Abstract

Pendugaan kuantitatif atas ukuran populasi ikan sangat diperlukan dalam pengembangan dan pengelolaan sumber daya ikan. Pemanfaatan sumber daya ikan dapat dilakukan secara optimal apabila sediaan (stock) dan sebaran sumber daya ikan tersebut diketahui secara pasti sehingga langkah kebijakan eksploitasi dapat dilakukan dengan tepat tanpa membahayakan kelestariannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisa dinamika populasi dan tingkat eksploitasi Ikan Kurisi (Nemipterus hexodon) dari Selat Madura. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari-Desember 2010. Kajian terhadap biologi dan dinamika populasi Ikan Kurisi dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data sebaran frekuensi panjang (LF), panjang total (TL, Total Length), berat tubuh (W, Weight), jenis kelamin, dan tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG) dan dianalisa dengan hubungan panjang berat, pertumbuhan (panjang maksimum, umur dan kecepatan pertumbuhan), yield/recruit (Y/R) dan biomass/recruit (B/R). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan panjang berat  W = 0,05 L2,47. Nisbah kelamin jantan dan betina adalah 1:1,178. Nisbah matang gonad Ikan Kurisi terjadi pada bulan Februari dan Oktober. Lm = 16,42 cm  dan ada 7 bulan dalam satu tahun Lc<Lm. Parameter dengan persamaan pertumbuhan von Bertanlanffy L?=30 cm, k=0.4, to= -0,001. Laju Eksploitasi (E) saat ini 0,48 > E0,5 (0,311). Hasil penelitian ini memberikan gambaran bahwa laju eksploitasi ikan Kurisi di Selat Madura harus dikurangi 35 % untuk menjaga kecukupan  spawning biomass. Kata kunci: ikan kurisi, dinamika populasi, eksploitasi, Selat Madura   Quantitative estimation over the size of fish populations is needed in the development and management of fish resources. Utilization of fish resources can be performed optimally when the stocks and the distribution of fish resources is known that the exploitation policy can be done properly without endangering its sustainability. This study aimed to investigate the length-weight relationship of ornate threadfin bream (Nemipterus hexodon), the growth parameters (maximum length, age and growth rate), yield/recruit (Y/R) and biomass/recruit (B/R) of threadfin bream and the level of exploitation. The research was conducted in the Madura Strait in February-December of 2010. The biology and some aspects of population dynamics were studied. Length weight relationship W= 0.05 L2.47. Male and female sex ratio 1: 1.178. The mature fish gonad ratio of threadfin bream occurred in February and October. Lm= 16.42 cm and there were 7 months of the year Lc <Lm. Growth equation parameters by von Bertanlanffy L?= 30 cm, k= 0.4, to= -0,001. The exploitation rate (E) was 0.48 > E0,5 (0.311). The results of this study suggest that the exploitation rate should be reduced to 35% to maintain adequate spawning biomass of the fish at Madura Strait. Abstract

Hutan mangrove memiliki manfaat dan fungsi ekologi dan ekonomi yang sangat strategisbagi masyarakat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui : 1) kondisi hutanmangrove Desa Penunggul dan 2)manfaat langsung dari ekosistem hutan mangrove DesaPenunggul Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Dessember 2011- Januari 2012.Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari pengamatan langsung, wawancara dengan masyarakatdan pemerintah desa dan studi pustaka. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian hutan mangroveDesa Penunggul merupakan hutan hasil penanaman dan bukti keberhasilan upayapenyelamatan lingkungan pantai oleh masyarakat. Terdapat dua jenis mangrove yaituRhizophora sp and Avicennia sp. Rhizophora sp mendominasi ekosistem mangrove di DesaPenunggul. Manfaat langsung ekosistem hutan mangrove terdiri dari bibit mangrove,perikanan (kerang, kepiting dan rajungan), dan pendidikan dan pariwisata.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the relationship between altitude, aerial variables (temperature, light intensity, humidity), water qualities (water temperature, pH, BOD, COD, DO, TOM, and water velocity), and vegetation with the diversity of Odonate assemblages. Odonate samplings were conducted at six survey sites based on altitude and vegetation characteristics. Measurement of altitude, aerial variables, water qualities and vegetation characteristics were replicate in the first day and third day. Analysis of correlations of all environmental factors with the odonate diversity was done through structural equation model using Partial Least Squares (PLS), Open source Smart Software and Microsoft Excel. The aerial variables and water qualities affected indirectly on odonate diversity. The aerial variables directly or with interaction to other factor affected the water qualities and vegetation characteristics. The vegetation characteristics directly influenced to odonate diversity. Water flow affected water quality, light intensity affected the aerial, while morning period observation affected the odonate diversity. Predictive relevance (Q2) for a model designed amounted to 99.95%, while the rest of 0.05% are explained by other variables.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPermintaan produksi lele dumbo yang tinggi di Provinsi Bali belum mampu dimaksimalkan peluangnya oleh para Kelompok Pembudidaya Ikan (Pokdakan) penerima bantuan langsung masyarakat melalui program Pengembangan Usaha Mina Pedesaan Perikanan Budidaya (PUMP PB) tahun 2011 – 2013 di Kabupaten Buleleng. Faktornya adalah jumlah penyuluh perikanan yang mendampingi pelaksanaan kegiatan tersebut, kemampuan Pokdakan pada bidang budidaya, terbatasnya informasi teknik budidaya, kontinunitas ketersediaan benih yang berkualitas di Kabupaten Buleleng. Hasil evaluasi dan tidakan melalui Participatory Action Research (PAR) adalah memanfaatkan faktor lingkungan eksternal melalui pemanfaatan aliran irigasi subak untuk budidaya pembesaran lele dumbo, pemberian pellet fermentasi mendapatkan perbandingan Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR) 0,997 : 1,0. Hasil matrik IFAS dan EFAS, dari penelitian ini didapatkan jumlah x = 0,296 dan y = 0,058 yang menunjukan strategi progresif yang menandakan sebuah organisasi yang kuat dan berpeluang. Salah satu strategi yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan perairan dari aliran irigasi untuk kegiatan usaha budidaya pembesaran lele dumbo di Kabupaten Buleleng sehingga dapat memenuhi tingginya permintaan lele dumbo di Provinsi Bali.ABSTRACTThe high demand of catfish production in Bali province has not been able to be made use by local fish cultivation groups (Pokdakan) which are recipients of Fisheries Business Development in Village on Fish Aquaculture Program (PUMP PB) 2011 – 2013 Buleleng regency. The contributing factors are the number of the attending fishery counselors in the program implementation, the ability of Pokdakans on aquacultural field, the limited information on aquaculture techniques and the continuity of high quality seed availability in Buleleng regency. Evaluation and treatment result of Participatory Action Research (PAR) is that subak irrigation system can be used for the catfish rearing aquaculture, fermented feed utilization showed Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) 0.997 : 1.0. Based on IFAS and EFAS matrices analysis, achieved x value = 0.296 and y = 0.058 showed progressive strategy which means a strong and opportune organization. One strategy is utilization of subak irrigation system for catfish rearing aquaculture in Buleleng regency to meet the high demand of the catfish in Bali province.

Abstract

Skipjack tuna is one of the fishery commodities which has high economy value due to the high demand and high prices in the export commodities. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the potential resources of tuna and also determine its alternative management in Prigi Fishing Port (Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Prigi). This research was carried out at Prigi Fishing Port, Trenggalek, East Java from February to April 2016. The method used in this research was descriptive method. The data analysis methods were the standardization of the fishing gear, the analysis of catch per unit effort (CPUE), total allowable catch (TAC), and the skipjack tuna fishery management concept at Prigi Fishing Port. The fishing gears which were used to catch skipjack tuna are payang seine, trolling line and purse seine. However, the standard fishing gear used to catch the skipjack tuna was trolling line. CPUE analysis results were obtained from the CPUEstd average value in 2005-2014 as many as 4.79 kg/unit. The allowed amount of the skipjack tuna fish farming was 3,028 tons/year and the result in 2014 was 460.82 tons, means that the skipjack tuna utilization was still under fishing. Meanwhile, the fishing attempt of 224 units was exceeding because it has passed the optimum limit of fishing by 102 units. The results of the study recommended several policies of the skipjack tuna management which are: (1) the amount limitations of the fish farming; (2) the management of the fishing attempts; and (3) the regulation of the fish farming closing season.Keywords: fisheries management, skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis), Prigi Fishing Port, TAC

Abstract

The research was conducted to know the effect and to determine the best utilization of the chiken feather silage meal as a substitute for fish meal protein source in the feed formula of Colossoma macropomum. This study used experimental method based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Five diets (33% isoprotein and 3.85 kcal/g diet isoenergi) were formulated with substitution of the chiken feather silage meal to fishmeal protein. These substituted 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 % (A, B, C, D and E respectively) of the fishmeal protein. Parameters observed and analyzed were: survival rate, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency ratio, protein retention and protein digestibility. The results showed that the treatment had no effect on survival rate, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency ratio, and protein retention but the effect on protein digestibility. Based on these results, it can be concluded that fishmeal protein can be substituted with the chiken feather silage meal up to 100% in the feed formula of Colossoma macropomum.

Abstract

Catch biomass and time-trend perception of Beach seine fishery were studied during 2015, from four different sites in East Java: Padikde Madura, Santan Island Banyuwangi, Prigi Beach Trenggalek, and Dangkal Beach Pacitan. The study aimed to assess the impact of recently Ministerial Decree (No. 2/2015) on this particular fishery. Catch biomass was analyzed based on swept area method. Time trend perception was traced back from fishermen in relation to reduced catch biomass, catch size, habitat degradation, and income contribution from the fishery. The results showed that Beach Seines in East Java are considerably subsistence. It swept fixed-bottom habitats of 1–9 ha. Average catch biomass for all sites was 15±19.4 kg trip-1. With low price of fish catch, fishermen cannot place down their family income solely from this livelihood. Beach seine is more as to maintain tradition of subsistence. Fishermen clearly observed the reduced in catch biomass and catch size compared to what it used to be (±30 years ago). With very low contribution to total catch in the region, negligible impact to habitat degradation, and consumed no fuel subsidy, it is no real reason to include this gear in general ban through Ministerial Decree of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.

Abstract

The objective of this research was conducted to study heavy metals content of Cadmium (Cd) and Plumbo (Pb) in cultivation rearing of milkfish (Chanos chanos) in fishpond at Kalanganyar Sidoarjo towards the effect of histopathological gills, heart, and kidney of milkfish. Research and sampling of water and milkfish carried out in the Kalanganyar village of Sedati District, Sidoarjo. The method used was descriptive method. Data was analyzed by ANOVA, LSD, and regression analysis based on the value of scoring. The result of the research showed that the water conten of Cd was &lt;0,0024 mg/L and Pb was &lt;0,0044 mg/L. And in sediment content of Cd was 1,079 mg/L and Pb was undetected. The result of histopatological investigatiaon of milkfish organs showed that: 1. Gills demage was hyperplasia, fusion and necrosis. 2. Hepar demage was hipertropy, kongesti, and cells degeneration. 3. Kidney demage was atrophy, cloudy swelling and glomerular hyalinization. The results of water quality investigation was temperature: 29,2 oC; pH: 7,5; DO: 6,2 mg/L; and salinity: 17,8 ppt. Keywords: Histopatology, Gill, Heart, Kidney, Milkfish, Heavy metals Cd and Pb.

Abstract

Usaha pembenihan ikan merupakan alternatif pemecahan masalah untuk mengatasi kesenjangan antara ketersediaan dan kebutuhan benih dalam budidaya ikan. Keberhasilan usaha pembesaran ikan betok dibatasi oleh tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva bagi pertumbuhan dan jenis pakan alami larva ikan di habitatnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis dan kelimpahan pakan alami yang dikonsumsi larva ikan betok di perairan rawa monoton Danau Bangkau Kalimantan Selatan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2011-Januari 2012. Pengambilan sampel pakan dan larva dilakukan pada dua tempat yang berbeda pada kedalaman 30 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis plankton yang dikonsumsi oleh larva ikan betok berubah sesuai dengan ukuran bukaan mulut ikan dan kelimpahan plankton di perairan. Jenis plakton dominan yang dimakan oleh larva betok yaitu Mougeotia sp. 265 sel/L diikuti oleh Coconeis sp. 246 sel/L, Keratella sp. 174 sel/L, Chlorococcum sp. 110 sel/L, Brachionus sp. 98 sel/L, dan Navicula sp. 47 sel/L. Jenis plakton dominan yang dimakan berubah sesuai dengan umur larva. Business seeding fish an alternative problem-solving to overcome the gap between availability and needs seeds. The success of the business of enlargement climbing fish bounded by the degree of continuity larvæ live for growth and a kind of natural fish larvae feed on their habitat. The purpose of this research was to know the type of plankton that were consumed by climbing perch fish larvae in the waters of the monotonous swamp of Danau Bangkau. The research was conducted from December, 2011- January, 2012. The sample feed and larvæ carried on two different places at the depth of 30 cm. The result showed plankton species consumed by climbing fish larvae change according to size openings mouth fish and abundance plankton in waters. A kind of plankton dominant which are eaten by the climbing larvæ  namely Mougeotia sp. 265 cells/L followed by Coconeis sp. 246 cells/L, Keratella sp. 174 cells/L, Chlorococcum sp. 110 cells/L, Brachionus sp. 98 cells/L, and Navicula sp. 47 cells/L. A kind of plankton dominant eaten changed in accordance with the age of larvæ.

Abstract

This experiment aims to determine the effect and the best dose of Chaetoceros ceratosporum diatomae utilization in feed formula for post larvae of tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon Fab.) growth and immunity to Vibrio harveyi infection. This research applied Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment use  Chaetoceros ceratosporum diatomae in feed formula (iso protein 39.02% and iso energy 3.58 kcal/g diet) in different doses, i.e. treatment  A = 0 %; B = 3.04 %; C = 6.0 8%; D = 9.12 %. Observed parameters were Survival Rate, Growth Rate, Food Conversion Ratio (FCR) and Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER). Result showed that Chaetoceros ceratosporum diatomae utilization in feed formula affect the increase of growth and immunity of post larvae of tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon Fab.) to Vibrio harveyi infection.
