Abstract

Cellulose Acetate is a material with wide range in applications. Cellulose acetate may obtain from natural resources, such as areca fiber. Polymers should have uniform molecular weight for the applications and could be modify by ultrasonic waves. Ultrasonic treatment on polymer entangled with polymer degradation. In this research, degradation kinetics of cellulose acetate in acetone had been studied. Analysis was performed by determination of intrinsic viscosity in polymer solution system.  Intrinsic viscosity was successfully obtained by fitting data using Huggins equation, indicate molecular interaction in polymer solution should not be neglected.  Increasing in sonication time reducing the intrinsic viscosities as well as molecular size in solutions.  Degradation rate constant and reaction order were obtained 5,975x10-3(g.mL-1)0,1.min-1 and 1,0616, respectively.  Kinetics model was successful to determine the degradation rates of cellulose acetate on acetone by correlation coefficient (R2) at 0,966.

Abstract

Abstract: Communication skill through writing in experiments reports is one of life skills who students need to possess. The purpose of this research was to analyze communication skills and the constrains faced by Eleven Grade of Science Students at SMA 3 Pontianak in preparing of thermochemical experiment report. The method of this research was descriptive using observation sheet and guide interview as instruments. Result analysis showed that students had a very good category in writing title and purpose, tools and materials, work procedures and making the table observation; good category in formulating the problems; well enough categories in writing basic theory, making the discussion and conclusion and also providing suggestion. Overall communication skills which Eleven Grade of Science Students at SMA 3 Pontianak acquired in preparation of thermochemical experiment reports included in good category. The constraints faced by students due unsistematically formated by teacher in preparing of experiments reports. We recommended, therefore teachers can develop communication skills of their students to improve learning outcomes. Key words: communication skills, practical reports, thermochemical Abstrak: Keterampilan komunikasi secara tertulis dalam penyusunan laporan praktikum merupakan salah satu kecakapan hidup yang perlu dimiliki siswa.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterampilan komunikasi dan kendala yang dihadapi siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak dalam menyusun laporan praktikum termokimia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan instrumen berupa lembar observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa siswa mempunyai kategori sangat baik dalam menuliskan judul dan tujuan, menulis alat dan bahan, menulis prosedur kerja serta membuat tabel pengamatan; kategori baik dalam merumuskan masalah; kategori cukup baik dalam menulis dasar teori, membuat pembahasan, membuat kesimpulan dan memberikan saran. Keterampilan komunikasi keseluruhan yang diperoleh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak dalam menyusun laporan praktikum termokimia termasuk dalam kategori baik. Kendala yang dihadapi siswa dalam menyusun laporan praktikum disebabkan guru belum pernah meminta siswa menyusun laporan praktikum secara sistematis. Melalui penelitian ini, guru dapat mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi yang dimiliki siswa untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar. Kata kunci : keterampilan komunikasi, laporan praktikum, termokimia

Abstract

Abstract: The fondamental of chemistry is the process and product, in chemistry learning students were not only given by fact and concept, but also were trained to find fact and concept to develop chemical product through the scientific process and attitude. Scientific skill and attitude hold important role in finding the concept of science. This research was purposed to increase students’ attitude towards thermochemistry subject using inquiry approach experiment learning method. The experiment in this research was the exothermic and endothermic reactions where students must be able to differentiate those two reactions. The second experiment was calorimetry. In this experiment, students were asked to determine an enthalpy reaction. The form of this research was  classroom action research. The subject of the research was eleventh grade science students of SMAN 3 Sanggau, as many as 35 students participated in this research. Observation sheets, questionnaires, lesson plan, and students’ works sheet were used to observe development of students’ scientific attitude. The instruments were validated by three validators. The validation result stated that the research instruments were decent to be used in this research. This classroom action research consists of  two cycles, each cycle consists of action planning, action, observation, and reflection. The increasing of scientific attitudes that want to be seen are curiosity, critical thinking, and cooperative where each attitude has three assessment indicators. The indicators success of this research were seen from the increasing of students’ scientific attitude as much as 50% of all students in each cycle.  Scientific attitude percentages that were earned from each cycle are 57%  in firs cycle and 74.3% in second cycle. The result of classroom action research showed the increasing of students’ scientific attitude. We recommended there for teacher can increase the students scientific attitude so it can give advantages towards learning outcome and concept of science understanding. Keywords        :           scientific attitude, experiment method, inquiry approach, thermochemistry, classroom action research Abstrak: Hakikat ilmu kimia adalah sebagai proses dan produk, dalam pembelajaran kimia siswa tidak hanya diberika fakta dan konsep, tetapi siswa juga dilatih untuk menemukan fakta dan konsep untuk mengembangkan produk kimia melalui proses dan sikap ilmiah. Keterampilan ilmiah dan sikap ilmiah memiliki peran yang penting dalam menemukan konsep sains  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan sikap ilmiah siswa pada materi termokimia dengan pembelajaran menggunakan metode praktikum pendekatan inkuiri. Praktikum termokimia dalam penelitian ini adalah reaksi eksoterm dan endoterm dimana siswa harus bisa membedakan kedua reaksi tersebut, praktikum berikutnya adalah kalorimeter, dalam praktikum ini siswa diminta untuk menentukan entalpi reaksi. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Sebanyak 35 orang siswa XI IPA SMAN 3 Sanggau berpartispasi dalam peneletian ini. Lembar observasi,angket, RPP dan LKS digunakan sebagai instrumen untuk melihat peningkatan sikap ilmiah siswa. Instrument penelitian  tersebut divalidasi oleh tiga orang validator. Hasil validasi menyatakan bahwa instrument penelitian tersebut layak digunakan untuk penelitian. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini terdiri dari dua siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Adapun peningkatan sikap ilmiah yang ingin dilihat adalah sikap ingin tahu, sikap berfikir kritis, dan sikap kerjasama dimana  masing-masing sikap ilmiah memiliki tiga indikator penilaian. Indikator keberhasilan dilihat dari peningkatan peningkatan sikap ilmiah siswa sebesar 50% dari seluruh siswa pada masing-masing siklus. Persentase sikap ilmiah yang diperoleh dari setiap siklus adalah   (57%) pada siklus I dan (74,3%) pada siklus II. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas menunjukkan adanya peningkatan sikap ilmiah  siswa. Melalui penelitian ini guru dapat meningkatkan sikap ilmiah siswa dalam pembelajaran sehingga dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap hasil belajar dan pemahaman konsep sains.  Kata kunci: sikap ilmiah, metode praktikum, pendekatan inkuiri, termokimia, penelitian tindakan kelas

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa  yang  diberi direct  corrective  feedback dengan  siswa  yang  diberi indirect corrective feedback pada PR dan mengetahui besarnya pengaruh pemberian direct corrective feedbackpada PR terhadap hasil belajar dalam materi larutan penyangga kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Kakap. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen  semu  dengan  rancangan  penelitian  “Nonequivalent  Control  GroupDesign”. Sebanyak 22 siswa dari kelas XI IPA 2 dan 25 siswa dari kelas XI IPA 3berpartisipasi dalam  penelitian  ini.  Analisis  data  menggunakan  uji U-Mann Whitney menunjukkan  terdapat  perbedaan  hasil  belajar  antara  siswa  yang  diberi direct  corrective  feedbackdengan  yang  diberi indirect  corrective  feedback pada pekerjaan rumah. Berdasarkan nilai effect sizeyaitu sebesar 2,17 dengan kategori sangat  tinggi, direct  corrective  feedback memberikan  pengaruh  sebesar  48,5% terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.Kata Kunci: Direct Corrective Feedback, Pekerjaan RumahAbstract: This  research aims  to  determine  differences  learning  result between students who were given direct corrective feedback with students who were given indirect  corrective  feedback  on  homework  and  determine direct  corrective feedback’s effect on homework againts learning result in buffer learning grade XI SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Kakap. The form research that used was quasi-experimental with research design was "Nonequivalent Control Group Design". 22 students of class XI IPA 2 and 25 students of class XI IPA 3 participated in this research. Data analysis  used U-Mann Whitney  test  showed  that  there  were  differences  learning result between  students who  were given  direct  corrective  feedback  with  students who  were  given  indirect  corrective  feedback  on  homework.  Based  on value  of effect  size that was 2.17 with  category was very high, direct  corrective  feedback gave 48.5% effect on increased student learning result.Keywords: Direct Corrective Feedback, Homework

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XB SMAN 8 Pontianak yang masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XB SMAN 8 Pontianak pada materi hidrokarbon melalui model kooperatif tipe Course Review Horay (CRH) yang dibantu media molymod. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Siswa yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 31 orang. Instrumen penelitian adalah lembar observasi dan tes hasil kerja siswa yang dilakukan selama dua siklus. Siklus I visual activities 54,83%, oral activities 35,48% dan writing activities 45,16%. Siklus II visual activities 83,87%, oral activities 49,99%, dan writing activities 80,64%. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 58,06%, dan siklus II sebesar 87,09%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci :course review horay,media molymod   Abstract:This research was conducted based on tenth grade students  of SMAN 08 Pontianak that were still low in activity and learning outcome. The aim of this research were to improve tenth grade students’ of SMAN 08 Pontianak activity and learning outcome by using cooperative learning Course Review Horay (CRH) supported by Molymod media in hydrocarbon learning material. The method of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research was 31 students in class XB. The instruments of this research were observation worksheet and students’ test result  that were conducted during three cycles.The students’ activities in every cycles consisted of visual activities, oral activities, and writing activities. The results for visual activities were 54,83%, 35,48% in oral activities , and 45,16 % for writing activities. The percentage of students’ learning outcome in first cycle was 58, 06%. The results of second cycle in visual activities were 83,87%, 49,99% for oral activities , and 80,64% for writing activities 80,64%. The percentage of students’ learning outcome in second cycle was 87,09%. The result of this research proved there was any improvement in students’ activity and learning outcome. Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh keinginan guru untuk memperbaiki kualitas pembelajarannya. Kualitas pembelajaran dapat dipengaruhi oleh aktivitas dan hasil belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XF SMAN 9 Pontianak pada materi hukum dasar kimia melalui model kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dilengkapi teknik kancing gemerincing. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Sebanyak 34 orang siswa berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar digunakan sebagai instrumen penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan terhadap aktivitas memperhatikan, aktivitas lisan dan aktivitas menulis dari pra siklus ke siklus I berturut-turut sebesar 62,29%, 67,64%, dan 44,47%. Aktivitas memperhatikan, aktivitas lisan dan aktivitas menulis meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II berturut-turut sebesar 2,94%, 2,21%, dan 17,64%. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan peningkatan terhadap hasil belajar dari pra siklus ke siklus I sebesar 41,18% dan dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 5,88%. Learning quality can be regarded by activities and learning outcomes. The aims of this reasearch are to improve the activities and students learning outcomes of tenth-grade in SMAN 9 Pontianak on chemical base law subject through cooperative model type of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) which is completed by jingle button technic. This research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). Thirty four students were participated in this research. Observation sheets and achievement test were used as research instruments. The result of this study indicated the increased of visual activities, oral activities and writing activities of pre-cycle to first-cycle were about 62,29%, 67,64%, and 44,47%. Visual activities, oral activities and writing activities increased from first-cycle to second-cycle were about 2,94%, 2,21%, and 17,64%. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar, pengaruh serta rata-rata persentase siswa yang mampu menjawab soal mudah, sedang dan sulit dengan skor maksimal setelah diajar dengan Structure Exercise Method (SEM) dalam Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) pada materi hukum dasar kimia di kelas X Kimia Industri SMK-SMTI Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen murni dengan rancangan three solomon group design. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara SEM dalam TPS dengan TPS maupun antara SEM dengan TPS. Namun tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara SEM dalam TPS dengan SEM. Terdapat pengaruh peningkatan hasil belajar di kelas SEM dalam TPS, SEM maupun TPS berturut-turut sebesar 1,28 (kategori tinggi), 1,24 (kategori tinggi) dan 0,61 (kategori sedang). Rata-rata persentase siswa yang mampu menjawab soal mudah, sedang dan sulit dengan skor maksimal pada kelas SEM dalam TPS berturut-turut sebesar 80%, 58,4% dan 16,7%.   Kata kunci: structure exercise method, think pair share, hasil belajar, hukum-hukum dasar kimia  Abstract: The aim of this research is to know the differences of learning outcomes, effects, and average percentage of the students, who could answer the easy, medium, and difficult questions with the maximum score after being taught Structure Exercise Method (SEM) in cooperative learning which Think Pair Share (TPS) type on subject matter of basic laws of chemistry in ten grade Industrial Chemistry SMK-SMTI Pontianak. The method of this research was true experiment with three solomon group design. The results of data analysis showed that there are differences of students learning outcomes between SEM in TPS with TPS or SEM with TPS. But there is no difference between SEM in TPS with SEM. There are an effect in increasing the students learning outcomes in SEM in TPS, SEM and TPS respectly are 1.28 (high category), 1.24 (high category), and 0.61 (medium category). The average percentage of students who could answer the easy, medium, and hard questions with maximum score on SEM in TPS respectly are 80%; 58.4%; and 16.7%.   Keyword: structure exercise method, think pair share, learning outcomes, basic laws of chemistry

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran yang belum melibatkan siswa sehingga aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model Quantum Teaching berbantuan animasi pada materi asam basa. Sebanyak 37 siswa berpartisipasi aktif dalam penelitian ini. Bentuk penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dan dilakukan dua siklus. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan yaitu terdiri dari lembar observasi tertutup, lembar observais terbuka dan soal posttest. Berdasarkan analisis data lembar observasi dan soal posttest disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar pada siswa kelas XI IPA 4. Peningkatan aktivitas memperhatikan, lisan dan menulis pada siklus I dan II berturut-turut yaitu 70,3% dan 86,5%, 21,6% dan 24,2%, 54,1% dan 62%. Persentase hasil belajar pada siklus I dan siklus II yaitu 62,2% dan 67,6%. Kata kunci: quantum teaching, animasi Abstract : This research background is motivated by the learning of students who have not been involved, so that the activity and student learning outcomes is low. The purpose of this research is to increase the activity and students learning outcomes using the model of Quantum Teaching aided animation on acid-base material. A total of 37 students actively participated in this study. The form of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and performed two cycles. Data collection tool used was consisted of a closed observation sheets, open observation sheets and post-test questions. Based on the analysis of the data observation sheets and post-test questions concluded that there are increased activity and learning outcomes of students grade XI IPA 4. Increased activity of attention, verbal and written in cycle I and II respectively are 70.3% and 86.5%, 21.6% and 24.2%, 54.1% and 62%. Percentage of learning outcomes in the first cycle and the second cycle is 62.2% and 67.6%. Keywords: quantum teaching, animation

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan multipel representasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri se-kota Pontianak pada materi klasifikasi benda. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sebanyak 97 siswa dari tiga SMP Negeri yang telah mempelajari materi klasifikasi benda berpartisipasi sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik stratified sampling. Kemampuan multipel representasi siswa diukur menggunakan tes tertulis berbentuk pilihan ganda beralasan dengan validitas=1,00 dan reliabilitas= 0,796. Teknik analisis data didasarkan pada hasil tes dan hasil wawancara siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh informasi bahwa kemampuan multipel representasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri se-kota Pontianak pada materi klasifikasi benda dalam kategori kurang. Hasil data penelitian menunjukkan persentase rata-rata kemampuan representasi simbolik siswa, kemampuan representasi makroskopik siswa, dan kemampuan representasi mikroskopik siswa secara berurutan sebesar 24,58% (kategori kurang), 30,85% (kategori kurang), dan 18,38% (kategori sangat kurang). Kata kunci: representasi, simbolik, makroskopik, mikroskopik Abstract: The aim of this research is to know multiple representation ability of students grade 7th SMPN in Pontianak of substance classification subject matter. The form of this research was used quantitative descriptive. Amount of 97 students from three SMPN had studied substance classification subject matter were participated as sample of research which took by stratified sampling technique. Multiple representation ability of students measured by written test with reasoning multiple choices which had validity =1,00 and reliability r=0,796. The technique of data analysis based on results of test and  students’s interview results. According to results of data analysis had been got information that multiple representation ability of students grade 7th SMPN in Pontianak of object classification in less category. Results of the research shown that rate presentation of student’s simbolic representation ability,  student’s macroscopic representation ability, and student’s microscopic representation ability respectively are 24,58% (less category), 30,85% (less category), and 18,38% (very less category). Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan multirepresentasi pada materi perubahan fisika dan perubahan kimia, dan kemampuan berpikir formal siswa kelas VII SMPN se-Kota Pontianak, serta arah dan kekuatan hubungan antara kemampuan multirepresentasi dengan kemampuan berpikir formal. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik Stratified Sample. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan korelasional. Kemampuan berpikir formal siswa diukur menggunakan tes Burney, sedangkan kemampuan multirepresentasi siswa diukur menggunakan tes pilihan ganda beralasan. Analisis korelasi diuji menggunakan statistik korelasi Spearman-Brown. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan kemampuan multirepresentasi siswa kelas VII SMPN se-Kota Pontianak dalam kategori kurang dan sangat kurang dengan persentase kemampuan untuk level makroskopik, simbolik, mikroskopik berturut-turut 38,54%; 20,05%; 18,2%. Kemampuan berpikir siswa kelas VII SMPN se-Kota Pontianak yang telah mencapai tingkat berpikir formal hanya sebesar 1,5%. Hubungan antara kemampuan multirepresentasi dengan kemampuan berpikir formal menunjukkan hubungan yang positif dan signifikan dengan nilai koefisien korelasi untuk level makroskopik, simbolik, mikroskopik berturut-turut 0,244; 0,396; 0,393. Kata kunci : makroskopik, simbolik, mikroskopik, berpikir formal Abstract: This aim of this research is to know multipel representation ability of material physical changes and chemical changes, and formal thinking ability of students grade 7th junior high school in Pontianak, and direction and strength relationship between multipel representation ability with formal thinking ability. Samples were selected by Stratified Sampling technique. The form of this research was quantitative descriptive and correlational. Formal thinking ability of students were measured by test Burney, whereas multipel representation ability of students were measured by test reasoning multiple-choices. Correlation analysis was tested by Spearman-Brown correlation statistics. The results of data analysis showed that multipel representation ability of students grade 7th junior high school in Pontianak in less and very less categories with percentage ability in level macroscopic, symbolic, microscopic respectively are 38.54%; 20.05%; 18.2%. Thingking ability of students grade 7th junior high school in Pontianak who have achieved a level of formal thinking only 1,5%. Relationship between multipel representation ability with formal thinking ability showed a positive and significant which has value of coefisien correlation in level macroscopic, symbolic, microscopic respectively are 0.244; 0.396; 0.393.
