Abstract

This research aims to see the histological structure of the crop in poultry. Animals used were chicken (Gallus domesticus), duck (Anser anserdomesticus), and pigeon (Columba domesticus) each group consists of three animals. Crop tissue of each animal were taken and processed inmicrotechnic and stained with Hematoxilin and Eosin (HE), then observed with digital microscope. The results showed that there were thesimilarity of the general structures of crop from the three types of these poultry. which consists of the tunica mucosa, tuni ca submucosa, tunicamuscularis and tunica serosa. Lamina muscularis in duck is more obvious than chicken and pigeon. Mucosal gland of duck shaped oval, chickenshaped rounded, and the pigeons are not found. Tunica muscularis duck arranged longitudinally in the outside dan ci rcular in the inside. Tunicamuscularis duck arranged longitudinally in the inside, and circular in the outside, and tunica muscularis in pigeon just arranged longitudinally.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Key words: histological, crop, poultry

Abstract

The aims of this research was to find out the healing process of second degree burn in rats (Rattus norvegicus) using ambarella leaf (Spondias dulcis F.) and vaselin on histopathologically. The research consisted of 4 treatment groups and 3 rats each, P1(double distilled water), P2 (ambarella leaf + double distilled water), P3 (vaselin), and P4 (ambarella leaf + vaselin). Treatment was done twice a day for 21 days. The research parameters are inflammatory reactions and distribution of collagen tissue. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that on day 7, P1 and P3 many infiltration of inflammatory cells, hemorrhage and edema, on P2 and P4 here more infiltration of inflammatory cells, hemorrhage and edema. On the day 14th of many inflammatory cell infiltration, collagen tissue diffuse very thin on were described P1 and P3, and visible presence of new blood vessels was found on P4. On day 21th infiltration of inflammatory cells still present on (P1), there were a lot of new blood vessels on P2, there has been a process of epithelialization (P3), epidermis formed and collagen tissue spread very densely on P4. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that administration of ambarella leaf and vaselin can speed up the healing process of burns in rats compared with other treatments.Key words: ambarella leaf, burn, vaselin

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to study the microscopic structure of tail bones in ovariectomized and non-ovariectomy rats. Fourteen femaleSprague Dawley rats 7 weeks old were randomly divided into 2 groups. The rats in the control group were non-ovariectimized. The rats in groupII were ovariectomized. The samples were then fed with phosphate/calcium diet with ratio of 2 to 1. The rats was sacrificed after 12 weeks. Thetail bone were collected and processed for microscopic examination with trichrome staining. The results showed that structurally theosteoporosis occurred in tail bone of group K2. Its could be concluded that estrogen deficiency condition (ovariectomy) caused osteoporosis intail bones.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Key words: osteoporosis, ovariectomy, tail bone

Abstract

This research was conducted to know the activity of crude ethanol extract of pliek u (E) through in vitro assays. Pliek u obtained from households industry in the Reudep village Aceh Besar, Aceh province. Yeasts used in clinical trials is Candida albicans isolates obtained from the Mycology Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Bogor Agricultural University. Anticandidal activity was determined on a paper disc, whereas in the broth dilution method is used to set a killing time activity of the E. The concentration of E that is used to determine the killing time activity is the value of LC50. Crude ethanol extract of pliek u (E) showed anticandidal activity with inhibitory zone diameters of 10.67 ± 0.47 mm. Ethanol extract of pliek u at a concentration of 3.36 mg / ml can reduce the number of C. albicans within two hours at 2.57 log CFU / ml compared to controls at 7.42 log CFU / ml. Based on this study can be concluded that ethanol extract of pliek u (E) can be considered an alternative drug for treating candidiasis, so it needs further research to veterinary clinics in vivo applications

Abstract

The aims of this research was to find the effect of pliek u on the morphometric of small intestine villi of broiler. This research was conducted at teaching farm and Pathology Laboratory, Veterinary Medicine Faculty, Syiah Kuala University, on June to November 2011. Pliek u was collected from home industry in Jangka village, Bireuen. Pliek u added in feed with concentration of 0.5%, 1%, dan 2%, that was given every day for 28 days. Complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this research with four treatments K0 (control), K1 (0.5% pliek u), K2(1% plieku), and K3(2% pliek u), each treatment group contain three broiler. The results showed that the concentration of addition pliek u in feed had no effect to histomorphometric of small intestine villi of broiler

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian minyak sawit dan minyak sawit oksidasi termal terhadap histopatologik jantung burung merpati. Burung merpati dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok masing-masing terdiri atas 6 ekor. Penelitian berlangsung selama 45 hari, dengan pola perlakuan sebagai berikut: kelompok I: diberi ransum standar 521 (kontrol/P0); kelompok II: diberi ransum standar 521 mengandung 3% minyak sawit normal (P1); kelompok III: diberi ransum standar 521 mengandung 3% minyak sawit oksidasi termal (P2). Pemberian ransum dan minuman dilakukan setiap hari secara ad libitumselama 45 hari. Kemudian semua merpati dikorbankan, organ jantung diambil, diproses secara mikroteknik. Pemberian ransum standar 521 mengandung 3% minyak sawit oksidasi termal selama 45 hari menimbulkan perubahan histopatologik pada jantung burung merpati.Kata kunci:Histopatologik jantung; oksidasi termal; minyak sawit

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the anatomical morphology and histology of the intestineof water monitor (Varanussalvator). Intestine organ from an adult male water monito was used in thisstudy. Perfusion was performed to flow the 4% paraformaldehyde fixative solution through the heart.Intestine was collected, then divided into six sections, followed with dipping them into 4% paraformaldehydesolution for four days, continued histological preparations and stained with haematoxylin eosin (HE). Theanatomical morphology observation was performed before the intestine was processed into histologicalpreparations by observing the outer shape of the intestine and measuring it’slength. Morphologicalobservation was made †after processing theintestinal tissue by observing each portion of the intestinalwall structure. The results showed that transverse fold were found on the outer and inner surfaces of theintestine section I-IV, while in the V-VI part of the intestine, the folds were not observed anymore. Theintestine wall consisted of four layers, such as mucosa, submucosa, tunica muscularis, and serosa. Thevilli on intestine section I-IV were relatively longer and higher, while the intestine vili in section V-VI wererelatively short. The entire mucosa in water monitor was coated with absorptive columnar epitheliumwith goblet cells. Based on the result study, it can be concluded that the water monitor has more efficientdigestive process which can be seen morphologically from the relatively short intestinal, has transversefolds on the surface of the small intestine, and does not have cecum. The intestinal wall consists of layersi.e : mucosa, submucosa, tunica muscularis, and serosa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat gambaran histologi kelenjar mukosa tembolok ayam kampung (Gallus domesticus), bebek (Anser anser domesticus), dan merpati (Columba domesticus), masing-masing berjumlah 3 ekor. Sampel yang digunakan adalah tembolok dari ayam kampung, bebek, dan merpati. Jaringan tembolok masing-masing hewan diambil dan diproses secara mikroteknik dengan pewarnaan Hematoksilin-Eosin (HE) kemudian diamati di bawah mikroskop.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan bentuk antara kelenjar mukosa tembolok ayam kampung dan bebek.Bentuk kelenjar mukosa tembolok ayam kampung bulat, sedangkan bebek lonjong.Baik ayam kampung maupun bebek kelenjar mukosa tembolok tersebar di lamina propia. Pada ayam kampung jumlah kelenjar mukosa tembolok lebih banyak dibandingkan kelenjarmukosa tembolok bebek. Pada merpati tidak dijumpai kelenjar mukosa tembolok di lamina propia.

Abstract

          Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui histologi empedu dan pankreas ikan lele lokal (Clarias bathrachus), organ diambil dari tiga ekor ikan lele lokal dan diteliti dengan metode histologi eksplorasi, pengambilan sampel empedu dan pankreas dilakukan setelah melakukan euthanasia terlebih dahulu dengan menggunakan minyak cengkeh. Pengamatan histologi empedu dan pankreas dilakukan setelah melakukan pembuatan preparat histologi dengan pewarnaan hemaktosilin-eosin (HE) pada organ empedu dan pankreas ikan lele lokal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa empedu ikan lele lokal ini sama seperti histologi empedu ikan lain, memiliki tunika mukosa, tunika muskularis, dan tunika adventisia, sedangkan pankreas pada ikan lele lokal ini, terdapat di sekitar venaporta hepatika, dijumpai adanya sel-sel darah, tidak memiliki pulau Langerhans,dan terdapat sel-sel asinar pada pankreas yang  menyebar diantara sel-sel  hepatosit yang disebut hepatopankreas.ABSTRACT                     The aim of his study to determine the structure histology of Bile and Pancreatic the local catfish (Clarias bathracus). Taken from three local catfish and studied by histological exploration method. Sample of bile and pancreas is done after euthanasia first using clove oil. Histologic observasions bile and pancreas were made after the preparation of histologic preparations stained with  hemactosilin-eosin (HE) of the bile and pancreas the localcatfish. The result of this study indicate that this local catfish bile is similar to other fish bile histologic, has mucosal tunica, muscularis tunica, and serousa tunica,the otherise average local catfish pancreas, located around the porta hepatic vein, are found to have blood cells, do not have Langerhans island, and the presence of pancreatic asthma cells that spread among hepatocyte cells is called hepatopancreas.

Abstract

Pliek u is one of the traditional spices of Aceh prepared by fermentation of coconut meat which is usedas chicken feed additive too. The stability of gut micro flora and histopathological changes of liver andkidney of mice were detected after three days oral administration of acute single dose of ethanol extract ofpliek u. Nine animals were used and grouped into three; in which group I and II (treatment groups) wereadministered 370 and 733 mg/kg body weight of pliek u, respectively, and group III referred as the control.At the fourth day of experiment, all animals were sacrificed, and their livers, kidneys and intestinal gutwere excised. The gut microbial was measured by Total Plate Count (TPC). Livers and kidneys wereprocessed for paraffin procedure and hematoxyllin-eosin staining. The results showed that the ethanolextract of pliek u has no significant effect (P>0.05) on the TPC of the gut microbial and the structure of theliver and kidney of mice. It can be concluded that administration of the two doses (370 and 730 mg/kg bw)of pliek u did not lowering the numbers of gut microbial and were not toxic to the livers and kidneys of themice.
