Abstract

The standard Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint relays (MPRs), to mitigate message overhead during the flooding process. We propose a new algorithm for MPRs selection to enhance the performance of OLSR using Particle Swarm Optimization Sigmoid Increasing Inertia Weight (PSOSIIW). The sigmoid increasing inertia weight has significance improve the particle swarm optimization (PSO) in terms of simplicity and quick convergence towards optimum solution. The new fitness function of PSO-SIIW, packet delay of each node and degree of willingness are introduced to support MPRs selection in OLSR. We examine the throughput, packet loss and end-to-end delay of the proposed method using network simulator 2 (ns2).  Overall results indicate that OLSR-PSOSIIW has shown good performance compared to the standard OLSR and OLSR-PSO, particularly for the throughput and end-to-end delay. Generally the proposed OLSR-PSOSIIW shows advantage of using PSO for optimizing routing paths in the MPRs selection algorithm.

Abstract

Pembaca buku elektronik adalah perangkat lunak untuk membaca buku elektronik pada komputer, dimana navigasi perpindahan halaman biasanya dilakukan dengan menggunakan tombol. Pada makalah ini akan dilakukan pembahasan mengenai navigasi perangkat lunak pembaca buku elektronik berbasis mobile berkamera depan menggunakan teknik Face Tracking yang telah dimodifikasi. Perubahan urutan proses dan pengembangan dari teknik face tracking dengan metode perbandingan warna citra telah dilakukan dalam OpenCV Frameworks. Dari hasil eksperimen didapat bahwa bahwa metode perbandingan warna  citra dapat mengeliminasi proses perhitungan yang kompleks pada teknik face tracking dan mampu berjalan dalam memori yang terbatas.

Abstract

Hashiwokakero is a logic puzzle game that sharpen the brain and very popular in Japan. This paper discusses about how to find a solution in the Hashi puzzle game using Hashi Solving techniques, such as: Just Enough Neighbor, One Unsolved neighbor, Few Neighbor, Leftovers and Isolation. Hashi Solving techniques are used to find and build bridges that can definitely be built across the island, while Depth First Search (DFS) will search and build bridges that have not been found by Hashi Solving techniques. The results shown that Hashi Solving Techniques and DFS able to solve every Hashi puzzle scenario.

Abstract

Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal has been widely used to detect the heart rate of the human, and it is useful in cardiac pathology. ECG detects several heart diseases of the patients. Wearable technology comes to be conducted as work as the monitoring devices to get the ECG signal directly from the patients. However, the movement of the patients will cause noises which interfere the result of the ECG. To overcome this problem, the digital filter is proposed to be designed and used in getting an accurate ECG signal. The filtering ECG results give likely in analysing the heart disease.The structures and the coefficients of the digital filters are designed using Filter Design & Analysis (FDA) tool in MATLAB. The analysis of magnitude responseis done in two type of the digital filter - the infinite impulse response (IIR) and finite impulse response (FIR). This paper evaluatesthat the FIR digital filter is more stable and better to be used in removing noise from ECG signals.

Abstract

Indralaya known as the City of Students and Education, also has more than 30 boarding school, and 60 senior high school / vocational school spread over Ogan Ilir. Implementation of community service performed in Inderalaya to determine the relationship of the behavior of teenagers surfs the internet and provide knowledge about healthy and safe while surfing an internet. The method of data collection using questionnaires. Number of questionnaires distributed as many as 27 participants from SMAN 1 Inderalaya Utara and Pondok Pesantren Al Ittifaqiyah based on age from 15 to 17 years. Results showed teenagers have the tendency to access the internet every day with a duration of 1-2 hours and mostly done in the bedroom. Applications often they use is social networking. The teens also have the courage to meet with people who are known via online with a percentage of 29.6%.

Abstract

According to the Basic Data of Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education that there are 18 vocational Computer Engineering and Networks in Palembang with consist of 2 state and 16 private schools. Utilization of the wireless network delivered in the training method that involves cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The basic training taught basic computer network, especially related to wireless networks. These three aspects are evaluated through a pre test and post test. The results of pre and post test showed that 6.7% of the participants were not able to increase their knowledge about the wireless network while 93.3% are able.

Abstract

The production of the palm oil accounted for 10.15% of total palm oil production in Indonesia. Farmland monitoring system is designed to determine the condition of temperature and soil moisture on oil palm plantation. In this study, we design and build a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) with fitted temperature and moisture sensors for monitoring soil quality. The process of temperature and moisture data communication from sensor nodes to the sink using a routing protocol that named Power-Efficient Gathering in Sensor Information Systems (PEGASIS). The routing process in the PEGASIS is the nodes will form a chain by selecting a leader node as a gateway. The development of WSN is composed of 3 nodes and 1 sink with three different scenarios. The first scenario is placed moisture sensors on three nodes (single sensor), the second is placed the temperature sensors on three nodes (single sensor) and the third is placed moisture sensor on two node and one node equiped by temperature sensor (multi sensor). The evaluation of WSN communication using the PEGASIS routing protocol compared to the direct transmission using delay, packet loss and energy have done. The results obtained are the difference between the lifetime sensor nodes between direct transmission and the pegasis is 7 minutes time difference. For the average delay of PEGASIS and direct transmission is 31.23 and 30.92 ms respectively. All transmission in both scheme have packet loss 0%. Conclusion, the WSN has successfully implemented with longer life time energy using PEGASIS than direct transmission methods.
