Abstract

A survey on 195 gifted fifth graders of 13 primary schools in Kodya Surakarta shows empirical evidence of very significant intercorrelation (P < 0.01) among several variables, such as intelligence, creativity, aggressiveness, the parents instructional guidance (independent variables), and students achievement (dependent variable). From the regression analysis it is revealed that those four independent veriables contibute effectively (70.588%) towards the success of the instruction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the tutoring services create mind maps to improvestudent motivation class X SMA N Karangpandan Academic Year 2011/2012. This studyis an experimental study with pre-experimental design pattern one group pretest-posttest design. This study population is students of class X with the number of 108 students while the sampleas the subject of this research were 36 students in the class X-2 SMAN Karangpandan selected by purposive random sampling technique. The research data was the motivation to learn the primary data source is class X-2. Data collection instrument was a question naire motivation to learn. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the results of the calculation oft = 11.784 compared witht table = 2.030 or count &gt; t table, then it can be decided there were significant differences (with significance 0.000 &lt; 0.05) level of motivation before and after given treatment (treatment) guidance of learning make a mind map. The conclusion is a guidance of learning service to make mind maps effectively to improve student motivation class X SMA Karangpandan Academic Year 2011/2012.Keywords: learning guidance, mind map, motivation to learn

Abstract

The objective of research is to find out the effectiveness of learning guidance with discussion technique to improve the bravery of expressing opinion in the classroom in the VII A Graders of SMPN 20 Surakarta in the school year of 2011/2012. The research was a guiding and counseling action research carried out in two cycles by identifying the problems existing in the classroom, planning namely to arrange the action procedures through the use of learning guidance model with discussion technique. Each cycle consisted of planning, acting, observing, evaluating, analyzing and reflecting. The subject of research was the VII A graders of SMP Negeri 20 Surakarta in the school year of 2011/2012 consisting of 14 students. The data source derived from the subject of research comprising of VII A graders of SMP Negeri 20 Surakarta. Techniques of collecting data used were observation and questionnaire. The data validation was done using method triangulation technique. The data analysis was conducted using percentage technique and descriptive analysis. The action used in this research was learning guidance with discussion technique, namely the one conducted with discussion method. The action was carried out in two cycles: I and II. The mean score of pretest was 43.29. The mean score of cycle I was 52.14, there was an increase of 20.75%, but the result had not been significant because the increase was still below the success indicator of 50%. The mean score of cycle II was 82.64, with the increase of 58.69% indicating the significant improvement. The conclusion of research was that the learning guidance with discussion technique effectively improved the bravery of expressing opinion in the classroom in the VII graders of SMP Negeri 20 Surakarta.Keywords: Discussion, learning guidance, bravery of expressing opinion.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of thescrabble games to the development of social interactions with the peer group of aelementary school students in class IV Tlogorejo Temanggung year 2012/2013.This research is the design of experiment with the type of treatment bypre-experimental design because use a subject group. The design of experiment ofpre experimental design use in the research is one group pre test-post test design.The subject of the research were all of the elementary school students in class IVTlogorejo Temanggung year 2012/2013 wich account for 38 students. Datasubject derived from primer data who is the students. Using data collectioninstruments that is social interactions with the peer group. Analysis of data using ttest techniques with SPSS applications.Based on the result of hypothesis, it is known that there are developmentof social interactions with peer group before and after treatment by scrabblegames that is t calculated = 4,105 compared with t table = 1,68 or t calculated &gt; ttable (0,000 with significance &lt; 0,05).The result of the research that scrabble games is efective to develop thesocial interactions with peer group in Elementary

Abstract

This research aimed to determine effectiveness of the implementation of the cooperation game techniques in group counseling to improve students’emotional intelegent. This research was conducted on the basis that in Junior High School in Karanganyar.  This research was quasy-experimental design. The subjects were students who have low emotional intelligence, ie students who earn below the mean pretest scores. Analysis using t-test statistical formula. The analysis showed a p values 0.000, which means that there is a difference between the experimental group who had been given a treatment with a control group who did not receive treatments. It shows that the game under the guidance of the group effective cooperation to improve the emotional intelligence of students.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of classroom presentation on time management to reduce the addiction to Facebook social networking. This research used the experimental research method with the non-randomized pretest-posstest control group design. Its subjects were the students who were addicted to Facebook social networking. They consisted of 44 students, and were divided into two groups: 22 students in experimental group and 22 students in control group. The data of research were analyzed by using the Mann- Whitney U-Test and the Wilcoxon Test. The result of the Mann Whitney was 0.001 (0.001&lt;0.05). Therefore, there was a significant difference of gain score between the students in experimental group and those in control group following the treatment with the classroom presentation on time management.Thus, the classroom presentation on time management is effective to reduce the addition to Facebook Social Networking.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the group guidance services through smart monopoly game to the develop elementary students’ creativity. This research was using treatment by subject design. The subject of the research were 40 students of 5th elementary school. Data subject derived from primer data who is the students. Using data collection instruments that is verbal creativity tests. Based on the result of hypothesis, it is known that there are development of creativity before and after treatment by group guidance services through media smart monopoly game that is t calculated = 17.460 compared with t table = 0,023 or t calculated &gt; t table (0,000 with significance  &lt; 0,05). The result of the research that group guidance services through media smart monopoly game is efective to develop students’  creativity.

Abstract

The purpose  of this  study was  to  determine  the effectiveness  of  the scrabble games to the development of social interactions with the peer group of a elementary school students in Temanggung. This research was pre-experimental design. The subject of the research were 38 elementary school students. Based on the result of hypothesis, it is known that there are development of social  interactions  with  peer group  before and after treatment  by scrabble games that is tcount=4,105 compared with ttable=1,68 or tcount&gt;ttable (p value 0,000&lt;0,05). The result of the research that scrabble games is efective to develop the social interactions with peer group in Elementary School students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the influence of divergent thinking training that is designed in a question and imaginative tasks, to improve the creativity of children. (2) To determine the influence of divergent thinking training is packaged in a question and imaginative tasks, can provide the atmosphere of excitement as the atmosphere of playing in children. The experiment was conducted in kindergarten Aisyiah Premulung Laweyan Surakarta in Academic Year 2009/2010. The subject of this study was student class B shares of 30 children. According to the study design or design of this study include Pre Experimental Design, also called quasi experiment, with the pattern: Pre-test and Post-test Design Group One as a data collection technique using keativitas test tech-niques to test the first hypothesis to test, while the second hypothesis using a technique observations with the instruments of observation and completed documentation form (photo). Based on statistical analysis to test the first hypothesis got result to&gt; tt = 4.651&gt; 2.76 (db.29), this means that the hypothesis that divergent thinking training that is designed in the questions and imaginative tasks, to improve the creativity of children TK, verified. Furthermore, to test the second hypothesis, based on the observation (teacher notes) and documentation (photos) records of activities, it can be concluded that divergent thinking pelafihan packaged in a question and imaginative tasks, proved to give the atmosphere of excitement as the atmosphere of playing in kindergarten.
