Abstract

Nahum Tate’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s King Lear was so successful in Restoration theatre. Modern critics, however, regard Tate’s work as a second class drama which deserves mockery and dismiss it from master narratives of the history of English theatre. Therefore, we examine the ‘fields of cultural production’ of Shakespeare’s and Nahum Tate’s King Lear from Shakespeare’s time to the present to find out how each period values a certain work of literature. In the discussion, we would like to argue that the shifting ‘fields of cultural production’ determines the acceptance and rejection of Nahum Tate’s King Lear. By analyzing the ‘fields of cultural productions’ of both plays, we show that Tate’s has been excluded from the canonization within modern field of production’s discourses because of shifting circles of belief.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine lifestyle patterns in family finances. This research was conducted in a private educational institution in Bandung. Data collection technique used in this research is survey technique with questionnaires and for data analysis technique that used in this study is descriptive analysis. It has been found that the lifestyle patterns of employees at one of private educational institution in Bandung generally still have a good patterns.This is proved by the monetary sequences of their revenue and expense. Also, the priority selection of their needs and wants in fullfilling their life style is still in control.The result of this research, generally the respondents already have their own house, vehicles, and mobile communication devices like handphone, with purchasing frequency in 1 year mostly less than 2 times.Moreover, the respondents also already have a habit of saving/investing and insurance.T o fill their spare time, respondents prefer to gather with their family, go to mall with frequency in a month 1-4 times and also they do exercise. But, the problem that needs to be taken care of is how to handle their credit card/loans because a lot of respondents have routine spending of paying credit card installment/loans.From this research, also found that there is still a lack of awareness for making simple bookkeeping of their revenue and expense. Therefore to make them literate family finances, they need to follow a counseling and training about family finances. Even, they are suggested to follow the counseling and training with their family members.

Abstract

One genre that has been growing rapidly in manga is yaoi, which sells romance between beautiful young boys and men.  In Aozora no Sunda Iro wa, I want to reveal how Sugiura takes female role in his same-sex romantic relationship and why Sugiura has dominant feminine features which leads to his feminine role.  I used gender role theory and attitudinal pathway gender schema theory.  I find out that Sugiura has female-like body-type.  He is neat, supportive, sensitive, innocent, weak, and submissive.  He is motherly and economically dependent.  In addition, Sugiura became feminine because of Fukada’s involvement in Sugiura’s childhood, his masculine value was rejected while he was encouraged to hold feminine value.  In conclusion, Sugiura is a feminine uke by showing feminine qualities in his persona code, emotion code, and action code which are resulted by Fukada’s involvement in his childhood

Abstract

The first education themed Indonesian movie during Indonesian film industry history is exposed in, Denias, Senandung di Atas Awan. This film presents a struggle of a boy, Denias,  in pursuing his dream to achieve a better education and through this movie he is also recognized as a hero. Moreover, in order to help my pursuit in answering my statement of the problem, I applied Christopher Vogler’s theory which is the Character Arc. Thus, in the end of this study, I can conclude that a common boy can also be recognized as a hero because  he has a great effort. This effort can be seen through his (Denias’) inner journey that leads him to be an educated person.

Abstract

This thesis aims to reveal the interdependency between Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in Sherlock television series. Their interdependency can be in a form of social needs or emotional needs. To fulfill their needs, both of them need an attachment toward each other. Thus, their attachment develops into an interdependency relationship. In fulfilling their needs, both of them doing the exchange process between cost and reward form their relationship. Also, there are some reasons which made both of them develop a very close relationship. In conclusion, Sherlock and John have their own outcomes or rewards which can be achieved only in their relationship. Also, Sherlock and John, in order to fulfill their emotional or social needs they have to bear the consequence

Abstract

The Community Service Project funded by the Higher Education IbM grant as reported here was conducted in order to meet the real need of the focus group in terms of training attendants of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Kelurahan Dr Soetomo, Surabaya to have the competence to tell Nusantara folk tales These skills of storytelling that have been rare and marginalized by the advancement modern means of communication were badly needed by attendants or would-be attendants who are organized under Early Childhood Education (ECE). Through the training, ECE attendants will be enabled to tell Nusantara folktales which are rich in local wisdom as a media of character education for todlers in the local ECE. Such a community service project could also be beneficial if it is disseminated in other focus groups that badly need it in the inner city of Surabaya.

Dosen Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya Jln Raya Palembang-Inderalaya Km 32, Inderalaya Ogan Ilir Sumatera Selatan email : Anggieyuliantii@yahoo.com   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa pada materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan setelah diterapkan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Index Card Match (ICM) di kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 14 Palembang. populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 14 Palembang tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sehingga diperoleh kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas sampel. Metode yang digunakan adalah Pre-Experimental Design dengan bentuk desain one-group pretest-postest design. Data yang diambil berupa hasil belajar  siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t, hasil penelitian ini menunjukan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada kelas percobaan pada materi KD 2.1 Untuk tes awal sebesar 50,76 dan untuk tes akhir nya 81,46. Hasil belajar menunjukan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar rata-rata 31,22 sehingga diperoleh indeks gain sebesar 0,64 dengan kategori sedang. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Index Card Match berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 14 Palembang. Nilai penelitian terhadap aktivitas siswa pada kelas XI IPA 3 selama penerapan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Index Card Macth yaitu dalam kategori tinggi.   Kata kunci : Strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Index Card Macth (ICM), hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa. Abstract This research aims to know the results of student learning on the material tissue structure and function after active learning strategies the type of Index Card Match (ICM) are applied in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 14 Palembang. The population in this research is the all of student in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 14 Palembang school year 2013/2014. The sample in this study is taken using a purposive sampling technique, so that the retrieved class XI IPA 3 as a class sample. The method used is the pre-Experimental Design with form design one-group pretest-postest design. The Data is taken in the form of student learning outcomes. Data analysis, the t test is used, the results of the study showed the average value of student learning outcomes in the classroom experiment on material KD 2.1. For the pre-tests 50.76 and the post-test 81,46. Results of the study showed an increase in average study results 31,22 so that the retrieved gain index 0.64 by medium category. The t-test results showed that the application of active learning strategies Index Card type Match effect significantly to student learning outcomes in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 3 14 Palembang. The research value of the activity of students in class XI IPA 3 during the application of active learning strategies type Index Card Macth that is high in category Key words: Active learning strategy type Index Card Macth (ICM), the result of study and student activities.

Abstract

Abstrak: Hereditas biasa didefinisikan sebagai transmisi genetik dari orang tua pada keturunannya, meski kejadian sesungguhnya tidaklah sesederhana itu. Anak pada dasarnya tidak mewarisi bentukan fisik seperti tinggi badan, warna kulit ataupun rambut. Anak juga tidak mewarisi bakat bermusik atau kecenderungan berbuat kriminal, yang diwarisi anak dari ayah dan ibunya adalah genotif mereka. Teori hereditas merupakan bahasan filsafat sains yang menarik untuk diperdebatkan karena selain mempengaruhi perkembang bidang keilmuan biologi modern, hereditas juga mempengaruhi bidang sosial. Artikel ini akan membahas teori hereditas Mendel sebagai bagian dari filsafat perkembangan sains dengan membandingkannya pada teori-teori hereditas pra dan pasca Mendel. Dari hasil analisis dan kajian pustaka dapat disimpulkan bahwa teori hereditas Mendel merupakan revolusi paradigma sains jika dibandingkan dengan pra-Mendel tetapi merupakan evolusi paradigma sains jika dihubungkan dengan perkembangan teori hereditas pasca-Mendel   Kata Kunci: Mendel, Hereditas, Filsafat Sains

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi mencatat menggunakan peta pikiran terhadap retensi siswa pada mata pelajaran Biologi kelas XI SMA Plus Negeri 2 Banyuasin III. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pre-experimental design kategori Intact-Group Comparison. Materi pembelajaran yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah sistem regulasi manusia. Pengambilan data dilakukan di kelas XI IPA 2 dengan jumlah siswa 25 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 1 dengan jumlah siswa 25 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, angket, dan observasi. Data yang dianalisis berupa nilai akhir (retensi jangka pendek dan retensi jangka panjang), respon siswa, dan penilaian peta pikiran. Setelah dianalisis, hasil Uji-t pada retensi jangka pendek retensi jangka panjang, hasil data dukung kuesioner (angket), dan hasil observasi peta pikiran melalui rubrik menggambarkan bahwa ada kaitannya antara tes, angket dan rubrik terhadap peta pikiran dan retensi siswa. Hasil uji korelasi peta pikiran terhadap retensi siswa pada 3 kali pertemuan memperoleh hasil 0,938, 0,953, dan 0,970 dengan interpretasi tinggi karena peta pikiran dapat digunakan untuk melihat retensi siswa dalam pembelajaran. Hasil uji dan data dukung dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi mencatat menggunakan peta pikiran mempunyai pengaruh terhadap retensi siswa pada mata pelajaran Biologi.   Kata kunci: Peta Pikiran, Retensi jangka pendek, Retensi jangka panjang
