadap performansi atau kinerja mesin evaporator vakum double jacket tipe water jet. Hasil penelitian menunjukan antara lain nilai kebutuhan energi panas terbesar evaporator didapatkan pada suhu 600C yaitu sebesar 11.597,04 kJ dan yang terendah pada suhu 700C sebesar 7.190,82 kJ. Rerata Kebutuhan energi listrik terbesar di dapatkan pada suhu 600 C sebesar 11.140,00 kJ dan terendah di dapatkan pada suhu 700C sebesar 9.065,33 kJ . Rerata kadar air tertinggi dicapai pada perlakuan dengan suhu 600 C sebesar 10,60 % dan rerata kadar air terendah dicapai pada suhu 800 C sebesar 9,38 %. Kehilangan massa terbesar pada proses penguapan di dapatkan pada suhu 800C sebesar? 84,34 % dan kehilangan massa terendah pada suhu 600C sebesar 80,81 %. Nilai rerata rendemen terbesar di dapatkan pada suhu 600C sebesar? 18,84 % dan rendemen terendah di dapatkan pada suhu 800C sebesar 11,46. Nilai rerata massa gula merah terbesar di dapatkan pada suhu 600C sebesar 526 gram rerata massa gula merah terendah didapatkan pada suhu 800C sebesar 448,3. Efesiensi energi terbesar di dapatkan pada suhu 700C sebesar 74,94 % dan terendah di dapatkan pada suhu 800C sebesar 54,62%. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuaan perbedaan suhu pada proses pengupan nira tebu hingga menjadi gula merah berpengaruh pada sifat fisik dan lama waktu pemasakan serta massa gula merah yang dihasilkan. Sedangkan berdasarkan nilai efesiensi yang diperoleh, mesin Evaporator double jacket tipe water jet ini sudah cukup layak untuk proses pengentalan nira tebu. ? Abstract

Motivasi merupakan dorongan setiap individu untuk mencapai suatu tujuan tertentu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis motivasi mahasiswa dalam menempuh program sarjana Pendidikan IPA Universitas Tidar Tahun akademik 2017/2018 agar diperoleh gambaran secara faktual tentang motivasi mahasiswa dalam memilih Program Studi Pendidikan IPA di Universitas Tidar. Metode penelitian survai dengan menggunakan lembar angket motivasi terbuka. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester Gasal Tahun akademik 2017/2018 yang terdiri dari 79 mahasiswa. Analisis data penelitian dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa faktor instrinsik yang mempengaruhi motivasi mahasiswa sebesar 30,3% dan faktor ekstrinsik sebesar 69,6%. Fator instrinsik terdiri atas cita-cita sebagai guru sebesar 18,9%, tertarik mempelajari IPA sebesar 12,6%. Faktor ekstrinsik terdiri atas rekomendasi guru BK sebesar 6,3%, peluang menjadi guru IPA sebesar 31,6%, dekat dengan domisili sebesar 11,7%, citra Universitas Tidar sebagai PTN sebesar 12,6%, dan dorongan orang tua sebesar 6,3%. Simpulan mengungkapkan bahwa faktor ekstrinsik mendominasi motivasi mahasiswa dalam menempuh program sarjana Pendidikan IPA Universitas Tidar.Kata Kunci: Motivasi, Program Sarjana Pendidikan IPA Universitas Tidar

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the students response towards the implementation of RMS learning model (Reading, Mind Mapping, and Sharing) in Philosophy of Science Learning. Type of research used is pre-experimental design. The research sample is 40 students from the first odd semester in the year of 2017/2018. The technique of analysing data used is quantitative descriptive. The result of the research shows that student response after implementation of RMS learning model gave the positive response of 92.5%. The highest student response indicator is on attention aspect with an average of 32, and the lowest on the satisfaction aspect with an average of 23.5.

Abstract

Upaya mencapai kedaulatan pangan, pembangunan pertanian saat ini dihadapkan ke dalam berbagai tantangan yang harus dihadapi bersama. Keberhasilan pembangunan pada sektor pertanian ditentukan oleh ketersediaan sumberdaya manusia yang mumpuni. Untuk dapat menyediakan sumberdaya yang memadai, maka perlu adanya pendidikan yang mengintegrasikan potensi tersebut dalam pembelajaran. Dalam mewujudkannya diperlukan cara menginterintegrasikan potensi pertanian lokal melalui pembelajaran IPA terpadu agar potensi tersebut tetap terjaga dan dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut. Integrasi potensi pertanian lokal dalam pembelajaran terpadu dapat dilaksanakan dengan pengambilan tema pertanian lokal yang ada didaerah tersebut. Seperti halnya contoh pemaduan dalam tema “padiku subur hidupku makmur” yang dapat diintegrasikan hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan pertanian padi sebagai produk potensi lokal setempat. Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the causes of anemia in chronic diseases in addition to rheumatoid arthritis, urserative colitis, Crohn's disease, ovarian malignancy and Hodgkin's lymphoma. Chronic disease anemia also known as anemia due to inflammation, occurs in patients with chronic infections. This anemia also occurs in some patients with malignancy. The causes of anemia are based on cell size, namely iron deficiency (often), anemia of chronic diseases (often), Thalassemia (often in certain ethnicities) causing the size of cells to become microsytic. Cells turn macrocytic due to liver disease, excess alcohol, megaloblastic anemia (vitamin B12 deficiency or folate or exposure to certain drugs), hemolysis, and aplastic anemia. Whereas the normal cell factors are blood loss, the initial phase of iron deficiency, anemia, chronic disease, and kidney failure. The aim of this study was to determine the type of anemia based on the morphological description of erythrocytes in the form, color, and size of erythrocytes seen in the smear blood supply of tuberculosis patients based on treatment duration of 0-6 months. The type of research used was a descriptive survey with a population of 15 people taken by accidental sampling. Data collection is done by examining the blood smear smears. Based on the examination of peripheral blood smear preparations in pulmonary tuberculosis patients, the morphology of erythrocytes in the form of Normocytic normochrome was 74% and microsocytic normochrome was 26%. Suggestions in the research for further research can be carried out with support other than the examination of peripheral blood smear.

Abstract

       Jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia) dapat digunakan untuk obat batuk, peluruh dahak, influenza, dan obat jerawat. Jeruk nipis mengandung senyawa kimia yang bermanfaat salah satunya minyak atsiri dan flavonoid yang berfungsi sebagai antibakteri dan berperan sangat penting dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas air perasan jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia) pada konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% dan 100%  terhadap pertumbuhan Eschericia coli secara in vitro. Penelitian ini bersifat  eksperimen dengan rancangan post test only control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah air perasan jeruk nipis. Pengujian daya antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi sumuran. Parameter daya antibakteri ditentukan dengan mengukur zona hambat  (mm) yang terbentuk di sekitar pertumbuhan bakteri uji pada media Muller Hinton Agar. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan zona hambat air perasan jeruk nipis terhadap pertumbuhan Eschericia coli pada konsentrasi 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% dan 100% masing- masing berdiameter 7,25mm, 13,25mm, 14,25mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18,25mm, dan 20,75mm. Berdasarkan uji regresi linear didapat nilai signifikan 0,000 < α 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh air perasan jeruk nipis terhadap pertumbuhan Eschericia coli secara in vitro.  Disarankan pada penelitian lebih lanjut untuk menguji daya hambat air perasan jeruk nipis dengan menggunakan metode lain atau terhadap bakteri spesies lain.

Abstract

Coconut milk is a food ingredient that is used to increase the taste of food and drinks. Coconut milk has processed products in the form of traditional drinks such as ice dawet and cendol ice. According to the Indonesian National Standard in 2009 about Maximum Microbial Contamination in Food in liquid coconut milk must be in accordance with the requirements of TPC parameters, MPN Coliform, Salmonella sp., and Staphylococcus aureus. This study aims to determine the description of Staphylococcus aureus contamination in traditional coconut milk in the Banjarbaru region. This type of research is a descriptive survey. The samples in this study were traditional drinks (es dawet and es cendol) that used coconut milk by using Purposive sampling techniques as many as 6 sellers who made 2 times taking, namely taking 1 hour (testing I) after processing and 2 hours after the first take (testing II) . From the research that has been done, it is found that there are 4 samples of Staphylococcus aureus contamination in 4 samples, namely 3 samples fulfilling the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard and 1 sample that does not meet the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard. It is expected for the seller to always maintain personal hygiene, pay attention to the cleanliness of drinks sold either during processing or serving, noting the cleanliness of the appliance and storing the ingredients of the drinks sold.

Abstract

Dayak onion (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr) is hereditary used by the Indonesian Kalimantan Dayak community as a medicinal plant with antimicrobial activity. The active ingredient of Dayak onions can inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Escherichia coli. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Dayak extract (Eleutherine palmifollia (L) Merr) in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli in vitro. This research method is experimental. Posttest Only Control Group Design research design. Research Results Show that Dayak onion extract can inhibit Escherichia coli with concentrations of 10% (6 mm), 20% (8 mm), and 30% (11 mm), 40% (13 mm), 50% (16 mm), 60 % (18 mm) and 70% (20 mm), 80% (20 mm), 90% (24 mm) and 100% (30 mm). Abstract

Many food snacks have the advantage but still have health risks as evidenced by the many cases of food poisoning, one of the causes of food poisoning is Bacillus cereus. This study aims to determine the amount and percentage of Bacillus cereus pollution on snacks sold in elementary schools. This research is expected to provide information to the public about the presence or absence of bacteria Bacillus cereus contamination. This research uses purposive sampling technique. The sample used in this study was hawker food sold in Elementary School as many as 20 samples consisting of 10 samples that have not fried and ten samples that have cooked. The results of the questionnaire study showed 83% of sellers did not put snacks in closed containers and found Bacillus cereus in meals.
